Was out running errands, after one stop, got in truck turned the key, and nothing. Had truck towed to Ricks. After a couple days they fixed the problem. Very happy.

Rick is a very experienced auto shop. Large enough to have resident experts in all of your cars ailments Eric was very helpful, honest. They don’t push you to repair every single thing but help you prioritize what needs to be fixed first

As a woman, it’s usually the same old story everywhere you go. I was referred to this shop by a good friend of mine. I was pleasantly surprised at how everyone within this shop went above and beyond to help me both get my car repaired, but were very kind through the entire process. I didn’t feel like anyone was mansplaining or trying to take advantage of me. And that is priceless. I won’t anywhere else in town. Thank you for making my car safe for my girls and I.

In my experience, Rick's is always professional and does quality work. Starting with a maintenance inspection, they found brakes that needed service. Work was completed on schedule.
Feb 25, 2026 -
Apt was on time, everyone was friendly and cost is comparable. We discussed plans for tire replacements and options to plan for. Been going to Ricks for 20 plus years. Great to see familiar faces!

Had a differential leak on my RAV4 and Terry went above and beyond working to solve the issue for me. I appreciate the hard work and for letting me borrow a car while the repair was being done. Great place, friendly staff. The pickup and drop off service is great as well

I have been taking my vehicles to them for over 25 years, and they always deliver excellent quality service with a smile at reasonable prices. I do not take my car anywhere else but Rick’s. They always fully explain what to expect in the future and provide written estimates. If you’re looking for honest and diligent mechanics, then Rick’s Automotive is the best in Springfield.

My wife and I were in Springfield and experienced a noise coming from the front end of our 2017 Ford Escape. I pulled over and looked under the car. The air dam assembly was loose and hanging down. We live in Bolivar and knew it would not stay on traveling too far. It was 5:00 p.m. and knew the unlikely availability of a repair shop being open. We stopped at Rick's and I talked to Ian. He looked for a tech but ended up coming out with some tools to do it himself. He zip-tied the assembly up temporarily so we could get home. He did not accept payment and wished us a good trip home. We really appreciate what he did for us and will keep them in mind for any automotive repair in the future. Thanks Ian and Rick's Automotive!

I went to this shop to have the issue with my break pedal repaired. The first thing they told me was that I needed new front breaks and rotors along with the calipers and hoses. Well that was $1300 for them and my issue was not fixed. When I told them that it was not fixed they looked it over again and realized that this was a known issue with my car and fixed it. I explained and argued the issue that their motto/slogan is to get it right the first time and I should not be responsible for paying for the service to fix the problem when they didn’t get it right the first time. They led me to believe that I needed to pay just a portion and I was willing to do that. However, here I am reviewing my old records from them and they actually didn’t even cut me a break at all. I still paid full price for everything they did and to be honest my parts didn’t even look brand new at all. I just got the rear calipers replaced on my car and they look new! However I went to a better shop. Economy Tire in Ozark. I can’t believe the lies I was told to me at Ricks! Oh and economy tire was a FRACTION of the price for the same work. Do not go to Ricks!!
Feb 12, 2026 -
Terry was the supervisor on the job and Elliot was the tech who did the work. My van was done in a timely manner and the prices were actually pretty reasonable. Thank you guys for getting it done for us!

I can’t recommend Rich’s Auto Collision enough. A logging truck kicked up a rock that smashed my mirror housing, and although it was a small repair to scale, they treated it with top tier priority. They used original Toyota parts and had the install finished in just 25 minutes. What really blew me away was the admin staff. I was dealing with a very difficult third party insurance company, which was becoming quite overwhelming. The team at Rich’s stepped right in, walked me through the entire process, and completed all the necessary paperwork on my behalf. It is rare to find a shop that combines high quality technical work with such helpful, compassionate customer service. If you're in Campbell River, go to Rich’s they truly go above and beyond for their customers!

