This company is absolutely disgusting. They are misinformed and illegally tow cars because they can not interpret lows and regulations correctly causing inconvenience to people who are defenseless.

My tenant’s vehicle was towed even though it was legally parked and displaying a valid HOA-issued parking permit that has been used for years without issue. When we went to retrieve the vehicle, the staff claimed the permit was “fake” because it allegedly did not “reflect” under a light. This was completely inaccurate. After contacting the HOA directly, they confirmed the permit was valid. Beyond the improper tow, the customer service was extremely unprofessional. The staff were dismissive, laughed at my tenant, and refused to speak with me over the phone to clarify the situation. The entire experience felt unnecessary and poorly handled. Mistakes can happen, but professionalism and basic respect should not be optional. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this towing company. They are absolute JERKS!

This company is taking advantage of residents. My car was towed right in front of my home because the parking permit was not visible. I understand that permits must be displayed, and I acknowledge that oversight. However, I returned to my vehicle before it was fully hooked and asked the operator to wait so I could get the car key retrieve the permit from inside the car. Instead of allowing me that brief moment, he ignored my request and proceeded to tow the car. The entire interaction lasted less than a minute. I was willing to pay the required drop fee in cash on the spot, but I was not given a reasonable opportunity to do so. When I called to speak with management, they insisted I had to pay the full $270 fee. They stated that I could have paid cash at the time for a drop, yet the driver did not allow me the time, not even a full minute to go get cash or the permit. The vehicle was parked directly in front of my home, and it would have taken less than a minute. This situation feels extremely unfair and unreasonable. I was ready to resolve the issue immediately, but I was not given the chance.

Tony was very professional and understood my concerns. I would recommend them all day!!!!

This was a terrible experience from start to finish. My car had proper authorization to be parked and the only reason it was towed was because I was waiting for my license plate stickers. I had the temporary DMV documentation clearly displayed, which confirms the registration was valid. When I went to retrieve my vehicle, I provided the DMV paperwork as proof, but it was not even properly reviewed, and I was still required to pay the towing fee to get my car back. There was no effort to resolve the issue fairly. The way this company treats people is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. After dealing with this situation, I am honestly glad that my apartment complex decided to drop their contract with this towing company. Because of the inconvenience and error, my apartment complex had to issue me a credit, which further confirms that this situation should not have happened. I’m sharing this so others are aware and can proceed with caution.

My car was towed for a technically valid (parking in visitor spots as a resident with a parking sticker). When I arrived to pick it up, I discovered that one of my windows had been broken during the tow. They agreed to pay for the repair, but I still lost over six hours of my day waiting for everything to be done. Because of the damage and the wasted time, I politely asked a young employee if the company offered any small discount for the inconvenience. I wasn’t being rude — just asking a reasonable question given that my glass was shattered during their process. Instead of answering professionally, he laughed and said, “We don’t do discounts,” and followed it with, “I heard when they talked to you early in the morning and nobody offered you a discount. Call him right now in front of me,” in a very confrontational tone — as if he was challenging me instead of helping a customer. After confirming with the office that there was indeed no discount (which is fine — business is business), I paid the full amount($240). But when I went to start my car, the battery was dead. When I asked the same employee for help, he immediately became sarcastic again, saying, “You want a discount? Here’s your discount — we charge $60 to jump your car,” and laughed like it was a joke. What bothered me the most was the behavior of the young employee working the desk. Instead of handling customers professionally, he acted immature and confrontational the entire time. He laughed at my questions, spoke to me with sarcasm, and even tried to mock me when my car wouldn’t start after I paid. This young employee behaved more like a teenager trying to act tough than someone representing a company. His attitude was disrespectful, unprofessional, and completely unnecessary. No business that cares about its reputation would allow an employee to talk to customers like this.

This company is a Predatory company. This company towed my car last night out of the blue. They just show up and took my car from where it was parked behind my condo where I live. I have a sticker in my car that shows that I live at this condo complex yet that did not matter they still took my car to Chantilly, and I had to take and uber to the back woods of Chantilly where the tow lot is to pick up my car at 10pm at night. Also they charged me 180 for what for stealing my car from my complex. Where my car was parked you would have to be looking for a car to tow to find my car. Do not use this company. They are rude and are out to just steal peoples car from complex where you live. Also, the tow lot is in an really unsafe part of Chantilly. So, do not do what I did and go along and if you do. Please have someone track your location. As it is in the back woods where bad things can happen. Also another note they do not care about kind or nice as they will be rude even when you ask simple questions. This company is a horrible, Predatory company and I have reported them to the BBB.

