I'll try keeping this as short as I can. My family and I was on a road trip for the Christmas holiday. We started having some loss of power issues (no check engine light) in Southern Utah and with no shops open, we limped it to our destination in Gilbert, AZ. Took our rig (2000 Ford Excursion w/ V-10) to Sunland Auto and Randy was who took my information and such. They diagnosed the issue to being a bad catalytic converter. They called, informed me of the problem and the cost of repair, I gulped (those suckers are expensive, I know, but still hurts) and said do what needs to be done. Super quick version - That catalytic converter went bad while in California, was told it would be covered under warranty, it wasn't due to sublet being used for initial repair, Sunland Auto (Scott) reimbursed me still. Thank you, Randy and Scott, for working with me and taking care of my family the way you did. Not so quick version - Sunland Auto got it replaced and I got the rig back. All went well; we then went to Southern California for leg two of our trip and the rig ran well all the way there. While in CA, I was leaving to go to church and noticed something was off and limped the rig back around the block. Got it into a shop the next day. Long story short there, the catalytic converter was bad. I called Randy at Sunland Auto and explained the situation, prior to taking it to another shop. He was sorry to hear I was having car troubles and let me know if it is in fact the catalytic converter, that Sunland Auto is part of a nationwide warranty program and it would be covered, so to take it to a shop, get it diagnosed, and circle back. So, once it was diagnosed to be the catalytic converter, I worked with Randy on next steps. He told me there were some shops in network with the warranty provider, but those ended up not working out for me at the time. So, I end up calling the nationwide warranty provider for some insight, they give me a couple more shops and also tell me I can go out of network, I would just need to submit the claim myself. I decided to go that route as we needed to get back on the road to head home to Montana. We get a new catalytic converter and make it home. I work on the warranty claim. I get informed that because a sublet was used to do the repair, there is no warranty. I understood this to be that I used a shop that was disqualified and was disappointed. I call Randy, explain the situation to him and he collects information from me, who I spoke with, etc., and get clarification for himself. He gets back to me and says he also must have been misinformed about the use of sublets. He asks me to send him the invoices of the shops I had do the work in CA and he would send the situation to the owner (Scott I believe is the owner). While I wait a few days, I reread the email from the nationwide warranty and realize the reason they will not honor it is because Sunland Auto used a sublet to do the catalytic converter replacement, therefore the was no warranty. Now I understood that situation better. I reach out to Randy via email, forwarding him my conversation with the nationwide warranty rep and share my new realized understanding and ask if this is the situation. Randy forwarded my email to Scott, and Scott reached out asking me to call him so we can work out me getting reimbursed. We got it worked out and I was reimbursed for the charge of having the catalytic converter replaced by Sunland Auto. It wasn't as smooth as one would hope, but I am grateful that Sunland Auto cared enough about me to still be willing to honor their work and reputation and reimburse me for the charged amount since it could not be done via warranty. Thank you again Randy for being available to answer my questions and concerns, and working on making sure I was taken care of, and to Scott for getting me taken care of.

If you own a Corvette—from C4 all the way through the C8—Sunland Mesa Automotive is absolutely the place to bring it. They have true specialists who understand the uniqueness of these cars and treat them with the respect they deserve. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a very friendly Steve or Sam, and the professionalism only continues from there. I was genuinely impressed by the level of knowledge, clear communication, and overall service. Most importantly, I was not upsold on parts or procedures, which unfortunately has happened to me at other shops in the past. That alone speaks volumes about their integrity. You can confidently trust your Corvette with Steve or Scott and the entire team. I give Sunland Mesa Automotive my highest recommendation—and that’s exactly why I drive an hour and twenty minutes to bring my Corvette here. They are well worth the trip.

Most helpful mechanics I have found. Prompt, positive experience. Explain everything that that was done. This was important to a retired widow. Really would go back for assistance.

Came to get transmission redone. That went fine but noticed afterwards the headlight went out while under their possession. Guys there would do NOTHING but charge me full price for parts and labor to replace the light claiming no possible responsibility.

