This is August the 5th 2025 I dropped my bike off a price of nearly a year and a half ago for a tune-up and a repair the back brake. They called me one time in a year and a half that was to tell me that the bike was done when I arrived the two tires had no air both gas lines were broke they said a new battery that was on the bike will no longer hold a charge and then I would have to pay for them for putting a new battery on it... If this ain't enough crap to kill your mood they never answered the phone in a year and a half that they had my bike.

Dropped my bike off at The Bike Shop on October 8th, 2024 after my chain snapped. I was told the repair would take about an hour once the part arrived. I checked in regularly, and after over a week of no progress, I went to pick it up. The bike hadn’t moved an inch. To make it worse, they made me pay for a chain and sprocket they ordered—even though they never did the work—and I later discovered they ordered the wrong sprocket (6-bolt instead of 5). Ended up wasting 9 days and $200, and got the job done elsewhere in 30 minutes. The worst part? While my bike sat untouched, employees were literally drinking and hanging out. Zero sense of urgency or professionalism. I’ve since read tons of similar reviews and I’m glad I cut my losses early. Based on how they respond to criticism, I’m fully expecting a defensive reply instead of any accountability. If you value your time, money, or bike—go somewhere else.

They replaced my tires in a week and a half. They answered my question when I called for updates and called me back when they said they would. All and all a solid shop doing good work for a reasonable price

If I could give 0 stars I would I had a bad experience with this bike shop I had brought in my minibike to be fixed for a small problem and was told it would be a quick fix but didn’t get any updates from from bike after calling and calling several times and being told they were working on it in each time in exchange,I just received a very rude customer service after just wanting to know how much it would be and when it would be ready, after almost two months i finally went in to pick my minibike and as I expected they just did the exam and took it apart and had done nothing to it, received it with some pieces in a bag and exactly the same after supposedly waiting for them to fix it for almost two months. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Mark and his staff are always willing to go the extra mile to keep your bike on the road ... And if they don't have it he can get it quicker than U .

They never call back the call in clients. Even if you're ready to deliver for service you'll always be waiting. But they gladly order your part on the internet just won't have time to do the install promptly. If at all

This place is horrible please don't go there if your actually trying to get bike fixed they'll lie and tell you one thing just to get you locked in but will never really help you till this day they still have no clue whats wrong with my bike told me it was finish one day came up asked what was wrong they couldn't give me an answer then decided they needed to work on it for a few more days. Then when try to get ahold of them they finally answer after a few days and tell me they have no clue whats wrong with the bike and mind you this after they've already had the bike for a month and half before any of this conversation happened.

I have been dealing with mark and his shop for little over six months now. They have been extremely helpful with my bike projects, whether it is a cheap Chinese moped or a name brand bike, they have been very knowledgeable and kind. Definitely looking to do more business with them In the future. Thanks again!

my girlfriend has a very old moped that she wanted to get fixed so she can ride around Kansas City with, this place ensured us that it would be done in a timely manner, and not to worry that we were in good hands……. And it’s literally been two years since that conversation, they wanted $300 upfront and then we would pay the rest when the moped got finished, we have had any single ounce of communication from the establishment, giving us an estimated timeframe, it almost feels like they’re just trying to steal her moped at this point, I would highly advise to go somewhere else to get your vehicles worked on everybody because this place will absolutely give you the runaround and nothing but excuses about why they aren’t working on the things they need to work on, it’s immensely unprofessional, there is no excuse in the world for an establishment to hold on to someone’s property for two years with no progress at all

This shop is amazing! Needed some help & certainly got it! Owner and his wife no nonsense & very friendly. Lucky I have a skilled shop so close. Thank you!!

My bike broke down while passing through Kansas City, thankfully the Bike Shop was open on a Monday- they stopped what they were working on, and manufactured the part needed to get me back up and rolling! He also double checked the rest of my bike to make sure I would be safe getting the rest of the way home. The owners were so awesome and kind! And they were more than fair with their pricing. I was so grateful for them! Best shop around- especially for female customers! They made a rough day so much better ♥️

Fantastic bike shop. Excellent customer service!!! I called with a motorcycle question all the way from Arkansas and they were able to help me over the phone. Really appreciate you guys. Next time I'm in Kansas City Missouri. I'm going to come say hello. Thanks again!!

