What clients say about The Tow Truck Company in Las Vegas (NV)
Tow Truck Company engages in blatant theft. I came out of the house to go pick up my oldest son from school this afternoon and, surprise, no car in the driveway! I'm a single mother in a one-car family, and Tow Truck Company had actually stolen my car OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY in the middle of the day while I was taking care of my sick 11 year old upstairs: I could hardly believe the sight of my empty driveway! It is a shocking thing to have happen, but the TTC are brazen as can be, knowing that our overstretched police force won't do anything about it. When I called Tow Truck Company and tried to explain their mistake, they refused to accept any responsibility, making the ridiculous claim that they are operating in accordance with a law which states that the HOA can give them authority to remove any car in that community which may block an entrance to anything in said community, and in this case they say that the "anything" being blocked was MY GARAGE. MY CAR WAS IMPEDING MY GARAGE (my house is paid in full, by the way, so it is indeed 100% my garage). What kind of erosion of homeowner's rights is happening here if a company can steal your most valuable possession off of your private property and ransom it back to you, all while the law does nothing? To add insult to injury, every time I said that I wouldn't pay to get back a car they stole, THEY hung up on ME, like I had hurt their feelings. This happened three times. Since Bryan, the manager (and owner, perhaps?) and his staff operate knowing they have taken what is usually an individual's most valuable and necessary possession, they are confident that they can behave as badly as they want to and all the while the car owners are forced to swallow the disrespect, the double talk, and the arrogance right along with the good old fashion extortion. I will definitely be petitioning my HOA to get these financial predators out of our neighborhood, writing to the DA about the seriousness of towing companies behaving like racketeers against honest, law-abiding, families -- taking their cars for ransom with impunity, twisting the law to try to justify their fundamentally unjust acts, and selling what they have taken for profit if the owner can't afford the fee. I had to pay $415 to get my car back today! I want to believe that the police and the property managers who may have contracted this company simply aren't aware yet of their disreputable conduct, and are not colluding with them in any way, because the voters of Las Vegas need and deserve local institutions that are operated with integrity and will protect residents from the menace of thieves, extortionists, and mercenaries like Tow Truck Company.
This company has threatened to remove my vehicle for an "expired registration." NRS 706.4477(2)(c) clearly states that that you "cannot have a vehicle towed (from apartment complex or private residence) solely because the registration of the vehicle is expired." This law was written to prevent tow companies from working with apartment complexes and engaging in predatory towing schemes, which is exactly what they're doing, preying on vulnerable people.
Management at my apartment complex claims that "the parking agreement reads; residents cannot have vehicles without a registration." Management was UNAWARE of the law which was passed in 2021 to prevent this exact situation. The vehicle DOES have plates, is fully insured, operational, and parked in a private space which I pay for, located on the property that I rent. The police could have my vehicle towed if I was driving without a registration, and the apartment could have my vehicle towed if I was blocking a fire hydrant or parked in a spot which doesn't belong to me, but as of right now, I am within my rights to have my vehicle parked where it is - my designated parking spot.
The Tow Company also back-dated the violation notice as "written on the 7th" but placed it on my window on the 9th. I'm assuming they've done this to other vehicles as well and it's entirely unethical. I have not given this company (nor my apartment complex) a reason to tow my vehicle, and if they tow my vehicle for an expired registration, standing in direct violation of NRS 706.4477(2)(c), they will be hearing from my lawyer. This company is engaging in predatory towing practices which stand in direct violation of state law, and as far as I can tell, the apartment complexes are helping them.
The photos (attached below) show the "Violation" warning they left on my window. The vehicle is authorized to be there, it has plates, and my parking pass is clearly visible in the window. They wrote "Expired Reg!" which brings us to the second photo, the exact law which states it's ILLEGAL to tow me. The third photo is my vehicle, parked in my designated spot, with my parking pass on display.
My car was illegally towed. I have submitted complaints to the Nevada Transportation Authority, the Better Business Bureau, and law enforcement. I also have proof of their wrongdoing and am pursuing legal action. I would strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with this company. Always know your rights and document everything!
WHY DID WE NOT GET A 24HR NOTICE PRIOR TO TOWING?
It is sad that you have employees who are disrespectful in the year 2025. Michelle should not be working in any customer service field as she requires training. While speaking to her she failed to listen to the information being given so much that I had to repeat myself multiple times. She also went as far as hanging the phone on me while I still had questions. She also insists that there is no Lorraine working at the company when we spoke to a Lorraine on 4/24/25 in which she had also told us that the vehicle towing my car had met into an accident after they had dropped off my car at your facility. We are working on getting camera footage as it was said that the tow company pulled my vehicle out of the parking spot and made it looked as if I was obstructing the entry to the garage or the road itself. I will be filing a formal complaint as you took almost $400 from a college student just to make end of month quotas. This company should not be in business or its employees Lorraine & Michelle. I appreciate Anthony being courteous and patient with us as the vehicle was towed unnecessarily. There are photos to prove as many vehicles have and still are parking in that same exact spot. We have been living there over a year and have never seen anyone being towed from that particular spot. ZERO stars to this company, you should refund my child her $344.50, she is a college student, and I am sure you had other business to attend to. STOP TARGERTING THE KIDS to meet your end of month quota. The car was towed in less that 10hrs and it costed us $344.50. That is total robbery for a Nissan Sentra and no discounts because your employees are horrible people, I am sure if this was their child they would have not been happy.