We have spent close to 20k with ricks automotive only to recieve the poorest customer service and service in all of springfield. This goes all the way back to the beginning of last year when addressing an oil leak, we told them the crank shift filter has never been changed and when they have never been changed it wpuld force oil out of various places in the motor, we wanted it changed and all the gaskets and and rubber seals fixed to stop the leaking and they did none of that, they told us we had two leaky injectors and they said that would fix the leak. Well it didn't fix the leak and by the end of the year the truck was leaking oil worse and worse but we own a roofing business and it took us some time to get it back in. End of the year we had a loud tick under the hood so we brought it in, it was a bad injector, they told us it would be $1300 to repair it and they were supposed to address the oil leak, they told us they wouldnt do anything to fix the injector or oil leak they were paid to fix at the beginning of the year unless we paid around $6,000.00 to do everything at once and they also said they weren't going to fix the injector I mentioned before unless we paid the 6k to fix it all at once so we were forced to do the extremely expensive repairs and we finally got our crank case filter done, they did offer us a $900 credit for the ongoing issue we dumped money in to that was never fixed. They nickled and dimed us for a year and got 20k out of us, we recently had a code pop up p207f and brought our truck back in, it's a def system issue and ricks has had it two weeks, they havent told us a single thing they have done to diagnose it, they just keep calling to say they don't know what's wrong with it, their invoice for diagnostics says the same thing, doesn't state any test or anything they did to find the issue yet somehow they are charging us $80 for diagnostic, they also lied and said they drove the truck 20 miles to listen to the loud humming that began from the last repairs but I'll bet our milage says different when we pick the truck up because we know what the mileage was when we dropped it off. But regardless of that why would you drive a truck 20 miles with a serious code on it, are you trying to make it worse? You can hear the humming the most when it's idling, it doesn't need driven to hear the noise but they keep saying they dont hear the noise, but ill bet the next mechanic its going to today will hear the noise and i bet its related to the previous repairs. They also killed our batteries that are brand new, the batteries are still under warranty and they could have at least made that right by walking over to O'Reilly and exchanging the batteries under our warranty and putting them in but now my husband is going to have to do it and he injured himself 3 days ago and possibly has a hernia. Don't believe for a second this establishment is trust and customer oriented because they have done many things to make us scratch our heads over the past year, I'm glad to announce they lost a good customer, with plenty of business to offer them but they have to move weird every time we deal with them. The review below me is very credible, the guy with the f-150 so don't let ricks spin a different narrative because we have had a similar experience to him and his review is valid %1,000.

I have used Rick's for several years now and have been treated fairly and honestly. I have never felt that I was being lied to about the work needed on my Jeep or my Dodge Ram. I have been lied to by other shops so being treated honestly is important to me. They don't talked down to me and explain what is going on in layman's terms. I will continue to use Rick's for all my mechanical needs.

Rick’s Automotive is a top notch repair shop. Our business started using them last year after constant frustrations, mediocre repairs, and sharp pricing increases with the local dealerships. Their staff and thorough communication is amazing. They keep our fleet up and running with a super fast turn around. I highly recommend you try them first.

I have been using Rick's Automotive for a few years now. They have always treated me right, been super patient with all my request, and they will continue to be my choice. I never have to worry about their work. Their prices are reasonable and they are much faster than the dealership. Eric is the tech I normally work with. It's important that I have the same tech. Other then the daily driver I am a firm believer in your tech being the second most knowledgeable person about your car. Customer service is phenomenal. It's also a clean shop. It's one of the few shops I don't get a wave of burnt oil, old grease, and spilled gasoline. I love the smell but it can be overwhelming to some. Also top notch job making such a dirty job look so clean.

Two days before Christmas while running errands in Springfield, my truck starting bucking at about 20 mph and a transmission code came on. I was 2 1/2 hours from home and 2 hours from my usual mechanic. He recommended I have Rick’s check it out, as it might not be safe to drive. No surprise, Rick’s was very busy and it was mid afternoon. Despite that they did a quick read of the code and the mechanic took it around the block to check out the bucking. They said I should be ok to drive it to my mechanic, and charged me nothing for taking 15 minutes to look at it. Thank you! I made it to my mechanic.

