The worst MVA in MD. Workers DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THEIR JOB! If you are a daca/immigrant with EAD permit please do not go here They will treat you as if you as less of a human due to your status. They treated me differently because the “system” did not show my updated status… I got my work permit update 2/11/26. My appointment was 2/24/26 and the “system” was not updated to show that my work permit was updated. All they had to do was send a request and if they had refreshed the system it would show that it was clear. I made an appointment at 11:30 I was there at 11:25, by 11:45 they had sent out a request as to why it was not showing up in the system. By 11:47 it had already updated to show I was eligible but they didn’t care. They didn’t even try refreshing it. They closed the ticket and told me to make another appointment. They do not care for you or anyone! I tell you this because I spoke to customer service at 12:23 not even an hour after my appointment. This isn’t even Including time I spent with with the clerk) to ask if I can get assistance and there was a lady asking why we where waiting in line and I told her why … she left me talking by myself when I told her all they had to do was refresh the system. (I will tell you again … YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR JOB) I went to silver spring and they renewed my license right away. When DHS hasn’t updated their system (most of the time) they will respond with in seconds. All they have to do is refresh their system. Please DO NOT GO HERE if you are on a work visa, daca, anything that is not a citizen. They DO NOT care for you as a human and will treat you worse than an animal.

Went on a Saturday morning just after opening. Less than 10 minutes wait through the info desk line to take care of a drop off. Friendly service at the counter. Accomplished what I needed quickly and got a receipt confirming the drop off. Easy peasy.

For the most part their intensive with their work no Smiles on their faces except an African-American man wearing glasses in a champion hoodie with khaki pants on and sneakers was very professional definitely want to give him his Kudos he was on the information line I truly appreciate the information he gave me because no one else in the MVA could tell me how to pay a flag or E-ZPass totally absurd that you are hired as a state employee and don't know your job absolutely crazy how did anyone pass probation furthermore if you're going to give out an MVA flag please know how to tell us how to pay it don't you want your money didn't you say I owed it if you mailed it out to me absolutely absurd once again know your job if we're here and willing to pay why not allow me to pay. Or if no one is a warehouse to work things AI is a very nice system how about putting everything online so we can make the payment versus coming in to see you and you have no real information waste of time

I didn't go inside but the parking lot, I would give zero Stars if I could. It's the worst designed parking lot I've ever seen if you can't find a space because of all the stupid one ways they have everywhere you end up having to drive a half mile around a circle again to get back where you were. The parking lot here is a nightmare.

The driving instructors are aggressive, even snapped at my parent who was calm. This is the perfect place for your teen to take their drivers test if you secretly resent them and regret having them. Otherwise just go to Annapolis.

Today I had a mixed experience. After being given incorrect information regarding vehicle renewals. I was told I couldn't get same day appointments to see anyone. I am not even sure the folks, who seemed rather dismissive to my inquiries, knew the correct protocol for my questions. "Jazmine", in particular, was outright rude to me which did not deter me from being cheerful and thanking her for help. I hope that what ever incident in her life caused her distress in developing her people skills resolves itself. Perhaps seeking a different work situation where being on her feet and assisting the public in a confusing complex bureaucratic environment would better suit her. Although I am sure that all of the MVA employees who were "out on the floor" of the lobby working with the public are happy to be employed by the government. Considering that most government agencies are slashing their workforce, the MVA is an government entity that fortunately seems to be immune to this course of action. Fortunately, with some perseverance, I made it through all the misinformation, acronyms, windows, flags, paperwork and general confusion to complete all the business I had intended on completing. Despite being told by the aforementioned: "It can't be done. You'll have to make another appointment.." :) Never Give Up.. Never Surrender! I gave myself a star for that.

