Rebuilt the transmission for my Mercedes S550. Both Chuck and Jack communicated well about the concerns and process. The actual Mechanic that did the rebuild is a master of his craft! Kudos to him! He loves what he does and it shows. The car is running great! Thank you and see you for my annual follow-up. *Side note: don't use Snap as a financing option. You would end up paying 200% of your loan. There are other options available.

Chuck and Larry are very knowledge of the transmission and help me out fixing my vehicle

I had a really great experience here with Chuck. Took my car in with a check engine light on (thinking it was my transmission from a couple months ago repair from a further AAMCO location) and turned out to be a hose leak, and fixed the same day. Friendly service and quick repair.

Nice People. Wasn't able to afford diagnosed repairs. I had previously paid to have a leak diagnosed. Asked the leak be addressed which wasn't done. Was given a doomsday diagnosis. Bought leak and anti slip product, had someone else install it. Transmission is working fine. I Do Still have to have O ring seal replaced as originally diagnosed. Am going to have it done soon. They didn't charge Me for the doomsday diagnosis on a Positive note. And as I said, they're Nice people.

Took my truck there and they said they same thing it would cost 299 to check it out and will give you a call they had my truck for a month and I had to pay 1500.00 to clean out my oil, flush it, and change filters, but that wasn’t even the thing that bothered me I just found out they took my breaks off my 2016 dodge durango and put someone’s old brakes back on mine. To be continued though I’m not having it

$1,600 dollar diagnostic on a CVT transmission known to be irreparable. On top of about $5,100 remove and replace cost. Should have been in car diagnostic free with repair. Or suggest CVT replacement without 1.6k $ free. Damn!

Do yourself a favor and trust all the other negative reviews. Like many others I had an estimate for a transmission replacement from somewhere else but decided to come here for their “free diagnostic/estimate”. Yeah, not true. Called me to say they couldn’t really tell me the cost to fix it until they checked all the codes it was throwing… but there was no check engine light on when I dropped it off. Either way I agreed to allow them to move forward with the $299 charge for diving deeper into it to determine if it could be rebuilt or if I would need a new transmission. But nope ofcourse that was not enough, called me back and said now they needed to start taking it apart before I could get an estimate but to do that I needed to pay $1,495 upfront before they could start. At that point I told Chuck not to move forward I was going to look into financing before I made a decision. After researching and visiting a couple dealerships I decided to trade it in. I called the office Thursday to let them know I would just be picking up my truck and paying $299. They told me they would call me right back. Didn’t call back and then they were closed by the time I tried to call. So ofcourse I called Friday morning, was told they would call me back, had another customer on the phone and she thought they had already started taking it apart. She called me back and said I could come pick it up. I left work immediately to go get it. On my way there Chuck calls me to try to convince me to continue with the repairs. Once I told him no I was on my way his entire attitude changed, tried to blame it on miscommunication between his office staff and myself. When I repeated exactly what my last conversation was with him he then told me that I had a listening problem. All that to say… horrible customer service from Chuck! And listen to these reviews they all sound similar. No need to send your typical reply to this review either Chuck, you and I both know there is nothing else to say.

Amber is amazing !!!!! VERY patient and understanding! I appreciate AAMCO for their constant communication. Will definitely be back if anything else is wrong with the car and will refer any and everyone for their car needs.

Dropped a van off for transmission issue. Already had a price for $5,200 from another shop. Aamco did their trouble shooting and said they could be build the existing transmission for between $1,200 to $2,900. Fast forward to them actually taking the old transmission out and then they said oops we can’t rebuild it now it’s $6,500. Taking it back to the original shop wasn’t an option now because he then says I would owe them $1,200 for taking the transmission out. I was stuck and had to get it fixed at AAmco so not happy.

I'm James McCall, one of the customers at 7423 Richie highway at aamco and I just wanted to say they've given me the ultimate courtesy and maintenance, and anything that I wanted fixed on my car, they fixed it excellently and then showed me as much compassion and courtesy as a business as they could and I just wanted to say that I appreciate them ever so much. Thank you.

