A great place to climb! The staff is friendly, informative, and attentive. The facilities are well taken care of and clean. Climbers are some of the nicest people you'll come across. Everyone is there to improve themselves and happy to lend others a hand in getting started.

Arguably the greatest place in the world. Facility is incredible and it’s like a paradise. Little busy on the weekends but during the week it’s just cool routes and very nice people. Very happy I found this place.

This review is not for the climbing aspect of the gym. The gym and staff are incredible. This review is for the other reason I have a membership: the sauna. The set up is frustrating. Let me walk you through it. Instead of a locker room, you have are met with an open communal space to change or store your things in. Kids, old ladies, and shirtless half dressed dirt bags in one place. If you want to change into sauna attire you get to do it in a wet, hair covered shower floor if one is available. Otherwise: take your pick of a bathroom stall or just getting naked in the bathroom, taking the risk of surprising anyone who comes in, kids included, while you strip as fast as possible next to the urinals on urine covered floor. Once in the sauna, it’s actually great. I wish it was hotter and water could be added but I my only note real is the extremely bright light coming from outside kills the mood. Once you finish, welcome back to urine or wet hair floor time. The best part, is since there is no inbetween area, the communal and bathroom floor is consistently covered in foot sweat as people finish and walk to their bags or to change. Oh and if you want to sit down after your sauna or shower you have lovely cloth bean bag couches to lounge in. They soak up all your sweat to gift to the next person who sits there. Not to mention that the order of operations often means walking into the communal area in only a towel or in only sweaty shorts. Don’t get me started on the “cold plunge” hair soup that works once a year. Again I love TRC but it’s such a terrible sauna set up Edit: TRC has replied, and I repeat, I love TRC. I love the staff. I love the climbing. I love it, 5 stars all around to all non-sauna things. I also still love and use the sauna very regularly and I am glad they have it!!!

While visiting Raleigh, we stopped by Triangle Rock Club – Salvage Yard, and it was a blast. We had a group of 8 adults and teenagers—with a mix of first-timers and experienced climbers, and everyone had a great time. The gym is spacious with a wide variety of well-set routes. Kate checked us in and was awesome—she explained everything clearly and did a great job helping our first timers learn the basics. We’ll definitely be back. If you’re reading this, you should absolutely check out this climbing gym

I first want to say that I have been to this gym a couple of times now and had good experiences. Today was a frustrating one primarily around the process of belay training. I was taught for five minutes how to belay a climber and got to the point where the staff member felt confident I knew it well enough to do the ‘belay test’ in order for me to belay my family for the day. I then took the belay test with another staff member for about 3 minutes and was told my ‘sequencing was not smooth enough’. After fixing a few things it was said to be ‘ok, but I am unable to pass you today’. This meant that I couldn’t belay for the rest of the day nor retake the ‘test’. We paid for 5 passes and because part of the wall was being worked on, we were restricted to the 4 auto-belays available, which during a good portion of the time we were there were being blocked but gym members using the routes that intersected, limiting us further. I am extremely thankful that for TRC, safety is a priority and would absolutely not want to be given the ability to belay my family if I wasn’t deemed safe, but I don’t believe this was the issue. For those of us that buy passes to come visit the gym, it is not as simple as let’s just go again tomorrow. If the ‘test’ is to make sure someone is safe to belay, not letting them retake until whenever they are able to come back to the gym does not seem like the best process. I shared all of this feedback and am hopeful that it is considered.

I just came back from college for break and decided to pop by this new TRC location. I’ve been going to TRC since there were just three locations. This is such a nice gym with a large open concept and great climbs all around for both boulders and ropes. The workout area is also super nice with all kinds of equipment and weights. I also had the chance to try the sauna and this is my only “complaint”. The sauna is great and fits a good amount of people, however with that being said, there is not temperature gage or temperature listed anywhere about how hot the sauna is. There is also only one clock that is outside the sauna door and is only visible if you are sitting at the door, therefore there is no way to tell how long you have been in the sauna if there are multiple people and you can’t see the clock. I am use to those sand timers on the wall and think this would be a great addition. They have signs posted all over about being aware of your body and heat exhaustion but don’t have anything listed about how hot it is or how long you have been inside?? Seems a bit strange to me but hopefully they will add it soon. That being said, it’s a great addition to the TRC community:)

Outstanding environment! Very helpful staff. Easy to enroll in good training to ensure proper / safe belaying. When I started climbing 45 years ago we dreamed of places like this. There are plenty of options from 5.6 to 5.12. Bouldering, autobelay, top rope, and lead routes.

these guys ARE GREAT! I am newish to Rock gyms and I came in for the first time. They were super helpful and made sure I understood everything. The facility is really nice! I do not know if I am going to get a membership but, I do know that I plan on coming at minimum once a month or once every other week!

