Towing fees are astronomical and you don't have a choice. It was towed before the holiday, they weren't open on holiday and still charged for storage.

Extremely Unprofessional and Unclear Business Practices!!! October 2025, my car was towed by Mid Atlantic Towing in Woodbridge for partially blocking a driveway. I take full responsibility for that mistake; but the way this company handled the situation was completely unacceptable. When I called to find out how to get my car back, I was told the total was over $300, mostly because they claimed my car was “abandoned” even though it had only been parked for less than 12 hours. I confirmed with the PWCPD responding officer and dispatch that they did not relay that information to them, leading me to waste an entire day figuring out where the source of that information was, especially as I was told the “abandoned vehicle towing fee” is $256. However when I asked for an itemized invoice, I was told I was “reading too far into everything.” Every time I asked a reasonable question, I was met with attitude, dismissal, or deflection instead of transparency. No one, at any point could produce any real form of documentation that one would reasonably expect to be readily available for this kind of business. The sad part is that even the responding officer told me that they “don’t really document” these types of towings in full detail, which further lent itself to my overall dismay. The next morning (Monday), I went to their office at 8:30 am(which says it opens at 8:00 a.m.), but no one showed up until almost 8:50 a.m. My calls went unanswered and were eventually blocked yet when my friend called immediately after, someone picked up right away. When the staff member finally arrived, she was rude, confrontational, and unprofessional, making personal remarks like, “I see why they towed your car,” and “I would’ve towed you too.” She even said that the owner had “warned her” about me and that staff had been discussing my case, undoubtedly in a negative way based on how she treated me right out of the gate. All I wanted was my car back and a breakdown of the charges. I stayed calm and polite, paid the full amount without issue, but never received a proper invoice: just one vague “abandoned towing” charge that has already been proven verifiably incorrect by anyone with common sense enough to realize that it’s impossible to have abandoned my perfectly working vehicle in front of someone’s else’s driveway for less than 12 hours. Later, the Prince William County Tow Coordinator confirmed that Mid Atlantic is supposed to have staff on-site during their posted hours, which clearly wasn’t the case. This experience was frustrating, disrespectful, and honestly concerning given that they’re a county-contracted towing company. I’m sharing this so others know what to expect and so the county can take a closer look at how this business operates. To Mid Atlantic: being in a tough industry is no excuse for treating people this way. How you speak to and handle taxpayers in a county capacity matters especially when you’re working under public contracts. This is a situation that could have turned much more sour for your business if I was someone who had the time and energy to invest in a more thorough form of restitution for my inconvenience. I hope this company seriously rethinks how it trains its staff and handles public interactions because otherwise it’s only a matter of time until they treat the wrong person this way and they take it further than I did.