No one is EVER going to want to discover their vehicle has transmission problems. Everyone had advice as to whether I should fix the car or ditch the car. After a million used cars viewed, I unfortunately realized that the horribly high price tag for replacing a transmission is still better than what it costs to replace an entire car, even if I go for a decent used model. Ugh! Thankfully, I finally got the BEST tip: call AAMCO; and luckily for me, my closest shop (Glen Burnie, MD) has Chuck. With his help, I learned the standard services are valuable enough (towing, the possibility to REBUILD rather than replace, and an entire nation of branches prepared to honor your warranty for up to three years!), but he was also able to match OR DO BETTER than the best price I could find elsewhere. Win-win! Chuck even put up with the challenging questions my regular mechanic was insisting I ask to make sure I wasn't being taken for a ride. I'm telling you; this guy has patience, and this garage comes through! Don't get me wrong, I still think the price of transmission problems is heartburn-inducing and the tailpipe ought to be spouting rainbow bubbles for the cost, but I wholeheartedly believe I got an amazing deal. I can't write a big enough THANK YOU, but I hope this comes close.

I came in with a failing clutch. A test of the clutch is to stress it out. I wasn't happy that now my clutch pedal comes all the way to the top to engage. It slipped a lot when I picked it up the next day. I can still drive my car, but now the clutch is engaging when my foot is almost off the pedal. This company has been there for a while, and I've known them to always do good business. Everyone was very nice and cordial. I would say, please be easy on the stress test...it shorten the clutch use, from what it already was. My apologies, I was angry. But I did mention I just got beat for $5,000 on a van, that was destroyed, by the mechanics, and had to junk! Nothing against you guys, keep up the good. I just felt the replay as I was driving home. LOL ?

Chuck & Jordon were friendly & extremely helpful. My alternator was replaced quickly as well as the serpentine belt & the "dog bone". I recommend Aamco on Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, Md. They even have a sense of humor. Tell them, Linda with the GMC sent you.

Tried to take my truck in for a check engine diagnostic to get a good gauge of what needed to get fixed and how much it would cost since my dealership service usually charges a ridiculous fee. I made an appointment and took it in first thing in the morning. Never looked at it. Took it in a 2nd time and had to call to get an update at the end of the day saying it would cost hundreds of dollars more to run additional tests. So, I wasted 2 days of my time when it would've been cheaper to get it fixed elsewhere. Don't take your car here if you want a quick or cheap fix...

The car was at this establishment for two weeks and two days before being able to pick up the vehicle. We picked up the vehicle on Friday at 4:30; less than 2 hours later, all of the transmission fluid was all over the ground and the car undriveable. The shop closed at 5pm. I had to pay to get the car towed back to the shop for repair. The repair could not even be started until Monday and still don’t have answers as to why this happened. We may or may not get the vehicle back tomorrow. Manager was very nice at least. 10/10 would not recommend.

Had my 2017 ford fusion surprise me with some serious transmission issues, Chuck has done very well at explaining the steps needed in this process. Look forward to seeing their workmanship.update...had my car back for a few weeks now, so far runs smooth as can be, great job guys!!! You only forgot to put my undercarriage mud cover thingy on(I'm no mechanic), but that's just a silly n simple mistake, it's in my trunk

Chuck has made a great amount of effort to make this matter correct. He contacted me immediately upon receiving the review. Immediately towed my vehicle to his shop free of charge the next day and evaluated the vehicle. He is seeing other shops estimated repairs and gave me a 50% discount and price for the repairs needed. He gave me very quick responses, a, needed the repairs within my required time frame and handle the situation very civil. I appreciate all the effort you put in by checking his team to evaluate the situation at hand and assess necessary steps to take to ensure customer satisfaction. I am very pleased with the service check has given me and my husband to repair our BMW. He was not only open to any suggestions I was also very informative and detailed.

I called this shop searching for one that would do a quality job on my mother's vehicle as it had recently developed some transmission issues. I was impressed immediately with how friendly Harry was on the phone. And after some discussion I told my mother to take it to him.. My mother is elderly, and I live out of state, so I was not able to be there, but upon her arrival Harry went out of his way to help her. He took the time to contact a rental car company, had her picked up, and kept us both informed on the progress of the repairs with each call we both made! Her car was fixed, and works like new! Being out of state, and sending my elderly mother to a repair shop had my anxiety through the roof. But this manager made it really easy. My mom loved him, and it's just not heard of anymore for someone in customer service to go above and beyond to keep someone comfortable with this type of process Ss. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you have transmission issues. That you go see Harry at Aamco!

