You will pick up your car in worse shape than how you brought it in. Their “warranty” is to bring it back to their shop that made your issue worse at. I now have to have the initial issue fixed at the dealership where I should have taken it to in the first place because when they touched my car, it now sounds like it’s falling apart. You signed your car away for any of these issues the second you signed your paperwork. Stay far away and just pay the extra fee going somewhere else if you’re trying to be cheap by using this place or you’ll end up having to pay someone else to fix the initial issue and the new one they caused to your vehicle.

Modified Imports fixed up my 2000 Honda Civic SI after I neglected it for 2 years. They did a fantastic job getting it back to a running state and I couldn’t be happier. My timing belt had broke while I was driving back in 2023, I had bent valves, my radiator was cracked, etc. Even with all my issues, they got my car fixed and running within a week and a half. Thank you to the owner, Thomas, and all of their employees for fixing my car. I cannot thank them enough. Modified Imports also has a year warranty for every part they replace which for a mechanically challenged individual as myself is pretty good.

Lack of a website as well as their courtesy. The Tech or whomever was appalled at the thought to be able to write/code BMW modules on a Bench. It lowered my confidence to perform business with this establishment, for what I was requesting was generally not difficult by any means. The attendant on the phone, it would be great to have someone that understands and not mistake ones words

This business owner is a scam artist, he was paid to do a diagnostic on my car, he quoted me 1700 for an alternator, when i told him i declined, he made up a charge for 20percent restocking fee for parts he never ordered ( couldnt even provide a receipt as proof for the charge) , not only did he charge me a 20percent of restock fee for parts, but he charged me 20percent of total quote he gave me which i ended up having to pay him near $500 to get my car back, he did absolutely no work to it, and Another repair shop did the job for $850.Do not use this place he will scam u, i reported him to the BBB and to my cc company for fraudulent charges

These guys (and the ladies) are always helpful even just to answer any questions. They are professional and truly know there stuff. By their parking lot it is obvious that many people trust their work. I have called for advice from these guys several times and am always treated great and even given ideas for what to do for my issues. This is the first time I've used them to actually repair my vehicle as I have always fixed my own vehicles. I'll tell you though, they are thorough and precise and the work will be done right.

Great fast, friendly service with a fair price. Thomas came out and showed me my old worn out parts after new ones were installed which was cool. 5 stars would recommend.

I don't know what happened to the place, but I've tried calling several times to get my mini serviced with no one to answer the phone. I finally got through today to be told that I cannot get it in for 2 weeks, which is fine, but I'll be gone during that time. I'd like to drop it off to get fixed, but that isn't a thing anymore. I was pleased with the work that was done last time, but if I can't get it in, and no one answers the phone in the first place. Come on!

They do quality work here! I can’t say enough about how nice and welcoming their staff is. They are also upfront, are clear on pricing and dependable. Everything they do is with the customers best interest in mind!! I will be a repeat customer.

Update: As I mentioned in the original review. It's not the initial sale but the follow through when issues occur. Thomas did get ahold of me and replaced the clutch for free. I applaud him for taking care of it and would encourage others to give him an opportunity to make it right if issues occur. As a result I was would trust him to work on future vehicles. ************************************************ I'm extremely frustrated with Modified Import. Spent over $2k on a new clutch and only 3 months later I am left stranded on the side of the road. Called numerous times to hear busy signals and when I finally got through I was told I had to wait another 3 weeks just to be looked at. I even asked if it was ok to tow it so that could look at it when they had a moment only to be told NO. The true test of a company is not the initial sale or service but when problems occur after the fact. Today they gave me the impression that they simply don't care about ensuring the job is done right and the customer is made whole. Beware once they get your money you are just another number and an inconvenience. I hope that Thomas (owner) will call me back and prove me wrong and restore my faith in Modified Import.

Had a door handle repair for a 06 bmw on 4/9/24 that lasted me until 6/9/24. I made the mistake of accidentally throwing away my repair paper one week prior and modified import repairs willingness to accommodate me for that was 0. Customer service was rude and firm in the statement that I’d have to pay full price again to get the door handle replaced again two months after repair which was 500$ to begin with. With their mistake on the job with the door handle that it break in two months and their lack of care to be a company that puts their customers needs first despite obstacles that a customer may make. The man who runs the shop/does the repairs wouldn’t even look at the car to say if he remembered fixing it or not. This would not be a place i recommend to make your long time mechanic. The man who runs the company only cares about money and if you’re in a situation like me squeezing you out for as much as he can get.

Save your time/money & go elsewhere!! Owner is unprofessional and very sassy! Vehicle would be picked up with all of the codes cleared like problem was fixed, then would cut completely off on me. Car had to be returned 3x, just for the same problem to occur again + other issues after him claiming it was driving fine the same day i picked it up. Your vehicle will just sit around at modified & have the same problem you started with, if not more!!

