Negative Review: Extremely disappointing experience. My Volvo broke down in the middle of the street around 10pm. We contacted AAA, and after researching options, chose Matt’s shop for the tow due to its open lot, good reviews, and the fact that it services Volvos — which isn’t always easy to find, especially as we’re new to the Milwaukee area. At 7am the next morning, I called Matt promptly to explain the situation and ask if he could take a look at the vehicle. Instead of a professional or even courteous response, I was met with hostility. He rudely told me, “You can’t just leave a car here,” and threatened to have it ticketed if it wasn’t moved immediately. He also complained that it had personal items inside — which I calmly explained was because we were in the middle of a move. I was stunned. I had to take an entire day off work just to deal with this unexpected and unnecessary hassle. Fortunately, we found another import specialist nearby who took the car and fixed it within 24 hours — no drama, no rudeness, just great service. I understand policies, but there is absolutely no excuse for the lack of professionalism, courtesy, or basic decency in how Matt handled this. Based on this experience, I will never return and would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Took my Audi here after leaving the dealer and a different independent shop. Asked for some work done per dealership and Matt's came back and said it wasn't needed at this time. Really appreciate the honestly and I'll be back for a future service.

Dennis you are the man!!!! Purchased a BMW 650i from out of state that was repaired just enough to cross the state line. Matt's Foriegn Car took my two month nightmare purchase from the dealership who had the car for two months in a foriegn car specialist shop. Corners were cut with glue being used rather than gaskets in the engine! There are no corners cut at Matt's and if there is a way to save you money it is done without affecting the quality of the work! All of our cars go to Matt's Foriegn Car Service. They always beat dealer and third party quotes and back it up with repairs done right the first time!

I have brought my 2001 Audi TT here for a few jobs over the years, so I decided to give a review. Great, knowledgeable service, not cheap but at least you get what you pay for here. They also stand behind their work which gives me peace of mind. Would recommend to anyone with a foreign car.

I won't go anywhere else! These guys fixed my BMW beautifully! I had issues with my timing belt, they fixed the problems and my car has been running beautifully ever since. Dennis went above and beyond for me. The customer service is excellent!

I am so pleased with the quote and services provided by Matt's. I own a Volvo XC 60 2016. I love my car and always wanted a VOLVO, so I take a great care of my vehicle, never missing mileage service and am always hesitant to take it anywhere, but the Volvo dealship, as it is fair to say I have trust issues. However when I discovered no heat was blowing into my car and took it to Volvo Waukesha dealer, after running diagnostics ($200), they told me the HVAC Blower Motor needs replacement and quoted me close to $3K. At this point I knew i had to get another opinion. I called Matt's (google search with great reviews) and explained the issue. They immediately quoted me a little more than half of what Volvo wanted, so I decided to go with them. The day I took my car to Matt's, Dennis said he wanted to look at it first as he was doubting the HVAC Blower Motor was gone. Later the same day I got a call from Dennis who told me it was my lucky day, as they only need to replace a resistor, which was going to cost me a little over $500 and the HVAC Blower Motor was working just fine. It was such a relief to hear, and the best part, my car was ready for pick up the next day! I just discovered my go-to car shop for life! Can't say "Thank you" enough to Matt's entire team!

Matt’s is by far the best place in town to get your foreign car fixed. Dennis is a great at explaining what is wrong and what needs to be fixed. They do not waste your time and your money - like the dealers. I have taken everyone of my cars there. They took care of my sons Honda CRV air conditioning at a half the price of the dealer. The mechanics at Matt’s are the best around they do not guess like at the dealerships mechanics.

I'm from IL and my daughter lives in Milwaukee. Had car trouble in Milwaukee and had my Volvo towed to Matt's, even though they had weeks of work scheduled, they listen to my problem and took my car in. They found hard to get parts , fixed things instead of just replacing parts and did it all for a really fair price. We will be using this place again. Great mechanics and a honest team.

Dennis was fantastic. I’ve been having nothing but issues with my VW and was given a ridiculous price for repairs at the dealership. We found Matt’s and they were able to get me in and explained what needed to be fixed at about a quarter of the price. Will definitely be back, thank you guys again!!!!

I bought a used Audi A4 less than a year ago and found out the hard way over the first few months of ownership that there was some service history missing from the carfax. I started experiencing issues and took the car back to the place I purchased it from. Once they realized they had to pay for these issues per our "30 day satisfaction agreement", they put a minor "bandaid" on my car to get me through the next few months so they would be off the hook for the problematic car they sold me. This is when I looked into foreign car specialists and found Matt's... and man, I'm glad I did. Matt's found EVERY issue with my car, and didn't just take care of it, but informed me that it looks like someone replaced the engine on this car and did a very bad job. They said it was a good thing I came in because there were lots of bolts missing in my engine bracket that would've eventually led to much worse problems (they replaced all the missing parts for me) ... Thank you to everyone at Matt's you all were very helpful and informative. I will be servicing all of my cars at Matt's and suggest my friends and family do the same!

