It's rather ridiculous that they're not open yet.. they're really milking it like people did with COVID... It's been quite some time now, get back to work or hire somebody who wants to work...

So I don’t understand the poor communication in letting the public know when facility scheduling changes occur at a DMV facility. When I checked the DMV website as to how the recent tragedy might affect other facilities the information indicated that other than the Wilmington site, the facilities would open at 10:00 am through this Holiday New Years week . However, the Delaware City facility apparently has other plans in mind because they were closed today on Tuesday December 30th. However, you would only know that if you drove down US route 13 and saw their Marquis Sign that the facility is closed until further notice. That is what the website should say not a sign that you read on the way to get your car inspected. When I waited for the 10:00 am opening many other Delaware drivers arrived, waited and then left. Websites should properly reflect the actual intentions of the operations and not provide misinformation. This demonstrates a total lack of communication in providing information to the public in which you are designed to serve. I speak not just in my behalf but on behalf of my fellow Delawareans.

Im so sad we lost a trooper ?. I've witnessed how the DMV CLERKS TREAT PEOPLE THERE.THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND THAT PEOPLE HAVE MENTAL ILLNESS. The state of Delaware should require all dmv agent to go to sensitively training to prevent this from happening and they should have mental detectors and security as well 2 state troopers on duty at all DMV locations. This is so wrong that we lost a state trooper 2days before Christmas. Im Praying for his Family. Dmv needs to do better and be more respectful to customers and deescalate. Every time im there the clerks extremely rude nasty and sarcastic and they make people want to snap. READ THE REVIEWS ABOUT HOW BAD THEY ARE BUT YET THE STATE OF DELAWARE LETS THERE CLERKS CONTINUE TO TREAT EVERYONE WORST THEN PRISON INMATES.

I went to get my car inspected at the DMV. During my visit at each building during the inspection , every employee was kind and wished me happy holidays. Going to get an inspection is always nerve-wracking, but to have people who are kind and respectful makes the visit much easier.

This place is dreadful always just awful. Waited 2.5 hours for registration sticker. The outside line was too long, I was told to go inside. I finally get to the booth greeted by a ride young girl. She says you know you have a red light ticket, well no I don’t as I would have paid it. I asked for ticket info since I haven’t gotten anything for it via mail. She replied in a sassy manner “I’m giving you a piece of paper right here” I asked again for the date, time, something, she again replied same manner same thing. I asked can I please pay it here? She was rude again - surprise! And said no, we don’t do that here, you need to leave pay it and get back in line. Seriously what a crap system. Sure I’ll wait another 2 plus hours for you to tell me something else. I left to call and pay my ticket, well, the citation info she gave me isn’t incorrect as it’s not registering on the pay by phone and their online payment site. So thanks DMV for being once again a waste of time and full of Incompetency! EDIT: Called the red light number and guess what the ticket was paid 5/2025. So yeah thanks DMV worker you wasted my time!

Told me I needed mail within 60 days for Real ID. Get to the kiosk after driving back and forth home for the lady to tell me I didn't need them cause my ID was already verified. Thanks for wasting my time. The workers were nice though.

Inspection lanes open at 11am on Wednesday and close at 7pm. I got there at 10:45 and was fifth in line. Lanes moved quickly. Land to pay was slow but my transaction went quickly.

I've never experienced such a rude woman supervisor in driver services. Instead of helping people she just wanted to get loud and nasty every time I tried to ask a question. I'd rather drive an hour south and get treated better!

To say the inspection staff is rude is to say almost nothing at all. It’s absolutely abusive every time. It’s a wonder they haven’t made the news repeatedly for fights breaking out. Maybe that’s just because Delaware has no local news outlets.

For the last one hour I’m here and they aren’t even showing any other series other than G000 I’m here sitting for an hour with B028 and last b series came an hour ago. They are sitting simply when us waiting over here. Seriously, they can split the series within themself there are 10 stations only 6 station working and all are looking after G000 series…. Very very worst behavior

Worst dmv ever they're rude especially the reyes chick. Try to be polite but when asked her a question she became rude with an attitude then wonders why she got the same attitude back, then threatened to cancel everything and throw you back in line, they dont answer questions and just like to try to rack money.

I needed to get my inspection done on my car in order to renew my tag. When I arrived on Wednesday at 11:30am there was four lines running and they seemed very busy. I decided to wait and was pleased that the whole process only took about 20 minutes. The inspector even recommended that I paid for the renewal online, so as to avoid that line.

I have gone to this DMV on three different occasions, and I was pleasantly surprised that I was in and out each time, in less than fifteen (15) minutes. The clerk who waited on me today was not pleasant at all. Other than that, I give kudos to this DMV.

We found the Delaware DMV to be a well run organization. The employees were all friendly and willing to answer all our questions. With the right documentation, my husband and I were able to get our Delaware driver's licenses within 30 minutes. We arrived before opening and there was already a line, but once the doors opened at 8 am the line moved quickly.

I mean, when anyone thinks of "DMV" they automatically get annoyed, HOWEVER, when I recently went 2 separate times; once for my license renewal and then for my Jeep renewàl Inspection, it wasn't Sooooo long. They have changed the way inside for number calling, and in the inspection lane there were 3 lanes open and flowing fast. Not to mention everyone was so nice!

