I paid 25.00 for removal of my mattress and they said would pick up Monday morning my husband is 83 and blind and I have heart problems I had to pay someone to wrap in plastic because they won’t take it unless it’s completely wrap well today is Wednesday afternoons n and I called still no response

They cannot get me picked up reliably. Last year they missed pickup nine different weeks, missing either trash or recycle or both. Sometimes late by a day or two and other times not picked up at all. Now this year they've missed again. I call customer service but they just send a note to operations. I have never heard from a manager or anyone in authority about these issues. My neighbor has Republic and they didn't miss a single scheduled pick-up last year except for the bad weather day that SEM also missed (I didn't count that week in the nine missed weeks).

Venay or whatever her name is is extremely rude and unprofessional - I’m not sure how many times I’ve encountered trashtech not picking up my trash but also it says a lot on what kind of people they hire. Trash tech hires trash. So if that’s what you want in a trash company you found your place.

* DO NOT SIGN UP. YOU WILL REGRET IT. CALL EVERGREEN FIRST…….. While initially service was good. Casella took over an went down hill fast. Since Sept I’ve been trying to get them to pickup their trash bins. If you sign up with them, plan to have missed pickups, customer service tells you just leave extra trash outside and they will get it next pick up and no refunds, no one comes to get bins. The drivers were the only good thing about them. Evergreen offered better pricing. (What Casella charged per visit was what Evergreen charges for 1/4 billing and does Trash / Recycle WEEKLY). Until someone gets these bins from my house (and my neighbors) I’ll keep updating your social, Google review and emailing for legal documentation of your abandoned trash cans that killed my front lawn, moved to side walk now they are in a public walkway.

Not sure what’s going on because we used to have great service until about a month ago and now I am going on 5 weeks that my recycle has not been picked up on time or at all. Phone call after phone call falls on deaf ears. Terrible service. I’m definitely looking for a new company.

Trash tech aka SEM are the worst company ever! If you need to communicate with your rep or the Customer service make sure to talk really really slow and they may be able to comprehend what you're trying to relate to them. In the words of Jethro Tull thick as a brick from the person that picks up the trash to whomever the CEO is.

As a 15 year business owner myself, this might be one of the most poorly run businesses I have ever worked with. In the last 4 years, we have had well over a dozen times where trash and/or recycling didn’t get picked up for multiple cycles. Mix that with storms and wind and we find ourselves chasing trash around the neighborhood. To make things worse, rather than being apologetic and working to rectify the situation, customer service speaks to you as though you, the customer, are the problem.

The worst experience I have ever had with a company. I lost track of how many weeks went by that trash was not picked up. 8? I was told it wasn’t there, the driver didn’t see it, there’s substitutes, the truck is different than the recycling truck ( recycling was picked up ). I was told to move the trash to the other side of the mailbox after being in the same spot for 20 years. Still not picked up. I asked for a refund which I never heard back about. The Better Business Bureau can probably help.

This has been the fourth time my trash has not been picked up since I have started getting my trashed picked up by renamed SEM trash. The latest time I called twice and wrote in 2 times with no trash being picked up. The people you talk to on the phone are not helpful in resolving the issues. I would not recommend using this service.

Despite 5 phone calls and numerous email exchanges with Kaitlyn and Sarah and another “manager” my trash remains on the curb 10 days later bc they apparently can’t communicate with the pickup crew. Absolutely a disgrace of a company.

Absolutely terrible service. Missed trash pickups multiple times with no update from company. Takes 5 minutes to type a social media post or an email to customers letting them know their trash won’t be picked up and when a make up day will be. Yet have the fortitude to raise rates every year. Everytime I called for a missed pick up id get an attitude on the phone. Trash tech (SEM) and Evergreen are both terrible. Don’t recommend.

SEM is the worst. They took over for trash tech so I inherited them. They are not consistent with pick up. The holiday schedule is not consistent. Missed last week pick up due to the holiday and then they didn’t bother to show up to pick up two weeks worth of recycling. I called to cancel my service with them and because it’s mid quarter they won’t refund me what I already paid for the rest of the quarter even though they aren’t providing the service anymore. The woman on the phone was rude and ignorant and not helpful at all. Stay far away from SEM.