Rob hard working citizen during the holidays. Rudest drivers in the world. Apparently they only take cash. I seen the driver forcefully take money from a disabled senior citizen on a fixed income to release her car.

This company will argue that low-star reviews are a product of towing companies, and that no one would be happy about having their car towed. In this case, I followed the rules to a T, contacted property management for the community I live in, notified them of a delay in receiving updated registration stickers in the mail for my vehicle. I was informed by the property management that an email had been sent to JDR towing requesting a one-week extension before tow and was provided proof that communication with JDR towing had been made. Due to the incompetence of JDR towing, they still towed the vehicle without authorization and have wasted my time and energy to recover a vehicle which was improperly towed.

I have worked with them for months and they have been responsive to our needs as a apartment complex. They are respectful and understanding. Would highly recommend if they are in your area.

Towed me on a technical bylaw infraction with no warning, scratched my car, refused to compensate. Predatory towers don't give them business least they expand their sphere of misfortune.
Oct 15, 2025 -
Predatory and rude they will tow you without warning and then charge 180+ dollars even in residential areas where you pay to live. Awful customer service and bad attitudes all around. Towing people from their neighborhood at 4 AM without prior warning or incidents

I usually do not rate towing companies but this one takes the cake on IDIOCY. I am forced to put a one star, so I can write my bad review. They moved my car parked near my apartment and turned the direction of the car. I don’t understand what in the world they were doing??? I found their card on my windshield and that is when I called the front desk lady, she tried to play dumb with me.I wasn't notified by the apartment either and I had a parking sticker. So go figure this lunacy.

Was gone from my car for less than 2 hours and they towed it. $180 without warning btw.

I mistakenly parked my vehicle in the wrong letter assigned to my car, when I was told the towing truck was pulling my car, immediately when to tell the driver to please stop that I will move my car, my son also told the driver please stop my Mom will move the car, my neighbors were present at that moment and saw me and my son telling the driver to stop, but the driver just keep driving. I immediately called the office to ask them to please call the driver and tell him to stop before exiting my parking lot but the person on the phone was very rude and told me that was nothing He can do that I have to figure it out and go to pick the car from their place. I immediately called an uber and went to their place, knocked the window to speak with the person in charge and very politely asked please to speak with a manager/supervisor or owner to explain the situation, the person at the site was very rude and told me there is no manager or supervisor or owner that I have to pay $180 if I want the car no other option, and told me If have nothing else to say He will close the window and He closed the window. Then I was able to contact the owner/manager over the phone and again very politely explained to him the situation and I asked, begged him that as the owner/manager please help me I told him I recognized that they are doing their job and I appreciate the work they do for our community, all I asked was for another fee option they can probably charge me the minimum drop fee or any other option instead of the $180. The owners response was also super rude, He told me that the driver didn't saw me that yes a kid come to say my Mom will move the car but he didn't know that was my son and it has to be the owner of the vehicle requesting it not any other person or the son of the owner… Then the owner rudely told me there are no other fees or options it’s all your fault you should have pay more attention to where you were parking!!! the driver didn't see you and if you want your care you have to pay the fee and hung up the phone call. I understand the importance of rules and regulations of a business, but customer services is very important as well, on every business there are always situations that sometimes are exceptions to the rules JDR Towing should consider them or at least treat politely to customers/community. I'm a single mother with only one income and paying $180 plus an uber trip because the driver says didn't see me ….and he didn't know that the kid that was telling and asking please to stop was my son really hurts me, my car was at their place maybe for 1 hour, it is very unfair to pay the full fee of $180. lastly I asked the person in charge of processing the payment if he can please help me charging the fee on different credit cards instead of all the amount on just one card but told me NO you can't do that, you pay all the fee with one card or all cash, JDR Towing has the worst customer service, absolutely cero options to help the customer. JDR definitely does an amazing job towing cars and I know they don’t care at all about my opinion or how paying a $180 fee plus an Uber trip to pick up my car affects me. I just want to express my concern JDR Towing have the worst, an awful customer service, the owner and staff are very well trained about what fees to charge regardless of each situation, they have an amazing knowledge about their regulations and charges, all they care is about charging the money….$$$$$ but they have absolutely cero training on how to treat customers they have cero training or knowledge on analyzing different customers situations, and how to consider offering options to customers or at least been polite on their responses or trying to help the customer.

