The absolute worst experience. They were rude and not helpful at all.

Lady at one of the windows who was wearing a cloth black mask and spoke in a very low tone got frustrated when I wasn’t able to hear her directions, because of her cloth mask and low tone of voice. Had to ask her to repeat herself many times and she was visibly annoyed.

Extremely upset, I came here today in hopes of getting my real ID that I need for my job, for travel, I brought everything I needed my birth certificate, social, and several forms of proof of residency, i use my birth certificate all the times at this dmv before and I know I’m not the only one who may have an old certificate not in perfect condition but legible, I was told it was mutilated, without the clerk trying, and I was denied a form of residency by my church as far of my tithings for the year, but luckily I had my w-2s and my social security letter, I was nothing but nice and cooperative with the clerk but she was automatically seemed just not wanting or looking for a reason to tell me no, maybe it could be for my religious beliefs, or deciding to take personal issues out, I wanted to go back to talk to a higher up but I had work and the line had grown since then, very disappointing of how I was treated, a lot of people come here and don’t have money or time to go back and forth, there should be a level of compassion and not to take things out of the public for own personal reasons.

After completing an online Driver License renewal application and making an appointment, I checked in on my phone 10 minutes early as the DMV suggested in a text message for a 9AM appointment on a Thursday. The friendly officer inside the front door gave clear directions and asked me and a few others to sit down. The window staff lady was pleasant and helpful. When I asked her how she liked her job, she said that it is "always entertaining." The only line I stood in for a few minutes was for a photo at another window. After the photo, that staff member handed me the printed Interim Driver License. I asked her why my vision wasn't tested. She didn't know, but said I would get my license in the mail in 2 weeks. I was done and back in my car in a total of 20 minutes. The only hang-up was that it took over 5 weeks to make an early morning appointment, so don't wait until the last minute to renew a license. Another good thing to know is that a Real ID driver license didn't cost extra when I got it with my regular driver license renewal, which was $46 in January 2026.

Went there for my disabled veteran plates and the lady didn't even look at my paperwork. Just told me I didn't have the right form. Worst DMV ever. All the staff are rude and don't know how to do their job. Sad that they represent apart of Calis federal department lol

I had an appt for my daughter’s permit test. When we arrived, the security guard asked us why we were there. I explained we had an appt and she wanted to know the details and then told us to find a seat or go outside. Keep in mind, the place was jammed so we had to go outside and wait in the rain. After waiting an hour past our appt, we finally got our number called. While my daughter was taking her test, I was told again I needed to find a seat or go outside. I wasn’t able to wait for my daughter where she could find me. She’s 15 and I didn’t want to leave her alone with a jammed up DMV. What a joke.

The examiner appeared impatient and seemed eager to end the test quickly. After I made one minor mistake, the examiner failed me immediately, even though the situation was safe and controlled. During the test, the examiner pointed out many issues afterward, but most of them were minor and should not have resulted in an automatic failure. It felt like the examiner was intentionally looking for reasons to fail rather than objectively evaluating my overall driving ability. This experience did not feel fair or professional, and I believe the test was not conducted with reasonable judgment. One piece of advice for future test-takers: if you are assigned an examiner wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, be cautious. Based on my experience, whether you pass or fail may depend more on the examiner’s mood than on your actual driving performance.

Very horrible service. We came to our drivers appt on time and had to wait in line while the worker let random people cut in front of us we get to the desk at 230 and she says we can’t take the test because there’s a 10 minute grace period. Spoke to manager and she didn’t care that we arrived on time , worker went on to lie saying we were now “20” minutes late when she turns us away. .. ridiculous service here. Government funded places this take our tax dollars and have employees like this are a joke. check your cameras , train your employees better so they can all stick to the same rules not pick and choose to implement their own rules. Pretty easy to sit there all day and have a demeanor as though it’s your rules and pick and choose who you want to help. All while you sit on your high horse behind a desk. ridiculous behavior coming from someone who literally took someone in front of us who was not in line at all. That’s our fault ??

Honestly the best experience i’ve had at a dmv ever. I took my Behind the wheel test and Victor, my instructor was just above and beyond. He comforted me when he knew i was nervous and i think knowing that it made me pass. Along side him the rest of the staff was so kind, from the women that helped me behind the counter to the security guards. I honestly felt like i knew them. I had even went up to the counter after i passed just to tell them i had passed and they cheered me on. Thank you so much again!!

If I could give this location a negative 1 I would. Been there 3 times for a license renewal, took 3 hours each time. Just to get a different response from each employee.