Aside from my home and work, I spend more time at TRC Salvage Yard than probably anywhere else. The staff are always fantastic, and the facilities are always clean. The community they’ve cultivated is wonderful.

TRC was a blast! The people were so friendly and helpful and the facility was top notch! Everything was so clean and well kept. If you’re thinking about getting into climbing but you’re intimidated to take the jump, TRC is a fantastic place to start! I would recommend it to everyone!

What an amazing place for an adventure with my son! Clean facility and so well laid out! It was breathtaking with SO MANY walls of all sizes to tackle and various challenges to face down!!! The rental gear was clean and felt new, and the staff was friendly and VERY knowledgeable. Thank you TRC for such a great day that I will never forget.

I’ve never done Rock Climbing before and TRC made it so easy for me to learn and complete my first climb! From the moment I walked through the doors, every TRC representative treated me like family. They have something for everyone, whether you’re an adult or a kid. “A Family that climbs together, stays TOGETHER!” - their motto and I LOVE IT since I’m a Dad myself.

We went to the TRC Salvage Yard location for a school fundraiser. All of the staff members assigned to work in our school's climbing area were kind, courteous, and patient. The facility was clean and well-lit, making me feel comfortable with trying climbing for the first time.

This place is incredible! I was blown away by the super nice staff and amenities. This was my very first time in a climbing gym and I absolutely fell in love with it. I’m going to be so spoiled if I go anywhere else because this place couldn’t be any better. I can’t wait to try the cold plunge next time! Shoutout to Blake for being especially wonderful and patient. Can’t wait for next time!

The facility is very nice and the staff is friendly and professional. All of the equipment appears to be of high quality and very clean and well maintained. I felt like safety was a high priority. My daughter and her partner are members and I am happy that they have such a nice place to climb and work out.

Going to the TRC was an amazing experience! My 10 year old daughter and I were looking for an activity to do together and I believe we have found it. The staff are so welcoming and encouraging. The environment was calm, even on a weekend. The facility was so clean and organized. We can’t wait to get back there! Thank you for an excellent adventure!

Triangle Rock Club is awesome! I am a very beginner climber and was actually incredibly scared going in. However, this place was beautiful and just genuinely had great vibes. They have a great price for first time guests if you want to stop in and just try it! My arms feel like jelly. I’ll be back!

Tyler has spoken to me every time i've come in and he interacts very well with the climbers. He is a pro climber, i've seen it. Now i've been in every day since the last update. I have used the walking machines and the stair climber machine, and the gym a little bit. I have been able to climb roots I never imagined i'm capable of. So this place also helps you feel much better about yourself. Because everything you do here will make you stronger and healthier. I haven't been in once without meeting a new person.Because all the climbers and employees are friendly. This is a community you must join if you want to meet some good people, up your climbing game, or just wanna climb with some strangers. It's even easy to climb alone if you don't want company. But if I see you, I'll be saying hello! Update: couldn't resist a third visit today. Beth and Owen helped me out with my new membership and buying shoes. So yes, this place rocks so much it only took two visits to get a permanent membership. I've been here twice, and it is the best. This place has every option for climbers, and it's a huge place. Super clean bathrooms, a locker room, a sauna... With a membership, you get everything, including the cold plunge tub, and a gym and a cardio facility. It looks like they even have daycare or at least climbing for children. Most of the associates said hello to us and were very helpful and friendly. Also, the other climbers were very friendly and we met a few new connections. Jenna and Tyler and Thomas were an awesome team and introduced us to the place for our first time in. I haven't climbed a rock in thirty years and it only took two sessions at Triangle Rock Club - Salvageyard, and i'm hooked. I know you can sign up for use online on their website. I know it's the most exciting and fun time I've had in a year living in north carolina but I also had my twenty two year old son visiting me for 3 days, showing me how its done (he's the climber). And by far the best workout i've had, core, back, legs, arms, shoulders, full body workout. If you want an incredible exercise session, a workout, if you're a climber of ANY level, or if you just want to go hang out in a really cool facility and climb on some manufactured. rocks.... all options are available at this place. And i'm definitely sold on a membership. I would say, no one could spend 2 weeks at this place and not come out looking like a rock star. I mean, literally half the climbers look like model fitness gurus, but the other half looked just like you and me. And finally, it's incredible. If you've never been to a place like this, there's zero pressure. The first time you walk in, you watch a little video. You sign a paper or something and within ten minutes, you're climbing whatever you want in the whole facility. Rental shoes included and you need nothing else. You just walk around the place and look for somewhere to climb up something. But you can go to every level from having a harness and having ropes, and then some thing that assists with climbing or with coming down. This facility is top level professional grade, yet no pressure for any of us.... beginner, to Mount Everest climber... climb five feet up to fifty feet or more probably. I'm a total beginner, and I felt completely welcomed by staff and members, and I just walked up to 1 of the walls and started climbing, like I was a kid again. Nothing but fun to have here. All the information on their website. Thank you for this place! Pretty much a brand new facility!