I guess we should of checked out the reviews before taking one of our work trucks to AAMCO in Glen Burnie. They gave us an estimate for replacing our transmission and went well over the original estimate price, when they said it wouldn't go past what they said. When we tried to use a coupon found on their Website, they refused to honor it. Chuck said that he already gave us too many discounts... Which was a bold face lie. He never gave us a discount for anything. Plus they charge $199 to check an engine light! Ridiculous! We will never return to AAMCO in Glen burnie to service our fleet of vehicles. NOT RECOMMENDED WHATSOEVER!

My Mom and Dad have a truck that had previously had the transmission rebuilt by Aamco back in 2016. They transmission went up again and after multiple calls around, they decided to take it back to Aamco. They took the truck to them and Jason called and said that it would cost $1793.00 total to fix it unless it needed a converter, at that point it would cost an additional 300.00. After discussing it, they called Jason back the following day and told them to go ahead and fix the truck. Jason said it would be $899.00 to start the work. My parents called and paid the entire $1793.00 by credit card over the phone. The next day my Mom called to confirm again that they would start work. We were given the go ahead. My parents were told it would take 3 to 5 days to get it done. It has now been 3 weeks. No communication from Aamco at all. Every 2 to 3 days my Mom would call and ask for an update and she was told that Jason would call her by end of business, but no call came. 3 different times she was told that they were waiting for a part to arrive. Well, today she was told the truck is done BUT the remaining balance of $2,150.00 needs to be paid before it can be picked up. When she tried talking to Jason he said that he never said it was only $1793.00. He said the $1793.00 was the down payment. That was never conveyed to my Parents. When we tried to discuss it he stated he would have the owner call us. But nothing yet. This is beyond ridiculous. The entire balance was paid before work commenced, and it was confirmed by Jason with a phone call the day after payment was made. This is by far the worst place to take your vehicle. They had already rebuilt this transmission once before with the vehicles previous owner and due to it being out of warranty, my parents had to pay for another one. Horrible, horrible place. They are a SCAM!!!

Chuck and Jason are absolutely phenomenal. Unfortunately I had a Jeep Patriot clutch go bad and needed replaced. The shop I had it towed to originally quoted me over 2400 to replace a clutch. AAMCO gave us a credible quote and was extremely open and honest about the discrepancies with the car and their recommendations. Chuck and Jason made it patently clear that customer service is important them. A truly fantastic repair shop.

I have taken my car to AAMCO for multiple issues and the team has always provided great service. My transmission was going up and I got it to this shop stuck in first gear. The entire transmission needed to be replaced. The manager/owner was very upfront with me and discussed all the work that needed to be done. I had all the information I needed to make a decision. Was very happy with the work.

Horrible Service, would not recommend them to anyone. Had my Transmission rebuild in Jan, 2016 for $3,000 and in July, 2016 my Transmission totally went out it was still under warranty. Called AAMCO, they sent out a tow truck which was not covered in the warranty no matter what. After a few hours I called them to find out when they're going to fix my car so I can get back on the road, they said "somebody put Engine Oil in your Transmission" and we don't cover that since is negligence. I told them that nobody messed with my Transmission and they even showed me some fluid on the napkin and would say anything to get out of the warranty. They caught me a deal for $2000 they would fix my Transmission, and I did fix it. After they fixed it, it would shift hard and in the winter Transmission would start getting stuck in Neutral while in drive (not often but still very concerning). When I brought the car back and told them about the issue, they did a test drive and assured me Transmission was fine. When I asked them "why does it get stuck in Neutral while driving, they were saying "they don't know what I'm talking about, and they can't do nothing about it, mind you they specialize in Transmission". In the end I just went and bought another car and sold the one with Transmission problems. And when I asked is "the warranty transferable to another owner?" it took them 4 hours to come back with the answer. Horrible business, very rude staff and when they are nice is all fake". Wish I could at least get $4000 back. Please do yourselves a favor and don't go to this place. By the way the car's blue book value was $2200.

