If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went to Merle's for an alternator. I bought the warranty on the part. Found out after installation that the alternator was bad. So I went back and exchanged it for a second alternator and had that one installed. Same problem --bad alternator. After two failed alternators I decided I would go back with the core and ask for a refund. I was told the warranty covered exchanges only and was denied the refund. Why would I risk a other exchange?So this place sold me not one, but two BAD ALTERNATORS and then refused to refund me the money!
I believe they are merging with NAPA, Or a least redesigning their stores with more NAPA signage. Regardless, I buy parts here all the time, best prices for bulbs and brakes, and model specific parts. They almost always have lower prices than AutoZone and OReileys with same quality. I still get my jugs of oil and batteries from Walmart, just sayin.
Tried to warranty a battery, guy behind the counter gave me a hard time and basically accused me of lying. He said they had no record of ever selling me a battery, and neither does any other store. No help at all. And I'm mobile mechanic. That's because it's Napa now. Horrible customer service.

Joe helped me cobble together a new battery cable assembly for my 96 roadmaster wagon. He did an extremely professional job crimping and weatherproofing the terminals and saved me time and money. You might find the parts you need elsewhere but I doubt you'll find the same level of service and knowledge.
It was a Sunday and needed a a Thermostat gasket they had it. I called other places they wanted $7 and up, picked up the gasket and to my surprise it was $ .49 cents. The guy at the counter was great.
These guys had the part we needed but far across town at their other store. Not only did they have their driver bring it to the one near me one hour later, their cost was a third less than at another place on 20 st near park who I won't name. Earlier, the other place had said on the phone they had it but after we got there they did not. Next time we call Merle's in the first place and not waste an hour plus fuel! Thank you.
Merle's Automotive is like the good old days you got people in there they're doing things the right way. They most likely will have any part you're looking for.
Love Merle's, they carry actual brand name parts for about the same price as online stores when you factor in the shipping. Highly recommend for hobby/professional mechanics
I tag along with my son who feels Merle"s does not disappoint when he is in need of parts. The wait time has been short the last two times I have tagged along. Their waiting area is cool. All in all i have found my visits comfortable.
Great place and the sales person there is a vw guru. I've been having issues with my 63 bug and the master cylinder was giving me issues so when I talked to howdy he saved my bacon. I will keep going to that store. Thank you so much.
If I could give zero I would. I bought a carb from them and it has a vacuum leak at the throttle shafts from stock. Rather then replacing it and standing by the parts they sell. Joe told me that I would have to bring it in and wait 3 plus weeks to see what the manufacturer had to say. This was my first time buying from Merles and it will be my last.
Merles auto parts has a great team of very knowledgeable people. I mostly use the university location but if that's not convenient for you, they have a few other locations.
