Scheduled battery replacement. Price posted on the website is $200 (including a $35 service fee). Now, that's "starting at," but considering that the dealership for my car charges the same $200, that should be approximately right. Turns out that nope, they will charge a $90 service fee just to *look at* the battery. Then the bill for a new battery would've totalled $550. I asked for my car back, and when I asked to speak to a manager about the $90 services when they advertize $35, the response from the guy behind the desk was, "We've called the police before, sir. You have to pay." Which is one hell of a way to escalate a conversation. Oh, and after all that, the guy still printed out "recommended" services totalling over $1000. Edit: Further research and calling competitors done. The one edit in their favor that should be added is that cars with an auto start/stop feature do have larger, more expensive batteries. This was never explained at this location, but a call to a competitor cleared up the pricing issue in under five minutes. But this means that the battery is actually not the problem, because the car has a larger and more robust battery than most are given at the dealership. Rather, the issue was that the key fob needed a new battery replacement. Which means the following: VA Tire & Auto charged me $90 to inspect the battery, and *despite the battery being fine and something else being the problem*, they wanted to charge hundreds for a new one anyway. Oh, and the response to asking for someone higher up the chain was still to threaten police involvement. I can't get over that one; that's just all kinds of uniquely not okay. Needless to say, I'm never going back, and I'd advise everyone I know to avoid this place like the plague.

The worst experience I have without auto tire Kevin he don’t know about customer service. They never tell me anything about my car. They break a piece and they never inform to me. I leave my car for Three days in I asking about my truck and they never tell me the truth. I’m very disappointed the job they do to me.

1/17/26 @ 11:44am Called for a simple diagnostic price that would have taken the guy 5 seconds to answer, and he put me on hold immediately without even asking what I needed. Horrible customer service and your location and business just lost a customer and money. Do better. Hire more employees that can have at least 1 answering the phone in a pleasant manner, AND work on your customer service. His voice and tone sounded like he was irritated, stressed or could care less to help. Reviews matter these days and I hope this one makes you change. You will lose business. It's not just about price, it's about customer experience and when the first experience makes you feel like they don't even care to help, that's telling of a company.

I stopped by Tire & Auto in Chantilly the other day, and I have to highlight the incredible customer service I received from Ricky. He was super kind, patient, and genuinely helpful from start to finish. I needed a state inspection, and even though they weren’t able to complete it on-site at that moment, Ricky didn’t just send me off — he went above and beyond. He personally called around to multiple places to make sure I could still get my car serviced the same day. He didn’t stop until he found a location that could take me. That level of effort and care is rare, and it truly made my experience stand out. Ricky showed what real customer service looks like, and I really appreciate everything he did. I’ll definitely be returning because of how well he took care of me!

They work on a first in first out for VA inspection and it works great. It makes it easy to know how many cars are ahead of you. Also Melissa my service manager was great. Took her time and was very kind and respectful.

Ricky is the best I came in right at closing time, and even though they were already closed, he was extremely nice and patient. He still took care of me, checked my tire, checked the pressure, and even made sure all four tires were good before I left. On top of that, he was willing to schedule me an appointment for another day even after business hours. This is truly outstanding customer service. I really appreciate the help, and this experience definitely deserves five stars!

After making me wait several hours they said my tire wasn’t repairable, had a small, slow leak, hole “in the shoulder.” Took my vehicle to another place that said it was easily repairable and that place did it for free. So either this place is slow and incompetent at best or lying and scamming people into buying tires they don’t need at worst. Either way, skip this place and take your repair elsewhere. So glad I did!

The coolant reservoir cap was left off when I picked my car up from your shop. I drove without the cap on, as how was I to know that my mechanic had forgotten to put a vital part back before letting me drive away, and my coolant got to critically low levels. Leaving the cap off was incredibly negligent behavior. When the car returned for service of the issue it was originally scheduled for, the coolant was not replenished to above minimum levels, even after I informed them of what had occurred and they claimed that they had “topped it off”. My experience with this store began with them selling me a $200 initial service to investigate my AC system by flushing it out, instead of taking the easy first step of opening the hood to see if the problem was there (news flash: it was). I was also never informed that the main repair I was getting might not fix the problem. The repair was framed as an easy solution that would be done in one step. However, this turned out to not be the case, as the price of the repair just continued to rise while my faith and trust in your company started flatlining. My car also returned with multiple black smudges all over the interior, which were not there prior to service as I had just cleaned my car the weekend prior. I now have absolutely no trust in your mechanics abilities to fix this issue, and will have it repaired elsewhere. I will never return for work here, you have lost a customer for life.