WORST company I have ever dealt with. DO NOT TRUST this company. I am on week number two of no trash service which I already paid for because I do auto pay. Calling the office is a waste of time because they just lie to you and ensure that it will be taken care of and it never is. This happens at least twice every month. I canceled the service and they can’t even come and pick up their trash cans!!!!!! HORRIBLE. I don’t know how they are even in business.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. FIND A DIFFERENT ONE. They will pick up your trash whenever they feel like it, sometimes two days later, sometimes a week, sometimes never. And then after you cancel and schedule a date to have your cans picked up, they still won’t show up to take the cans away. If I could give 0 stars I would. Go literally anywhere else.

The drivers constantly drive trucks into my mature tree branches near sidewalk causing them to break. They could make the slight effort to avoid hitting the trees since the street is wide enough but they choose not to. My trees are getting destroyed and I'm forced to clean up the mess. The trucks also leak oil, so all you see is splattered oil stains right in front of everyone's driveway. Called to make a complaint and never heard back from anyone.

If I could give a negative rating I would. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE! They haven't picked up my trash in a month so I have a garage full of trash. I called every week to inquire and was told they would be out the next day. LIES! I canceled the service and am waiting for them to pick up the cans and was told they won't take any of the trash but yet set me a bill for a month they NEVER SERVICED! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND MONEY!

Started charging my account for 2 cans and 2 recycling when we only had one of each, no customer service, managers were rude. They only gave us a ‘credit’ and not a refund for the error and it was like pulling teeth trying to leave the company and get our credit refunded. Don’t use Trash Tech/SEM, stay away!!

Can yall just do better at your job please? You continue to charge me for service when my trash doesn’t get picked up. It’s been a month and you haven’t shown up. Update June 2024 - Cancelled and went with Liberty. Slightly cheaper and hopefully better service.

I’ve had their service for 3 years and since they changed ownership it’s abysmal. They have missed trash days and, in the past 10 weeks, only picked up recycling twice(after multiple calls). Customer service is hit or miss on attitude and ability to help. I call, no pick up. I call ahead as a “reminder “, no pick up. Stated I should be refunded for the services they are not rendering, told we don’t do that. What exactly does a trash company that doesn’t pick up trash do? Changing service.

Awful. Everything in one truck, and if they show up on your scheduled day or not seems to depend on what kind of mood they are in. But the final straw is when I requested they pick up yard waste. I have been with them for years, but this is the first time I've requested yard waste pick up. Bagged or bundled, which was fine. The branches are neatly tied with string. The tall grass was shoved into bags it doesn't really fit in, but it's bundled. It was not picked up. When I called, she checked and said the driver said he didn't see it. The yard waste was literally less than a foot from the trash can and you can't miss it. It's been 6 weeks of calling them and the yard waste is still not picked up. I sent them an email today telling them I was discontinuing service due to this and then I got a call back. I am having to get a friend with a truck to come get this for me, when it was covered under the service I paid for. I could not be more unhappy with them. There is a reason they have a 1.7 rating.

Don’t bother separating your trash and recycling. Called more than once to complain that it all went in the same truck and nothing changed. They were great before the new owners took over. Quality plummeted after. *addition- I canceled my service in December. The two cans STILL have not been picked up. I’ve called 6 times.after the 5th they dropped two more cans off instead of picking up the old ones. Absolute WORST customer service I have ever dealt with. Completly inept. If I could give no stars I would.

Last time Trash Tech picked up my trash was January 30th. Supervisor Joan hasn’t returned any of my 3 messages. Mary and Tammy have taken my complaint on 4 different occasions with a 48hr turnaround time to resolve my issue. No one calls me back and I call again! All I want is my last payment of $118 reimbursed plus $40 for the last 5 wks of missed service and you can come pick up their containers that have been waiting at the end of my driveway since February 5th. I’m ready to be done with your company. No hard feelings. I just need reliable service!

I don’t think I’ve ever experienced this level of unprofessionalism. I moved into my 1st home and signed up for their service and they didn’t deliver/ pick up my trash about 3 WEEKS after starting service… I of coursed called to see what was happening and they said it was that their trash trucks were down. Since then, for the next three months, there were weeks were they would just not show up, I would call ask what was happening, and they said “they’ll be there today”, no truck would come, and my trash piled up, I would call again, and they’d say they put it “a service request” or said there were new drivers, etc. I finally decided to cancel and service, and guess what? My trash is still there and it has been for the last 3 weeks, just piling up.. when I call they say they don’t know when they’ll be coming by to pick up the bins. Please don’t throw your money in the trash, literally, this company is a SCAM and I have no idea how they are STILL in service. My mind is blown.

