We called to schedule an appointment, and they were very friendly, but when we arrived, we received terrible service. They were busy watching a soccer game and were very rude to me.

The transmission of my 2011 Buick Enclave was overhauled and rebuilt. This was in August 2023 and as of December 2024, and 21,136 miles later, my Enclave is still going strong. I had concerns with a rebuilt transmission but, Mr. Cooper was straight up with me the entire time to include on pricing. No regrets with the rebuilt transmission however, I did have an accident with the Buick in early December. I still have no regrets as i will try to salvage my Buick and use it as my 2nd Car. Thank much you Mr. Cooper as the Transmission has held up with over 21,000 miles on it, I made the correct determination in having the Transmission rebuilt. Thanks a Billion.

I left in tears. I spoke to the nice woman on the phone that they were expecting me. I was meet with two men that made me feel like a burden. I explained I was new to this car trouble as I just bought thiscar. They looked at it needed a new Trans and they didn't know what it would cost. Car still ran. I went to leave and it woul dnot reverse. The man had the nerve to say I need to let it cool down to work. I sat in my car in my car to figure out what to do. The men insisted on pushing my car out and on my way. Women beware. I have no proof of what they did and they know it.

Had my 2006 Jeep Wrangler towed to Aamco after major transmission incident. Worked with Cooper from the onset. Very knowledgeable and professional service! Worked with me and my Jeep’s specific issues and was very reasonable and patient when it came to my needs. Jeep is now back on the road and running great. I would not hesitate to recommend Aamco to anyone for your transmission needs. Ask for Cooper and you will be in good hands!

I wish I could leave a better review. I will say that they did get my transmission installed properly as I am a former Mechanic of 43 years. I am shopping for a good place to take care of my service needs. I believe I will need to keep shopping. Because I do not care for it when anyone who says things I requested to be done have been done. Not having to do them myself when I get to the place. When I payed over 2,100 to simply have my used transmission installed I should not have to dump the old trasmission fluid out myself. Unhappy with that part of service. But aside from that that the work was acceptable.

Great and professional staff. Required service and maintenance on my transmission and was updated frequently on the status. Mechanic made sure that my vehicle was functioning properly once service and maintenance was completed prior to me picking up my vehicle.

Great service from this location! If I mention “red Jeep Wrangler” they will probably know exactly who we are since our jeep has been to this place a few things within a month!! They will go out of their way to help any way they can. We had our transmission replaced and helped out with other things not related to the transmission without charging an arm and leg. Their great customer service, professionalism, and getting things done in a timely manner is why I would highly recommend this location.

Excellent shop. Mr Cooper is honest and provides great service to his customers. Him and his technicians will tell you what your vehicle does and doesn’t need. They don’t upsell unnecessary repairs. Provided a assessment of the work required and a free estimate until I could come back and have the services done.

Top two gears failed suddenly on trip home after Christmas. Had a long, slow trip home in 2nd gear! Of three shops I checked, only Terry at AAMCO Woodbridge first required that he perform a road test, then gave me a no-nonsense appraisal of problem. His price was slightly lower than other estimates, but the real reason I chose these guys was his attitude and straightforward approach. Transmission was rebuilt in a couple of days, drives great, and has 3-year warranty - and I've just found my go-to shop for mechanical work!

AAMCO Woodbridge is the place to go for your vehicle needs! Cooper and the other staff are helpful and knowledgeable. They’re willing to go out of their way to fix your problem even without an appointment! I had my transmission replaced among other things, and now whenever I have a problem they’re my go-to shop.

I was several hours late for my appointment but Terry and Cooper still squeezed me in. I had a coupon for $149.00 transmission fluid flush and change. Best price and used BG products. Other auto shops (corporate or family.owned) price est. quoted were >$180, even $250!. I also needed an oil change and that was done too! SYNTHETIC under $70.00.. I'll be back...

I will give an update when my truck gets finished. Well, my truck turned out great. Their Service Manager was super helpful in making sure that all of my truck's needs were met. Looks like I have found a new mechanic.

