There is nothing like this place. Such a GEM! Amazing finds and fair prices; I always find something when I come to Hakaar’s. Lauren and Vinnie are so personable and ridiculously knowledgeable of their treasures. It’s a must go if you’re into curated vintage and antique home goods, furniture and clothing.
The male owner was very rude about a return because the top of the disco ball (that was $50) broke the same day it was bought before it was even hung up. They exchanged it, but then told my friend who was carrying it (while we continued looking) that she should hold it differently “if you’re so concerned with it breaking maybe you should hold it from the bottom” It’s literally supposed to hang from the ceiling, so it just seemed like he was looking for an excuse since the first one broke. He was very condescending for no reason. It was just upsetting since we have bought so many things from them, and he was rude over one small issue. Their stuff is cute, but not cute enough to be talked down to about.

Absolutely love this store! They have such a good collection of vintage items! Everything is tastefully curated/displayed and is so much fun to explore. They sell my absolute favorite candles that smell sooooo good, with a really cool music touch to them. The owner has always been so kind and welcoming. My gf and I love shopping here!
I always find the cutest vintage pieces here and the atmosphere is always kind and welcoming. If you need a great place to find some beautiful pieces or pick up a lovely candle this is the spot.
Lovely shop. Great diversity, prices, and wonderful owner. Quickly fell in love with the vibes here. I would absolutely come here quite a bit if I lived in Missouri, but will make sure to walk in each time I visit the state again since it easily became my favorite shop on the street.

This store is so much fun! Lots of great items. And the service is outstanding. The owners are incredibly helpful. I had to plan for the pick-up of my item and the owners were great about communicating and being flexible on pick-up. They were very helpful throughout. One of the owners even came to the shop the day of my pick-up to carry my item (which was very heavy) to the car. Truly a great experience.
Every time i have come into this shop I find something new and cool. I'll be honest, I home with something every visit, but i do share what I've found and try to send people their way. The owners are great people and knowledgeable about all the items they carry. They are always on the lookout for something cool and in great condition to replace what gets sold!
I used to work next door to this amazing store and fell in love with the vibe, and the owners! They are awesome people, super sweet and friendly with great service. They sell some of the most beautiful mid century modern furniture I’ve ever seen, with other really fun unique vintage Knick knacks/dishwater/collectibles. They always have the store set up in a beautiful artistic flow that makes coming in an experience Instead of just a shopping trip. Highly recommend if you are into eclectic collectibles and unique gently used furniture. I know they go through an extensive process to source most of their items and spend time cleaning them up to sell. They put a lot of hard work into their store and are a great C-Street staple. My husband and I even did a fun 70’s vibe photoshoot in the store (with permission of the owners of course) Go check them out! 10/10
Love this cute shop! You're sure to find something amazing everytime you go in, at any price range.The products are carefully curated, no wading through junk. I got a great deal on a vintage dress, but the decor here is the real star. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable. As a lover of vintage, I'm happy to have this little golden nugget in town. I seriously love this store! The owners are so incredibly friendly, helpful, inclusive, and gracious! Their stuff is wicked cool, their prices are totally rad, and their service is unbeatable. Hakaars is one of our favorite stores on Commercial Street and in Springfield for that matter. The vibe is always chill. Great selection of unique retro finds. It is our go to store for finding fair priced mid-century modern items. We always leave the store with something fun and unique to add to our home.

Love this store and everything in it is amazingly chosen and collected with the utmost care and keen eye for groovy things. Step into history as you walk through this small but well-stocked shop. The owners do such a fabulous job staging and are friendly and always happy to help. Looking for something one-of-a-kind and super cool, look no further.

Neat décor, but fairly pricy, the store was severely over cramped and cluttered. I would likely return if the lady behind the counter wasn't so rude.
I am editing this review in response to the lady behind the counters claim:
1. Your store is completely over packed. I've worked at and managed multiple different locations in my life, plus I have a handicapped mother in a wheelchair. I can almost guarantee your store was not set to fire code unless you get some sort of exception for being on C street, you might want to check that out soon before arguing with a bad review online.
2. You are, by definition, a Junk Store. You have used items in varying conditions for whatever prices you decide to put on them.
3.Your claim that I wasn't shopping isn't true, I just don't want to spend almost 200 dollars on a box with an owl in chipped paint on the front.
4. We were walking up and down C street for the St. Patricks day event they were holding. We sat in your store, as you say, on chairs without "Do not sit" stamps, for exactly 3 minutes. I know the time because I was in fact playing a game that had a timer on it.
5. There were exactly 3 people in your store the entire time we were there, and not a single one came anywhere near us. Also, the chairs were located under a shelving unit where people couldn't walk anyway.
6. Again, you used the term "For hours" when we were seated for 3 minutes to take a small break from walking. I can understand not wanting us to be there, but you didn't have to be nasty about it. I actually intended to try and find something to purchase from your owls that may have been a bit cheaper than the things I looked at, but you were so rude I just left.
As you stated, the furniture did not say do not sit, and no one was around. I thought maybe you were just having a bad day since C street was so busy with their St. Patricks day event and no one was going into your tiny cramped store that is almost certainly breaking code, but I can tell by your reply you are the kind of person who is just looking for a chance to get at someone. After your response and truly looking at the situation from every angle, I do think this warrants a 1 star instead of a 2. And remember, ma'am, If you have ever taken a business class in your life, the goal of a business is to get and keep customers. When a customer is upset you are looking to recoup that customer with kind words or an explanation or apology, because one average upset customer is 6 customers lost.
The only thing more lovely than the items is the owner. You can tell that a lot of care goes into this shop. Things are very fairly priced and the owners have a great eye for quality, furniture pieces especially. You can tell they don’t sell things they wouldn’t buy, and value what they have.
I was blown away by the incredible service the owners provided. We purchased a gorgeous dining room table but we were unable to take it with us that day. They worked with us to find a time when we could pick it up and even helped us carry it out. The table is in perfect condition and we couldn’t be happier with our purchase. Their shop has so many fun nicknacks and other beautiful furniture pieces. I highly recommend checking them out!
LOVE this place. I went in yesterday and had the most enjoyable experience. The sweet lady working (I wish I would of gotten her name) was one of the most friendly and welcoming people I’ve ever met. I bought a coffee table, a disco ball, and a few other amazing finds. I can’t wait to go back! I couldn’t recommend this place more.
The selection of treasures is vast and exciting every time. The staff are not people I know, but somehow feel like family. I love this place. It's my favorite store in Springfield and one of my favorite stores anywhere.
I wish I could give this place ten stars!!! Vintage heaven!!! You can tell the owners are extremely passionate about the items they’re bringing in and the shop seems to have a steady flow of new things showing up in store. Super great prices and diverse, authentic pieces— there’s really something for everyone here. We will definitely be back!
This is literally the coolest shop around! Honestly I've lived, worked, studied all over the world and U.S. and I've managed to find some of my most killer stuffs here. And a plus the couple who own it work with you on price and finding sweet artifacts! Super fun!
I almost never give 5 stars, but I feel the owner of this shop goes above and beyond! I know her by name, and we chat each time I'm there. Her curation skills are impeccable, and the style here is unique to this place. You won't find any Pinterest inspired "pieces" here (think mid century original pieces painted pastel colors), only authentic items with fun vibes- large selection of reasonably priced vintage Pyrex, space/nuclear age dishes, and once I found an Ozark Airlines wall clock. The woman who owns the place is fantastic, I go there partly to see her! She treats her customers like friends, no the "business owner and customer" stuffy model. There's also a rewards program! Ask about it when you go.