Let me tell you what happened. I just recently moved into this neighborhood, less than 3 days ago. I parked my car in front of my house, as you can see in the pictures. However, the sidewalk in front of the neighboring house was damaged from the recent rain. Even though I had my hazards on, I was parked a little too close to the damaged area. But, most of my car was still not in the red zone. I went inside to grab groceries and help my elderly mother and autistic brother. Within 5 minutes, a 20-year veteran comes out and my car is already gone. I feel like my car was towed without any warning or reason. I had left my door open, as I was dealing with stomach problems and needed to use the bathroom. When I came back outside, my car was nowhere to be seen. Now, I am being asked to pay over $600 to retrieve my car. Keep in mind, it has only been 3 days since I moved here and I work at Walmart, where I don't make a lot of money. I am the sole provider for my family and this situation is completely absurd. I am desperately seeking help.
Bad customer service support, I was talking to someone who was talking to me about my car being towed from my condominium complex and when I mentioned they didn’t have any reason to taken it and I mentioned I was about to take it to the court and they hung up on me
SCAMMERS AND THIEVES!!!! They stole my car in the middle of the night while it was parked in a handicap spot WITH OUR STICKER ON THE MIRROR AS ALWAYS. They said there was no sticker and when we went to get the car our back windows were down for some reason and they STOLE our handicap sticker!!!
Zeroo zero zero rating. It's a total scamming company. Never ever buy a vehicle from their auction. It's been 6 months since I bought a vehicle from them I still didn't get t a title for it, I can't get license plate, no registration and can use or sell the vehicle.
So never ever fall for their scamming auction thing.
What can I say about this place? Unbelievable, everyone I tell about these guys. Tell me it's too good to be true. So I guess unbelievable would be the word, but it's true. They are that good and the deals on the cars are really that good. They are outstanding. The safety that they bring to the table is so important to me when it comes to big rigs and getting them out of a ditch or hairy situations that goes unseen a lot of times.
It's at the top of my list.
I have wanted to move to Vegas just to go to the auction every week. Honestly, one of the best companies, I've had the pleasure to do business up the good work.
Your loyal patron Steve (The DINGO)
These people stole my car I was taking out water from the car went upstairs the apartment not even 1 min and they showed up and towed my car and I was there and others telling the man to stop he took it anyways and had to call the police to get my stuff he would not return my purse or phone and even nudged my husband with the car. And as we were taking pictures of the logo to know who took the car he has the nerve to smile for the picture saying cheese infront of the police officer I had to call. They were not helpful at all the woman on the phone said go ahead and call the police so I did the police had to come just to retrieve my items. They also charged me close to 400 just to get my car not even 10 mins later we arrived as they were dropping it off. The distance was very close they are ripping off the miles and towing fee as they claim. Highly unprofessional.
The best place to go to get a car at the auction on Wednesdays. Myself and my friends have bought probably 20+ cars over the years. I always suggest going here if you're looking for a good deal.
Great company, really friendly staff , very accommodating.
They are very helpful when you are in a difficult situation
Would recommend 100%
Aaron from Ireland 🇮🇪
Love this place the employees are helpful polite and courteous the auctions are amazing RED still doing his thing been buying cars from them since I moved to Vegas in 2022 best auction in Vegas by far would recommend everyone looking to buy a car or that flies cars to to down and check them out and the tacos are delicious.
It is an excellent company, with excellent human quality and exceptional hospitality. I have bought a vehicle and have brought several friends who have also bought their vehicles here. Their employees are excellent people, very professional in their work and they have an excellent fleet of cranes to provide great service. I recommend it.
If you have never been to a public auto auction… this is the one! By far the best and easiest going I have ever been too. The people are friendly , the deals are great, and they have tacos for all bidders….
Terrible company that doesn’t serve any purpose here in Vegas accept to take money from hard working citizens while they’re sleeping. All in the name of “the law’ like they’re the parking police
Towed my car out of my apt building from
A spot I park In Every night but because my handicapped placard fell down to center console while exiting the car these crumb snatchers take advantage of any chance to make a buck not because the car is bothering anybody but because they can make some Money doing it that’s all they care about they’re actually ruining relationships between the apt building and it’s tenants I know ppl who have moved out of the community because of these BS tow truck drivers who make living on the short comings of others I wouldn’t call this company to change a tire for me they might say your illegally parked and tow your car on the spot but it’s ok I’ve contacted the NTA, BBB, DOT, I’m just waiting for a call back from channel 14 news for an interview cause even if what they are doing is legal it’s still not right and it needs to be exposed.