I am such a nervous person when it comes to the care of my own car because I took a big risk in purchasing the car by myself and I just want to be able to take care of it and not let anything happen to it. I made these fears Known to the person on the phone, Melissa. She reassured me that they would do everything by the book and there’s a free 25 point inspection they did that was just for any upcoming recommendations about the maintenance for my car. Melissa went above and beyond to be fully transparent with me and walk me through everything they found during inspection, which wasn’t too much because I take such good care of my car and it showed. I do have to say that going into this, I knew that my tires were probably going to be a talking point when I picked up my car because I had heard it from a few different mechanics the past couple times I went for an oil change at the dealership. I could not be more thankful to Melissa for calming my fearful nerves. I have never been outside of the dealership for any maintenance, but I knew that the dealership was starting to get expensive and harder to afford any maintenance work. The prices were reasonable for what I needed, and they were very thankful for my business and it showed with how well and professional they treated me and anyone else who was in the shop at the time I dropped off and picked up my car. I had to drop it off on my break from work and it was done by the time I got off work. They also gave me recommendations for the tires that I would need in relation to the type of driving that I do… I am going to be doing my homework for tires based off what was recommended to me but I am more than pleased with the people at the shop and I thank them for everything. I will definitely be returning for oil changes and other small maintenance repairs/work from now on.

I have been coming to VA Tire and Auto for years but do not plan on returning!! They tried charging me $800 for a check engine light that came on after I had already paid $2k (including an alignment which I was told over the phone was REQUIRED in order to pass safety) for repairs and replacements in order to pass both safety and emissions tests only two months prior. The check engine light was for, according to management, a faulty oxygen sensor..which they somehow didn’t notice during the emissions test less than two months prior?? I was told that they never touch that part of my vehicle. I spoke on the phone with Jason, the manager, and literally yelled at him that I wanted proof that that area of car had not been tampered with and that additional work done needed to be put on a payment plan/covered by the store. He said no and that they would deny me further service. Apparently, Jason doesn’t understand that women in their 30s are victims of mechanic fraud all the time and that that would understandably justify my anger here. He said they would cover the diagnostic fee and that I could come pick up my car and have it serviced somewhere else. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was told there was “no diagnostic report” to give me. I wasn’t given any record/form/receipt what-so-ever even though I asked (aka - the diagnostic test that might show that the cause of the check engine light was the result of their previous work on my vehicle). I was given my car keys back..nothing else! Telling a customer that you won’t charge them for a diagnostic fee doesn’t not mean that you don’t give them a receipt indicating any work done on the vehicle; a diagnostic test included! Oh, and I should add, the check engine light was cleared! I don’t recommend this place! Take your car somewhere else for quality service! This is a deliberate attempt to cover up their previous work (done for emissions and safety)! This is shown by the fact they refused to give me the diagnostic tests results when I came back less than two months after I had over $2k in repairs done on my vehicle. The manager is pretending to be offended by the fact I yelled at him on the phone. What company tells a customer who has been coming to them for 5 years to go somewhere else after the customer is ANGERY at their poor service!!!! Apparently telling a customer that a fee will be covered by the company just means that you will not get access to your car records!!! Reply: I see your reply to my review. I EXPECT higher management/owner to reach out to ME based on my review. You have my contact information; take initiative! I am not going to go through the trouble of resharing everything in an email when management has already made it clear they won’t provide me service anymore, which includes providing me with receipts and diagnostic results. You take the initiative to keep a customer! Yet another example of poor quality service! Reply: After having it inspected else where, no issue with the oxygen sensor was discovered. Also, I was never given the diagnostic report which might support your claim of the reasons for the engine light. Therefore, I am left to conclude that you are lying to me and wanted an excuse for me to pay $800.

Beware if you are taking your car here for safety inspections. Similar to another review posted a month ago. My car failed safety inspection due to a cracked lower control arm on one side. They also recommended replacing the other lower control arm due to wear and tear because of mileage. I replaced the lower control arm that was supposedly cracked. There were no cracks. Pictures were taken a few weeks after I did the replacement. Thus the rust.

I had a great experience at VA Tire! Kenny made the whole process of changing my tire quick, easy, and convenient. He was very informative, professional, and got everything done in perfect time. He was also incredibly kind and helpful throughout the entire visit, making sure I was taken care of and answering all my questions. Ricky was also super friendly and helpful. I’m so glad I came here! Really appreciated the excellent service from both of them. Highly recommend!

Thought they would be great communication. I had to be the one to call in 20 minutes until they close to see if my car was being overnighted, also had to call the next day to see what was wrong with my car, as well for my car was to be picked up and had to call in for that as well. Diagnosing my car is another story… I will not return!!

