If you don't care about how much money you get this place is great.
Showed up with a truck full of dirty aluminum and tin mixed told them I'd have to get on the scale twice and dump it separately. He told me no need of and give you tin for everything.. $70 a ton because of some fabric on some of the patio furniture.
I told him I can get That fabric off of each piece in about 5 minutes then will you give me dirty aluminum price?
He seemed to get irritated with me at that point and said if you want to sit here and clean it all up I'm going to check each individual piece to make sure I pay you accordingly.
I told him forget it I don't have time for that.
Guy would have paid me $65 for my load.
Went to champion recycling by Palace station and got $395 with way less hassle.
I've heard stories about this with b&b but never actually experienced it until now first time & last time there for me.
For more than 5 years my husband has been going to this location. He has provided everything they ask for , as he is an electrician and often gets recycling to bring home. He never had a problem , everything ran smoothly and was fine , until about a few months ago. They switched the man working the weighing station. The new man seems to not have any idea what he’s doing, constantly talks to other employees to figure out what to do. My husband went today with some aluminum and type 2 copper ballasts. Please keep in mind, this is recycling that our family has worked on multiple days to disassemble, and clean.
As my husband pulls in to unload recycling, he’s asking the new employee how he wants it done. Immediately the new employee gets attitude and starts something. My husband says, this is how he used to unload and weigh items. The new employee does not care and continues getting attitude and aggression. My husbands finishes and goes to give his ticket to get paid. As he’s waiting he talks to the “Boss”. The boss gets irritated, my husband mentions something about the new guy and the problems. Then the boss gets
Irritated and mentions “50 cents a pound for all aluminum, that’s it”. My husband continues getting checked out and then comes home, only to find out they didn’t even list the correct metal on the screen. Nor did he get $0.50 cents for the clean aluminum. He brought in 2 buckets of copper type 2. He was paid for transformers for about $48 dollars. This is completely wrong. He had to go back and get it fixed. They tried to literally screw him over for $500 dollars.
Sounds like the guys at the scales or the people in the office are doing a horrible job. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.
The typical beautiful mess of a materials yard. It was pleasantly slow on the Friday I arrived with a little morsel. Staff was helpful and mindful...instructing me as I was clearly a newbie...a hude relief and points for them. I do recommend familiarizing or dumping your raw materials there...I left with cash in hand!
Nobody was there. Waited 15 min for the attendant, he comes over and immediately cops an attitude. I had 100+ lbs of brass casings and shavings, he tells me they need to be sorted by caliber. I told him they were not reloadable as they are all damaged and basically “shredder” brass. Literally turned his back and walked away, no response. Zero customer service, worst recycler I have ever been to.
I am new to big item recycling. Just a private citizen.I had an aluminum awning get broken in a windstorm and did not want to just throw the parts into the landfill. I decided to recycle and found this place close to my home. I was confused as to where to go and what to do, but the workers there were very helpful. The alum sold for 50c a pound, so I made $4. I felt like I worked too hard ;) for the money, but that didn't count really, because of my intention. Next time, I will know what to do, which actually is simple. The overall experience was amazing, seeing the different material piles and the equipment.
Always friendly staff, quick and easy way to get rid of scrap metal items you might have otherwise thrown away. Perfect for large awkward items you want to get rid of and they'll even pay you for it.
I went to this yard on 03-29-23 to sell some nonferrous I have been collecting. I had 2 bags of Crushed cans, a bin of cleaned water heater T&P valves and a few lbs of water heater copper tubes. Guy on the scale requested a contractor license for the brass and copper and pointed to their sign that states one is required since 02-01-23 for copper WIRE of any kind. Did NOT say anything about tubing or brass. So they would not accept my business. I get that there are a lot of shady people out there that steal, but old water heater valves are NOT something you can steal from a construction site. 1st trip here and never again.
So my first time here, 2nd scrap yard in Vegas I’ve tried, I’ll be going back and recommending this place to anyone that ask. Very polite, and helpful employees. Front desk ladies ready to answer all questions, patient and helpful as I had questions about other things to scrap even though she said they couldn’t handle. First rate experience.
The employee's are very polite and helpful. I will say they rate higher. Than a 3.8. l fate them at a 4.5 stars, since they pay more than champion recycling.by more than $.45. Cents on,#1 copper.
We used BB Recycling for a large project in Las Vegas and utilized their scrap rolloff service. BB recycling always picked up my calls and was able to swap out rolloffs within 24 hours (if not the same day). Highly recommend this company.
We called and were quoted a certain price (we were very specific about description, we scrap this material often) upon arrival we were told they wouldn’t take it, then they wouldn’t take half, then they would take it all but for half of what I was quoted over the phone. Asked to see if a manager could come examine the material since we had driven 2 hours and was told no.
Drove elsewhere and made an extra $1,500 immediately
The office staff acted frustrated we were there so close to the end of the day which we were. We weren’t aware they closed at 3:00 pm, we were a little surprised there.
The guys out in the yard were very polite and kind but the back and forth over pricing, miscommunication, and lack of customer service from management left us very disappointed. If the guys out in the yard hadn’t been so polite it would be a 1 star.
For truckers loading here: make darn sure the loaders know what you are picking up and where it's going. There are language difficulties here if you only speak English. Loading took about 30 minutes when they loaded the wrong stuff (cardboard) but +3 hours when they loaded loose metal scrap in to a 53' dry van. As far as junkyards go it's not bad and doesn't smell like a rotting beer/carcass sess pool.