The worst DMV customer experience I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a driver’s license in multiple states. To prepare for my visit I pulled up the DE DMV website to see what I needed to bring. The website was not smart-phone friendly so I struggled trying to find and then physically see the DMV guidance for new resident license transfers, which was a PDF with tiny font (zooming in and out and scrolling left to right made it difficult to follow). I gathered my paperwork, took off of work, and then headed to the Wilmington DMV location. I entered what can only be described as a loud, oversized cattle barn with row after row of metal benches and a lack of signage to know what to do or where to go. There were hundreds of people already waiting. After walking around a bit I went to the security desk (reception desk?) and told the guy I was here for a license transfer. He asked me what I brought and I rattled off my paperwork. He gave me a number and I took a seat, watching the flashing red boards run through combinations of letters and numbers. I watched closely to make sure I didn’t miss my number, having earlier watched a woman ahead of me in line at the security desk get gas-lighted after they skipped her number. I waited patiently for AN HOUR to be called. Finally my number came up and I went to my assigned window. I gave the guy my paperwork—including a water bill and an energy bill—only for him to tell me my energy bill didn’t qualify because it was dated more than 60 days ago. I said yes that’s because I have been getting e-bills ever since then, but had only just declared residency and so now needed to switch my license over. He said he had to see a more recently dated PIECE OF PAPER with my address. I gave him a PAPER ad from my health insurer but unfortunately there was no post-marked date, so that didn’t work. I said I could show him the Delmarva app with my most recent bill. He said it didn’t count unless there was a PHYSICAL PIECE OF PAPER. I checked the date on my phone (still 2025) and told him all my bills are e-bill and I don’t get USPS mail. He told me to TURN OFF E-BILL AND COME BACK. Difficult to comprehend in today’s day and age when even my tax returns can be submitted online. When I told him I had waited for over an hour [for such terrible service] he responded by saying I should have checked beforehand. Oh, had I tried. So much for “first class service from the first state.” Unfortunately it’s just poor customer service and organizational dysfunction in an entity funded largely by fees and tax payer dollars. 0/10 for the experience. I will be sharing my feedback with DMV Director Anthony and the legislators of my new home state.

Crystal was absolutely amazing! I had the pleasure of being helped by Crystal at the Wilmington DMV, and she truly made what can often be a stressful experience feel smooth, easy, and even pleasant. From the moment I approached her window, she greeted me with a warm smile and a professional, calm demeanor. She was knowledgeable, patient, and took the time to make sure all my documents were in order. Even when there was a small hiccup, she handled it with grace and helped me find a solution without making me feel rushed or overwhelmed. It’s rare to find someone who brings both efficiency and kindness to their role, and Crystal does exactly that. Thank you for your excellent service—you made a big difference in my day!

Only 3 out of about 20 service windows for driver’s license processing were open — for half the day. That’s completely unacceptable for a packed DMV, especially on a Monday. The wait times are ridiculous, and people are just standing around with no updates. This location seriously needs better staffing and organization.

I just wanted to take a moment to sincerely thank DMV Supervisor Mandy for her exceptional help during my visit. She kindly offered to print a document I had forgotten, which made a huge difference and saved me a lot of stress. My renewal case was a bit complex, but she remained incredibly patient and supportive throughout. It's rare to come across someone so thoughtful and professional—thank you again for going above and beyond.

I had a decent time there. My only issue is the lady that helped me at the desk, she kept coughing in her hand and touching my paper work to which I found very unsanitary. I scrubbed as much as I can with hand sanitizer but now the next day I start to feel sick.

Had a quick and very good experience here. We had someone called April helping me. She went far and beyond to be as informative about this whole process of our title transfer. She is amazing! So patient and nice. I had to go in my car a couple of times and she was absolutely patient and polite!

Nice and clean building. Easily accessible via DART bus route 40 (and others too). Extremely efficient & helpful staff. They take even more care of you if you've a disability. Will give your ID card right away so you don't have to wait. A huge shout out to Marie for all her help.

They finally made a machine for people like me! Hallelujah ???? If you’re like me and are losing your license twice a year at minimum, you NO LONGER have to wait in line until your number ‘G13503’ is called at station 13b. Now, you DO NOT even need proof of residence, birth, age, or anything of that sort ?? You go STRAIGHT to this machine without talking to ANYBODY, type in your name, give it $20, let it take your picture, and out spits A BRAND NEW ID ? You will be in and out in 10 minutes flat ? They should replace every DMV employee with a machine!!!

Went for our new Tesla registration and experience is good. We had to wait for an hour due to heavy rush but when our turn arrived, the registration took 10 minutes.

A seamless experience for my first real DMV trip. I moved to DE and had to do the full haul - new license, vehicle inspection, and re-title the car to get new plates. I was in and out in 1.5 hours, amazing! The title side had the longest wait. If you can, avoid going on Wednesdsy evening. I got there at 4 on Wednesday and was sailing through until 5:15 or so when it got busy. Luckily they brought on more staff at that time, but wait times were still longer. All staff members were friendly and incredibly helpful. Such a nice team and they helped me figure out what to do, where to go, etc.

Well they are fast yes, but sometimes you can't get a solution on the first trip so you may need to go a couple times......that's the sad part
