Called Shantel Towing and the dispatcher was quick and efficient and understood immediately that timing was an issue. Driver there in 21 minutes, jumped the car, tested the battery, showed me the reading and told me it was not going to survive another Texas summer. Replaced it that weekend. If I could give a 0 stars, I definitely would. I scheduled a tow on Sunday afternoon for a Monday morning (8:00 a.m.) pickup. It is currently 9:50 a.m. on Monday morning and I still haven't seen a tow truck. This awful company (if you can even call it that) has done absolutely nothing but give me the run around all morning. I finally was able to speak with the tow truck driver, and he is not even affiliated with this company. I had no idea that this company was a third party that merely schedules other tow trucks out. They do not tell you that they are a third party company and nothing is correct whatsoever. Had I known that they were not an actual towing company, I would have definitely moved on and found my own. My experience with this company is the most ridiculous experience I have ever had.

Called Shantel Towing when my car broke down on Hemphill Street near the 76104 area and described the drop height and the front lip configuration before agreeing to anything. Dispatcher confirmed flatbed immediately and asked about the clearance so the driver could set the approach angle before arriving. Driver showed up in 23 minutes with exactly the right setup, loaded the car without scraping anything, and delivered to my shop near the Near Southside without adding a single new mark anywhere. The driver showed up in about 30 minutes, texted me to confirm he’d found her, and patiently walked her through everything since it was her first breakdown. He even called me again once the car was safely dropped off at our mechanic near downtown something I didn’t even ask for. My sister said he was calm and reassuring the whole time, which made a stressful situation feel a lot easier. Highly recommended!

These people are scammers, the company phone is answered by a local individual who then routes you through some call center in India who schedules your tow and charges an agreed upon price with a " $60 cancellation fee" warning. A fee is understandable, a tow truck that has already driven to come get you and gets a last minute cancelation deserves at least SOME compensation. $60 is quite steep, however, that's not even the real issue. These people called us like an hour later to tell us the tow truck they were sending broke down and they have to send another one that is about 14 minutes away, ok cool. EXCEPT they are now saying it's going to be an additional $50 because they are coming from further away. The company had already withdrawn the money from the original order BEFORE service was completed and are now telling us an additional $50 that wr DONT HAVE is required, so request cancelation due to the fact that they broke the original terms and it was on THEIR end that the service was not completed. They agree to refund our money but inform us that due to us canceling the tow truck they will still be charging $60! (The agent also pathetically says "it's not $60 it's $59.99) The point here, is this was the WORST experience I ever had for a tow service that never even provided the service and I do NOT recommend them. The cancellation was due to them being unable to complete the original terms of service and then them changing the terms of service without our consent and then they stole an unwarranted cancellation fee too. The tow company we ended up going with was amazing and I highly recommend them. Classic auto wrecker service
