Wanted to buy a spool of 3d printer filament of a particular color, couldn't find it, although it was listed as in stock and it was obvious none of the sales people wanted to help. Finally managed to flag down a sales person to help, he made it seem like a hassle to get the filament down from the top shelf and had a major attitude problem, was trying to upsell me on buying more filaments so he can get whatever more commission since one filament wasn't worth it for him. This kind of attitude and behavior has really turned me off from ever buying anything from a microcenter again.

I strongly encourage anyone thinking about getting a gaming pc to come to this location and do your shopping. I went in knowing very little about what specifications to look for, and thanks to Mr. Scalettar, he made the process so much easier. He answered all my questions with ease and helped me understand what it was I needed, and at no time at all did he make me feel lesser than because my knowledge wasn't the best. While I was there I saw the same positivity from other employees helping out customers, so even if you do not get help from Mr. Scalettar, you will get wonderful service.

I drove an hour to this branch ready to finalize a $12,500.00 business workstation investment. While I want to thank Patrick for his initial professional assistance, the rest of the experience was a total disaster of unprofessionalism and misconduct. At the BYO section, I was ignored for 10 minutes while four employees stood in a circle chatting, watching me search for parts. When one finally "helped," he was dismissive. Most shockingly, after I found 8 custom cooling parts on my own, that same employee stepped in only to stick his personal sales barcode on my items to claim commission for work he refused to do. The "management" was even worse. I was told to apply for the Micro Center credit card to "discuss a discount." I was approved for a $10,800 limit, only for the manager to dismiss me with an insulting and condescending tone, making me feel like I was begging for a favor rather than being a high-value business client. I have officially CANCELLED my order. I refuse to reward this specific branch with a single cent of commission.

Excellent place for nerds and computer geeks. I think MC offers great prices compared to other retailers. I have bought gpus and cpus from here at a slightly lower prices than competitors. I’m adding the crazy expensive memory module prices for historical reasons. This is caused by high demand by AI companies. MC is a great place for geeks. There’s plenty of parking. Also a Panera Bread nearby for coffee!

First time at a Micro Center and couldn't have loved it more. Amazon of electronics in person. Walked out with an awesome new PC build. Already had Ram and GPU.

Amost every conceivable electronic item under one roof! As a person who delighted in building out laptops for my wife and four kids I was in for a major shock to my system! The industry has flipped the script, it is now cheaper to buy a ( basic) laptop than to build one. The price of RAM modules is absolutely insane, folks are saying tariffs, inflation, things are going up but $500 for 32g of RAM come on! Consumers are now forced to purchase a base laptop with minimal performance, expected to shell out $600+. If they want or need more performance, expect to pay upwards of a $1000 or more. GONE are the days when one could simply add more memory, faster CPU or increase hard drive capacity on their own! We are now subjected totally to the whims of manufacturers, yesterday I touched a laptop with an MSRP of $8,995.00!! Let that sink in folks..a laptop!

I came in looking to purchase 4 separate NAS systems with 6 to 8 bays, Enterprise storage and four PCIe 4.0 M.2 expansion cards, each with four M.2 slots. I was in the store for over an hour, and the only time anyone offered help was when I was already walking out. Multiple times when I walked toward customer representatives, they literally walked away. I don’t know if it was intentional or if there was something else going on, but it felt uncomfortable and I can’t help wondering if it might have been racial. Meanwhile, staff were helping other people and standing around talking about video games while I was being ignored. As an professional who does it on the side coming in to buy equipment for a new client, this was extremely unprofessional. You turned me down for a job two years ago and reapplying for a position, and honestly, this experience explains a lot. I’ll be going to Best Buy from now on at least I’m not skipped over for people who aren’t even buying anything.

Terrible experience with the PC diagnostic team. No contact phone number. Wrong diagnosis. Overcharged. Couldn't solve PC issue. Sent my PC in 1/7/26- they came back and told me it was corrupted windows and I needed to reinstall windows (which I knew wasn't correct, it was obviously a hardware issue) - they offered me $100 to data backup and $150 to reinstall Windows.. no thank you, I built my PCs since middle school and knew how to do this for free. I took their advice and clean installed windows after data backing up for free on google's cloud and downloading windows install tool on usb.. the problem was still there after fresh install.. Took it back to Microcenter 1/7/26 - for them to tech solve it again, had waited for over 5 days to get a response, they can only communicate through text and have no phone number to call, some idiot surely came up with that idea, it's probably good since most of the techs there are nerds and can't communicate properly without a monitor in front of them. No one replied to my texts, so I came to the store to find out what was wrong, they still couldn't figure out what the problem was and I asked for a refund for wasting my time twice, they tried to get me a gift card, I refused, they finally charged back my CC after I told them I'd have my credit card company do it. Found out my processor was overheating and the thermal cooler wasn't working causing it to freeze.. I reduced my processor speed to 70%, and now have a stable working computer again with no part replacements. What a joke, I would not recommend ever going here again unless you are desperate and have no idea how a computer works, then they can falsely diagnose your PC and upsell you on overpriced bs too.