No matter who I take with me to climb here, it's always a great time!! I love all the places opening up around the gym too - so after we get a good work out in, there's food, drinks, and more close by! Great gym, great people, great location!

My son is a member, and he took me as a guest while I was visiting. It was my first experience with rock climbing, and I loved it. After climbing, I used the weight room. I think this is a great facility, and I would enjoy being a member if I lived in the area.

I absolutely love climbing and working out at TRC Salvage Yard! The staff is always so friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming—it really makes the space feel like a community. The gym itself is beautiful and well-designed, with awesome climbing routes and a great layout. I also really appreciate the amenities like the showers, sauna, cold plunge, and free classes—they make it easy to spend a whole afternoon here. The events are super fun and always well-organized. Easily my favorite gym in the area!

Top-notch gym, services and culture. I was visiting from Columbus, Ohio, and my home gym is just fine! I climbed there on and off for five years. But… Then I visited the Triangle Rock Club and I realized just how good gym climbing could be. All the locations are fantastic, but the salvage yard (The latest at the time of writing) is phenomenal. The staff was awesome, the atmosphere was inviting, the routes were great and the whole package was very well organized. The wall•Topia wall-scaping was very interesting and dynamic, and the entire scene is as nice to look at as is to climb! I would and have already brought friends and recommended to many others. TRC is as good as they come, And the Salvage Yard location is nothing less!

Great service and attentiveness. I had my son’s 13 birthday party here. The room was spacious and they have all the utensils you need. I brought just in case but they had it all. There is a fridge right in that room , which is very convenient. I ordered pizza through papa John’s and they delivered right to the place. This location is very spacious bigger than what I expected it to be. The bathrooms are clean. The entire place is clean. It was a busy day but this did not interfere. My son and his friend enjoyed their time. The host that we were assigned made this a great experience for us.

I’ve really enjoyed my first months at the salvage yard location. Having come from a gym out west with big walls to lead this feels just like that, and the bouldering area is huge with a good variety of climbs from overhung to slab to top out and grades all up and down the block. The only reason for four stars is that the locker room leaves me wanting much much more - no space, just 2 showers, and they showers aren’t very clean. Otherwise, the facility is nice and the workout/free weight section is good quality

I love TRC and was a member for almost five years prior to moving to WNC. This facility has an almost endless amount of boulders. Each wall is different allowing you to focus on what you want to, from slab to roof. Boards and exercise equipment is available and plentiful. I didn't have a chance to rope climb but it looked amazing. The main downside of this location is the cold plunge and sauna. The cold plunge was already OUT-OF-ORDER and there is no staff back there to enforce any of the rules. There are only two showers per bathroom! For a sauna that can fit 15-20 people, you install two showers? Don't get me wrong, the showers were beautiful. But you could have fit four-six shower stalls in that same space. The line was insane which caused people to change in the stalls, without showering. It was absolutely disgusting that the majority of people going into the sauna did not shower or wash off their feet. We have all smelled stinky climbing shoes, that's what you are in the sauna with. Again the entire time I didn't see a single staff member back there. This will probably be a section of the gym that is constantly out of order or closed for maintenance. If I were still a member I wouldn't utilize this "Amenity".

Wow! A great gym! Plenty of space, plenty of routes, and a hot sauna. It's new, fresh, clean, and has grippy walls! What more could you ask for in a climbing gym?