These guys are THE BEST! Absolutely kind, helpful, good people in an organized shop. They really helped me out sneaking me in during a busy holiday time! I recommend them to everyone! Thank you Scott! Great shop!

I had an exceptionally good experience with Tom at Sunland Auto. I had a large issue with my car and he was very patient and kind, answering all my questions. I didn’t end up getting serviced there, because it is cheaper to just get a new car versus repair my car, based on the car’s worth, I would recommend working with Tom at Sunland auto.

I drive from the West Valley to the East Valley because I never have to question the quality of work these men provide. Top tier work. They always get it done correctly and fast. They never hassle me like other shops do to upsell me on stuff. I did ask for recommendations and they provided a list of things that will need to be looked at but never pushed me into doing them. Which is nice because it made me feel comfortable asking questions without feeling like im getting tricked into buying stuff I dont need or pressured in anyway to get fixes done quickly (obviously, im sure they would raise concerns if needed). The men there are always nice and courteous. I can tell by others who seem to get thier cars worked on like myself, more than once, that they are happy to be there and like myself have trusted them to get the job done with little question of the quality of work. Very smart and passionate people. Very sad I am moving because I dont think I will find another trustworthy shop like this one here.

We take all our vehicles to Sunland Auto for service. Have done so for many years. They are honest, reliable and reasonably priced.

They are welcoming and got me in and out in a timely manner. They were attentive to me and why I was there. Began servicing my vehicle right away. I will go back.

I called and and made an appointment for my older Toyota pickup. I brought it in early that day and was told 149 for an alignment. fair price, so I said ok call me when complete. a few hours later I was called and told I needed to pay an extra $50 because we took some shims out when we did the upper ball joints. frustrating because if it was out of alignment that would have been included in the 149 and it was just two bolts that all in would have taken less than 10 minutes to accomplish. I still agreed and said the 200 was ok. they then told me that i had to grease the front bearings and tighten them, and to change the inner tie rods for an additional $800-900!! Without this the alignment would not "really" work. I was a mechanic when I was younger and knew that as long as they got it close it would be fine for what I use it for. I asked them not to do the overpriced work and just align the truck. At this point, they pulled the truck out and let it sit by the road until closing when I came by to see if it was complete. It was not. They didn't get the extra money so it was not worth their time to do what i had scheduled with them to do. They said tomorrow..... I asked for the keys and left. I feel sorry for the people that go to places like this and are taken advantage of. If you don't do what they want to upcharge you for they don't work on it at all????? I was looking for a new shop and found a dishonest waste of my time. Please research what they tell you they need to do. Or, get a referral for a shop that doesn't take advantage of people.

I've been taking my and my sons' cars to Sunland for decades. I've referred countless people to them over the years, and they've all been just as impressed. You'll not find a more honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy auto shop with nicer people than Scott and his crew at Sunland.

Sunland Auto is the best little family owned shop in the valley. Scott and his most excellent employees strive to get it done right, at the best cost possible and in a timely manner. Sunland took care of my Ridgeline up until she was too costly to keep at 16 yrs old and 270,000 miles. And they now take care of my Honda Civic. She is still running strong at 161K miles. Scott takes awesome care of the single females and also elderly folks I’ve seen him interact with in the shop. There is no selling you extra parts that are not required. If repairs are necessary they will let you know if it’s immediately needed or can wait for awhile and will even sit down with you to explain what is happening in understandable talk. Outstanding experience this week using Sunland Auto. After using another mechanic for years, we decided to give Sunland a try. They got both our cars repaired this week, replacing belts and topping up AC in just a few hours for a very fair price. But, by far, the customer service is what set them apart. I hate trying to get my car fixed - the car has to be there all day or overnight, I often come away with an upsell list, and I'm never sure whether the mechanic is being completely honest. Sunland was NOT like that at all. The employees in the front office ooze kindness and authenticity. They were efficient and the process was so smooth. We'll use them again in the future!