I’ve spent thousands of dollars consistently at this Micro Center location over the past year, primarily on higher-end PC components. Unfortunately, my experiences have repeatedly involved inaccurate guidance from staff and a lack of follow-through when issues arise. During a workstation build, I purchased a motherboard and was told—confidently—that it supported four NVMe SSDs. Based on that advice, I was sold four NVMe drives at the same time. After getting home and installing everything, I discovered the fourth “slot” was actually a Wi-Fi NVMe slot, and Micro Center does not even carry an SSD compatible with it. This should have been identified at the point of sale, especially since the motherboard and SSDs were purchased together. In that same build, I was also sold a Wi-Fi PCIe card alongside an AMD motherboard, despite the box clearly stating it was not compatible with AMD platforms. Again, this was sold with confidence by staff while all components were being purchased together. I also ran into a fitment issue with an AIO cooler. I explicitly told the associate I was using a Corsair Obsidian 1000D case, and the rep looked up the case and assured me a 360mm AIO would fit. After getting everything home, I found that the case requires a 420mm AIO in the top configuration. The unit I was sold also appeared to be an older, unbranded model pulled from the back rather than a clearly current, well-documented option—adding to my concern about the recommendation. More recently, I placed an in-store hold on a Bambu Lab P2S combo after confirming availability with an associate and was given a printed hold slip with a date and timestamp. The next day, while on my way to the store, I received a call saying the unit was no longer available and had been “allocated to online inventory.” The paperwork I was given showed zero web orders, and I was told the people who could explain the allocation weren’t available. I was then told a manager would follow up when new inventory arrived. I waited through a holiday, called again, and was told the manager was busy and would call me back. That call never came. As of today (Thursday), the store’s website shows eight units in stock, yet no one ever contacted me. At that point, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that either follow-ups aren’t being tracked or customer commitments aren’t taken seriously. I understand that inventory sells out and mistakes happen. The issue is the pattern: incorrect technical guidance at purchase time, documented assurances that aren’t honored, and repeated failures to close the loop after escalation. For a store that markets itself on knowledgeable staff and expert advice, this has been disappointing. I’m leaving this review so store leadership is aware. I want to continue shopping here, but based on repeated experiences, it’s becoming difficult to trust the guidance or the follow-through.

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Micro Center in Rockville while trying to get my PS5 HDMI port repaired. I brought my PS5 in more than three times, and each time I was told they were not ready to service it yet due to a “new process” they were implementing. Finally, on December 27, they accepted the console for repair. It then took over 10 days just to receive a text saying a technician found an issue with the HDMI port and that repairs would begin. Communication throughout this process was very poor. After five business days with no updates, I called to check on the status. I was told there were “other priorities” and that I should hear something within three business days. The representative I spoke with was rude, short, and offered no helpful solution or reassurance. After all that waiting, I received a text on January 6 stating the repair was on its way. Then, the very next day (January 7), I received another text saying the PS5 was actually unrepairable. They admitted this should have been caught during the initial check-in, claiming it was unrepairable because a “safe tape” had been removed. After weeks of waiting, multiple visits, poor communication, and wasted patience, my console was not fixed at all. This is especially frustrating because they are one of the only repair options in my area, and the estimated repair costs were already high. I will never return to Micro Center. Between the bad service, lack of communication, rude staff, and wasted time, I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

I needed a new computer to replace the one that died. Marc was great about answering questions and helping me find what I needed without pressuring me about a specific item. This was not my first visit and purchase at this store and I will definitely go back if I need anything further.

We had a great experience. Danilo was so helpful and took great care of us and was knowledgeable. He got us everything we needed while taking care of multiple people. It made our 1.5 hour trip so worth it!

I tried to give micro center a chance. But I ultimately just went online to build my next computer. Ordered items that were in stock at the time of order. However, I could not just pay for them... I had to come in to pay. Not a problem. But then I got an email that 2/3rds of the order is out of stock and my 3 day clock had already started... Newegg FTW.