I’m just completing my most recent interaction with Rick’s Automotive. Their customer service team was very attentive, authentic, and approachable. I interacted specifically with Terry and Ian And I experienced all of those things, and I listened to other colleagues, engaged with other customers, and it was exactly the same level of care and concern. I am honored to give them my highest recommendation, and I remain to be a delighted customer. Terry Hoggard

I took my truck here prior to a trip for Thanksgiving weekend. That trip did not happen because of Ricks. I explained I have a cam shift position sensor code. Super common on a f-150 of this year. I dont want to pull the valve cover myself and replace as i am very busy. I travel a lot for work so the plan was I would leave it with them and when flying back I would pick up the truck and go on this family trip. The sales guy called several times with updates and that is when i got extremely suspicious; They suggested turbo replacements because an underboost code, in which i explained this was a normal code when a cam shaft position sensor code was present. Replace the cam shaft position sensor and that code would go away. Also, both boosters produced 20psi, sounded perfect, and under warranty (i replaced them with OEM myself along with exhaust manifolds). Why is an "experienced" mechanic suggesting this? Big red flags at this point. I flew back home and picked up the truck. I asked them if they did a test drive and said yes, 12 mile test drive. Great I thought and loaded up my 2 year old son in his car seat and proceeded home. I noticed some burning oil smell and didnt think much of it as pulling the valve covers can get oil outside the engine and burning off some residualoil is common. As soon as I got home smoke was barrelling out from the hood. The valve cover was pouring oil directly onto the turbo exhaust (see attached photos), which is the #1 cause for these trucks to catch on fire (google it). I called ricks and they said another shop previously caused my issue and a head replacement would be needed. The previous shop repairs in that area was 40k miles ago with no issues. Im thinking 12 mile test drive? No issues? IMPOSSIBLE! I canceled my Thanksgiving plans, pulled the valve cover and found the issues they caused. I was able to fix it very easily, but removing and reinstalling these valve covers takes time. Conclusion: Ricks is mailing me a $300 check for my trouble after a $1,200 bill. I am happy to accept this as i will forgoe the full amount and not have to sign anything and write this to warn others. My other option was to take them to small claims court as I have all the videos to support my claim. They lied about the test drive, they lied about what the truck needed, and they put me and my child into a potential death trap. What if i didnt know anything about vehicles? Would i be 4 or 5k in the hole with still a broken vehicle? Luckily I ran my own shop and I am extremely mechanically inclined. Not everyone has that upper hand. Please, I beg you dont get taken by Ricks Automotive. Also the $300 "diagnostic" charge is just ridiculous. -response to Ricks response of my review: how is that my truck runs perfectly now that I have fixed this massive oil leak when absolutely nothing was done that you guys suggested? This includes the turbos, wiring and all. Do you want me to take you on a test drive in it? I only posted a small part of what you did incorrectly. I can post the full videos on YouTube and attach a link if that is better for you. If your stance is you can blame a previous mechanic for anything, then why not just decline work on an older vehicle? You dont want to take any liability but happy to take money and blame others.

Had my compressor lock up and needing replacement, Ryan my service advisor was an absolute legend and a true gentleman. Was honest and personal while maintaining a high level or respect and professionalism. Everyone who touched my car treated it as if it was their own, the gentleman who did the compressor unfortunately had to remove my dash which has a 3 screen panel and tons of trim. Once I got it back there was absolutely no way to tell the dash had been taken apart, no cracks or popping nor any trim/plastics popping out of place, this gentleman is skilled and very good with meticulous and tedious work and I have great respect for that. Took it back a couple weeks later to potentially get my motor mounts replaced as well due to popping noises and vibration, they had the car for two days and we talked about prices and different parts. We were having a hard time figuring out what the best option was going to be when the shop foreman Eddie decided to take a couple parts off to get a closer look at one mount in particular and found a bolt that had been lodged in there, effectively causing all my problems. This company could’ve went ahead and not told me about the bolt and I would’ve never had been the wiser about it, however these folks hold themselves to a higher standard than most and let me know what they had found and that my car was good to go at NO ADDITIONAL COST. Two days of work at no additional cost, when they could’ve made an easy $2,000. That’s true integrity and workmanship. I will recommend this company to my whole family including the dog and to anyone I know with car problems. Thank you guys very much

