2 yrs ago bought a car stero and had it installed. After installed had to take it back because it looked terrible but they fixed it. Now the installation has loosened up and the Bluetooth sounds bad. I took it back since installation was quarenteed. Well they sold the company and have no records of my sale. I called and they said they could take a look at it right away. Drop car off and go back 2 hrs later and they haven't even looked at it yet. I walked around to showroom for about 10 min before even getting any help. I would not recommend using Car Toys anymore. Im going to go ahead and get a real company to look at it.

Alex runs a great Car Toys shop out on Halsey! I would trust him and Don with any future purchases for my car. They were helpful, respectful, and went above and beyond to help me achieve the safe install I was needed in my daughter’s car without a huge upsell or being condescending. Highly recommend and will be returning.

Car toys on 102nd in Halsey completely and totally ripped me off. I gave them a chance to correct it and even though they admitted their fault, they still did not return the money that they took from me. I don’t know much about stereos and car stereos and installations, but I trusted them, and they took advantage of me. They took over $9000 from me. Stay away from car toys. There’s many other car stereo places just stay away from there or the same might happen to you.

Thank you to the great installer Jacob. He installed our car cameras perfectly! The installation was very meticulously and well done. It was clear he knew a lot about electronics and making it work for us. Thank you to Jacob and all the other guys at Car Toys.

Decent and I mean DECENT quality of all they do. And incredibly expensive. Bought a $300 stereo from them and the finale install price was $1300. $1000 in misc. parts & $600 of it in labor? They had my vehicle for a few hours. I wish I went to another audio shop so I would be charged a reasonable price. Unfortunately with no way to contact management with new ownership there is no resolution to my problem. Hence my last resort to leave this review.

Installed a new updated car radio for my 2008 Tacoma that was exactly what I needed & within my budget & said I didnt need to spend additional $$$ for an amp.(knowledgable & honest sales staff). Radio sounds fabulous & cant see any signs of the installation.(very skilled install crew). I'm and old guy but sales staff was professional & treated me with respect. I felt welcome in the store. I came in with an issue regarding my back up camera. It wound up being a camera replacement, They installed the new one quickly, Professionally and did a fast but great job with the installation. I am very happy with how it turned out. I was amazed at how clear the picture for my back up camera is now. It seems like I went from a 640 P resolution to a 4K resolution with how well it works. I will use them in the future for sure. Great experience!

Service person, John, were very nice and accommodated me with my Groupon. They called to say they had to charge me $80 extra for pet fur and I understand that though it seemed a bit high. Exterior looks fantastic and interior looks nice with no noticeable pet fur. However the weather tech mats still looked dirty despite he said they were pressure washed. Also they said it would be done by 3 or 4. When I called after 5 they wanted me to leave it overnight. I said I needed it before closing. Maybe shortcutted at the end?

Very big thanks to Alex and Devon for getting my installation taken care of. These guys are great. If you are the new owner of the business reading this review, pay attention. You lose these guys and you don’t have anything left. You might want to think about creative ways to keep them for as long as you can.

Staff at Car Toys were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional. They advised on the potential risk of installing a part I brought to the store, and then expertly got it installed in less time than they had estimated. Very satisfied customer!

Service was great product was great. My only complaint is their bathroom! I’ve been to truck stops, rest areas and gas stations in my travels and I’ve seen cleaner restrooms! It was filthy! I’m surprised more people didn’t notice or complained! They should be ashamed

Car toys put in a new expensive sound system. Music keeps turning off Every time you turn the bass up. They said the sub woofer needed to be replaced. Spent a lot on a new subwoofer as they said that was the problem. They put in and I get home and it’s doing the exact same thing. So now I’ve bought two subwoofers and my music still doesn’t work.

Everybody was great and ensured we got our vehicle back the same day. The manager even drove to a different store to get the components that were necessary. Couldn’t be more appreciative of the effort.

Stellar experience getting a dash cam installed with great post-install support. I was lucky to be able to get a same-day appointment and it looks like the install techs did a very clean, well-wired install. There's too much stupid going on on the streets of Portland for me not to have a dash cam for my protection, and Car Toys in Gateway got me a great cam,. for a great price, with reasonably priced installation, with no hard upsell and no BS. For any of my future car electronic or customization needs, this is my go-to place!

Disappointing. The good: Up-front no-nonsense pricing, and easy to work with to get appointment that works for me. The bad: These guys seem to have not quality checked their own work on my window tint before presenting it to me. There were numerous bubbles to deal with. They left the headrests off my back seats on the floor, along with a razor blade. they damaged part of the leather driver’s seat. And they failed to put the rear passenger door back together properly—I’m still missing a screw. I seriously hope this isn’t the best that Portland has to offer, because I know guys who do better work in their driveways.