I was looking for a charger for my Lenovo Thinkpad laptop, and after a quick online search on Google, I came across Micro Center. I didn't hesitate to go there, and I was very satisfied because I was quickly greeted by a team that knows its stuff. I visited the store, and I think I'll be going back soon because they have a wide variety of electronic equipment.

Was building a pc and needed help with some of the components as well as the case for the build. As a beginner i had a lot of questions and concerns. thankfully Daniel was there to help out. He did so with a great attitude, gave a lot of tips and advice. He honestly did everything fantastic and a lot easier. He didnt seem annoyed to help out regardless of the numerous questions i asked and honestly that man deserves a raise. Will come back in future for my next build. Hope the best for that man.

I’ve been going here for many years and it’s the people who work the floor that make it a good experience. They are knowledgeable and make good product recommendations, especially when it comes to PC hardware. I hope they keep maintaining good employees and don’t go the way of other retail stores.

It is with great frustration that I am compelled to leave a 1 star review against Micro Center as a whole, not this specific location (sorry store owner...). I bought a Micro Center branded MicroSD card from this location and the card will not format and is unusable. Multiple PCs, multiple adpater, multiple ports. I contacted Micro Center and their only resolution is for me to return in store despite acknowledging the product is broken. This is their warranty service within their new purchae period btw... For a sub $10 product that can be mailed for less than a dollar, I would have expected a replacement to be sent. Also adding that as much as I appreciate someone believing me that its broken, im a little surprised they didnt advise or have any additional steps (guessing Micro Center branded products are prone to these issues). With the store being very far for me, it'll literally cost me more money to return/replace than it order on Amazon. I did make this purchase when I went their in black Friday. I'll have to not make the pilgrimage their any more. Other unrelated notes, about 80% of the sales at this store were much worse (by double digit %s) than Amazon. I accepted this thinking MC has great service (people in the store are great) but any issues post sale are lacking. I cannot guarantee it would even be resolved in store and it was noted online via their bot that it would take 2 weeks or more to refund the money. Imagine a big purchase.... Hope that helps folks.

I initially brought my computer in because of a motherboard issue, and it ended up taking several months for them to return it to me. During the repair process, they lost parts and had to replace them. Now that I finally set everything up, I discovered that the Wi-Fi antenna that originally came with my new motherboard is missing as well. I won’t be returning here for any future repairs. 😭😭 I was really looking forward to finally setting up my computer, but instead I’m devastated. The amount of time and inconvenience this caused is incredibly disappointing.

Pretty good place to find all computer specific hardware, parts etc It feels like a store house to navigate, but one that is well labelled and there are staff you can ask and get support from. I went there from time to time as my kiddo Lovell the stuff. Everytime, I go there I learn something new. The price is quite competitive too, so if you are eyeing to bye some computer, TV, headphone etc, you can go around & compare prices. What fascinated me was knowing what chip, which part gets into my computer & what function it plays ( I m not a tech engineer but use laptop & office gadgets a lot).

In all my life living in Montgomery County, I can fairly say that this center beats Best Buy, with little to no comparison. I was first introduced to micro center via a free giveaway on Instagram: a free USB stick and headphones. I went there thinking it was fake, but no... I actually got those items. On my first visit, the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. 2 years later, my HP gaming laptop had a problem on its screen and luckily, microcenter was one of 2 HP certified repair centers (meaning if you've got a warranty, not only do they respect it, but they are trained specifically by HP and have access to their servers). The other location was best buy, but given my previous encounter with micro center i decided to give it a shot. And boy was I happy. The staff were nothing less than ultimately professional. I did a walk-in at their genius bar, only to wait no more than 15 minutes. As I explained my problem, the staff member immediately called out what could be the issue (turns out he was SPOT ON). You can tell each of the staff knows almost everything when it comes to tech. Like, they're not just reading from a script; they have first-hand experience. Cool beans, I'm warned the entire process could take up to 10 days to wait for the repair. It took 4. Maybe 3, but ready on the fourth day. When you get the text saying "a mechanic is now working on your device"; they mean that! (Oh, and they update you EVERY step of the way so you're not sitting in the dust wondering what's going on with your dropped off device). My laptop was in not so great shape cleanliness wise (I had a few food stains lol). They even threw in a quick clean up. And the best part?? An additional 90 day warranty on top of my already existing HP warranty in case the same problem happens again. This is by far a gem. This store makes Best Buy feel more or less like a thrift shop, with severely underpaid staff. Micro center is the definition of quality over quantity. May not be as big as Best buy (although the floor is pretty huge); but trust me when I say you will fine what you're looking for. And you will be helped, regardless of who you are and what you look like. Such an amazing environment.