Had the worst experience. Zero customer service skills. The female supervisor who answers the phone is the rudest not only over the phone but also in person. She has a bad attitude and she cusses at customers.
Rudest, nastiest, grossly inappropriate staff I’ve ever encountered in my life. This place employs a female “manager” that talks to people like they are trash, whilst expecting to collect $1000s of dollars for their impounded vehicles. God help you if you are forced into dealing with these people.
Went in to fill out an application for a driver. The office was upbeat and friendly. The camaraderie was stellar. I was laughing the whole time I was there. I didn't see too much interaction with customera but the girl at the window was super friendly. The back office girls were very accommodating. I wasn't a customer but the company seems like it's on it game for sure. As a life long native I have never heard anything bad about this company. And as a former tow guy the people I worked with say that it's a great company.
Liars and scammers, towed my car while it was in front of my own driveway at 3:37 AM. Their invoice showed that they received notice to tow at 3:34 AM and got there at the same time and then notified law enforcement at 3:37, which when we spoke to them he police late morning they had no record of it being towed. Can’t even keep their lies straight. Going to file a complaint against them and the HOA responsible for unlawful towing, I recommend others do the same, civillawselfhelpcenter dot gov is a good resource.
Had my car towed this morning. Parked in the wrong spot. But this company at least did the correct thing when towing my car and used dollies because it's all wheel drive. And there was no damage. So kudos to them. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because of the expensive fee to get my car back.
I have no idea why the business leaves responses to reviews saying “please contact us directly for any problems,” I’ve tried contacting them on 3 separate occasions. I genuinely hope these people go out of business. They are scammers and con artists. If you don’t claim your vehicle within a certain amount of time, they own it and auction it off. These people get their money off of theft. They steal your cars. Let’s call it what it is and let’s act like it, because that is their business model. They are running a for-profit towing company and do not care about anything besides their bread. They do not care about towing people’s cars at apartment complexes. They towed about 100 cars at my complex and never ever did anything to rectify it.
These people are making a killing! Shady and don't need to have any proof to gladly tow your car after “someone’s” calling stating that spot belongs to them! I know I'm not the only person who has had a bad experience with this 5 star company! I wish more people would post there interactions with them. Not only do they have just one sign posted that I had to search for, they have to hide in a trailer and open a little window from fear of all their happy customers who they give great customer service too!
Great experience from beginning to end. Called them after they were referred to me. Was hesitant because of the reviews.
For the semi truck heavy duty division they are 100% honest, reliable and will not nickel and dime you. The dispatcher David was friendly and efficient, the driver Tony out of this world! Their equipment was top notch see photos. I needed my semi truck trailer and oversized load moved off the shoulder of hwy 318 by mile marker 13. Called them and David answered. David was patient and asked for all relevant details.
Tony the driver was a pleasure to work with. Friendly, knowledgeable and now makes me want to get into the heavy tow truck business!
FYI, their bad reviews are mostly because of 4 wheelers that were being towed away.
They might not be the cheapest, but they will get the job done. 120 miles for $2200. Well worth it when you have oversize load and the nearest turn around for them is another 30 miles.
Just stole my car after saying it hasn't been driven! They took my wheelchair and my fiances only way of getting to work! We don't have 400$ to give to these people. This is a disgusting practice and layers WILL be called if my car is not given back to us.
Old Blue broke down in Beatty NV. Call after call to towing companies were met by extremely low bids and a week to ten days of waiting (requiring hotel accommodations) which by then Old Blue would have been towed off by the police. Another company gave us a reasonable bid only to tell us an hour before his arrival time that 'he took another gig instead'. A call to an RV park and they referred us to THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY. Joe answered the phone and immediately we could tell we'd be ok. First question was if we were safe. He listened to our predicament. Then it was on to business creating a plan to get Old Blue home hundreds of miles away. He quoted us a fair price AND SHOWED UP WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD! Upon his arrival he & his truck was clean and professional looking....not grunged out. He asked all the right questions and made polite small talk as he attended to the task of getting Old Blue loaded. He ensured we filled out a the paperwork work correctly, confirmed the plan to get Old Blue home, gave us his business card, and was on his way.
This whole ordeal had been two days of HELL dealing with other tow truck companies. The moment Joe answered the phone that all went away. Joe took excellent care if getting Old Blue home safely. His professionalism was greatly appreciated. His knowledge of the area incredibly helpful. His understanding of situation was comforting. The moment Joe was on the job we knew we were in good hands and everything would be ok.
If you break down between Las Vegas and Reno.....call Joe and save yourself a lot of unnecessary aggrevation, frustration, and stress. He took excellent care of us and I'm sure he'll do the same for you. He's an incredible credit to his company and deserves a bonus and raise.
This was my first visit to an auction in the US, it was really interesting to watch. There were some good cars, some of them sold for a really low price.
