What clients say about Habitat For Humanity ReStore in Chantilly (VA)

Lots of furniture. Lots of videos. Some books. Some household odds and ends. Some good deals. Some of it's in great shape; some is pretty dingy. Most is not organized all that neatly. Automatic front doors were broken the most recent day I visited and you had to pull them apart and push them back together to get in and out.

I have been shopping at the Chantilly Restore for many years and have purchased so many amazing items at a deep discount. Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams dining room chairs, Hooker China cabinets, new Miele gas dryer, leather sofa, end tables, beautiful outdoor table and chairs, kitchen cabinets, etc etc. Benji and James are wonderful managers who always make me feel welcome and respected. The pricing is always fair. Grateful for this store and happy to support a great cause.

They have recently been pricing items too high. You used to be able to get a bargain but not anymore. Disappointing.

This is a huge Habitat For Humanity store. I went there today to donate items and to look around. Donations are accepted M-F starting at 10am and on Saturdays, starting at 9am. They don’t sell clothes or shoes here, so they don’t accept these type of donated items. They have a large variety of furniture. I took close up photos of some of the furniture, so you can see their pricing. I thought some items were reasonable while others I thought were too high. But since it’s a resale store, but they do have to pay rent. They have a variety of items, appliances, furniture, housewares, doors, shelving, power tools, door knobs, light fixtures, books, vinyl records, etc. They have both men’s & women’s bathrooms on the right side of the front of the store.

Great people working the back unloading dock. Very nice and helpful. I always bring my donations here. Great organization.

I found a Armoire for a great price the staff was very professional I'm very happy with my purchase.

Sketchville! Nothing is priced - manager makes up prices as you go. Went in to buy an opened, partial box of vinyl flooring. Box contained 6 pieces and manager priced at $15. Did not purchase but just went back today, picked up same box but now only 4 pcs were in box and manager priced at $20. Shady character - will never go back to Chantilly Restore.

Great items but the store manager is price gouging. I brought insulation from the Alexandria, VA store for$20 & he charge $60 for a less rated insulation. They receive donated item but he wants to sell the same items for Home Depot prices.

Very disappointing to see how this place has changed, we used to come here all the time for donations and affordable furniture. They have become very selective with donations and furniture is now much more expensive, upwards of $250 for a table.

Was questioned at checkout as to price tag on the item I selected and proprietor stated he wouldn't have priced item as shown and insinuated the tag had been torn (like we had switched it). We won't ever be back to this location / area for habitat. We have been to many locations and never been treated so poorly. Walked out without buying anything. Most of their larger higher ticket items are not even tagged. Soooooo much product, barely any room to walk through. I get why it's so full of they question pricing on every item anyone tries to buy. Sad.

Pick up of two chairs in very good condition was denied. I’ve been to the store in Chantilly and it’s rare to find furniture in clean condition. Perhaps the truck driver was lazy; color blind?

I've been shopping here for many years. I once found an almost new Natuzzi chair at a bargain. I was stunned that the manager himself delivered it after his shift. The manager Benjamin is professional, dedicated and hard working. I have observed how he treats people with respect no matter how busy and chaotic it is at times. With only 2 senior staff I really don't know how they manage. Kudos to ReStore and Mr Benjamin! This place is definitely a service to the community. Thank you!

Go to the Chantilly or Alexandria Restore if you are donating. The Herndon and Leesburg locations are quite restricted as to what they can accept because their stores are so small. BUT - If you are looking to buy, you’ll find amazing bargains here! My solid oak kitchen chairs in perfect condition are being sold at $10/each. He showed me gorgeous burgundy leather club chairs he was offering for $30/each!

A lot of stuff but little hectic. Also a bit overpriced for a lot of of the items I think they would make more money if they didn’t charge so much especially for some of the stuff that’s not in the greatest condition.

Store is kinda organized but also very messy. The prices are all over the place and you’ll see some inventory sit for months with most of it being damaged or beat up. They need to stop pretending they are in the antique or flipping business but a last stop before the landfill.

It's pretty chaotic and can be hard to get around in between the aisles of stuff. Tons of items, way more than expected. Furniture, household items, basically set up like a thrift store. The prices are better than most thrift stores around here.