Well to start with they charge me over $1500 to install alarm on my work truck. It’s not a bad price but the toolboxes have sliders and they kept falling off and my alarm keeps going off constantly so I called them up and they told me how to disconnect the drone underneath the dash I said cool so I did that. Went back on another Saturday and drop my truck off. They said they epoxied my slider sensors on should not have a problem Well, one week later, the drone app does not work again so I’m just at this point like really man come on dude 1500 bucks and you guys are like not even helping me So with that being said, I’ll upload a couple photos of what I’m talking about and I do not recommend this place. It seems like it’s being ran by children. And I will actually go somewhere completely different next time for an alarm these guys are a joke. Customer service sucks.

Well I'm torn. My first visit I found the staff to be very helpful. I bought some 6x9's online for my truck that didn't fit. They informed me all I needed was an adapter and they had a pair in stock at a great price. My second visit i was searching for an adapter so that I could connect my new stereo without cutting into the factory wiring. The guy told me it needed a radio interface and grabbed an antenna adapter because he said the kit didn't include one and told me it was gonna cost me around $220! I pulled out my phone and found the same kit he brought out for $100 cheaper and I didn't even need the antenna adapter he was trying to add on to the charge. So first visit was great, second one made me wanna shop around before I come back

Staff was very friendly and able to get me in quickly for an install of a new head unit. The reason for the low star rating is because the sound quality is terrible and I have to return for a tune. The install was also supposed to integrate the steering wheel buttons which did not happen. Over all car toys does have knowledgeable people that are helpful but they are overpriced and not great installers.

Great service, very happy with everything. Took my older car in to get upgraded stereo and see if they could do something about failing car alarm and came out with a great stereo system and new car alarm and got the headlight restoration service. All was explained well and done in a timely manner. Very happy customer.

I had an awesome experience with this location. I went in to purchase a back up camera, I told them my budget and they showed me the best bang for the buck system. The install was top notch and I'm totally impressed with the outcome. I will tell all my friends to go there and anyone that's interested in a quality install.

Once the work got underway (installation of a new stereo) things went great. But the initial visit led me to an underestimated expectation of the final price for the work, and it took 2 visits before I was able to leave the car there for the work to be completed. Once the work was underway, communication was great, they finished ahead of the promised schedule, the car is clean and the install looks and works great! The technician, Jacob, took ample time with me to review all the features and to ensure functionality of my CarPlay setup. Very happy with the finished product.

It's been 3 days, and so far, so good. Jorge offered *EXCELLENT* customer service. I presented Car Toys with a challenging job, and my expectations were met! Thank you!!

I had my factory car radio swapped out and had car toys install an alpine radio with Apple car play, blue tooth etc. unfortunately after the install I couldn’t pick up radio stations without getting static noise and stations dropping in and out. I went back to car toys multiple times, they switched out the radio, ordered a different plug that took months to get into the store. I was back to the store at least 6 different times before they finally figured out that the radio transmitter had been plugged in to an AM frequency or something a rather. I spend hours of my time calling car toys and trips back and forth dropping of my truck. For a professional company that does auto electronics, I would have expected this would have been resolved on my first visit back when shown the issue. Tony, the store manger was always helpful and has a good Customer Service manner, however incompetence really let this store down and subsequently I will not be doing business with car toys in the future

Definitely give a 5/5! Seriously loved the customer service, they definitely delivered more than I expected and kept me under $2K for a whole set up. 🥳🥰 Thank You car toys.

These guys are awesome! We had a full system installed in an older Ford Bronco by the crew at Car Toys off Halsey in Portland. The manager Travis was awesome to work with. He helped us select the right system for our project. He was super easy to work with, professional, and experienced. The installer was super meticulous and we were so impressed by his work. Looks flawless! I was so nervous about the retrofit to the older dash and he makes it!!!We added a sophisticated alarm system to an old truck, and I couldn’t be happier. I visited another car toys in Portland, and was immediately turned off by the sales team. Not friendly at all. Travis and his crew deserves a 5 star. Rating. Go see these guys, everyone in the office was amazing! Thanks to that group of professionals for doing a great job. We will be back for sure!!!

I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, I had them Install a key, anti theft system, speakers, radio and a sub. All at a great price. I got into a accident that wasn’t covered by the warranty the sub got unhooked and the fuses got all messed up and they fixed it all just with cost of labor. These guys do great work! Would definitely recommend