DO NOT go to Aamco Transmissions for any work especially major work. My transmission broke down and needed to be rebuilt. I read previous reviews of Aamco Trasnmissions and Total Car Care around transmission related work and should have paid closer attention to the warnings. Many reviews said that after the work they started experiencing a lot of other issues with their cars and that’s exactly what has been going on. Ever since I took my car to them it has not felt right. NO where close to how it felt before. Immediately after picking up my car there was a violent vibration which they blamed on mounts. They told me I needed to replace 2 motor mounts so I went ahead and let them do that as well. BIG MISTAKE. Also find it funny that my transmission was removed completely from the car and the technician said I needed mounts and replaced two motor mounts but said nothing about the two transmission mounts that were cracked, worn and obviously needed to be replaced. So ALL the motor mounts were replaced and still there was vibration. What do they do? Blame me. I must have hit something that caused severe damage to the frame of the car although I never had any vibration at all before. They also broke the wheel lock key for my car during their work and decided not to tell me anything about that. I could only assume they were trying to hide that from me in hopes that I would overlook it or forget about it entirely. Luckily, I realized a few weeks later before I had some kind of emergency and was stuck on the side of road, unable to remove my wheel. When I called them about it they told me that it just happens sometimes and that I’m basically on my own for getting them replaced. Funny how I have never broken them before or on any of the many other cars I have worked on but as soon as I take it to them they just snap apparently. Im sure they did something they were not supposed to do and blamed something else so they wouldn’t have to pay me back.

I took my car to this AAMCO and when I picked it up it was WORSE then when I brought it in!!! I would NEVER EVER recommend them to ANYONE!!! They are horrible!! UPDATE... After posting my review, I got an email from the owner/general manager...someone and wanted to "discuss" my review. He informed me that he wanted to help me resolve my issues with them. Well, after speaking with him AND having my certified Mercedes mechanic speak with him, I am even MORE pissed than I was before!!! I live in Chesapeake, Va and I understand that they call themselves trying to "help" me in my time of need however, they caused me further problems and aren't even trying to help me rectify the problem they ENHANCED. I paid to have them do a transmission maintenance, replace the transmission plate and some gaskets only to find out that the maintenance was not ENTIRELY done AND it seems like they contaminated my transmission fluid when they put it BACK in!!! I am thoroughly PISSED OFF. It's now going to cost me almost $2000 on top of the $1100 I ALREADY paid them!!! And NOW they are NOT trying to help me offset the cost. NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!

Went to AAMCO for a transmission repair. Ended up having additional work completed. All was well until I picked up the car 2 weeks later. Tranny is OK, but power steering system is now leaking. Never had a problem unitl AAMCO worked on it. Took it back and they said it wasn't their fault.... But, they would fix it for $500 plus labor. Sorry AAMCO, you lost my business on my other car, as it now has issues. I guess you are plenty busy, eh?

I had a great experience with AAMCO. They were able to take my car in earlier than the 2 other places I called. They took a look at my "maintenance required" light and found that it should have shut off the last time I got an oil change. They took car of it without charging me anything! I will definitely use AAMCO again in the future!

Stay far away from this dump! I went here because my Jeep was having transmission trouble and this was the closest shop to my job at the time. They said this was an "easy fix" and they could take the transmission apart and put it back together. After a few weeks I picked it up and the next day the transmission was acting up again. They took another look at it and another week later called me up and said they fixed it. I picked it up and just 2 days later it was acting up again. The shop said there was nothing more they could do. I had several arguments with the store owner and threatened to sue but never took it to court. Looking back on it I should have but these crooks screwed me over and I was out $3,000. Typical white trash scumbags

2 days before Christmas, I went to the Ashley furniture store next door to the Aamco and when I went back to my car, the doors would not unlock. It seemed as though the battery inside my key wasn't working or fearfully, an even greater problem. I went to the dodge dealership next door and their service department was a mile away. As I walked back to my car I noticed the Aamco. The moment I walked in Chuck (the supervisor) welcomed me as if I was one of his regular customers. I told him that I may need a battery for my key and he immediately stopped what he was doing and asked one of the service guys to grab a small screw driver to open up my key. They did not have the battery I needed so he told me to go across the street and offered to hold on to my key. Once I came back and Chuck put in the new battery, my car door still wouldn't open. He then immediately sent one of the guys over to unlock my door. Chuck was very concerned about my situation and did everything he could to assist me. I was also concerned because I had to pick up my daughter from daycare. I needed a locksmith and although his service guys could unlock my car, Chuck thought it maybe better to have a locksmith as they maybe able to fix any electrical issues with my key. I preferred to use his service because I felt like I could trust them. I was completely blown away in this day and age by someone who genuinely wanted what was best for my vehicle, versus making some money. Within a matter of minutes, his service guy was able to unlock my car door, and all of a sudden, my key started working. If I ever have any issues with my car, I would most certainly go to this shop. I know that without a doubt, I will be given a fair and honest estimate for any services rendered, the work will be done properly, and they will provide excellent customer service. Thanks guys!!!
