Got my daughter some name brand tops for very cheap. A very good amount of food was either barely past the best by date or not even expired yet. Great prices and nice workers. We will return!

I was out killing time and decided to stop in and look around, I grabbed a basket and started to shop. Several works seen me walk in with my NORMAL size purse and even walked past me down aisles as I shopped. I finally grabbed what I wanted, checked out and after I paid the cashier told me I wasn't aloud to bring my purse inside next time and that it needed to be left inside my trunk or behind the registers. Meanwhile other customers had purses and not a word ?♀️ I will not leave my purse with my belongings in my car let alone behind a register with strangers in a store because of their own theft issues.. I don't plan to shop here again, I will spend the few extra dollars elsewhere where my NORMAL sized purse isn't a issue.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great selections , just like a grocery store.

Check the prices, as the store appears to be overcharging for food that is nearing its expiration date.

Slightly out of date product. But still good enough for me. Nice lady at counter. Sometimes really good deals.

A good balance of regular staples and unique one-off items. Nice prices. The store is well kept and the bathrooms have always been clean. Staff is friendly!

This place is awesome! Great prices and the employees are very friendly. If you want to save money on food, this is the place to go to.

Went at the recommendation of a friend. Place was clean and seemed to have some ok deals on snacks. Biggest issue was I tried to bring in reusable bags. In the middle of shopping an employee came up to me and rudely said there were signs saying you could not have large bags with you while shopping. The employee said she would have to take them up front at a register I could get them later. Weird but OK. Then while I was checking out I tried to get my reusable bags back and the cashier didn't comprehend anything after repeatedly explaining that my bags were behind her and I needed them back. This might be a one off incident but I am definitely going back. Especially for the 10% -15% I might have saved there when I only got $15 of pickles and pasta sauce.

I'm never shopping at Greene County Freight ever again after today, not that I shop there much anyway. I was with a friend and I was waiting for her to get out of the bathroom so I started looking at their candy and went and checked out then after I bought it I went to sit down on the bench and after a few mins I saw my friend so I got up and took my bag that had my candy I bought in it and sat it in the cart and after a few seconds one of the workers came up and said that they don't allow bags back into the store and I told her it was my stuff I paid for but apparently it's "policy" so she took it to register 3 and left it for me to pick up after my friend and I were done shopping. Apparently, according to my friend and I do believe her, she kept getting dirty looks from the employee who took my bag to register 3. So I eventually went to register 3 and got my stuff and just sat back down on the bench. I'll be honest, when I went to get my bag, I was kinda rude, but when I get treated like I did something wrong when I didn't, I'm gonna be a little rude. And if they don't allow their own shopping bags to be carried around their store, then they need to change that sign to include that. I never left the store in the first place, so her saying "we don't allow bags back into the store" when I never left the store is very stupid. And if it's a thing of not being able to carry it through the store regardless of whether I left or not, then just say that, and also, y'all need to make better signs.

April 12,2025 Wide varied variety of deeply discounted items from food, household wares, beauty products, clothing, baby , vitamins, greeting cards. You just never know what will come in. Don’t drive by …stop in, I’m glad I did. I visit every time I’m in town.

Variety changes daily. Neat and very clean. Unusual food items, frozen and packaged. Name brand products and discontinued as well.

They always have a variety of items. Have added more cleaning supplies and more freezer/cooler space. Cheaper than regular stores, expired groceries can help you save some money.

We come here just about every week. Not every deal is the best, but the deals that are good are really good. You have to make sure that you are checking the expiration dates and knowing that some of the food might not be fresh, but that is part of the risk you take. The workers are also so nice. One time, when the workers saw that I was trying to carry my baby and my groceries out to my car, they came and helped me carry my groceries. Going there is one of the highlights of my week!

Many products are expired, but I'm not complaining. I love the weird mix of snacks. And good prices on coffee and cereal. Check it out

You can find some bargains, but a lot of their food prices are way too high for expired items. They do have a large selection, and the store is clean and organized. The staff is exceptionally nice. I go about 3-4 times a year.

Pretty cool place with different things like clothes, shoes, make up, skin care, hair care but I won't be buying candy bars from there again because both of the reeces I got were expired, one expired in March and one expired in May so I wasted my money. Check dates before selling!