Please heed the warnings of others in the reviews and choose another location to get your registration done if possible. Although I made an appointment and was assigned to someone quickly after arriving, nothing else about the visit was fast, efficient or even remotely pleasant. The lady I got assigned to kept huffing and puffing over every question I answered and made it feel like I was inconveniencing her, at her job. She ended up making a mistake and made me pay for it by sending me back to wait while she helped other customers, called me back for two minutes and tried to send me back to sit and wait again with no estimated time of being seen again. Thankfully her manager gave some pushback and told the lady to not have me sit and wait again. This seems to be a trend for her because while she was working on me, another lady came up and asked her how much longer it’ll be because she needed to pick her child up from school and had already been waiting for awhile after being sent to sit and wait. It makes no sense. I understand wanting to help other customers but sending people with appointments to sit and wait an unknown amount of time while you serve other customers is not efficient at all. She did have to start the entire process over after making the mistake and was incredibly unprofessional by arguing with her manager in front of me (to the point that it was awkward to sit there) and also talking badly about previous customers she’s served to her coworker. I would 100% never recommend this place and wish I knew the lady’s name so I could put that in this review as well. Editing to add: She made no efforts to be clear about the cost of the registration and title as well as did not communicate that she was giving me a temp registration after overlooking my inspection that I clearly handed her, resulting in her having to redo the entire process.

Worst mva I have been too. They threw the paper work that I had back in my face. Told me the stuff I had was wrong and to leave. All because I had questions and I didn’t understand the process: this was on 12pm sat. They wanted to leave so they didn’t want to even help me understand the process on getting my daughter her learners.

First time being there, the employee's were actually really dismissive. They act like your question is a huge bother to them and want to get you out of their faces. Which just creates an even bigger stressing environment. Luckily, thats not the main thing I had to deal with. I was there for the drivers test and if you know exactly what you're doing, the test is actually pretty easy. The test is all about safety, especially on the road. You're timed on how long it takes you to reverse park and thats the first thing you do before going on the road. My instructor was really straight forward in informing me where to go and I didn't have any issues with them at all. Since the test is held at building B, the person at the counter who helped with all the paper work and taking the photo afterwards was great. He wasn't rude at all, very helpful, just trying to get through each person quickly but still being helpful. Incase it's your first time taking the test, you check in at building A and then you have to go back to building B and wait to be called. Once you take the test, if you passed, you go back in to take your picture and boom, you're license will be mailed to you within a week.

My son went to take his permit test today, the gentleman at the testing center was very professional and helpful. He was doing a wonderful job even with it being super busy. Kudos to him.( I can not remember his name) visited 1/3/2026 The MVA was pretty busy.

Fast moving service, but I wouldn’t just do what they say you need to get second opinion and research stuff…we had just got here and needed stuff for cars and one lady was gonna have me pay in the thousands because she was wrong and only wanted to get home 10 mins till closing. I left and came back next day after researching an got a more helpful person who said that I was correct and didn’t need what the pervious person wanted

Quick, 24hr 24/7 Registration and Tag Return, also can pay any fines or flags that are attached to that tag or vehicle or any tickets you may have not paid yet. And the kiosk has more options to choose from, duplicate titles, renewals, just pretty nice not to have to wait in line and look for my number on a screen or to be called. Smooth and fast process, recommend the 24hr kiosk over ever going to a daytime fully packed place. Thanks Maryland for spending some of our tax money on something that's actually worth to have as an option for all Marylanders, not just the Ritchie HWY Glen Burnie (Main MVA Office) Thanks.