Last Sunday, I had my car towed in because it literally died in the middle of the street. I had a friend bring me back to the shop on Monday to plead for help. I have been in town for work and really need my car. Being from out of town can be a very scary experience not knowing reputable shops. Thankfully my friend Gus recommended Matt's and he was right on. They were able to squeeze in my fuel pump and had me off the same day. The service was great and the price was reasonable. I could tell these guys are honest and genuinely try to help people. Today my serpentine belt shredded so the car is headed back for more work, which sucks, but at least I am confident in the shop it is going to. Thank you Matt's!!!

Prices are fair, work is great, and everyone is friendly. I sincerely enjoyed chatting with Dennis - he provided great explanations for the shop’s work and recommendations, and they took excellent care of my vehicles. I give Matt’s my highest recommendation. You won’t regret visiting them.

I waited almost a month to get in, but it was well worth it. So many places told me I needed a new transmission, but Matt’s shop knew more about bmw and how gm transmission came with a defected part. Which causing the transmission to malfunction once broke. I am not sure about other’s experience, but they’ve worked on my bmw twice and I think they have the best prices and service in town. My car was running and done the very next day. There isn’t a lot of honest work out there so when you find a business like this people line up. I mean look that their lot. People are lined up for the quality service. Thanks to these guys. I’m back on the road. Highly recommended!!!

Nobody better than Matt's!! I have taken my cars to Matt's for over 8 years. Even after moving out of the Washington Heights neighborhood, I drive the extra distance to have Matt's work on my cars. The team is trust worthy, great to work with, and their service is top notch. I would recommend Matt's to anyone in the greater MKE area.

I was taking my car to a high end place in Waukesha. Last year when I got my car back after almost 3k of repair. They not only forgot to put back my under carrier. My car has been shaking since they’ve done work on it. Matt’s took my car in right away. Got to work on it asap and the price was really reasonable. If you’re a German car owner. Please give these guys a chance. You will not be disappointed.

Had 40k mile check up. I prefer Matt’s instead of the dealership. Outstanding customer service and great service for my Toyota 4 runner. I thank Dennis, Bill and the rest of Matt’s team for making me feel that Matt’s is the one place that I can get great service and it’s reasonably priced.

Customer service was great. Matts helped me with a nagging issue in my car that initially we couldn't figure out. Matt was patient and worked with me on figuring out the issue then completing the repairs and doing an excellent job. Pricing was fair and much better than I expected.

I own a 2013 c300 and asked for a complete inspection to determine any service/repairs needed so I could determine whether or not to keep or sell based on services recommended by Matt’s Auto. I was anticipating several services/repairs based on the 140,000 miles on my car. To my delight Dennis informed me that the car was in fantastic mechanical condition and besides an oil plug washer needing to be replaced, which they did for free, there were no other issues. There are so many stories of mechanics taking advantage of customers- having an experience like this was refreshing. I highly recommend Matt’s Foreign Car Specialists!!

Matt's does excellent work, consistently meets expectations, and most importantly, has my trust. I don't generally go out of my way to write reviews, good or bad, but the last time I left Matt's, I was overwhelmingly compelled to do so. I bought a 6 month old Mercedes C300 with 5,000 miles, CPO, from the dealership in Milwaukee, and had the first two years maintenance intervals done by the dealership under the CPO coverage. I continued going to the dealership for an additional two years, paying out of pocket, until I realized I was being entirely oversold. I searched for alternatives, and found Matt's. No. The experience is not as white-glove as rolling up to a Mercedes dealership. You don't roll past a grand fleet of brand new luxury vehicles as you arrive at the service department, and no one offers you fresh Starbucks when you step out of the car. What you do get, is service. Damn good service. They will go out of their way to fit you in and accommodate your schedule, they will do the maintenance, repairs, and inspections they promise, as a reasonable price, always damn close, if not exactly for, what they quoted. And I have absolute confidence and trust that they give honest evaluations of the work that needs to be done, why it needs to be done, and when it needs to be done. After years of service, Matt's has absolutely earned my loyalty. Thanks, to Vince, and everyone at Matt's.

I was provided a pretty good service here at Matt's foreign Car Specialists. And also, Matt (the owner) is a ? good guy ? And I feel like I can trust him. Which is an extremely important factor for me, even more so when it involves anything with my ? vehicle ? (Because of the possibility that you could be misled, or taken advantage of, especially if you don't have any vehicle or mechanical knowledge.)