Terry helped me today with servicing and inspecting my ac as it went out a few weeks ago, they helped me out and gave me great information about its current status. The customer service is great here these guys are awesome! Recommend to anyone in the nova area looking to have their vehicles worked on.

Awesome service, I had to have a rebuilt transmission and they did awesome job!!! They had me come back in 10 days to make sure everything was good, no leaks etc.which all was good and no charge. Reasonably priced for rebuilt. Definitely recommend them!!!

My experience at AAMCO Transmissions was very pleasant. They got me back on the road! My 2005 Chrysler 300 rides like a new vehicle. It seems faster than before. Mr. Cooper explained everything that was done to my car in a way that I could understand. Even gave me a highlighter to mark the important information on my documents. They also worked with me on the cost of repairs. Would recommend AAMCO Transmission, Woodbridge to my friends!

Professional service and quality work. No one wants to have to pay to have their transmission fixed or replaced and it's not worth pricing it at other places, just bite the bullet and have it done right the first time. It's almost like replacing your heart, you don't want to do it again. The standup guys at AAMCO did a professional job on my Acura MDX. Don't forget to get your transmission flushed every 30 - 50k miles or you'll be paying for another major repair.

Took my Jeep Wrangler to them February 2018 to replace my clutch system and do a 150,000 mile check up since it's coming due. Terry took care of the service and all that was needed. I brought my car (2004 Ford Focus, 107,000 miles) in to AAMCO after taking to the dealership. I was hearing rubbing/grinding noises from the front end, also, in accelerating I was feeling hesitation and bucking. The dealership said I needed a new transmission assembly at $4800, Ugh... Rob had his crew found the problem was that the left front steering knuckle was in bad condition and the ignition coil assembly need replacing, and to top it off they found loose lug nuts. The dealership has lost my confidence, especially after missing a critical safety issue as loose lug nuts. Woodbridge AAMCO made the repairs and saved me $4000!!! They listened and treated me and my old car with respect.

We've had numerous breakdowns/things that needed attention to our cars (the result of trying to keeping older cars on the road :) ). These guys are the best from the management on down. They always give a fast and accurate diagnosis of the problem, get it taken care of at a fair price and on time. Top notch work and highly recommend.

Engine and transmission problems suck. Engine and transmission problems just before towing a trailer from Woodbridge VA to Bremerton WA, it was time to start panicking. But Hogie and Jason were able to diagnose the problem strategically, methodically and quickly. They really took the time to clearly explain the problem and help me understand it. They were very professional and courteous. Then they came up with a quick and cost effective means to get my car ready for 3000 miles of cross country towing and laid out a couple of options and their price and let me decide which option I was most comfortable with. At each and every step they kept me informed. After the repairs were done they wanted me to come back in a couple of weeks just to check for leaks and verify everything was running as it should. These guy were great! If your looking for an honest mechanic who won't pressure you or scam you, but will take time to help you understand the problem and present reasonable solutions and who take pride in doing the job the right way and standing behind their work, then go to Aamco in Woodbridge. Update: At 9:45 PM on the night before the day we were to start driving to WA our tow vehicle was hit from behind at a traffic light. Panic was definitely setting in. The trailer light connector was crushed and it was unclear if our vehicle was structurally tow worthy. I called Woodbridge Aamco at midnight, and I got a REAL person who could speak English as their NATIVE language! I explained the situation and was instructed to bring the car in at 7 AM when they opened. They saw me right away, inspected the car, and assured me it would tow our trailer just fine after they repaired the trailer light connector. Having arrived safely in Bremerton, WA without any difficulty with our vehicle I can't begin to express my gratitude for their superior level of customer service. These guys are absolutely incredible!