Love it! I find something every time! Good prices. Just have to be patient going through everything. The stock is consistently moving. Items change from day to day so go often and purchase right away or it will be gone. The store manager is great and everyone working there is friendly and helpful. I've gotten a lot of great deals there

Lots of great furniture, found this coffee table for just $30 and was able to paint it for a more modern look. Total $37 for the whole project, for a comparable coffee table the cheapest I could find was $90 or more. Lots of cool stuff here

I have purchased a multitude of items in preparation of a shipping container that I am converting to livable space. The folks there were more than helpful all the time. There are all kinds of great finds - better than the other HFHRs in the area. I will continue to shop there. Happy Shopping ?

One of the better locations I've been to. Team is friendly, prices are where they should be and easy to deal with if you have a valid counter offer based on defects. Far better in overall selection than the Alexandria location (which prices were unreal). It's a good thing it's far away for me because I'd be in there all the time.

This is a great place to look for any thing you might need for Home improvements, even general things like vacuum, broom, light bulbs, parts, and tools. They always have a lot of really nice furniture at very reasonable prices. The staff is always extremely friendly and always helpful if you need help carrying anything!

This store used to be such a great place to go to donate or find items. They have a lot of things but reselling broken furniture for huge mark-ups and the non-marked price so they can "quote" you a price based on appearance at the checkout is sketchy. You definitely can't social distance here although they have tried it's just too much in the space to achieve it.

I've been their customer since they started at the warehouse. The cashier back then always gave reasonable price with good attitude. This location, I've been there more than 10 times and I can tell you, something is seriously wrong. One of the main issues is the price. They told me their goal is to price at 30% of retail, but their price is often 90%-150% retail price. Yes, some are more expensive than retail new. Today, there were 5 customer lined up before me. None of them purchased anything because the prices were ridiculous. And whenever customer refused to purchase, each time, the cashier rolled her eye and in loud voice how suck her customers are. My turn, I brought 5 things. Ended up purchasing 1. And this time, she thinks I"m cheap. What the hell? Does she own the place or something? Your job is to move the items. You are just hoarding your stuff by pricing them so high. You got everything for free. Price correctly like it used to be. This lady cashier who works on the weekends, she's not only rude, but doesn't know how price anything and blames the customers. This rudeness by their staff need to end. I once heard them making fun of a customer who couldn't speak English fluently, right in front of his face. They do have good stuff. Just need better management and clear pricing on everything they sell. Their current pricing is, you take whatever to the front, and they price whatever is in their mind. So each time you go, even if you buy same stuff, price is always different. I will stop going this location and go to the other one, which has clear pricing on everything. Fire the cashiers, bring back the guy who used to work there at the warehouse. He moved A LOT of stuff.

Store manager ignored customers that were waiting at the checkout desk and kept on chatting with colleagues. They seem annoyed when you ask them about the price of an item. If you are considering donating you items to this store, please don't. The prices are made up on the spot based on how much you may be able to afford, and in some cases higher than the price of a new item. Don't waste your time here.

The furniture was good, and the variety hovered somewhere between incredible and hilarious. Beside the standard couches and armchairs, one can find vending machines and arcade cases out plain as day. Everything was maintained beautifully and the prices were excellent. Would absolutely recommend if you're looking to furnish your home.

EDIT: I just went there again on 28 April 2018, and their lighting and organization is *much* improved! Bright almost throughout the entire store, and they have much better shelving in many of the previously chaotic areas -- much more pleasant! There is still some room for improvement, but it's a big change for the better! You never know what you'll find here - and sometimes you really have to search to make it worthwhile. The 'showroom' is poorly lit, and fairly cramped in places. If you are looking for more than furniture, it wouldn't hurt to bring a flashlight or even a headlamp, honestly. I've used the light on my phone several times - and still wished I had more light. Their organization has improved a little over the time that I've visited their store - but some areas are still fairly chaotic. The Manassas store is better lit, cleaner, and more organized -- but smaller than this place. If you don't mind digging for treasure, you can find some great stuff here - just be prepared with some light, and expect some narrow spaces, and occasional haphazard organization!
