After a conversation on the phone,I took srveral items to the center. There was no place to put half of the items that I brought and no person in the kiosk to help me. Not so great a place as the person on the phone said it was. GOOD LUCK!,,,,
I was traveling thru the states, and I had throw bear spray away, and some other special stuff. They helped me out super fast, and they were so so friendly. Thank you again!!! 🥳
Would be better if had light bulbs recycling too. But appreciate that this is available! Can drop off any electronics, card board, Styrofoam, alkaline batteries, and used motor oil.
Offers residential recycling drop-off for the usual (glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, aluminum and steel cans) as well as some specialty items like expanded polystyrene styrofoam (EPS), batteries (alkaline and rechargeable), car oil and oil filters, TVs, and household electronics. You can bring just about any household and hazardous waste here on weekend events. During normal hours and days a great place to recycle styrofoam, free, among other recyclable items including plastics, glass, paper and cardboard. Also electronics of all kinds. Used motor oil too.
These folks are awesome. After dropping off a TV and looking around, a guy in a truck pulled up to see if we needed help. He directed us to the household waste area (up the hill) and I was surprised to see a dozen workers happy to pull the cans of old paint and stuff out of my trunk. Fantastic and friendly service. Thank you!!
I went to facility for the first time and was highly impressed. I was disposing of a few electronic items and an old battery from a battery backup. Everything was so organized, clean, and easy to maneuver and it was free !
Minus STARS!!! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I accidentally put my passport, social security card, birth certificate and all personal important papers in the recycling. I followed the trail to Pigeon Point at Republic Recycling in New Castle. I explained my dilemma and the receptionist said there was no way to go thru the hundreds of tons of recycling. Even though I had a metal rechargeable battery in with all my papers. I thought they could hit the receptacles of recycling with a magnet or metal detector. She kept saying, "No Way", too bad, nothing I can do. I drove all the way from Milford this day to be told, no way.
So after they pick up my recycle bin where does the contents of my container actually go ? Where do the PET and LDPE plastic bottles really go, recycled to where and how ? DE recycles - prove it! The dirty residential recycling market is dead, there is no market for these materials. The residents of DE are being hoodwinked by this failed program -- your recyclables end up in the dump ! FACT !
Very helpful staff. Pro tip: If you're bringing a bunch of smaller electronics to drop off, bring them in a cardboard box that you're prepared to part with, because it's self-service in a kind of trailer or shipping container thing, so you might not have anywhere to put them if you're keeping the container you brought them in.
I am very happy that Delaware has this resource to recycle household goods, electronics, paper, and even paints. It is not in the greatest neighborhoods, being right off of Rt. 13 in New Castle. However, it only takes minutes to drop off your items once you get in the complex. There are designated areas for certain things. Just ask at the guard station right at the gate, and the person will gladly tell you where to drive. Check out DSWA's website for all the info.
Easy to find simple clear directions no paperwork pull in don't be a dick drop your stuff off the appropriate containers drive out five minutes I was done absolutely freaking love it this is proper governmental work