Thanks and a deep appreciation to Jason (Manager) and Steve (Master Mechanic) for all they did to help me and my car situation. Professional to the core. Impressive step by step analysis of the real cause. Researching for the cause is critical since the lowest form of mechanical repair is to simply diagnose from the symptoms and not really find the cause. These guys did everything possible to dig down and find the cause! I was involved in the process and they contacted me to let me know the status throughout the process so that I would understand. Since I had previously been told by another dealer service station that my transmission needed to be replaced for $6,700, they went above and beyond to insure that my transmission was operating properly (which it was). Their diagnosis determined that is had to do with the engine and thankfully they service the total vehicle - not just transmissions. Although I had approved each step of service along the way, they never charged me for anything that hadn't actually fixed the problem. Jason was great and showed true concern for my car and my situation. In the end I may have to make more difficult decisions about whether to keep the car. But since the whole experience gave me total confidence in the team that is currently working at AAMCO Woodbridge, I needed to tell the community (in desperate search for somebody to trust with their car) that in my experience this is the team to trust with your car's repair.

I took my Chrysler 300 to this location and left it to have a transmission problem evaluated. Brandy told me she would call - result - 2nd day,no calls. I called and was told $252 to open it and look but applied to cost of repairs. Still no call. I called and found a rebuild was needed but I asked to think and called next day for a quote on a used one. Agreed on that and provided $1000 down payment. Called last Thursday and Brandy said they received the wrong transmission several days before and should get another by last week. Since I still had not gotten a call - I called today and still no transmission. Now I want my car back and my money back. Brandy has done nothing of value to resolve my problem and her argumentative nature is disrespectful of customers and lacking in all-around respectability and good manners.

I had an appointment for 3 pm and was busy at work so I left a little later than expected. I called to let them know I was running late and to see if they could still fit me in for the day and he told me to come in. I drop my car off there instead of waiting because I knew they could use more time since I was already late. They close at 7 pm and by 6:30 I still had not received a phone call. I ended up stopping by before they close at around 6:50 to get an update. The clerk told me they hadn't had a chance to look at my car at all. I was very upset at this because he should have just told me they couldn't get to me when I had called since I had missed my appointment. Then I wouldn't even have wasted my time bringing and leaving it there. He then proceeds to tell me that well since I missed my appointment they had to put everyone else before me and that he only had one technician. The point is that if he knew how much labor force he had and the amount of cars still coming in for the rest of the afternoon he should have been able to predict they couldn't have gotten to my car. Also, if he didn't know this...he should have known at least by 6 pm that they weren't going to look at it and he should have called me to let me know this. Once all this was discussed, he was very rude and asked if I wanted to leave it there to be looked at first thing Monday morning! Like I really want to leave my car sitting somewhere all weekend!! Then he asked if I wanted to reschedule for Monday and I asked if this was going to happen again on Monday, since he obviously has no time management skills. He then replied well if you come on time to your appointment.... This absolutely set me off!! Very rude and unhelpful...I do not recommend this place to anyone. They are absolutely horrible!!!!

1st things 1st, it's hard to actually love any repair shop because it's a break/fix situation which causes us the heartache of spending our hard earned $ on something we did not plan for, thus putting the paying customer on the defensive from the start. That being said, when the time comes (and it will) that vehicle repairs are necessary then at best you can do is hope the shop/garage you take your vehicle to is honest with their diagnosis and provide complete feedback. This is where I have the utmost respect and confidence in this particular AAMCO shop located on Hanco Center Drive, Woodbridge, VA. I've dealt with both Jason and Adam at this shop and I must say that they are extremely professional, courteous, and fair. I took my DeVille in to get several concerns checked out and received an extensive overview and itemized listing of the problem areas (in order of precedence). Because I was pleased with the professional aspect and thoroughness of the shop, I picked up my car after getting repairs made and dropped off my daughter’s car. Bottom line is this- good business practices will create a return customer base (which I have now become a part of). No, I don’t like spending money on car repairs any more than the next person does, but at least I feel comfortable in the fact that Jason, Adam, and the technicians at this AAMCO will get it done right and be honest with their diagnosis.