Thomas and his team are always the first person I call for any car issues. He and his team are extremely knowledgeable, and always provides a great breakdown of next steps. Always a very pleasant experience with his shop.

There are multiple horror stories about this place on online forums and I witnessed it myself when someone I know had to have their car worked on. Quoted them a price and then ended up bumping the price up an extra 200 due to charging for fluids for a completely different service even though my buddy didn't ask for the service they provided. The original issue wasn't even fixed in the end. Owner of the shop wouldn't budge at all with the price even though his workers quoted a much lower price in the beginning. Definitely recommend going somewhere else

I would like to start off by saying, please never let this shop work on your car. By me being in the customer service industry for over 30 years, I do my best not to be in any way "critical" of a business in which I do business with, doing my best to keep an open mind. But this shop was so egregious with their poor service that I received. I have to speak out and alert the public. After paying over $1200 in parts and labor for 1 bad shock I was rudely hung up on by the owner for simply stating my concerns about the work he had done. After he replaced one air shock the other three malfunctioned after three days and now none of them will work. All of them functioned fine before I took it to him and I only had him replace the one as preventative maintenance. After letting him know what was going on and bringing it back to him he accused me of causing the problem. Not only did he he insult me like I done something wrong he charged me for causing me more problems than I had before taking it to him. Anyone would deserve so much better service than that but he treats his customers like dirt. Please do not take your car to this guy!

Took my car there for a AC recharge and a coolant flush everything was fine for the AC I went and picked my car up and it overheated on my way home. turned around and drove back i had no heat out of the vents they tried to bleed the coolant system agian l without the heat on so the heater core was getting no coolant I ended up taking my car home the next day I went in to ask for a refund for my coolant flush that was not done properly the owner who by the way is extremely rude the only thing that he kept saying was that I'm not getting my money back he wouldn't even let me have a conversation with him either don't let these hacks work on their car

Impressed by the mechanics and the desk team at Modified Import Repairs. Though I live out-of-town, the shop fit me into their schedule on short notice to do a pre-sale inspection of a used vehicle I was considering buying from a dealership located in a city nearby. The team assessed the vehicle promptly and explained what they found in the vehicle inside and out, answering my many questions and giving peace of mind about the general mechanical state of the vehicle. The glaring issues they found in the vehicle gave me bargaining power during negotiations with the dealer, who brought down their asking price by 20%.

I’ve been going to this shop for all my MINI needs. Thomas and his technicians are great! The front office lady is sweet! They always communicate and will work with you when it comes to costs. Great work and will help when you’re in a bind!

I have a Volkswagen Passat that recently got a transmission installed here and my car is running like new. I would recommend this business to anyone! I wouldn’t want to get any other work done on my car but here, best in Clarksville hands down. With the owner being so busy he still took the time to teach me about my oil. Also a shoutout to Hannah for the awesome customer service, very sweet lady. I can’t thank you all enough!

Had a very bad experience with Thomas at Modified Imports. I dropped off a 1994 honda prelude SI May 24th 2020. Said he would have it finished that same week that i dropped it off. Needless to say i picked up car car October 20th 5 months later and he never took the time to touch it. He would never call me to give me updates on the car or inform me that he was or wasn't working on it. He told me several times that the car would be done at the end of the week. He told me that every week for 5 months to be precise. He lied to me in the process of buying parts and shipping times. Said that he had ordered parts for it, and due to the COVID-19 the carrier services were slow with delivery times, which was a lie. 5 months later and no parts? I just had a very unpleasant experience with Thomas holding my car up for almost half a year just to pick it up with no progress made to the car at all. All i needed was the distributor replaced so my car would get spark. I wouldn't recommend this place if you really want an honest person working on your car. I definitely will not be returning or recommending any one here.

Good mechanic work, very knowledgeable we have been there several times. But recommended my sister, and on her job, which did not have any complications, they charged 5 labor hours versus 3 that Nissan would've charged and Goodyear would of done it in 2. She ended up paying more than she had to if she'd gone to those places rather where I recommended. I was very disappointed, when we first came here we asked about honesty, seems greed took over honesty, unless you have lots of money to spend, go get other quotes and compare.

The owner (Thomas) and the rest of the crew were very professional, honest and very knowledgeable about European cars. Their prices are very reasonable and I would definitely recommend them to anyone with a European car or any car. I will definitely be going back the next time I need my cars serviced. Customer for life.

Absolutely my go to for my 89 prelude. Business owner is a very cool guy and they know what they are doing and stand by it. I won’t do business with anyone else that doesn’t hold this standard like they do. They are also affordable. They have ruined me on going to another off hand mechanic. Keep up the great work guys. If you have an import I would definitely recommend them for their great service and excellent work.

