What clients say about 205 Auto Salvage, Inc in Portland (OR)
I made two trips to 205 because I was not sure which part I needed. I called a couple times because I am a rookie at fixing cars and knowing what to look for. The part I needed was a resistor, it was hard to find. They had it in stock. I was so excited I bought more parts for my car, the window guys that moved my windows up and down for both front windows. I bought three parts for less than what I would have paid for a new resistor. The resistor I bought did not fix my problem, not because the part was not good, it was because I needed to replace a different part. When I made my second trip, again, fast service. They were super friendly and personable too. Made my wait for the part better than just standing there. When the man came in with the part, he checked in my car which was already apart to see if they was the part that was broken. Just a quick plug in. It worked!! I have heat in my car! They easily took back my resistor and swapped it out with the blower. Amazing! I will go back for sure and tell everyone that needs GM and Jeep parts, they must go there.
Awesome folks! Super friendly and helpful. Had the part I needed for more than half the cheapest others where charging and came with a 30 day warranty!! Definitely will be going back if I need a hard to find GM part. Thanks again guys! Would definitely recommend checking these guys out!!!
I've been a customer here for years. I keep coming back because they typically have hard to find parts I need for a reasonable price. I like to support our local companies first! They appreciate our business and I appreciate what they do. It's a win- win**
We buy jeep parts here, these guys are great to work with. We are not a repair shop just a person with a jeep off the street. Bill was super helpful getting us the parts to fix our jeep a Deere ran in to. I would send any fellow jeepers here!
In the day and age of 'grumpy' parts guys at salvage yards, 205 was not that! John looked for the part I needed, and although he didn't have it, he referred me to someone that did! Super friendly, easy to talk to on phone (used more than one word for his answers). Really appreciate this kind of service, so thank you John!
This is a great place. I have been helped by John numerous times. I've had my car broken into and 205 has provided me with three different windows. I'm disabled so I cannot go into the store, and they've always allowed someone to pick up my parts for me. I can't say enough good things about this place.
Super nice folks who work here. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. Despite the fact they didn't have what I needed I will certainly come back whenever I need more. I look forward to finding that one rare rando part I need through them someday.
Note: They really only do carry Jeep and GM parts.
I have been here a few times. Always something going wrong with my 2001 Jeep. I usually have someone else install the parts because I don't know much about being a mechanic. Every time I get a part it has not had to be replaced since. This time the starter went out and I was on my own to diagnose the problem and install the part. It was slightly difficult to do since I didn't have a jack and I had no idea what I was doing. But after that nerve racking experience and after tightening the last bult, I plugged the battery back in, rushed over with keys, and that baby fired up better than I have ever remembered. And the price was perfect! You guys keep up all your hard work. I will always come here first before anywhere else.
You can't go look at the vehicles you want parts from. The place was dead and they had two guys at the counter. Simply could have just had someone walk me back to see the condition of the vehicle that it's coming off of. Possibly a company policy but I didn't see it stated anywhere. it's a very small thing but I won't do business because of it. Just keep this in mind when going to see what they have.
These guys had the color matched hatch I needed and pulled and had it ready same day actually within an hour!!! Saved my customer prob over a thousand bucks!
Counterman physically went out and checked the part for me and even Called me back when he said he would!
Thanks John !
I bought something that broke about two weeks later. Not sure it was even their fault, but they gave me a new part and actually put it on for me to make sure it worked for free. Great service and really friendly. Highly recommend
I called today and spoke a guy who asked me what I needed. I told him I was looking for a 2008 Hood Latch for my Trailblazer. The guy proceeded to argue with me. He told me: I was looking for a truck-up part, as I repeated what I needed,. . As an employee representing a business he was rude, did not listen to what I needed and began to laugh when I got angry at such poor phone service on his part as REPRESENTATIVE OF 205 AUTO SALVAGE. Laughing at a customer in need is not right. He should have paid more attention to what I said I needed not what he thought. I hope this not how this business is run. I had to give a one star to in order to post this - After the phone service I received I would not have even given that! Very disappointing!
Called Airport Auto Salvage for a replacement Blower Motor Resistor for an 03' Sunfire, they referred me to 205 Auto Salvage and said "If anyone's going to have that its them". Called to check if they had it, they said they would call me back once they checked. 20 minutes later they confirmed having it and said it would be at the counter waiting for me. It was. I'm happy. Blood pressure stayed normalized start to finish. They were nice too!

This place employs Billy Wilson the neo nazi white nationalist that tried to drive his truck through protestors then bragged about it. The owner still says he's a nice guy. RACIST.