Predatory. Heartless. Disgraceful. I have been towed by JDR Towing twice from in front of my home at Winding Brook Condominiums—and both times were abusive and exploitative. ? First Tow – Winter 2025: I had already paid my condo $200 for a replacement parking permit and was waiting for delivery, which took over a month. JDR towed me anyway while I was still in active communication with management. When I went to pick up my car, it was sitting in their snowy yard with a dead battery. I had my own jumper cables and my brother came to help me jump it. I had already paid the $200 tow fee—yet they refused to let us jump the car unless I paid another fee, just because the car was still on their lot. I refused. And we had no choice but to physically push my car in the snow out of their yard just to jumpstart it. No decency. No basic human compassion. ? Second Tow – July 21, 2025: I was sick and unable to leave my home. They claim they placed a 48-hour expired inspection notice. I never saw it. I missed a doctor’s appointment, and they charged me another $180 to get my car back. This company hides behind “we’re just doing our job” while targeting and profiting off vulnerable residents. $380 stolen, and not once did they show any empathy or fairness. ✅ I’m filing formal complaints with: • Virginia DPOR • Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Office • BBB and public platforms If JDR Towing wants to make this right, they can contact me directly before this escalates further:

Towing company towed my vehicle out of my reserved spot at my apartment because I didn’t have a sticker on it. Nobody complained about my car being in my spot but they did a sweep of all cars in my complex between midnight and 1am. A towing company shouldn’t be towing if if there aren’t complaints in my opinion.

I had to pick up my son's car and they were professional and polite. Having young college-age sons, I unfortunately have had to deal with my fair share of shady towing companies. I know that people take their frustrations out on towing companies but they are running a business and trying to make a living just like most people. Hopefully my son won't park his car in a tow-away zone again though...but I will call these guys if I ever need a tow due to car trouble!

They towed our vehicle from our apartment complex. We had a valid parking sticker and was still towed! We working with the apartment complex to resolve, but they charged $250 to get vehicle back will be looking forward to working with Fox five news and getting legal representation for predatory procedures based on Virginia Law Statue, and lease parking addendum. The car was illegal removed, no warning sticker or notification. Sweeping by in the early hours to catch you before work.

Of course there’s going to be a bunch of people leaving bad reviews because they’re annoyed they got towed, lol. Personally, I had a great experience engaging JDR Towing. They picked up right away when I called, and were extremely professional and easy to deal with. They had a tow truck over within probably 10 minutes of me calling which I was very impressed by.

They put a warning on my car at 12 am on the 4th in the back where it wasn’t visible the 5th was my birthday I didn’t drive and the next morning my car was gone they had towed my car 12 am on the sixth because my state inspection just expired. Charged 200 dollars because they targeted me and scoped my car out.

This business engages in predatory towing knowing that those towed have little rights or recourse besides small claims court and considers getting caught unlawfully towing just a small business cost. I’ve been towed twice with my parking permit in my window but they will tell you it’s the apartment’s fault and the apartment tells you it’s them. It’s a dirty business deal

This company is predatory. London Towne is doing asphalt repairs this week thus making parking extremely difficult. They knew this and came in and towed all cars ALTHOUGH THERE IS NO PARKING due to Asphalt repairs. Claiming that the HOA told them to tow the cars. I understand doing your job but this was pure scum considering the parking situation London Towne has due to the repairs. They also do not understand towing laws.

Absolute trash company. Stole my car because it was “not” close to the curb. Thieves that just want to make a quick dollar. $20 for gas that they used to go steal my car. Was told “it’s up to the driver” to determine if it would be stolen. Careful when dealing with these thieves.

Incredibly predatory towing company. As a victim of their “business” I beg you not to use this company if you have a legitimate towing need. I was towed from my complex under 30 minutes of arriving and picked up my vehicle in under an hour. 180 dollar fee. Was told “well we don’t set the fees the county does”. This is not a legitimate business, I am aware most towing companies operate in this capacity but please if you are in need of an actual tow use a different company.