Hello to all y'all out there I've been going to this Riverside DMV for over 20 years. I usually go on Wednesday or Thursday around 1:00-2:00 pm, from license issues to test or registration an hour at least the more prepared u are the quicker it will be. Also the nicer u are to the employees they will be which should make your DMV experience hella better. Kenny C. Riverside CA

Crazy that my son failed his behind the wheel test for going “too slow” and taking too long to get to speed.. wasn’t even 10 mph under the speed limit and then the second time he was going “too fast” going maybe 3 mph. Saying you can’t even go one over. So unless you’re going the EXACT speed the entire time, you’ll fail. Despite the dmv website stating otherwise.

It’s amazing I’ve been away from California for 35 years. It’s something that the DMV hasn’t changed at all. Very poor customer service and the person in front was rude and condescending. All in all a very unpleasant experience.

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. Horrible customer service, typical rude employee stereotype of DMV workers. Appointments mean absolutely nothing, you’ll still wait. Miserable as ever have no desire in helping people. Especially the lady on window #8! Unprofessional and rude.

Nice friendly environment with all that attended me for my services. Waited a bit but it was OK. I will go again if need to, better than the other DMV.

I live closer to fontana but generally drive to this location since I can remember. I can say outta all the times I've have gone in, I've been treated rudely. But that's not the norm. They're normally very nice and friendly. Professional!! I'll be in today and hope for the same... thanks guys and gals

I visited the DMV office in Riverside (Brockton Street) yesterday and was very impressed with the entire staff. They are polite, professional, and truly customer-oriented. While I was there, I witnessed a difficult situation where a customer was giving the staff a hard time and even threatening to complain to higher authorities. The DMV supervisor and representative handled it with patience and professionalism, resolving it calmly and respectfully. No one is perfect, and we should all respect each other and work to resolve matters peacefully. Great job, DMV Riverside team! Keep up the excellent work—you are doing a fantastic job

So worst experience when I was checking in for my appointment! This girl had nothing but attitude and talking like she owns DMV! Reality check if you have issues with helping the public and can’t do your job efficiently maybe this is not a good fit! However after I got my number the gentleman on the next window super friendly and explained the process of Real ID!

I like the new ticketing system where they let you check online how far back you are in the queue once you check in. Other than that it was a miserable experience. They need to have a front desk dedicated to answering questions so you don’t have to waste 2 hours of your life in line only to have them tell you “Just wait for it in the mail, I can’t do anything for you.” ?

Came here as a walk in on a Wednesday where they open at 9AM. I recommend getting there a minimum of 30 minutes before opening as people start waiting in line an hour before. From opening (9AM) to the end of my visit it was an hour and a half, not bad at ALL for a walk in. I was helped by Renee at the window who was a very helpful and welcoming person. It’s a smaller DMV, it can get crowded very quickly. Overall, it was a quick and easy process.

This was such a pleasant, yes pleasant experience today. Greeted with a smile, directed to a short line, explained what I was there for today, the DMV employee was pleasant with a nice smile, I was handed a number, the wait wasn't long and all of the employees were friendly and the security guard as well. This office is run like a tight ship. Job well done... I look forward to completing my next transaction at this location. 5 STARS PLUS...

Why do these people waiting outside the DMV look like they're being punished for doing something that is required by law. Add a sitting area onto the building. #simple

This DMV has done great work for me recently. I had an appointment, and they brought me in right away. I was able to take care of my business quickly and efficiently. No problems.

Waited three hours to get seen without an appointment!! Totally worth it! Staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful. Other than waiting, the process went smooth. I got everything done. Thanks everyone for being so efficient and on task. I really appriciate it. Keep up the great work!

You know!!! It was a decent to Pleasant experience. They have Covid procedures in place, people walking around inside to assure not to many people standing around inside or just hanging about inside for no reason. Plastic is up, hand sanitizer is out, mask were being worn. They ladies ( That who I encountered mostly) were not rude, they were quite nice, ,helpfulness was at a high. This ocular DMV on this particular day it's a 8 & 1/2 to 9 out of me. That side parking is TIGHT!!!! ( That's my one and ONLY Negative I have to raise.

Arrived 7:45am.,there were 20 ahead..8:15am got temp screened, 8:30am got in for license application renewal. 9am inventory window, then a 15min wait for picture taking., got an interim license (a DMV card will be arriving in the mail in 6weeks max) got off 9:30am. Everything went good. DMV Brockton (in Riverside) is very effecient and organized. Keep it up???