BEWARE!!! Brought in a scooter that needed a clutch cable, a battery installed and a new exhaust (all of which I supplied) and left TEN MONTHS LATER with my bike in pieces… AND THEY CHARGED ME $350!!! Absolute horror story of an ordeal. Literally admitted that they had an apprentice work on it that didn’t know what he was doing, very unprofessional, no communication. Would give them zero stars if that were an option. The picture of the scooter looking nice and put together is the BEFORE picture from the day I dropped it off with them. The picture of the scooter in pieces is how I got it back ten months later. Mark was rude and belligerent. Read the other negative reviews… they say the same thing about his attitude and his replies to reviews are even combative. I’m reporting them to the BBB too.

Had a bad experience. I was told I will have my bike check out when I brought it in. I waited and called back two days later and was told it will take two weeks. waited for two weeks and then was told it will take a month for them to check my bike for a very simple problem. Got my bike out of there after three weeks, took it to another shop and got my problem solved in less than 30min. I don't mind waiting but don't tell me lies just to get my service.

My bike, amongst 20 others, was stolen from this place. I recovered the bike after finding it on Facebook Market place. To get the bike back to original is now going to cost me over $1,500. This shop does NOT carry the correct insurance (baileys insurance) to cover your bike if something happens to it. Mark the owner only offered to sell me the parts at cost to fix the bike. In my opinion, the bike needs to be put back to the state it was when it got stolen, on their dime. 100% do not take or leave your bike there.

Please avoid The Bike Shop for your own peace of mind. I used this shop for motorcycle repair multiple times. Each time was worse than the last. Work took weeks longer than quoted with no explanation. The owner Mark was incredibly rude when I'd call to check on work after not hearing back. Can't believe they're still in business. This place inspired me to learn to work on my own bike, because I couldn't bear to go back. Please avoid them for your own peace of mind.

I'm going to start with Mark seems to be a nice guy I did read some of these reviews. Before I took my bike to him. His technician was working on the same bike as mine. I'm going to give him 3 stars as of right for good customer service. I will update this when I get my bike back on the service they provided on my raptor 660r

Wish I could give less than one star. -They Rarely answer the phone. -They Called me 2 times while they had the bike for 2 and a half months. -My bike was there for 2 and a half months and they did nothing to it that I wanted done. (which was to clean the carbs) -They made me go drive out to Kansas to get them a gasket that they supposedly ordered 3 weeks prior. -Gave me no exact answer on what was wrong with my bike. -Also, when I dropped the bike off it was running. When I just picked it up it will not start. Do NOT take your bike here if you ever want to actually ride it. They will nickel and dime you for everything they can. Do not make the same mistake I did.

I'm so happy I found this place!! We have taken 3 bikes here in the past 3 months. First our 230 Honda dirt bike and our 110 Honda. Both were in poor shape. These guys got them working better than when they were NEW! No JOKE! Then we took our Polaris 4 wheeler. If anyone knows, Polaris went out of business. I have taken this bike to a couple of people over the years and NO ONE has gotten it to work the way these guys did. My son was so excited to ride it and said, Mommy I think its faster! : ) Just want The Bike Shop to know, we took all 3 out this weekend and they road like CHAMPS! We had so much fun! Thank you. Your guys are awesome!!!

I took my R1 to this shop to have my flywheel removed so I can replace my stator. My flywheel was not coming off as easy as it was supposed to. The two pulleys that they used had broke. After attempting to get it off for 30 minutes while it was still in the back of my trailer we were unsuccessful. He did not charge me anything for something he could not complete. I then headed to Reno's Powersports in South KC on Holmes Street. A Yamaha specific mechanic shop. They did not have any luck getting my flywheel off either. I had left the bike with Reno's Powersports. After 3 days they called me up and said they could not complete the job and charged me their rates. After I was disgusted with Reno's Powersports for charging me for something they could not complete. I went back to the bike shop where I had met Mark. After putting three hours in he finally got the flywheel off. When it comes to professionalism and a sense of security of knowing that your bike will be taken care of I would trust and recommend anyone to The Bike Shop. I do plan to return to this shop when I need Marks help to put my bike back together. GREAT JOB. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS SERVICE. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE CITY FOR WORK THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ON YOUR MOTORCYCLES. With out hesitation they will treat you right and take care of your bike properly.

Mark, the owner of the bike shop; along with one of his mechanics, went above and beyond what they had to, to correct a problem I had this weekend. I was happy with the work that was done on my bike, and thought the price was reasonable. I will use the Bike Shop in the future, and have recommended it to another Gold Wing owner.