My car was towed by this company from the Westerly at Worldgate property in Herndon. I can't really hold anyone responsible for this other than myself. I forgot to place my parking pass on my dashboard. When I found out at 4:30am that my car was gone, I called this company, and they couldn't have been any more professional. When I got to the tow lot, they quickly processed the payment, and I was back in my car within maybe 5 minutes. Sure, I didn't enjoy spending $180 for the tow but again I have no one to blame but myself for it. I have seen some pretty negative reviews for JDR on here and that just wasn't my experience. I guess like everything, your mileage may vary.

JDR towing is indicative of a predatory towing company. The company is located near a restricted parking area for Dulles International Airport. The facility itself consists of a modular/trailer as an office, and the vehicles are stored on a small fenced in gravel lot. The prices for the tow services are not visible to customers. I had to ask the representative to take a picture with my phone in order to view them. When I arrived, there was no staff on site. I had to call and I was subsequently informed that the representative was on a lunch break and he would be back in about 15 min, which he actually returned in excess of 30 min later. I asked why was my car towed, he said for parking in a handicap/disabled spot. I informed him that the spot I was parked in did not have the proper signage. He then stated that the property management requested the tow. I asked if the tow operators were properly trained in parking violations and offenses, but he refused to answer my question. After paying the tow fee of $180, I reviewed the receipt. There was not a visual inspection conducted of my vehicle and there was no damaged indicated. This company employs deceptive practices and provides substandard services. I would not recommend any individual, private or governmental agency to contract or hire them.

Predatory business. My vehicle was towed for being at a friend's apartment that wasn't clearly labeled. I backed my vehicle into a parking spot. At the time of towing the employees pulled my truck forward (Obviously not educated employees) and using degraded/dirty straps stripping the paint off my rims. After pulling my truck forward detached my vehicle and attached it from the back wheels AGAIN stripping the paint from my rims. This is a brand new truck. When I retrieved the truck several things happened. 1. The place is a dump and the employee REFUSED ( asked twice) to wear a mask stating that they were exempt from the Global Pandemic. (You can report this behavior on the VA.gov site.) 2. When confronted about my rims and tires the employee got VERY aggressive (still no mask) telling me I did it before hand... keep in mind BRAND NEW truck. 3. When asked for the owners number he refused. Telling the the manager ( Jose Rivas) would call me. I knew he was lying. He told me the managers name I found the owners number on the BBB website and the owner is Jose Rivas! Lied twice at this point. Easy find just Google it. 4. Getting ready to leave this "establishment" and noticed my dash lights were going haywire. I came back inside to let the employee (who wouldn't give his name) yelling and cursing about me to someone. (Presumably Jose). He told me with the new cars the electronics go crazy and would settle after a few miles. I have driven 40 miles at this point and engine light is still on. (Probably from trying to pull a truck forward in a locked position...smart) 5. I called Jose and he basically said I was not intelligent enough to know that it wasn't his companies fault at all. Not saying he isn't responsible for the damage but stating he didn't cause it. I have before and after pictures that will be going to the Fairfax General Attorney's office. Lastly, this predatory, unprofessional business and owner troll parking lots (not full or even close to full) looking for people to prey on. No one reported my vehicle as the employee told me they troll parking lots at night but who knows he already lied 2x before. They also charge way more than allowed. Towing laws below. Just Google it. Have a safe day! Fairfax County (.gov) › Chapter 82 – Towing - Fairfax County

Nice people, Not a bad experience but one pretty big problem. First off let me just say that people generally are not having a good day when they need or have to pay for a tow truck. I got my car towed and it was totally my fault, i should have put up a guest pass. The people were nice, fast, no issues there. I saw the 2 star review and was initially concerned. The problem, the only reason i didnt give them 5 stars is because of the 40 foot of tire marks behind my car. When they towed my car, they didnt do the thing to the transmission (they get under the car) to put the car in neutral. They are suppose to do that as soon as they can lift the car. So they dragged the car, probably putting flat spots on the tires and tons of unnecessary wear on the trans mission of my 2 year old car. That was very disappointing. I guess towing a car is generally a pretty rough job on the car anyways so I shouldnt have left my car in the parking spot after hours without a pass. BTW, the picture is over 24 hours after the tow and was much more noticable the day of. I park in this lot daily so i know the marks were not there.
