I brought my 2016 Ram 1500 diesel to Flower Hill Automotive due to an issue with the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). The dashboard displayed an error message indicating that the DPF was full and could not regenerate. After paying nearly $300 for diagnostics at a local shop, I was told that the DPF and all the exhaust temperature sensors needed to be completely replaced—at a quoted subtotal of over $5,000. Needless to say, I was very upset. Seeking a second opinion—though without much hope—I visited Flower Hill Automotive and spoke with Matt. He reassured me that regeneration failures can sometimes be caused by inconsistent readings from the exhaust temperature sensors, rather than a faulty DPF. He proposed testing the sensors first. Upon testing, he discovered a clear imbalance: two sensors were reading 32°C, while the third showed 45°C. After replacing the faulty sensor, the DPF resumed normal regeneration. The diagnostic process was labor-intensive and took a couple of days, during which Matt called me daily to provide updates. The total cost of the repair—including diagnostics, sensor replacement, and labor—was just a fraction of what the first shop quoted. My truck is now running perfectly. Based on this experience, I wholeheartedly recommend Flower Hill Automotive for any car-related issues.

I used to live right across from Flower Hill Automotive, but I’ve moved to VA and I still drive all the way to MD for them to work on my car. They are extremely honest; they do good work and I know I can trust them. Especially as someone that does not understand cars, I know and can go there, and they will make sure I’m safe and that my car is getting all the proper care it needs. I’ve had bad experiences before, with mechanics saying that my car was about to catch on fire (when it was just fine), so I just drive to MD because I don’t want to deal with dishonest people. If you are a female/male that is not interested on learning about car mechanics I recommend that you go there, as you won’t have to worry about anything, just drop your car off and have a nice day ?

The owner Matt is a great man. He's honest, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I needed a new engine and he went to great pains to find it. In addition he made sure he found the best used motor that was available. He kept me informed of the status throughout the whole process. I really appreciate that. His mechanic Jon is top notch! Very through and dedicated to perfection in his work. Everyone was professional and easy to deal with.

There's nothing bad I can say about this shop! Hands down, it has been the best experience I've had at an automotive shop in a very long time. I am prepping my vehicle for a cross-country trip and wanted to go somewhere other than Ford knowing that dealership's tend to charge you 30% more than what other places will charge, along with not having good experiences with Ford. I've had cars taken in to many shops across the country and I've never had this level of professionalism and professional knowledge. They're honest and straight to the point with what's wrong with the vehicle and they give you different options with fixing said issues. There were times where I couldn't pick up my car due to me working after hours, no problem, they found a way to help me out that was super convenient for me. At work and can't stop by the shop to pay for their work on your car, no problem with that either, they've got other ways for you to pay for the maintenance whether you can stop by during business hours or not. You definitely get a family feeling when you take your vehicle here and they're going to treat you right. Brent at the front desk, is super friendly and is adament about making sure you know what the situation is on your vehicle. 5 stars all around highly recommend. P.S. they offer you a military discount.

Excellent and trustworthy mechanics. Brent will call and discuss options for responsible spending on maintenance and repairs, accounting for age of vehicle and the owner's plans for it, not gouge the customer. A rarity now, they can also weld and repair, not just exchange parts.

The best place for getting your car repaired with great consideration for the customer. I trust them to always to do the correct repair. Never had a problem with the quality of their work.

Our prior mechanics were not providing the service levels I was accustomed to, including my best friend and his Mercedes. My wife used Flower Hill Automotive prior to our marriage at the suggestion of the Acura dealership manager where he actually took his cars! I contacted them and being a gearhead my thoughts of what my trailblazer needed was correct. My one vehicle is running with 229k miles better than new. They are absolutely the finest certified technicians around, its like the old days. Their pricing is very good and the quality of work superb. My rubber shifter linkage bushing recently separated...unusual but they walked the tow truck driver through the whole process on my 4x4...they fixed the car and were their for me, far away from home in the middle of nowhere after being towed 46 miles they stayed late for me my wife got me an uber ride home while in ca on business....they are superb and treat you like family....I actually love these guys they are the way a business should run....its about you always. 10 out of 10.....The Jeep Grand Cherokee and my Challenger are theirs too. They are committed to you the customer...its called old fashioned real customer service. I call it being considerate. They are best in class. Matt, Manley and Nick thank you.

This is the only place I would take my cars for maintenance and repairs. This people are very honest and helpful. Very reliable mechanics and best prices in town. Matt the owner was very polite and helpful as well as the front desk guy. They even give you a ride home if you needed it.

names Mike These guys saved me i needed something simple yet couldnt find a place to do the work i needed . all i needed was an alignment after i lifted my jeep . they did it for me . my steering wheel is slightly crooked it was strait when i left there shop so not sure what happend there but i dont think its at fault of flower hill.. it rides much better in the short time ive drivin it sense i picked it up oh 15 min ago . they told me there concerns on getting the sensors on the wheels with out damaging as they knew i had brand new tires and wheels. glad to report even though they warned it was possible for that to happen. they did zero damage that i can see . did the work quick. and i think for the first time in my life i was shocked at my bill in a good way VERY Reasonable on there pricing . highly recommend them i believe they now have a customer for life. and trust me people im very picky as i manage a business and have high standards.

I don't if he is the owner or manager, but every time I have a problem they fix it. I did tell them about a recent problem with my Camry and he was nice enough to print me all the paperwork to take it to Toyota unfortunately Toyota said it was an enhancement warranty and it expired.

Matt and his team are Honest, Friendly, Respectful. They never talk down to me or at me. Manley, Matt and the crew are the best. I've been taking my cars here for over 8 years and they are always honest (good luck finding that at a dealership), provide quality workmanship, and give you a fair price. We do all service here from oil changes (which btw are cheaper than that 30-min chain), tires, and regular mileage-based maintenance. The best part is that they are always willing to talk to you on the phone (or in person) about the repair so you know what you're going to get into. I bring my car, my wife's car, and even my parent's car here and will keep coming back!