The staff are kinda... Right up your butt if you linger in one spot too long and some of them seem more concerned with a commission bonus than actually helping you. I went twice, once to buy a headset and once to trade it for a different one. The first day a salesperson listened to me say I wanted a blue tooth compatible headset, and then gave me a wireless one (which might I add was 150 dollars). Instead of being blue tooth, it was wireless with little dongle that you had to plug into your computer. ... This is a problem because it was a USB, and I use a MacBook. And not only that but this means I couldn't use the headset with my phone. Went back for a trade in today, wound up with a much cheaper headset with the features I wanted. Much happier with my purchase.

The layout of the store was well organized, with a great selection of electronics and the prices were comparable to what you'll find on Amazon. They have a much better selection of products then you'll find at Best Buy. The staff was very helpful. The cashiers were very efficient and the lines weren't to long.

My favorite electronics store was Frys, but Microcenter has two advantages over them: They exist here in Maryland, and they are still in business. This store is stuffed with all kinds of computer and entertainment related equipment. And the people are very eager to help, and for the couple of things I needed, they were knowledgeable about the stock. If you need something computer related, this is the store for you. I also found the store to be clean and well lit.

Nini was amazing and helped me and my partner SO much! She was so knowledgeable, personable, fun to talk to, and assisted us with price matching for a keyboard we really wanted. Can't say enough good things about her, but she made both of our overall experiences at micro center truly worth going in there for. Thank you, Nini! Was a pleasure.

Drove 40 miles to Micro Center after seeing a new laptop on a sale price online. The sales associate was quick to engage with me (I didn't have to search to find someone to help me like so many stores today), knew which model I wanted, offered the normal service plans, etc.. and took my "No, thank you" the first time. I was in, got what I wanted, and back out again in about 10 minutes. No pressure to buy things I did not need, just fast efficient service and the product I wanted at a price I could afford! Love Micro Center! Well worth the the 80 mile round trip! Thank you!

Huge shoutout to Mike Gallagher and his incredible team at Microcenter’s Knowledge Center! My gaming PC stopped POSTing a month after I built it. I booked a same-day diagnostic appointment, and the next day, I received a detailed text with the diagnosis and clear fix instructions. They were super accommodating with parts replacement, even helping me install the new component and ensuring my PC booted perfectly. You can tell they genuinely love helping people—their passion shines through! The people who work there are knowledgeable and trustworthy. I have been a regular at Microcenter but you have just earned a loyal customer for life today!

Went in with only a general idea for a PC build. I'm knowledgeable to a degree but was totally unprepared for what exact parts were in the current status quo for premium gaming. That said, David, in the "Build Your Own PC" section was amazing. He helped me from start to finish, all the while still handling quick questions from other customers in the area. Dude built a beast of a gaming computer from scratch then and there. He was even able to help me cut some cost from some parts that I was looking at that just weren't worth the price. Truly a gem of a guy, solid customer service and extremely knowledgeable. I got the build together myself and all the parts worked perfectly and everything works extremely well. I don't often leave reviews but this guy's customer service was top-notch. 100/10 The store itself is also very well stocked and had absolutely anything and everything I needed from start to finish.

I love how the staff works together to help get the technology I need to solve the goals I have. Everyone is super nice and respectful.I also love that you don’t have to look for a staff member to help, as soon as I come into the store, there is a staff member reaching out to help me. The managers are very ready accessible if I need them for any question. Thank you Microcenter. I hope to see you soon.

Eye opening experience - sent in my laptop because the keyboard is not functioning, others parts all functioning well, paid $50 for the diagnostic and they told me there’s nothing they can do but to replace the keyboard, picked up my laptop and now it won’t even start, they wanted to quote me another $100 to reinstall the entire system. Super excited to spend $150 just to get 0 new information and get back to where I started <3 Follow up reply: I did the reimage at home in 15 mins with $0, Microsoft doesn’t charge you for the system, so if you guys are charging 100 for this thing then the hourly wage must be exciting

MicroCenter is consistently dependable, and tends to have more knowledgeable floor staff than their competitors. Ricardo even went the extra mile to ensure product compatibility for me. Iike their products and guarantees. The only reason the score is not higher, are managers like Carlos who were not polite, helpful, or friendly.
