My family was traveling on I-75 heading out of state when our truck started “bucking” when it accelerated. It was 4:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. I googled nearest auto repair and found Johnnys. We called them and they said they would look at the truck. We got there and they ran diagnostics quickly and diagnosed the problem. They got the parts needed and made the repair in no time. I think they had us all fixed and ready to go in about 45 minutes. They were very efficient and knowledgeable. They stayed past closing time (on a Friday) and made us feel welcome. We would definitely stop again if in the area!

My Mother’s car broke down on Baya and a few of our Friends recommended Johnny’s, we towed it there and they were able to get the clutch fixed SUPER FAST! The Gentlemen working were very kind and accommodating. I seriously was stressed but they saved the day! 10/10 recommend!

These guys are awesome and I’m gonna tell you why they are awesome and that you should choose this as your mechanic if you live in the Columbia county area. Me and my wife had a timing chain problem with our vehicle where it skipped time And it damaged part of the engine. But we could not afford $7000 to replace the engine. I talked to the mechanics at Johnny’s auto and explained me and my wife’s situation And how this was our only vehicle and our funds were limited. So instead of replacing the engine. The mechanics worked with me on fixing the vehicle They never did any work without my consent and they always talked to me and explained what it was and why it needed to be replaced . After it was all said and done, they saved me about $3000. It gets better financially me and my wife could not afford It all in one shot so they allowed us to make it in payments. I’ve been driving the vehicle for about three weeks now And it runs like a dream. They are thorough fair and don’t do anything without your permission And are reasonable and will work with you phenomenal place. I will from here on out always be going to Johnny’s auto For all of my Vehicle needs.

I went into Johnnys ready to pay what was quoted to replace my alternator, about half of what I was quoted from a competitor in town. Once there a very friendly and professional gentleman whom I’m assuming was the shop owner/manager found that my alternator was actually charging as it should. Not only was he honest with me about my alternator not being the issue he helped me troubleshoot the problem to a loose connection and showed me where to look and what to do if I came across the problem again. When I asked what was owed this man wouldn’t even take a tip. The honesty and professionalism at Johnnys has made them my first choice for future auto repair.

Darrell the owner was incredible!!!! He treated my truck just as if it was his own. He is extremely knowledgeable. Heather and Cynthia were absolutely wonderful to me. They had to replace the engine on my truck and they did a very good job. They kept me up to speed on the progress of my truck. Darrell answered all of my questions and put me at ease which made me feel much better. When they told me my truck was ready I had no way to get there. Darrell personally came out and got me at my house and took me back to the shop. After I picked up my truck, there was a minor glitch on it. I took it back to the shop, and Darrell’s mechanic addressed it immediately. it was just a minor issue and it was resolved. They even washed my truck up for me before I picked it up. I would not hesitate to recommend Johnny’s auto repair to anyone. They treat their customers with respect, professionalism, and courtesy.I just want to add that I had a couple of issues after my engine replacement. Johnny's has continued to resolve the issues everytime. They listen to my concerns and answered all my questions to make sure I was satisfied.

These guys went above & beyond to help an elderly friend who got stranded when her oil pan busted. Somehow it was punctured while she was on a road trip, so her engine locked up at a stop in Lake City. Alone & on fixed income, can’t tow all over town paying diagnostics. That is an understandably tough position to be in. I emailed Johnny’s and half their shop showed up to her van within 20 minutes to confirm her problem & advise her of options, which is to let the van go because a motor replacement would not be worth the cost. They did this at no charge, & offered to do so, I did not ask & even offered them cash as a thank you - they refused to accept. She will have to buy another car, but at least now she knows, without spending hundreds of dollars on mechanics to tell her they can’t fix it anyway. If more businesses provided such service & care, society would be a better place. I will only give my business to Johnny’s in the future when I am in this part of Florida.

Best place for small or big repairs as well as basic maintenance. I went for maintenance, was treated kindly, everyone was professional, they discovered when I had my last oil change I got locally (not at Johnny’s) they had neglected to replace the O ring so my car was leaking oil!! They’re reasonably priced and I appreciate that they explain what they did and if they discovered anything else that may be addressed. I won’t go anywhere else! Thank you Johnny’s Auto Repair!

Wonderful customer service and kind people. We had a problem in the middle of a road trip on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend, and they fit us in & found the problem. It was a tire issue that we needed to go elsewhere to have fixed, but instead of just sending us off to figure it out, they called around to find a tire place with the correct tires for us and made sure we knew how to get there. They didn’t even charge us because figuring out the problem was quicker than they expected. I am so grateful we found them!

This place is so over priced you will be better off going to the Dealership. The customer service is not great. My truck broke down and I had it towed there because it had good reviews online. 1st they told me it was one thing, and changed me $1000 to repair it afterwards i told it was my timing chain. They wanted me to pay an additional $7000. I then take my truck to another repair shop just 3 miles away from Johnny's and paid $1800. They actually laughed when i told them what Johnny's was asking me to pay. 2nd when I was having my car moved I noticed my engine cover missing I asked about it and was told very rudely that I wasn't there, so I guess it walked itself away. I only wish I had this information then. Maybe you will have a better experience. I was told later by someone in the area that I got the Black price ? and it really felt that way. I just wanted to share my experience.