I would like to give a warm thank you to all the MVA employees I have interacted with in the past few weeks for all their help in what should have been a fairly simple transaction. I purchased a brand new car in Pennsylvania back in October. A few weeks later I made an appointment with the MVA to get my tag and title sorted out. The MVA website has a list of items from the sale one needs to bring with them, and so I printed all this information out to share with the attendant. While all my documents were in order, the MVA had no record of my title. Credit to the attendant, she looked for it several different ways and was able to confirm they had not received it. We shared a laugh over how slow the dealership was being with this transaction, which was much appreciated. Was it frustrating I didn't get my tags? Sure, but that wasn't the fault of the MVA. Can't give out tags for a car that they had no information on, after all. I called the dealership to ask about the title and remind them they needed to send it. (Their financial guy had left and a new one had taken over so the man was playing catch up). I called the MVA a few days later and ask if they have my title again. Same answer, they did not. That was more than a little concerning as it had nearly been a month since the purchase of the vehicle at this point. Once again, credit to the person I spoke with. She was very helpful and understanding of the situation. She suggested getting in contact with the dealership and title holding company, and even gave me the contact information for assistance within the MVA in case I was unable to get anywhere myself. I was eventually able to track down the title, and it was successfully delivered to the MVA. In less than a week, my tags and title arrived at my doorstep. While I can't say any part of this process was particularly fun (it never is), credit goes to the MVA for their help, understanding, and humor regarding my situation.

If it were possible to give 0 stars, I would. My recent experience at this MVA location was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. During my visit, I encountered behavior that left me feeling disrespected and targeted. The tone and comments directed toward me were unnecessarily rude, and what concerned me most were remarks made about the Latino community. Hearing an employee say “all we have to do for these people” was both inappropriate and deeply disheartening. I expect basic respect, courtesy, and professionalism from any staff, especially at a state office. Unfortunately, that was not what I experienced. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or judged because of their race. I truly hope this issue is addressed so that others don’t go through the same treatment.

The Glen Burnie MVA is by far the best MVA in the region. They are SO helpful and everyone is kind. I had a hard time getting my registration sorted out as a new MD resident and every person I came in contact with was helpful and patient! Make an appointment before you go and your wait time is NOTHING. These people are amazing!!!

I rarely write public reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience with MVA Investigator James Willette, whose behavior over the phone was shockingly rude and unprofessional. From the moment the call began, his tone was condescending, dismissive, and unnecessarily accusatory. I reached out to the MVA seeking help with a long-standing issue, yet instead of receiving a fair and respectful conversation, I was treated as if I were being deceptive, despite being completely transparent and cooperative. His approach lacked empathy, patience, and basic professionalism. No one should ever be made to feel belittled or disrespected when simply trying to resolve a legitimate concern. His attitude reflects poorly on the MVA’s Investigation Division and undermines public trust. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience the behavior I encountered.

I dreaded going to the MVA based on decades of overcrowding, long lines, long waits, rude reps but today was quick and easy! The way MVA has it set up now, it is soooo much better! This was for license renewal. I made an appt and walked in 10 mins before. Check in at self check in kiosk. Sat down for 10 mins and then because of my appt, I was called quickly. Took my picture, answered a few questions, paid and I was done. This was sooo refreshing!

I walked into the MVA honestly expecting another frustrating experience based on how things had gone for me in the past & I figured that I would get the runaround again. But Quaisha completely changed that. She was incredibly polite, patient, & actually helped me get everything I needed taken care of without any hassle. I left feeling so grateful and relieved, no wasted time, no confusion, just excellent service. Thank you, Quaisha, for making a usually stressful process so smooth. You’re truly appreciated!!!

After that difficult experience, I had the pleasure of being helped by Ms. Sandra Guest, one of the supervisors at the Glen Burnie MVA. She was the complete opposite — calm, patient, respectful, and knowledgeable. Despite the busy environment and long wait times, she treated me with kindness and professionalism. Ms. Guest took the time to listen, understand my situation, and ensure everything was handled correctly. She is one of the most down-to-earth and soft-spoken people I’ve ever encountered in a public service office. Her professionalism, patience, and compassion truly turned a frustrating day into a manageable one. Thank you, Ms. Sandra Guest — the MVA is lucky to have someone like you representing them.