I've been a Trash Tech customer for the past 7 years, and what started as a competitively priced and reliable company has devolved into an overpriced mess. Numerous times this summer, garbage/recycling pickup was performed late without explanation. Then pickup just stopped happening, or only happened in one portion of our neighborhood. We were informed that our driver was no longer with the company and they were looking to hire another. Once they hired another driver, pickup was again missed, this time because the driver "ran out of gas". All of this with a backdrop of increasing prices over the last several quarters. After 3+ weeks without service, I am taking my business elsewhere. I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for trash service in Cecil County.

If I could give zero stars, I would. All summer my trash has been missed. Driver claimed at one point that I didn't put my trash down, they had a picture. Described picture driver took, wasn't my house. I called on July 11th because my trash was missed again. I mentioned that I would have to cancel if the trash pickup didn't improve, guy on phone says, "No we don't want that" I'm like fix this then. Today the driver drove by and didn't pick up my trash. I called, and was told I cancelled my services...what???? I never said such a thing, told them to listen to the call, of course that's not happening. I am tempted to take them to small claims to get some compensation for all the missed pick ups. I have another provider now. Don't use these guys, they have no customer service skills and they lie, lie, lie.

Several times this year they have not picked up on time. The last time they told us a truck broke down. They said they would be out the next day but they didn’t come until the next week. Meanwhile, our trash is overflowing. This week it happened again. The secretary we speak to always seems to have an attitude and is extremely unhelpful. They also use a fully automated arm that picks the trash can up and dumps it in the truck, they don’t even get out of the truck, which is not a problem except they just leave the trash cans out in the street or in the middle of our driveway so we can’t pull in without getting out and moving the cans. That’s just laziness. Needless to say, we are switching trash providers ASAP to Patriot. Going from a company that has 1.8 stars to a company that has 5 stars. (Also Patriot is less expensive!!) As you can see from the other reviewers, stay FAR away from them!

Missed my pickup and I called and they told me it would get picked up the next day. The next day came and never came so called again they said they promised it would get picked up today so left it out and still nothing now it’s storming and the wind is blowing my trash everywhere since it is now over flowing.

My honest advice, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! The customer service is the worst, rude and unprofessional . I have to call EVERY week for trash to be picked up and they always have an excuse as to why they cannot pick up. I have seen with amazement, how they put garbage AND recycling in the same truck! They do not have the separation to collect both, they throw it inside the same compartment! Now I want to go with another company and the very rude representative tells me that they will not return my money and that I have to wait until September. I asked to speak with his Supervisor or Manager and she told me that they would tell me the same thing and cut me off the call. This company hooks you by offering you discounts and makes you pay for the mistake! Again, do not fall for their lies because you will waste your time and your money!!! UPDATE: The dumpster has been outside my house since Thursday afternoon. I called Monday and Tuesday and they told me I have to wait until Friday, even though my service is paid until September! The representative gave me the idea that they are aware of my review in google.. I am guessing they're making me pay for my opinion by leaving my trash unattended. AGAIN, my service is paid until 09/30/2022 and they don't want to do their job. UPDATE 11/04/22. I terminated service on 09/30/2022 and they still have not recovered their containers. I have called 3 times to request that they come to collect the containers. UPDATE 11/21/22. The containers continue in front of my house damaging the grass. I've already lost count of the number of times I've called to get them picked up. UPDATE 12/02/22. TWO months waiting for the garbage cans to be collected and nothing happens.

Update: The customer service rep called me back and offered a $10 credit, however I told her multiple times we will not be renewing with Trash Tech. She said she was going to go to management and see what they can do and be in touch. That was three weeks ago. Still have not received a call back. I understand mistakes happen, we're human. But the way the customer service team treats paying customers is astonishing and one of the main reasons we will not be staying with Trash Tech any longer. We made the mistake of locking in for a year and we are counting down the months until its over. Please be aware of this. Our trash wasn't picked up on Monday and I called to see if they could come back out to pick it up. The woman I spoke with said she will have someone call me back tomorrow. I never received the call, so I called them Wednesday morning. After being on hold for 20 minutes, there was no manager available. She said one will give me a call back,. I asked when as I'm not confident someone will call me back and she wasn't able to provide an ETA. This is my second issue with Trash Tech not picking up our trash or recycling. They increased their rates significantly due to the gas prices and their customer service is not helpful or nice. They are condescending and don't seem to want to help.
