I took a load in to these guys and I forgot my wallet at home but didn't realize it until I was unloaded they held on to my check for like 8 months I had completely forgotten about it they finally called me and said "did you want to come get this Check" it was a $400 check very honest that earned my loyalty forever thanks guys!
took a couple hundred dollars of non furris to them 2nd of july 2024 never recieved check spoke to office personal 3 times over last couple months with no call backs or emails very poor office management. check or not they have lost my business for good
Kosta Scrap Metal is very good place to scrap your cars and none ferrous metal Aluminum wheels copper wire, etc.. Steve is good who run the dock and give you the best price in town ,I am with Kosta scrap metal for 15 years
Showed up with a tub of Aluminum and found out 25% of the tub was copper with coating on it that made it look like it was aluminum. Both Steven and Eric went though the tub and separated it for me. Taking my scrap metal to the Kostas and knowing they will not try to take advantage of me is HUGE. Thank you Steven and Eric.
Been bringing all my scrap to kosta for decades I helped build the place and always been treated as such. Best scrap yard around as for the guy who recently posted and cried about his whopping 100 lbs of steel and not getting the red carpet save up your metal until you have a reasonable amount and you might get treated better better

I have used this outfit for several years. Found them satisfactory. Not anymore. There payment system has always been clunky but acceptable. I am currently sitting on a bad check from Kosta's. Th check bounced around the mail system for some time. Kosta's stopped payment due to it being 100 days old. I have bank fees and Kosta's wants another charge for making check good. It is my money! Not worth the agravation.
I shouldn't even be reviewing this cuz i don't want big lines to wait in but they pay more across the scrap spectrum than the other places in town. Great help on the scales and nice art on the office manager.
considering going here for over 10-15 years they have been fantastic with communicating and treatment will always still refer people this way best I can. Stop by visit them see what they can do for you with there skills and understanding. My dad had good relations with steve when I wasn't around he treated him well.
Very nice company pays the most for scrap metal and steve is the best worker there!!!i do scrap metal from when i was a kid, helped my older brothers and we used to go there all the time and they payed top dollar always and now as well just be honest to them and they will be honest to you too. I used to go to another metal place in town for years. Then I was told about Kosta by a friend. After going to Kosta I will go no where else. The staff is very professional, and friendly. For years I dealt with a scrapyard that advertised “best prices in town”. And I believed them, but NOT everyone was paid the same. I received “special” rates that I carried on me had Show the guy running the scale of each time. I thought it was unfair but hey I was getting twice the price as a lot of other folks So why complain right? And then I went to Kostas, Purely by accident imagine my surprise when I received higher prices on all my nonferrous. Significantly higher prices like $.20-$.60 and it wasn’t just me it across the board to anybody that walked in the door. I didn’t have to carry my rate sheet or remind the scale guy they were just being fair to everyone! They won my business and RESPECT so if you’re dealing with a company that Has a billboard claiming they pay the best price on scrap metal... Make them prove it! try Kostas they have good prices, helpful staff Best of all they are honest.
These guys are the best! Located in North Portland I drive all the way from Battle Ground, Washington to do business with them. They're farther drive than others from me but after 1 try, their service, helpfulness & friendliness had me hooked. Pricing is really decent as well. I get at least 30% or more than my local metal buyer! I'm a customer for life. Steve, Alex, John, Kosta himself and all the others are deserving of high praise!!

Never a hassle, show i.d. and they get to business. Very fast. Don't know the gentlemans name that helped me but very nice, and helped me with getting my first load done up fast and right. Thank you guys very much
I was very disappointed. I had to wait forever and the paid me for#2 copper when it was perfect shiny#1. They also mail your checks when when they are good and ready
1st off they close at 330 PM not 430 PM.
2nd, You MUST arrive in a vehicle in order for them to even take what you have.
3rd, ANY amount of metals that are not tin or steel requires them to hold payment for 3 business days before they issue any check. WHICH THEY TOLD ME AFTER THEY TOOK MY SCRAP AND ADDED TO THEIR PILE OF OF SCRAP. At that point it was a done deal and forced to wait until I receive a check in the mail.
My small amount of scrap metal totaled $19.80 but now I have to wait a week at least before I see any of it and I'll probably have to pay five dollars to even cash the check.
However customer service was not bad I guess more or less it's the long list of restrictions they have on making sales to the scrap yard and I understand it to a certain degree but I think they're a little bit overboard here in Oregon with the whole scrap metal thing.
This place is great! I love taking all of the metal I find on my adventures and bringing it here! The guy Dustin who was taking care of the cash was super friendly and had great music taste!
