Unfortunately we did not feel welcomed here at all. When I went with my husband and two kids, (one of whom was in a stroller and the other whom we walked with yhe entire time) we were followed around the store and kept getting told things were dangerous as if our toddler was running around grabbing everything. Genuinely he was not, if he had been i wouldnt be writing this review. It became evident that children are not welcome in this store. It is perfectly fine to have adult only spaces in the world but they should be marketed as such, otherwise kids are allowed just like anyone else. At the end of our trip we inquired about a piece of hardware we were looking for (an old fireplace flue pull chain) and were basically met with "of course we wouldn't have that here!" Overall it was not a good experience because of the employee working, which was really too bad because the store itself is lovely. Tldr: If you want this store to be only for certain ages you should market it as such. Kids are allowed to exist in the world but apparently not at this store even if they're extremely well behaved.

This place is more reminiscent of a museum than shop, everything is meticulous and priced accordingly

Good selection of items but beware of their final sales policy. Staff is not willing to accommodate exchanges which is challenging when purchasing hardware for older homes

I’ve been around Portland for many years, places like this remind me why I still love this city. OPH feels like stepping back in time, shelves full of old fixtures, doorknobs and pieces of history you don’t see anymore. I spent a good hour just looking around and remembering things my father used to have in his workshop. The staff was kind and didn’t rush me, even when I asked about a few unusual items. You can tell they care about what they do. A real gem for anyone who appreciates craftsmanship and the past.

One of the coolest stores in the city! They have incredible treasures and the people are phenomenal! If they don't have something, they can for sure get it for you!!

All the good adjectives to describe this place have been used. It is magical, awesome, incredible, and a must see. The quality of stuff here is amazing – ready to use. No cleaning or fixing needed. The diversity of items on display is amazing. Such variety. If you need parts for an old house or want to add character to anything or any place, you’ll find something here. It felt like being back in my dad’s or grampa’s garage/shop. It’s super well organized and the talent staff can help you with anything shop related and more. It’s just a great place to wander around and explore. A must see for sure.

Best architectural salvage shop I’ve ever been in, beautifully curated. If you’re in the market for light fixtures or hardware this is a wonderland. Gorgeous stained glass panels and antiques, fairly priced.

When I walked into this store I was gob smacked! If it’s something unique dated and in tip top shape that you want for your home, this is the place. They had stuff I didn’t even know I needed till I saw it. Amazing!

Wonderful experience. The gentleman that that helped me was very nice and took care of what I went for. It was my first visit. Had I known the amazing selection in this store I would have been shopping here long before

This place is magical! I felt like I was transported into a Harry Potter world or some sort of whimsical wizard home. Whether you have something in mind for your home or you’re just wondering around; expect to enjoy the wonders this place has to offer. From old vintage machines, light fixtures, kitchen appliances or medical devices; this place will transport you into an enchanted world of randomness. Everything is so curated so beautifully! I’m so glad we stopped by after seeing it on our drive.

MUST-SEE bounty of incredible architectural salvage with something for everyone, even on a budget. Salvage stores can feel dusty & overwhelming with this much inventory, but at Old Portland everything is impeccably organized and beautifully displayed. Whatever your interest, the welcoming & friendly staff are more than happy to help. They're also extremely patient if, say, you want to see 50 different antique door knobs under a glass case; in fact, they seem just as enthusiastic as you are to check them out. The people here REALLY know their products, not just how to fit them logistically into modern structures. Every knob of the 200 or so in the case I looked at is ornately unique, and each comes with a label noting details about the date & manufacturer as researched by an employee. That's not just dedication, that's love, and you can feel it in every display. I walked in hoping to find unique gift under $100 for someone I love, and walked out with the perfect treasure $15 under budget - and it's a really, really cool one. The pricing is very fair, the people are the best, and the store has the ideal inventory and atmosphere for an afternoon of enjoyable browsing. Highly, highly recommended! I'll be back and will spread the word. ?

Regular and best and only spot in town for old door and house hardware AND top of the line advice on how to do your own restoration and knowledge of 100+ year old hardware designs and manufacturing and working. Like a vault of Portland house hardware, plus amazing collection of oddities on display and the best old lighting restore like new.

My friend took me to this place saying this is her favorite fancy antique store. I was in awe when I walked in. Great selection. You'll probably find what you need for your house. A fun place to explore. I saw some old stuff I've only seen in movies. The door knob section was definitely my favorite. The staff were friendly and helpful. I'd come by often, if I lived in the neighborhood. There is a free parking lot behind the store.

