What clients say about Midway Auto Parts in North Kansas City (MO)
Bought an engine through them trying to get it warranties for a head gasket, but they’ve been given me the run around for over 2 months. Now they are saying I have to take it to the dealership to get fixed after they’ve been communicating with the shop I chose this whole time. After I asked for the warranty to see where it says it has to be done at the dealership (because the original warranty I received doesn’t say that) they go radio silence. Would not recommend these ppl.
Their Rep David lies and lies, giving us the run around on our transmission warranty. Gave us a faulty transmission, told us a certain part would fix it, it didn’t. Now they want pictures of it torn open again, to see the problem instead of giving a new tranny. Want us to spend countless dollars for labor so I can convince them, that their part is the problem when obviously it is. All he will do is lie and give you the run around, until your warranty expires. Avoid and purchase parts at lkq like I should have.
These people are a complete waste of time I ordered a pice of glass their employees failed to notify me when my piece of glass arrived. After a month of waiting, I I called. They said they had my glass so I went To pick it up when I get there, they said they had thrown it away and or sent it back. They tried to get me to pay $365 for a new piece of glass After already paying 265.
Ordered a part a week in advance only to get the wrong one. Parts are overpriced when they pull them for you. Be a lot cheaper to just go to u pull and get them yourself. The workers were helpful at least. Parts come with warranty if they are bad/wrong so I at least got my money back
I've only been here once, but had a great experience. This was all due to a man named Hector. Super cool guy, very personable and customer oriented. 6 back because of him.
Service Sucks. I called to make sure my part was there and they said it was. So I went down there to pick it up (on the hottest day of the year with no air) to pick it up only to be told it was still in Oklahoma! All I could do was turn around and walk out. Went back the following day and stood in the lobby for about 10 mins before anyone even looked up! Finally got help after asking was someone going to help me! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
Worst service ever. Drove 5 hours to pickup a bed for a pickup showed up at 4 p.m. They close at 5 and was told I could not get loaded even told them the day before I would be there to pickup. Do not recommend busy with this company
I do not recommend this parts store. .
They suck.
After submitting every document they require, including my credit card ID and credit card authorization form.
When following up about order After two days. response from Billy “I don’t know “ .
No tracking provided. No invoice provided.
Wasted two days.
If you are on schedule and need parts, this is Definitely not the place to buy from.
I wish I can give zero stars.
I would recommend this place. I worked with Hector Medina to get the part that I needed. Hector goes over and above with his customers. I did not feel like a woman who didn't know what I was doing there Hector made the process very simple and helped me figure out the correct part. Thank you Hector for providing excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE, these days you don't see that too often but Midway Auto Parts is the exception.
Every time I call them and ask them for a part they have always been kind and helpful. They give me options as well, very professional. Never have been disappointed.
I just called up there at 4:54 yes they close at 5 but the lady that answered said to still come up and she’ll have the part ready I told her I was about 5 miles out still got there quick. When I went up to the door it was locked and the guy that was standing there counting the register literally waved at me laughed and walked off. Y’all are weird and have terrible customer service especially when I didn’t ask to come in today she offered the gesture.
Ordered a window for a 2022 Elantra that was vandalized. Took a week longer than what they said. I took off work for the afternoon 9 days after.
Lady told me to go down the block to parts/ loading #5. Nothing marked but #3 #4 then it goes to #14. I figured out I go up the stairs to a desk. Guy takes my invoice
goes upstairs, comes down then says it's broken. Go back and get a refund. No one called me. Very large waste of Valuable time.
I was quoted close $800 to replace the side mirror on my car at Bob Sight Kia. Instead, I went to Midway. They picked the part I needed in less than 30 minutes and sold it to me for $65. My son put it on in 10 minutes. The customer service at Midway was excellent and you can't beat their prices!
This is a callout for Thomas!
I have purchased a few items over the years from Midway. This time it was a lift gate for my Honda Pilot. Thomas was an absolute rockstar and an example of "how to" be a customer advocate. He researched options that would work or could be modified by me to work.
In the end he had brought in a couple for me to choose from and they were color matched to my pilot. I picked one that was in the best condition, but made me do a bit more work (rewiring the harnesses). It was well worth the work. Attaching a pic of the end result. It's in better condition than before I smashed into a tree.
On my next trip...Thomas, I will be calling you!
