One of the worst experiences I have ever had with any mechanic shop. The staff was extremely rude, unprofessional, and acted like customers were an inconvenience to them. They don’t communicate, they don’t respect people’s time, and they clearly don’t care about providing honest service.
And they’re do it illegal inspection for people and over charge them $60 with out seen the car
The way they treat customers is unacceptable. I left feeling disrespected and completely frustrated. If you value your money, time, or basic customer service, avoid this place. There are many better shops in the area that actually treat people with respect.
I’m very disappointed with my experience at this shop. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of helping or communicating clearly, the staff spoke in a rude tone and made the entire process frustrating.
As a customer, I expect honesty, professionalism, and basic courtesy — none of that was provided here. I left feeling unheard and mistreated.
The shop manager is a real scammer, starting with the fact that I went to change the springs on the car and instead of changing them, he put in some old ones he had, and now my car is worse than before 😡
Came here for an inspection this morning and was only here for 15 minutes. The customer service and price was great. This is my first time here. My parents have been here many times, great service for the most part.
We were passing through Missouri on a 22 hour road trip to Illinois from Utah when our check engine light came on and the car started turning off. At autozone they gave us the code and parts to replace what was supposed to be wrong. Someone recommended us to La Chispa and they got us in fast after hearing our situation. Turns out it was an easy fix and autozone’s pieces weren’t needed. The check engine light turned off and the car stopped shutting off. Felt very cared for and the car made the rest of the trip without any issues! :)
They told me 160 to fix the car then after they fixed it they upped the price to 225 about complications on welding a muffler ... yea right.. told my girl the 25 to look at it would go towards it but they lied. Basically they quoted me a price and I brought that amount and they will tell you a larger price when it's done because if you cant pay the full bill and leave your car there it's another 25 dollars so be ready to get hustled
Good practice of auto mechanics. Will use them again. Not to extreme in cost but what auto experience isn't expensive anymore. Good owner also always on site.
Too the company truck in because the gear select shaft broke. Got it back with a new steering wheel that had to have the connector from the old steering wheel spliced onto the new (used) steering wheel. The wires just twisted together with electric tape wrapping them. When the truck was brought to them, all lights, signals, and hazards worked correctly. When I got it back, the signals and hazards didn't work at all. When it was brought back in to them to fix, they couldn't get them working correctly again and wanted to charge me for it after paying for the original botched repair.
They fixed one of my car, less than a week noticed major issue related to the same thing I went over there for the first place, guess what, they told me that I have to pay them full labor again. My honest believe is that new parts was never installed. I lost money I had to find another mechanic and I am glad that I found one that is honest, humble and cheep too. Guess what the bad parts he took out confirmed to me that, La Chispa did nothing to my car and took my new parts that I bought and brought to them. My car drives like new now thanks to new mechanic. All have to say is shame on them for ripping me off like that, remember honesty goes way too far. If I could give you guys 0 I would, you don't even deserve 1 star rating.STAY Way from them please.
Really rude the guy who is in the principal office, doesn't treat you well and ignored you, may be the son of the owner or something. First time there and first bad regretting to drive from lenexa to this shop, te tratan como merde..😒
Trash, the guy told me I had to replace my engine total cost above 2 grand, I had another mechanic fix the oil leak w/2 simple oring seals less than 30$. what a hack. if he don't make money off of you he'll "scare" you away with some bogus problem
Best service for pricing in KC. The job done right the first time or it's on them the second time. Enrique is knowledgeable and no bull attitude, no extras when the bill comes due.
Bad important! I own a Chevy Impala 07 and went in there to get my shock towers and my passenger front cv shaft replaced. They just stuck the cv shaft back in there and wired the old boot back on it. They also used the wrong shocks so it shot through my hood. I was about to head on a cross country trip with my 13 yr old month daughter which they knew. Do to the crappy work , it started shaking and tried to rip me off the road. So ya thanks La Chispa... you almost killed us. The last picture is what it should look like. " My boyfriend and I did this in the yard. Not in a shop." LOL
I took my Honda Accord and they Destroyed it. They stole parts off it. Carlos the mechanic ask to buy it for $500. The lost part of my plastic steering column. They gave my home key to someone who trashed my home, wrote on my walls and broke things. They do More Damage than repair. They poured oil into my alternator causing me to replace my alternator and battery!!! Don't go there, tell your friends don't go there!! I deeply regret ever going there!!! They are NOT Christian men, they lied to me!! They return my Honda with No Oil in it. Max Payne is Lying, because there is NO OTHER Mechanics Near Their Shop. There are 2 vacant lots and a Soccer Field. Max Payne has No Idea what he is talking about!! Don't Go There....This is Your WARNING!!
I went in to get my rack and pinion changed and it was only $180 in labor.there is another auto place across the street and they were gonna charge me $300 in labor.auto zone told me to go to la chispa.after I got it changed I asked him if my steering wheel was okay and he said yeah.i asked if there was any other problems and he said "I dont know, you told me to change the rack amd pinion so thats what I did" kinda rude but prices are great.i also have to go get my coolant flushed and its only $30.larger places are charging me $70 just to flush it
Do not come here for Missouri safety inspection. I called to see when I could get an inspection done. When I showed up at the designated time, they then told me they were "too busy." When I asked politely if they could please get me in, as I had, in fact, called ahead, the inspector acted put out and said he guessed he could put me in front of the people who were there.
Then he tried to tell me my year and a half old car needed repairs in excess of $120! I took it to another inspection place and they passed it in approximately 5 minutes. There was nothing wrong with my car at all, the guy at La Chispa was just being a jerk or trying to get money out of me.
My experiences have been over all good. You need to talk to Enrique. He went down to a salvage yard and pulled parts, then installed them on my ISUZU trooper, after some other mechanics jacked up the brake rotor because they didnt know what they were doing. They goofed up the whole spindle. Enrique found, pulled, and installed a whole spindle for $150. I am about to ask him for some other repairs right now.
These local shops are very "iffy". Sometimes they are incompetent, to outright thieving, but Enrique LaChispa (Owner) has always been very good to me.