I had an appointment on October 20th at 9:15 AM for a duplicate driver’s license at the Glen Burnie MVA. I was sent to Counter 3, where I met Pat. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely frustrating. After explaining that my home had been burglarized, I provided my police report number as requested. I believed Pat was processing my duplicate license, but later found out she incorrectly submitted a change of address request — something I never asked for. She was loud, dismissive, and unprofessional, and instead of resolving the issue, she went on break mid-appointment, asking me to step aside after nearly an hour of waiting. Thirty minutes later, I received a text to return to the counter, but Pat never came back, and my appointment was ultimately canceled. The entire experience was stressful, disorganized, and unacceptable for a customer simply trying to replace a stolen license drawn out 3 hour long wait

Went in to try to get a bit information. The lady that helped me at information center was very friendly and helpful. She actually understood my concern and sent me to investigations. The people I dealt with there were incredible. Found entire staff to be very friendly and helpful. I'm 62 and and this was my best mva encounter ever. Well done and thank you

Showed up for a walk-in vision test as per an e-mail I received from them. Waited in customer service line for about two minutes, and they also had a floating rep assisting people to keep the line short, so i was redirected quickly. Literally got in and out within 5-6 minutes for the vision test, without an appt. The layout is open and well-managed/organized, staff is pleasant, the parking was easy to find a spot, just a really great experience.

I don’t usually write reviews like this, but my experience with MVA today weighed heavy on me. I reached out for help and was met with rudeness, and even hung up on. I could feel the bitterness through the phone. It reminded me how important kindness truly is—because we all have hard days, but how we treat others still matters. I was already having a rough day, and this encounter could have sent me over the edge to the point where I wouldn’t even be able to type this right now. I can’t imagine how many others have called in a desperate time seeking help, only to be met with cruelty. You never know what someone is going through. A little compassion can be the difference between hope and despair. Even though this was a negative experience, I refuse to let it harden my heart. I pray those working here come to know true love and peace in their lives, because bitterness can only be healed by grace. To whoever is reading this: “Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.” – Romans 12:21 (KJV) My hope is that future customers are met with patience, respect, and compassion. Have a Blessed Day.

I made an appointment with 1 day's notice. There was no wait whatsoever. As soon as I checked in on my phone, my number appeared above a representative's kiosk immediately. Super smooth and quick.

This is the biggest MVA in Maryland, and the facility is really spacious. It’s quite easy to get appointments here, and the service is pretty good overall. The written test is simple, but the behind-the-wheel driving test can be a bit challenging, especially with reverse parking, so make sure you’re well-prepared. Also, don’t forget to bring all the required documents to avoid any last-minute issues.

July 2024 update: brought my son here for his drivers exam, still really impressed with how knowledgeable the staff is, and how quickly they keep you moving along here! And I have to say Miss Rose was awesome! She was super kind, super patient and deserves a raise! Might be out of the way for some people but I would certainly recommend coming here just for the service... I've only been to the Glen Burnie MVA three times, but all three times I've been impressed by how friendly the staff is, and how quickly they actually get you through the place!

I like the ability to schedule and check in to your appointments online. Takes some hassle out of everything. The service lady was really nice and helped me get through my license ordeal easily. Not too crowded, ample seating, and the notification system for when you are called is very effective. I don't see anyone having a bad experience here, you just have to make sure you come with what you need to make the process simple.

This is one of the worst Motor Vehicle facilities I've ever been to, in Maryland or abroad. Unfortunately, I've had to go there several times pre-COVID. Now that COVID has hit, they have really become terrible. To get in there you need an appointment, which takes months. I recently moved to DE and needed a copy of my wife's title. I was not able to go in person due to their ridiculous appointment schedule. We decided to order it online and paid the $20. It has been over 6 months and still no title. We try calling, but no one pics up. What a joke of facility. Seems like no one working there wants to ever do their job.

Went on Saturday afternoon to take a law test and there is no crowd at all. I got a token, and immediately I was called. The processing time is also too fast, and the employees know what they are doing — the three buildings allocated for different services which is a good model — ample parking space and easy to notice from traffic. Overall the best experience.