What an amazing place to explore! Perfectly merchandised salvage and antique goods. Reasonable prices and left feeling so inspired

If you have an older home and you want to do a sympathetic renovation or your going for an all in restoration or if you're just a sucker for anything old you NEED to visit this place. They have thousands old homes fixtures perfect for anyone attempting to restore a older home. I found some old door knobs with lock and latches intact, a delicate little towel rail, a couple of window latches, and most special of all the exact same drawer pulls as the originals in my 1928 home meaning I'll be able to replace all the old 1970s pulls that were added over the years.

incredible array of items if you're looking to restore to the correct period. I came looking for some ordinary handles for a cutting board and ended up leaving with a unique pair of antique cast iron strap handles (for a trunk, I believe) that worked very well for what I wanted. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. Great neighborhood vibe. Highly recommend!

I don’t normally write reviews, however after my experience this week with Ian , I am extremely unhappy. This gentleman and I couldn’t even call him that, was very less than. Rude, entitled, non engaging, and non responsive to actual questions and advice needed. This store is beautiful don’t get me wrong , and I’ve found many treasures to add to my home, however you’ll have better luck and better service going to the multnomah village antique shop. Better location, helpful employees, and considerably cheaper for how good the quality is. Ian needs a news flash in customer service.

This place is awesome. It's the perfect blend of cool Portland vibes to find something unique and also find exactly the thing you need. The layout is beautiful, organized and well curated. The prices range from an absolute steal on common items to very expensive for more rare items. If you need any hardware for an old door this is the first and only place I would look. It is really the one stop shop for old door hardware because of how organized it is. The service is absolutely amazing. I came in looking for a strike plate for an old door and they had exactly what I needed for a reasonable price. The lady working there understood everything related to these doors and explained a lot about them to me. She also showed me other items I was looking for but I wasn't quite ready to buy.

So good! A wonderful selection of anything from cut crystal to furniture to light fixtures to oddities. When ever I find my Victorian dream haunt, I'll come here first. Meanwhile, here's the first fixture I got for my upcoming kitchen remodel! And an old chairback I'll convert into a mirror!

This place, is AMAZING!!! Talk about a trip down memory lane, mixed with heritage, style, class and status. I simply love the hardware, handles, door knobs and how incredible each item was back in the early days. Very few items are made anything like the items shown at Old Portland Hardware. If you desire unique items for your home, or are building a new home but want to add stylish decor, this is your place.

VERY unique store. You can spend a lot of time here just looking. And if you’re interested in finding unique lighting (not just looking), this is THE place to go. Amazing. Check the pics. I’ve lived in the Portland area for 30+ years and can’t believe I’ve never been here.

My new favorite store in Portland. I could look through here all day. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff, too! Anne was great. I’ll be back to buy my knobs!

I drove by this shop a few months ago when I was in Portland for a visit, but they were not opened at the time. I finally got the opportunity to stop on yesterday and so glad that I did. This place is absolutely stunning in person! The craftsmanship they put in to restore and salvage unique vintage pieces is impeccable! Everything places out on the floor is thought out and pricing is reasonable. Please don't come in here to complain about how expensive it is, considering the amount of work the staff puts in to reclaim each piece. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I am looking forward to returning on my next trip!

This place is insane cool! You won't find any of grandma's antiques here but instead really neat turn of the century items such as flat drawer cabinets, advertising signs, cigar paraphenilia, old medical apothecary and bottles, antique wooden shipping containers and boxes, war memorabilia, tools/hardware and much more! Avoid Restoration Hardware, IKEA and Home Goods and get some items with real history with decent prices while supporting your local businesses!

Wow. Beautiful items, but so overpriced. Thought maybe geared towards California-types gentrifying NW neighborhoods. Loved the covid-19 protocols! Staff was extremely helpful & friendly. I imagine the 2 pieces that I picked up for $400.00 (for both) would easily be $600.00- $800.00 there.

Really huge, cool antique shop in Sellwood! They have a small parking lot which is nice. I love old tools, clocks, appliances, e.t.c. so wandering through this beautiful space was a treat! It is very clean, well organized and well lit which isn't always the case for some big antique dealers.

If you appreciate the authenticity and beauty of reclaimed and salvaged items, then you'll love this place! Plan on spending a while your first visit because there is so much to take in. Nothing faux here! Beautiful original lighting fixtures and so much more. Staff is very friendly, welcoming and helpful!