On 9-25-24 we bought 4 boxes of the Special K with Red Berries cereal ( dated Oct 24, 2023) and I- box of the Special K cereal with Almonds, along with other snack items from this store. After arriving home, I opened a box of the Special K Red Berries cereal and I started eating out of the box. I noticed something crawling on the inside of the bag, so I stopped eating the cereal immediately and took the bag out of the box. I saw numerous live bugs crawling around at the bottom of the cereal bag. I closed the bag/box of cereal, placed it in the trunk of my car ( so my kitchen would not be contaminated by any bugs that may have been on/in the box) and I wrote an email to the store, warning them about what had happened ( the store was closed by then). On 9-26-24 I called the store in the morning and spoke with 2 ladies. One lady said she was a manager at the store. After telling both ladies about what had happened they said that they would return my money for the cereal, but I would have to bring the cereal and the receipts back to the store to get a refund. I told the manager that I lived 50 miles away from the store and I asked if she could just send the refund for the cereal by check in the mail or at least pay for the gas money if I drove back to the store. She said they would not pay for the gas money and they would not send the refund by mail. Also, I told the manager the date on the boxes of Special K cereal and I said that they should remove those boxes of cereal so other customers won't have the same thing happen to them. The manager said that they had already opened a few boxes of the cereal ( she did not specify if it was from the date I specifically mentioned) and that they did not find anything wrong, so they were not going to take them off of their shelves. I told the manager that I would send pictures of anything she wanted ( cereal boxes with the Oct 24, 24 date, the live bugs inside the cereal bags, the receipts from 9-25-24, etc.), but she said they would not mail a refund to me for the cereal and they would not take the cereal boxes off of their shelves and they would not reimburse me for the gas money if I went back to their store for a refund. I have worked for other food stores (Schnucks, Shop N Save, Dierbergs) in the past. Any customer complaints regarding food safety were taken seriously and addressed immediately. In this case, I do not think my complaint was taken seriously or addressed in a fair way by Greene County Freight & Food sales. Also, I do not believe that the manager I spoke with on 9-26-24, at any time, apologized for what had happened. I understand that businesses have to look out for people, who want to cheat them somehow, but I offered to submit photos of anything they wanted and I have all the receipts for our purchases. Our total for the contaminated cereal we bought was $7.50 ( 5 boxes) minus a 10% senior discount, so $6.75+whatever tax was on that. It may not seem like a big deal to some people, but to those of us on a very tight budget, it is. Because I did not want any other customers, who shop at this store, to possibly find bugs in their cereal, I contacted the Greene county health dept. regarding this issue.

Why do your employees have to go start taking apart the crates of soda customers are putting together to buy? I literally stepped a foot away to put a case in my cart went back to finish the other, and your employee started disorganizing what I was putting together. It's not like I make a mess when I get soda, I organize everything right back when I'm done so you do not have to. I buy these drinks for sobriety programs, and 3 different households, but how can I get what I need if your employees do this everytime. When I said something about this to them they were hateful and said it is their job. It is not their job to disorganize what a customer is putting together to buy, I'm not coming to your store again. I am not an entitled person but the fact that this happens every single time I come is ridiculous and is extremely annoying. I have a busy schedule and I don't have time to keep putting back together what your employees are taking apart that I'm trying to buy.

Great selection and some really unique items I never would have thought to buy. Great selection of kcups for really cheap and love their chips and candy selection. They do carry household goods and even got a 10 ft charging cord for $4 that works better then any of the ones I've bought at big box stores. Staff are always amazing and helpful. They will go above and beyond for their customers every time

Not a great place to buy milk, but tons of good deals if you’re shopping on a budget. One issue I have is, they often don’t have items I am looking for. They didn’t have baking soda or baking powder one time, I even asked the staff. It’s great to go see what they have and get a good deal, but you can’t make a list and shop here exclusively. The milk is over priced because they only have name brand. The good deals sell out quickly. I do love the items in the front. They actually have good deals on clothes, household items, and charcoal. But it’s random what you will find.

This place is as you would expect, it has a wide variety of items that you are sure to find something you like. I would advise caution when buying anything edible, as you need to make sure they are not too expired. I have found things that are over a year expired. I do find a lot of things that are not expired too, so at the price they sell them, it's a win win. Staff is really friendly, parking is very accessible.

I'm glad I checked this store out! I scored some really good deals on groceries. ? I've got a big family to feed and shopping at discount stores helps a lot. The prices on snacks, baking supplies, and candy are some of the best around. I would have to compare frozen meat prices to be sure, but I think they were pretty cheap too. They had a lot of delicious looking frozen pies for cheap too, but I'm trying to be healthy so I didn't buy any. What surprised me was the non-food discount items. Good prices on stuff for the house, kids toys, etc. This is a good store! Everyone was really friendly too, so I'm very happy I stopped in to check it out!