So far everything is good with the bike. Only thing I can complain about is the TIME! Taking about a month and a half but Mike is a super nice guy who's trying his best from what I see. So that's why I give it 3 stars. Once bike is back in my possession I will write another or just edit this one to a higher or lower star. Thanks a lot tho Mike appreciate it.

This shop is awesome! By far the nicest guys and quickest repair time in the city. If you're looking for quality work, check them out. Mark took my old Honda Spree and made it run/look like it just rolled off the factory floor. He had most of the parts in stock and got my bike back to me FAST. Bring donuts, and they'll be your best friend!

I've been taking my bike to these guys for 8 years. They've always taken excellent care of me and my motorcycle. Great quality work! I wouldn't trust my safety with anyone else. Any time I've ever had a question or concern, they've always been a phone call away.

I went to Mark on a Friday afternoon, arriving from out of town with no signals or horn working. He started working on it immediately, found the problem almost right away and only took about an hour and a half to do the analysis and repair. I appreciated his working on it right away because I was only visiting Kansas City for a short while and needed my bike to be able to get around. Everyone there was so friendly, too. Mark knows his stuff, nice guy, and there are some good relics to look at - bikes, not people :) - while you're waiting.

Never owned a motorcycle of my own so when i bought it at first of summer i figured id have to leave it in the shop for weeks because of time of year, which i figured would be normal!.. so when i jokingly said i would like back for holiday weekend! we both laughed!! So imagine my surprise when the call came in 2hrs before weekend that it was fixed!! only 2 days later!! I however grew up around auto shops my whole life & am aware of the problems that can pop up & the fun customers that want it back "right now" or everything for nothing! Which can turn mechanics pretty non social after awhile! But not these guys! for a guy that owns that kind of shop to take the time to go over a few things about the bike with me that i could do to save money! I was more than alittle shocked!,( takes money out of his pocket) that & and the personable attitude With the Owner (Mark) which i haven't met to many guys in garages that even wanna take the time to be on any first name basis's @ all!!! & The Other mechanic in the back is just flat out one of the nices most knowledgeable guy's ive ever met!! ive sent 3 people there since & they said same thing ! didnt really get the bad scooter review making any since at all!! i did see them take one from a pile of parts & drive it out in one day!! the only sad thing on motorcycles is you cant get parts in town mostly so it takes a bit longer than cars cause they have to order them!! I've taken my bike back twice, to add extra's & everytime they have shown me things that could use some attention or went ahead & fixed a little thing, Without charge! one thing i had to pay for was a no brainer, no prob! Long Review! but never done one before & the first time i ever thought any business took care of me good enough to take the time!! These Guy's are worth the drive!!!!

Stay far away from these scam artists! Took my bike there for a diagnosis, the owner Mike didn't mention any charges before hand. Later, he said it will cost $250 to get the bike back out and there was nothing wrong with it. I doubt he even looked at it because I asked him to do some work if he was going to get in it. They have the worst customer service of all time. I was genuinely duped out of my money. These guys are horrible!!

" This bike shop not only appears to be inept at simple mechanical work but is underhanded as well. After having my bike for 4 weeks and not receiving a call back about my bike, I called only to have them tell me that the fluids were good and the cover over the blinker light was broken.... I asked them if they had checked out what I had... brought it in for (which they should have had on the ticket) and they didn't even know. So I reexplained the issue. They said they would check it out. Again after no call back (yes they have my number its on the ticket) I call them after 3 weeks. I'm told "oh yeah the bike had some bad wiring" I asked what wiring. I was told " Oh I don't know I'm not the one who worked on it (again should be on a ticket) but its good to go" So I show up pay 250 dollars (which they asked for in cash by the way) and head to work where the bike dies a good 12 times on the way there. After arriving at work I called the shop back and told the owner what happened. He told me to bring the bike back and they can fix that too... as in another bill for what they didn't fix the first time. I asked them if they would make it right and come get the bike they did not fix and please fix it. Not only did they refuse to do so, they refused to give any sort of refund for what they did not fix. To conclude I'm out 250 dollars and 7 weeks of summer I could have been riding due to the bike shop. This is not the way a real business should work and is a disgrace to Kansas City. I intend to make any other motorcycle riders out there fully aware and warned about this place. I'm also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