I see that there are mixed reviews for this location, but I am giving 5 stars based on my experience with Mazen and the overall service. I recently had my tire blow out on 28 and made my way over here due to proximity. Mazen assisted me and was extremely polite, professional, and communicated expertise and fairness, providing me sound recommendations on the state of my car (I was also dealing with vibration issues). It became quickly apparent that I was in good hands and I did not feel like I was being ripped off. Due to my work and schedule, I needed my car fixed asap and Mazen and the team made it happen, providing options that allowed for completing the repairs by end of the day. I have been driving my car for a few days and it has been operating great and the vibrations are gone. Main reason I am writing my review and giving 5 stars is due to my experience with Mazen. Professional and friendly, he provided me a great experience at Virginia Tire and Auto Chantilly.

These guys don't understand how appointments are supposed to work. I took an afternoon off of work and made an appointment to get a tire patched. It should have taken 20 minutes. When I got there they told me it would take about 3 hours because the were busy (an appointment is supposed to mean that i can skip the line) . Then later they called and told me it wouldn't be done until the next day because one of their people went home early. I was late for work in the morning because they went home early. That's not OK. I would give them two stars because they did fix my tire but they make a big deal about doing a free 21 point vehicle inspection with free fluid top offs. I don't really care about that but they didn't do it. Free or not they shouldn't put with on my invoice if they didn't do it. I know it wasn't done because my wiper fluid was low before I brought my car in and it was still low afterwards. Since they didn't honor my appointment and lied about inspecting my car and topping off the fluids I don't trust these guys.

Go here if you want to be ripped off for safety inspections. failed and quoted $3,500+ to pass, upon doing the repairs myself I discovered that they just invented issues and assumed I wouldn't know better. failed for "lower control arm bushings torn" which was patently false (see pics). also failed for a muffler leak, which I was unable to see whatsoever with a smoke test and stethoscope. these people rely on you not knowing anything about cars and hoping you'll pay thousands for repairs you don't need. I've come here for years (purely out of convenience) and I never will again.

When this was a Goodyear tire and Auto we experienced great customer service, reasonable prices, and quality work since it became VA tire and Automotive everything is about more money! Two times with two different cars experienced the same up selling, delays in promised delivery, and constant up selling! Then when we came to pick up the car they gave us a car that wouldn’t pass inspection with engine light on and brake lights always in! WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!

Went here to do safety inspections, emission and also oil change. The place is clean with a small lounge to watch TV or magazine. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They even offered me a free ride back to my home since the waiting would be a few hours. I took advantage of the free ride and was surprised that they actually pay for a Lyft ride to take me home. Very pleased with the service. I also signed up for their credit card which has no annual fees, and they'll send you regular discount coupons and free service like tire repairs, etc.

Rip off!! Provides a quote over the phone to get the authorization to do the work but then increased the price by 25% upon check out! I should have gotten the quote in writing but I had been a loyal customer for over 20 years and trusted their word. Be very careful when dealing with this company. I will not be back. UPDATE: The business responded to my review within hours of my post and ask that I reach out to them to discuss. I sent an email immediately. So far, no response. IMO, they don't care to resolve the issue but they wanted to appear that they did in order to counter the bad review. Buyer beware!!

Let me start by saying this, do not take your car to this place, If you care about your car. As you can see in the picture they chiped the rims while they were repairing a puncture in the tire. After discussing it with the assistance manager they offered to have the company wheelsonsite to fix it. When they showed up their method of fixing was just to spray pain the chip on a power coated rims. Keep in mind this was a brand new car.

I have been to several locations of Virginia Tire & Auto and all have provided a great experience. They provide the services in a timely fashion, are very informative, have exceptional customer service, and make their prices known prior to getting serviced. The Chantilly location went out of their way after hours to offer to charge my battery for me and make an appointment to get me in the next day. Sebastian was so helpful and kind during the whole process.

This shop are trying to rip me off. They don’t wanna fix my tire but instead trying to upsell me to new tires. Good job, try harder next time. You think all customers are stupid and will just say YES to whatever you wanna upsell. Also. Please clean your bathrooms they smells.

Went in for Inspections Test and Battery Replacement and received excellent service from the entire staff. Orlando and John were both extremely helpful and provided friendly customer service. I hadn't used my car in over 6 months and John was very considerate and spent a good amount of time cleaning all of the debris that had collected underneath the wiper blades of my car. I have been coming here for multiple years and have always left extremely satisfied. They are great at what they do and I highly recommend them for all of your car-related needs!

Very Friendly frontdesk team ...Cody was great..up until now great service....just one thing to mention...I saw a few oil dirty marks and scratches on my car hood paint. when I checked if the oil was done...they can be dust off thank god...Please tell your mechanics to keep things clean after any minor service job is done.... Thanks.
