Do yourself a favor and stay AWAY!! bought a car guaranteed even paid extra for five more days, it had all green check marks, high score car so I bought it book because it’s clean… so wrong, inspector forgot to mention that the whole suspension is messed up on top of that there’s a warning sign that there’s an electrical problem but was not disclosed and warning was “conveniently” changed on the screen.. called them up and all the rep would say is am sorry that is not arbitrate-able.. now am stuck with an overpriced car.. word of advice: stay away and go to auctions where you at least see and turn on the cars for yourself

Also my Rep. Favi Montes is so helpful and very easy to work with. So responsive and she calls sellers to negotiate with them to get me the best deal, I really recommend Openlane to any dealership.
I purchased a 2018 Accord through Open Lane Auto Auction with a green light and no reported issues. However, when the car arrived, it barely ran. We attempted arbitration, and after taking it to a Honda dealership, they determined the wiring appeared to have been tampered with. The dealership was unable to fix the problem and believed that even installing a new wire harness might not resolve the issue. A second shop gave us the same assessment.
Throughout this process, we received little to no assistance or communication from the auction. Having purchased thousands of vehicles from other online auctions without any problems, this has been a very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, Open Lane is not an auction we will be buying from again.
Shitty tactics bid on cars for the 3 day limit just for them to put it on absolute sale last day so literally bidding and staying highest bidder on cars is usless
I've been buying cars for a long time through Open Lane, I've had my share of arbitration cases. I just feel like any arbitration case that I've been in, I feel like Open Lane truly does not have the customer in mind when arbitrating case. I feel like "SOME" inspectors rush through vehicles... and it's costing the customer money and time & stress , it's costing open Lane money and time, and it's costing your reps time & stress. I truly feel like this all could be circumvented if the inspectors would just actually inspect the vehicle correctly the first time. It's like the old saying.... "Measure twice, cut once". And then on these arbitration cases. They're wanting to take money off the vehicle. Well now the dealer has to pay out of pocket expenses, Hard Cash to fix the issue out of pocket. That's not right. I just had the same thing happen to me on a transmission. Open Lane awarded me $3,100 for the transmission. Since the vehicle was floor plan. They discounted the truck from $18,000 to $15,000. Well the problem with that is. Now me the dealer I got stuck spending $5,117.34 OUT OF POCKET. That's not right. I have been a loyal customer to Open Lane for years. I bought hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cars from the company. Once in a blue Moon you will get an arbitrator that understands what you're going through. But a lot of the time the arbitrators are short with you, rude & dismissive. And I have had the same experience in the Titles Department as well, you call about a Title issue, that is not your fault. They make you feel like your bugging them or you are the one that made the mistake. You can wait for weeks & there only answer is" we have contacted the customer awaiting a response, thank you". I would like to thank the different Dealer Reps I've had. They have all been amazing Cameron, Candace, & Kim. You are blessed to have reps like these. I believe they are the back bone of your company. I know this was supposed to just be about arbitration. But I had to let someone know about my experience with this company. I'm going to post this review on open lanes Google page as well. Thank you for your time.

Don’t buy from them they intentionally sell bad cars. What they do is they will say everything is checked out with the car and as long as the car is sold under 6k you can’t arbitrate it so they stick you with the car. Has happened to me and a couple other dealers I know.
I am very disappointed in the way Openlane is run. Tyler, from the finance department isn't someone that's good at keeping a nice relationship with customers and trying to understand their circumstances.
I have found Openlane pretty useful as an auction.

Your arbitration department and condition reports are absolutely worthless. I’ve had to start buying my cars from ACV Auction as their condition reports are spot on compared to your laughable attempts.
After buying 58 cars on your platform you completely threw me under the bus on the last one I bought. I spent over $18,000 on a three year-old car on your platform where your condition report had not a mention of paintwork or bodywork on it. The car arrived with a lot of Bondo in the rear quarter panel, poorly painted quarter panel, poorly painted front bumper and poorly painted rear bumper. I made an immediate arbitration claim, you gave me a $200 credit! What the heck am I supposed to do with that?
With all this paintwork the car is worth far less than what an unpainted car would be worth. I politely asked you to unwind the deal and have the seller re-list it, with an accurate condition report this time, for some reason you refused to do that. I made a second request for you to re-look at your arbitration decision and I was told a director would be in touch with me. I’ve waited a few weeks for that contact and received nothing.
Since I bought that last car through you, I have bought 9 vehicles from ACV Auction. That is nine vehicles I would’ve normally bought on your platform, you’ve lost a lot of money in buy and sell fees because of your worthless arbitration department and their very poor decisions.
You could learn something from ACV Auction on how to run a business. Your customer care is atrocious.
I am now stuck with a car I cannot retail because of all the paintwork on it, thanks for absolutely nothing.
If you want to do the right thing please unwind the deal. Let me know as I am still stuck with the car, please surprise me, I’m not holding my breath though………

Beware of OPENLANE A Nightmare Experince
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dealing with OPENLANE , and I must say, it was nothing short of a nightmare. From their abysmal arbitration department to their appalling customer service, this company has left me utterly disappointed and frustrated.
One of the most glaring issues I encountered was their deceptive practice of selling junk cars with seemingly impeccable condition reports. It's as if they were intentionally trying to mislead buyers. When I submitted my arbitration request, hoping for some assistance, I was met with nothing but indifference and a blatant disregard for my concerns.
It became evident that openlane's main priority was to make a sale, regardless of the consequences for the buyer. They showed no interest in rectifying the situation or ensuring customer satisfaction. It was clear that they simply wanted to wash their hands of any responsibility once the transaction was complete.
To add insult to injury, the company made the arbitration process unnecessarily difficult and time-consuming. They seemed to have no intention of resolving disputes in a fair and timely manner. It was as if they were intentionally trying to discourage buyers from pursuing arbitration, hoping they would simply give up and accept their losses.
In conclusion, my experience with OPENLANE was nothing short of a disaster. Their terrible arbitration department, dishonest condition reports, and overall lack of concern for customer satisfaction have left me deeply dissatisfied. I strongly advise anyone considering doing business with this company to proceed with extreme caution.
The worst Online platform. Do not trust their Condition report, customer service and accounting. They sold junk cars with perfect condition and they do not accept any return or adjustment. They charge the car twice. After I bought, they changed the seller... etc etc... If you have more money, please spend for homeless , not for openlane!
DO NOT BUY FROM OPENLANE. AC does not work, window does not work , car has oil leak but inspector did not put this problem in CONDITION REPORT. CAR HAS Bottom and upper engine noise but he put nothing in Condition Report. Arbitration never help to customer and close the phone! They only Protect BIG DEALERS. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS ONLINE PLATFORM. You have to go to dealer as a proof of problem and they do not pay diagnostic also. They do not use their money, they do not want to use their time. Before I had similar experience with backlot cars, they are same. They did not change their attitudes.
Been to the service center twice now. The front desk guy is a moron. Just keeps saying I don't know I'm not a mechanic. How about getting someone who knows work there.