Back on Wednesday July 9th, 2025 our Global Speedway Tours group from Australia pulled into Rick's Automotive workshop on South Campbell Avenue. This was just after the Springfield, Missouri Mercedes dealership advised they won’t provide service on a rented Mercedes Sprinter van. Especially one which has the dreaded orange engine diagnostic light continually staying on. Not an unusual problem for Sprinters apparently. It was probably a defective sensor somewhere, but you never know. We were on a very tight itinerary, delicately planned across 39 nights of racing, 15 states and 48 nights of pre-paid hotel rooms. We had a three hour window of opportunity to get the orange light to disappear. I reckon we were tapped on the shoulder by the good fairy that day at Rick’s Automotive because they have Micah as their Service Manager. The Australian accent always works in times like these and having explained both the problem and the time dilemma we faced, Micah took the matter into his own hands. Besides he liked Australians and his wife’s stepsister was from the land downunder. Needless to say, with such a busy place like Rick’s, assistance like we wanted required a booking well in advance. Not some fly in people from another country who want it done yesterday. Well Micah couldn’t achieve doing it yesterday, but he did get his best man on the Mercedes diagnostic equipment to immediately undertake testing of all the codes these modern machines have. The result was a certainty that there were no issues, except for the fact that the module itself was more than likely faulty. They reset everything and the light had been extinguished. We were happy, the rental company will be happy because the charge was extremely reasonable and so were the 10 occupants of the bus who would see their race tonight in Sweet Springs. But Micah still had his doubts that it wouldn’t not fail again. And he was right on the money when the next day we were driving through Kansas City and the light came on again. Micah was contacted and once more he went out of his way to call around Mercedes Dealers in Kansas City to see if they could replace the diagnostic system. “Yes they could Peter, but not for a week”, was the response he conveyed by phone to me. Depressed, we then turned to the Rental Company for a replacement vehicle. And that I must say is a whole new story to tell through Google one day …… But right now, I want to publicly thank Micah and Rick’s Automotive for service “over and above” what we could have reasonably expected on that day back in July ‘25.

Rick's Automotive is GREAT! The service is great, the repairs are great. The overall experience reminds me of those old school auto shops that were honest and cared about people. They have done several repairs for me and each one was completed in a timely manner with NO issues of any kind. I have never had to come back about any work they did. They know what they are doing. I always recommend Rick's to my friends. One item that really stands out to me is the courtesy rides back to your home if you need to drop a vehicle off, and then picking you up to come get the vehicle. Like I said, the service and professionalism at Rick's is second to none. I have had a couple of conversations in the lobby with people that had other shops mess things up and then they came to Rick's and everything was figured out and fixed with no problem. If you want a GREAT shop you can trust to do it right, and you want to be treated like a friend, then go to Rick's.

Had the 100,000 mile warranty update for Nissan. All repairs were done in a professional manner and we’re completed in only one day. Very satisfied with the service and will return.

Terry was incredibly kind, helpful, and thorough. He took great care of my daughter’s car while she’s away at school and made sure I was kept in the loop the entire time. As a parent, it gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in good hands. I’m so grateful for the honest communication and professional service. Highly recommend this shop!

I thought I would change my own differential fluid and transfer case fluid so bought the materials, climbed under the car and decided it wasn't worth the effort. Called Rick's and they said they would do it, using my fluid I had already bought, for $175.50. Took it in at 8, had it back by 1 and lo and behold it was only $162.00. I've lived in Springfield for 50 years and outlasted several honest mechanics. Glad to have found a new one.

Rick’s has been the most amazing for us! Keeps us on the road touring all year long! Micah and our usual point of contact and is the literal best. ? If we ever have issues while out on the road Rick’s is always there to give us advice and connect us to the right people and places. We LOVE Rick’s Automotive!!!!

I have finally found my safe place!! I learned the hard way that not all cities are created equal. I moved from a big city with a Mini & Volkswagen and it’s been HELL!! I couldn’t even get a SIMPLE oil change. Until I found Ricks. They are the only place in town that could change my battery and reprogram my system. They also did an oil change on my mini and the best part is they got me in the very next day, and the prices were Extremely reasonable. Not to mention they do a military discount. Soon as you walk in they greet you, there is coffee, tea and lounges with little tables while you wait. They even have an area for the little ones. They fixed my car right up and even helped my put my windshield blades on. They are THE BEST!!! Update…. Had to come here a second time and was quoted less than their competitors then when service was all done they ended up charging even less because it was a simple fix. They could have said more and I would have thought it was accurate so once again they took care of me. As someone who knows nothing about cars I’m always very untrusting of mechanics. But they make it easy to trust