These guys are great! They know their cars and know what they're doing no doubt. Would recommend to anyone who needs a BMW worked on (or any car I suppose, I've only taken my BMW there) but they save you time and money. We've always gotten our car back within a day or so and the price is fair (definitely better than the dealer). Also, I'm a big and firm believer on customer service...they are wonderful! So nice and helpful and all around just great. As long as I live in Clarksville definitely my go to mechanic shop.

Have finally came in for service after calling them on the phone multiple times. Each time, a knowledgeable mechanic would answer the phone and provide advise and reassurance as to what my vehicle may need or not need. Very pleased with the service. Only Time can tell.

Multiple shops telling me that I need a rear main seal replacement on my mini Cooper and it's going to cost $1500. As soon as I spoke to Thomas I knew he was an EXPERT! Very knowledgeable. Most important very HONEST. Not only was his quote $500 cheaper he also told me that from experience he believed that the seal was probably not bad. If it was what he thinks it is he said it will probably only cost me around $200 bucks. I told him even if I were to find it cheaper I will still bring all my vehicles and my friends cars here. To me honesty is the best policy!

I have known this shop and Thomas since he opened it. From the first location to the current. His work is impeccable. He knows what he's doing and his workmanship shows it. He demands perfection and professionalism and would reccomend anyone to take their vehicle to his shop. Your car will be done and done right the first time with no worries. You and your vehicle will be well taken care of.

Thomas was great to deal with! They accurately found the problem when another shop could not and fixed it. Would recommend them in a heart beat. Fair and honest. I just moved here from Michigan and need ed a good BMW mechanic

They did an outstanding job on my Ford Shelby GT 500. Repaired my car. I don,t know a lot about cars. They took time with me. They gave me multiple part options. The cost was much lower them the dealer. Both the Thomas's are great. I'm not sure what the people in the other reviews are talking about. I love this shop.

Never go here! This place is a complete ripoff. I took my 2009 Subaru in because the engine had blown up. They talked me into getting a rebuild as my best option. Rebuild cost $4200 which I was more than willing to pay. They gave me the car back and it sounded like a lawn mower. It had a knock to it which he said was normal on this model...cool. I paid them and went on my way. Within two weeks the check engine light came on throwing a misfire in cylinder 3 and 4. I took it back to them and they said my plug wires and possibly ignition coil needed to be replaced. I replaced the plug wires, and that did not alleviate the problem. I then replaced the ignition coil too as directed. The light kicked on again after a day of being reset and showed the same codes as before. I took it back to them to check on it, and he then told me that the spark plugs had a compression leak and he had replaced all 4 plugs. I drove it away and the engine light kicked on no more than 5 minutes down the road. I took it right back and let them know and he said the ignition coil probably needed to be replaced. I had already done that once per his directions and he fed me some line about faulty parts from the manufacturer I purchased the coil from since I didn't purchase it from one of their vendors. Now I may not know a lot about engines, but it seems to me if they test drove this vehicle that they would have noticed that the car hadn't been fixed. I took it back after replacing the plug wires and coil a second time because the engine codes were still flashing after reset. He then called me within two hours and stated that it was fixed and I could come pick it up. I was frustrated by this point as my warranty was almost over so I asked him what he did. He stated that he cleaned the throttle body which I had done the week before. I then threatened litigation and they all of the sudden were ready to take the entire engine apart again and actually check it. Go figure. He had been pushing me off for months making me replace things multiple times, miss work, and claimed that it wasn't the engine only to find out it was. They said that they would have to keep the car for a week and a half since they had to wait for the parts which turned out to be two+ weeks. I finally got it back and it was running smooth for about the first day, and then it started shaking. By the second day I was going up a hill and I heard a loud metal pop followed by my engine light coming on with the 2 cylinders misfiring again. I went back to them and they had finally run me out of my warranty period and said that it absolutely wasn't the engine and that they would not look at it under warranty again. I would not recommend anyone take their car to this hack shop. Thomas and his staff have the absolute worst customer service skills, and on top of that, they cant fix a car as far as they could throw one. Luckily, about half way through this ordeal, I had the sense enough to start recording my phone calls and all interactions with them. At one point it can be heard him telling me that the only thing that could cause a misfire is the plugs, wires, or coil and nothing else. This is just blatant disrespect for me and my warranty and I have video taped them multiple times telling me that there was no way it could be the engine. Turns out, it is. That being said, I cannot wait to have my day in court and watch this man shell out more money in lawyer fees and court costs not to mention the secondary repairs that I have had to make because of his screw-ups. I really hope no one makes the same mistake I did and go to this shop. Their BBB rating is an F, too bad I found out too late.
