Antioch Auto Trim in Baton Rouge, LA scores 95/100. Reviews are overwhelmingly positive about fast, friendly service, professionalism and honesty (Bill & Sandy), a clean shop, and very short waits. Pricing is rarely discussed. This isn’t a parts yard, so there’s no info on inventory variety, yard organization, or ease of finding parts. Noted complaints: confusion over whether inspections are still offered (signage/photos vs. recent calls), a refusal to accept a digital insurance PDF, and arriving during working time to find it closed. One reviewer says it’s closed for good—status uncertain.
Although Antioch Auto Trim has closed for good, I feel the need to change my 5 star review.
The last time I got my inspection sticker there, the owner would not accept the PDF of my proof of insurance, which I downloaded from my insurer's website.
He said I had to log in to the app in front of him because anyone can make a PDF. The app needed to be updated and I couldn't remember my password. (See my username, as my password is super complex and stored in a password manager.) There is no requirement in the Louisiana law that drivers must log in to their account in front of someone in order for them to accept your digital proof of insurance.
This genius made me go home and print the same PDF that he would not accept, because anyone can make a PDF, and bring back the hard copy. Foiled again!
My first instinct was to just go somewhere else, but I had to see him complete the process of what he apparently thought was a brilliant security measure.
I called my insurance company and told them what happened, and they said he should have accepted the PDF as it is a digital version of the document, which complies with the law.
If Antioch Auto Trim was still in business, I would never go there again.
Great people and Service, BUT they do NOT offer inspection stickers any more. It's incredibly misleading when you see the signs in the photos and all the reviews about inspection stickers, but the owner is straight forward about it if you call.
Great service. Quick and efficient. The man is also very kind and easy going. Every now and then you'll catch a glimpse of his sweet dog. Highly recommend this place to anyone needing an inspection sticker for the year.
I’ll always drive across town to go here. So quick, easy, and friendly. He even let me stay in the car with my baby while he did the inspection. 5 golden stars for sure!