They're very helpful and knowledgeable. They get me in and out and on my way quickly. Very friendly service, I bring my car here with any issues knowing it will be taken care of.

Recommended by a friend. My Sunland Auto Service experience was top notch. Competent and excellent service. Brought in Wednesday morning, they got the parts they needed and I picked up next day at noon. Labor charge was fair for the amount of work that was needed. I'll be back for all my auto service needs. The owner, Scott, is running a great business - very competent mechanics and service with a warranty.

Very Pleased with the timely manner they fixed my Vehicle. Scott was very helpful letting me know what was going on the entire way. I recently have taken in my work van and my personal Tahoe both needing different services and just recently the Tahoe was in need for AC repair when I just had it done maybe two months ago I just want to say thank you to the owner Scott and I believe Tony is his name That has helped me on several occasions, On this occasion, they were both extremely kind concerned, and even though I don’t think the first time I took it in the condenser was part of the repair however, Scott covered it under warranty, which I am extremely pleased with For consistency, sincerity and workmanship, I am glad to endorse Sunland automotive as a shop that still holds true to what they probably started Their business practice with, And that would be honest work a fair price customer service making sure the job is done correctly. I have been using this repair shop for years now. Just had my daughter’s car worked on to fix the A/C. I am here to tell you that I have never had a bad experience. They are always pleasant to work with and it is clear they want to do the right thing for me and my vehicles. Grateful for a quality local shop. Thank you Scott and Crew. You guys are amazing. Amazing service & help! I travel through the Phoenix area 3-6 times a year; these are my go-to guys for quality repair. This trip, my oil pump went out on a Friday afternoon. Sunland got me in first thing Monday morning and had my truck back to me by Tuesday afternoon. Under the quoted price! I can't tell you how much I appreciate you getting me back on the road in record time!

I've taken my vehicle to Sunland Auto service for a few years now. Each time has been great service, personable and professional. These guys know there stuff! I do trust them to correct my cars problems or just do an oil change in a timely professional manner.

I recently bought an old Chevy van that I want to be sure is as mechanically sound as I can get it. The previous owner had some repairs done at Sunland, so I decided to follow suit and go to them for assistance. I am so glad that I did, Scott and everyone there at Sunland took great care of me and my van! They are very courteous and were appreciative of my business, and I am greatly appreciative of the service. I was made fully aware of what to expect, and during the whole process I received text messages about everything related to the repairs. My van was given a thorough inspection and when I received the call about the estimates everything found was fully explained to me and broken down by what to prioritize. I felt that what I was being told was truthful and coming from a place as if it were their own or a family member's vehicle. The price I paid for the repairs was definitely fair. They even threw in a few small repairs at no cost to me when they found additional things after giving me the quote. That's the definition of Grade-A customer service! I took my car in last Monday after it started acting up Friday nite . I was going to take it to another location sat because I was afraid my car would not hold until Monday but after reading the reviews of that place I decided to wait until Monday and take it in to Sunland auto instead. They were very helpful they were quick and the price was reasonably...if they had more stars to give I would give them more. Thank you so much *After 5 years still taking my cars to this place scott and the guys are very good at their job! Very reasonable prices ! They will check ur car and tell u what u need to fix/replace and nothing extra ! Like other places do ...is hard to find places with good moral compass now a days !

Scott and Steve were outstanding. I took my Sprinter Van into them because I was leaking diesel and coolant and needed to pass emissions. They quickly diagnosed the issues, sourced the parts for repair, and got me up and running in half the time I anticipated. Steve and Scott provided the level of attention to detail and prompt service I expected at MB, but never received. These guys understand customer service. Not to mention they really know how to hustle a large vehicle around their parking lot. Odd to say, but I'm looking forward to working with these guys again in the future (even though I won't want to)!

I don't think you can find a better, more honest, more knowledgeable auto shop in the Valley. I've been bringing multiple vehicles here for myself and 2 kids for 10+ years. Scott, current owner and previous manager, and current manager Tom, have been angels on my shoulder through some problematic vehicles. A good auto shop can be so hard to find. Look no further.