Staff is very rude and act like you are bothering them. I had to wait over 20mins for them to acknowledge me because the three people working behind the desk were too busy talking about what they were doing for lunch I was the only customer there at that time. The gentleman that helped me priced me a used seat switch for $75.00 and I explained to him that a brand new one only cost $25.00. his response was I don't make the prices. He didn't even try to relook it up to make sure it was the right part that I was asking for. This is the second time I have been there and both times they were very rude. Bought a rear end last time and took them over an hour to get it to me and it was already pulled.
I was so thankful my body shop found them. I was able to run up to their KC location and pick up the part I needed to save on shipping costs. They were way behind-the part was supposed to be ready the Friday before, but even though I came the next Monday afternoon, it was still several hours before they could pull my part, which kept me from getting it back to my body shop before it closed for the day. So just plan ahead and assume they may be delayed in getting you your part. They are super nice and helpful. I would recommend them to anyone needing to save money by getting a salvaged part.
Are you looking for good parts, good prices, and good customer service?
Give Midway a call and ask for Ed! He has been helping me with all my salvage part needs for the last two years. I know when Ed picks up the phone I will be taken care of. Thank you for all you do! I look forward to continuing to do business with Midway and Ed for years to come!
The staff are well informed and polite. They reached out to me to verify certain things, and I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, they gave me the wrong product, which was actually a bit of a big deal because they're quite out of my way to go back to trade it for the correct one, then I had to go back to the tire shop to have the product installed (again). But when I did go back to Midway Auto Parts, they promptly switched out the product without any guff, which I was sincerely grateful for.
Fantastic! My drivers seat motor/track broke and the dealership quoted the part for a little over eleven hundred dollars and three to four weeks for shipping. That didn't even include labor! The mechanic said that if I could find the part used, he'd work with me to get it installed. I called a handful of salvage yards and Midway was the one that had the part - and they were a thousand dollars cheaper! I went in later that day and got the part. Jeremy was super professional and helpful and now I just have to wait a few days for the mechanic to be back from the holidays!
Online search led me to Midway Auto Parts for a Cadillac differential. So I called on Monday, talked to a friendly and very helpful gentleman and he took all the information to verify the correct part. Good price, so a purchase was made. Asked to send it to the shop doing the repair. He said they would pull the car in and get the part on Wednesday. I called Friday morning to get a status and he said the differential was delivered Thursday the day before. Called the shop and they had it, so we set a time up for repair. Swap was very smooth, exact part match and they have a very happy customer. If needed, I will call them first, and have highly recommended them already. Thanks!
Midway was recommended by my mechanic for used parts and I see why - they inspect the part and list it well on the website.
First time in last week (1/29). Called ahead (1/25) like the website stated and put a part on hold...had to wait a fee more days because of weather, but they were happy to extend the hold. Good part, fit exactly right to my vehicle and saved a lot of money.
To date I've had 4 unique interactions with the guys at Midway and to date every one has been excellent. Everything has gone super smooth, and to be honest better than buying a brand new part from your local parts store.
My most recent experience was the purchase of a complete motor. The motor had been pulled and was already on a pallet. Rather just just ship it, they had the awareness to inspect it and found that the oil pan had slight damage. Again, instead of just shipping it, they took pictures of the damage, sent them to me, informed me of the damage, and still offered a reduced price considering the motor wasn't exactly as described.
These guys genuinely care that you get the right part and that you're taken care of. Anyone can sling used parts but it's the customer service that brings you back and these guys are on top of it.
Midway auto is my go-to for OEM parts. Last February, my wife was in a car accident and I needed a new passenger door and front fender as well as a new wheel for her 07 Honda Pilot. This was my first buying experience with Midway.
Today, I picked up a used engine for my 03 F150 and couldn't be happier. Staff both in the parts department and the loading dock were genuinely friendly. Stewart Taylor was the gentlemen I spoke to on the phone and purchased the motor through, and even though he was out of the office today, I wanted to give him a shout-out for great customer service and a genuinely friendly spirit! Thanks Stewart & Midway! I'll definitely be back!
They did a great job! I had a wrecked car and was super stressed out in all the aspects of dealing with it. They were all very professional and helpful! The tow truck driver was here first thing in the morning to get the car after calling 30 minutes before he arrived, he was very nice and bonus I didn't have to wait around all day! Also sales was very nice and sent me texts walking me through the whole process. IF we ever have another salvage car we will call them first and only👍 thanks to all of you for your help!
Overall I had a good experience. Talked with Ed about getting a used part. They had it in stock and was a good price. Took me about an hour and a half to get there and the part wasn't ready yet. Ed said it would be ready in about an hour when I purchased it over the phone. Other than having to wait about 15-20 minutes, everything was smooth and easy. I will look to Midway anytime I might need a used part in the future.
