January 2026:
Visited for a regular oil change + and Auto transmission fluid change. Took two days. I would've preferred if I received timely updates rather than me having to call frequently. Good service as always nonetheless.
I always have a great and positive experience when I take one of my vehicles to pro trans, it's 1 of the only places that I trust.

ANOTHER 2025 UPDATE
So my "check transmission" light would come on and then go off. It might have been any number of things, but the recommendation was to rebuild the tranny after 100,000+ miles. It's an old car. I'm buying a new car. But this old car will be great for a backup ride. And I'm attached to it.
I was able to wrap my brain around the expense. ProTrans has always had a transmission expertise, and this current result is a knock-down, stand-up superb performance.
The Trooper runs and shifts better. It doesn't have a leak problem anymore. I checked stories of friends who maintained old vehicles, some with engine overhaul and even more than once. Take the Consumer Price Index for each year and apply it to those expenses of 30 years ago. You come out with a number close to what I paid today.
I can drive around with total confidence now and visit dealerships to pick the new ride. It's about time. I am advised that "I deserve it". But ProTrans has done great keeping up my old Trooper, and likely continue to do so.
ProTrans is extremely reliable in getting to the bottom or cause of any problem. We replaced my alternator after the idiot charge light came on. They quoted me $500, and there was a short in the alternator wire requiring attention to it and replacement of the voltage regulator in the newly rebuilt alternator. They sent me home with a vehicle in perfect shape, for about $600, given the additional complications.
Mike and his staff at ProTrans are fantastic. Honest, reasonably priced and the work is top notch. They did some work for us on my mom’s car and it runs like a champ. I highly recommend them.
They rebuilt my 2013 Chevy Silverado transmission earlier this year. They did a great job at an affordable price. It was done in less than a week. 11 months later it is still running strong. Mike was great to work with.
Protrans Automotive is a shop you can trust to get your repairs done right. They deal with OEM parts on major repairs. Communications excellent on estimates and with state of the art billing software. If you have an older vehicle needing major engine repairs, this is the shop. I recently had timing chain, spark plugs and oil pan gasket replaced on a ford 5.4, a beast of a job. You can trust your repairs will be done right and warranted. I'm glad to have found this repair shop since recently moving to Riverside from Hawaii. Check them out before going anywhere else. Highly recommended.
I took my car for a check engine light and hesitation at idle. It was a Friday so I half expected nothing to be done until the following week anyway but was hoping for a diagnostic check. Car sat all day without a check so I called at 2 they said they would get to it soon and call back. No call. Place closes at 5, I call at 430 and they said they ran a diagnostic and don’t see a light on or anything wrong.
I said I will come pickup the car. Soon as I picked it up… check engine light on and it’s doing the same hesitation.
All that was wrong was the spark plug. Easy fix and they could’ve made money on labor but I had to go elsewhere.

ProTrans took great care of us while our truck was in the shop! They went the extra mile to make sure we got done what we needed at a great price. They helped us navigate our extended warranty stuff as well, which was super helpful! They communicated with us consistently throughout. Would highly recommend them to everyone in the area!
This shop constantly sends me emails, mailers, and even holiday cards encouraging me to keep using their services. I’ve taken two vehicles here in the past for transmission work and was seen the same day, which I appreciated.
But for the past two months, I’ve been trying to get in touch with someone about two different Jeeps—one needs a new transmission, and the other needs the transfer case resealed. For the first Jeep, I called three times and was told someone would get back to me. I only received one call, and when I tried returning it, no one answered. For the second Jeep, I was told someone would call me with a quote—I missed the call, called back, and again, no response.
If you’re going to go out of your way to advertise to me so persistently, at least make sure your service matches the same energy.
Transmission service was done, took a couple hours. Nice waiting room while service was completed. Transmission shifts smoother than before service. Will definitely use Protrans again.
The power steering pump was completely dry. Second try at getting it fixed. Very sloppy work. You have just lost one of your better customers!!! We can't trust your work any more!!!
It's been a long time since I've been to Protrans Automotive and I had a different car then but still a great experience. I decided to go back for a second opinion on some work that the dealer said I needed. Come to find out nothing needed fixing. The customer service was great and there was no service charge because they didn't find anything wrong with my car! Thank you to everyone there for your help
Took my car to diagnose a check engine light that had turned on and off along with the slippage warning light. Protrans took a look and couldn't find any error codes in the computer, so it's mystery! It was very nice of them not to charge me the diagnosis fee. I'll be back to service my vehicles here.
I took my car here because the dealership told me I had an issue with my sway bar links and found that this shop had good reviews. They gave me a free inspection which I appreciate. However, when I took my car in, they not only told me that I needed to get my sway bar links replaced, but also that I needed to get my control arms replaced with a realignment. They quoted me $2,000 for this. This was excessive so I took it somewhere else and they told me I did not need to get this replaced. I did not appreciate the dishonesty.
I don't normally leave business reviews, but I had such a nice experience I thought I would. I bought a used 7.3 about 4 years ago and have been doing most of the work on my truck when I have the time. I am definetely not an expert. I had a few things that I needed to have done with the shop (loose shifter, water pump, etc) and I felt that it was fair and I wasnt cheated in the slightest. Then they gave me a list of things that I needed to do in order of pritiorty and I was able to take care of a few of those on my own. They taught me a few things about my truck, did not shame me in the slightest as other shoos have in the past, but rather gave me helpful recommendations and knowledge on subjects I had no idea about. If I ever have trouble in the future, I would definetly shop here.
I took my 2017 Ford F-150 here before my trip to Utah to make sure all was well with my breaks and top off all fluids, overall a safety check. Every time I called all were courteous, polite & very professional. I really appreciate this company’s honesty and integrity, they provided my truck with an oil change. No haggling, no gimmicks, no up selling I’m a lifetime customer. Thank you & I recommend this company.

Protrans is great! It's already a nightmare having to get a new transmission but they made the process very easy and had my vehicle up in running the same week i took it in. My car ran even better than before! had someone not recently totaled it, I'm sure i would have gotten a lot more life out of it. Definitely recommend ?
Our brakes failed on us two months after taking it to Ford for a brake repair and we refused to take it back there after. Protrans Automotive took our car with no appointment and called us regularly for updates. The mechanics fixed up our brakes in a very efficient manner with very reasonable prices for the work done. Will definitely be coming back here again for future repairs! Bravo