We are hoping for a resolution to our problem. Our truck has been diagnosed by Johnnies needing 4k worth of repairs. We asked them to repair the most important first, a huge leak in the power steering fluid. Less than 1 month after the $1000 repair the fluid now pours out. We are counting on the warranty that they will do the repairs needed and we will have a truck that will be able to be driven. Right now we are not so sure but will update the stars if they stand by their word

Stranded on the interstate with a transmission issue on a holiday weekend. After making many calls with no help called these guys. Within 30 minutes the tow truck they recommended was towing me in. Diagnosed quickly & ended up renting a u-haul with tow dolly from them to get home. Transmission was shot. Professional, friendly, helpful service. Great experience highly recommend.

Be very careful of this place. I broke down in lake City, Florida on my way across the United States in July 2024. The vehicle was almost brand new with 9,000 miles. They told me that I needed a new electronic power steering pump (2021 ford transit van) and they quoted me $3,000 Dollars. They said they tried doing an update on the system and that didn't solve the problem. My boss and I were highly suspicious of them, so I brought it to the Ford Dealership and dropped it off. The next morning ford called me and said my bill was only a few hundred dollars and all the power steering system needed was an update. I would say it was a misunderstanding but not sure how. They even told me they tried doing the update.

This place no longer lives up to its standards that is printed on the front door. I went to ac express up the street from Johnny's. And they did a horrible job working on my car. After getting work done on our car I ended up at Johnny's not knowing it was same company. I proceeded to tell them what the problem was. It was at that point I found out it was the same company. They got really defensive and started making it out like it was all my fault. They had there head mechanic test drive the car and he came back and said he didn't see anything wrong with it that wasn't going to hurt the car or my family. Told me to make an appointment to come back after the 4th of July last year. Well I made the appointment and they blew me off. Keep in mind this was the 3rd attempt trying to fix the situation. It took me some time to save up more money to be looked at by another shop. When I finally got it to another shop they couldn't see how the wheels did not fall off. The bearings were so smashed in that they had to be cut out of hub assembly. I went back to Johnny's a fourth time to try and resolve this. Well needless to say I left all my info for the owner to reach out to me. I heard nothing not even an apology from them. Both employees from ac express no longer work there. The 2 women at the front counter even acknowledged that both of them no longer work for that company. Hmmmmmm I wonder why they would fire the 2 guys that handled my repair. So you fired the 2 guys that messed my car but you willingly won't fix the issue. Seems like the employees are trying to cover things up from owner or the owner is just as incompetent as the employees. They refuse to reach out to me and I have tried to talk to them. I guess my only choice is to obtain a lawyer. As of right now, I am out 2000 dollars. The car had brand new tires on it when all this started. 500 for the tires 700 for ac express to mess my car up and 1000 for it to get fixed the right way. Keep in mind the other company had to cut old bearings out of assembly which took more time to do. I have all the pictures dated and time stamps. Trying to be civil about this situation but no one is willing to even try. It was my company I would be trying to keep a good name. Bad reviews can be removed when things are Rectified. Photos below are just Example of workmanship done. The nut and bolt picture is what was holding the hub assembly to the lower control arm. It was totally stripped out from taping it in with hammer instead of lining it up first. The lower ball joint stud was pushed through hub assembly and smashed the lower ball joint boot. Like I said all of this can be rectified with a simple conversation.

When I lived in Florida I had this shop as my mechanic in a different location. And I stopped going there because I felt like it was pricey but a repair was made without talking to me. I was coming back out of state to have this done and just to have it looked they charged $140 . Some stores do this some don't and I understand if you're doing a comprehensive workup or taking things apart and your mechanic is tied up for a couple hours. But not just a quick look. I feel like they misdiagnosed my car. One thing was wrong with it but I was told there were several different things that was wrong with it. I took it to two more mechanics and they did not find but the one thing that was wrong with it that was fixed. They quoted me over $1,000 to have CV axles which didn't need to be replaced and a bearing that did need to be replaced and I did get it fixed at another shop for a lot less. Not saying they don't do good work. I'm just saying that it's kind of pricey and sometimes you may need a second opinion.

We took our car the because of water getting in engine and damaged one of the pistons. We we're going thru our insurance to motor replaced or repaired but found out it had a hole in block. So we depended on them to do everything thru insurance company. But I kept getting text and calls that they hadn't heard from them. Ask me to contact the insurance company. It has been there for almost a month. I had to keep calling the insurance to find out if they had finalized everything for repairs. Then the insurance company called me and told me they approved it. Then johnnies calls me and tells me to come pick car up because they didn't add money on the engine so he said if insurance wouldn't pay it that I would have to pay for it. Why should I have to pay for difference because the shops estimate mistake. So I called insurance and they gave into him . And said would let people know how I was treated. He told come get car again. This is not right way to do people. This why we get such high insurance, just my opinion. I won't take my vehicle to them ever again.

Liars. If they see a woman with a child they will try to take advantage of you. Bad part is, they didn't know little miss worked on vehicles with her dad. Didn't pull me to the back to look, had my ex come to the back and vaguely pointed to things. "Something crumbled in his hands to the touch he said." Made me sign a waiver and I left. Guy pulled the car around and acted frantic like everything was just gonna fall apart. Had no problems until I left the place. Went to press the breaks and it wasn't stopping, went right through a red light, had my 3yo in the back seat. I kept going to prevent an accident. The control arm on the driver's side seemed to be the only thing wrong with it when me and my dad went to take a look for ourselves. But the list of stuff they gave me was struts, control arms, shocks, said everything in the area was basically screwed on both sides. They deleted all the reviews that were up here before. They will want you to spend more money than you need to. My dad also found some loose bolts. Idk if it was done there but when I told them about how everyone acted and what all they said was wrong with it. Seeing it ourselves showed us that these people just saw a target.

They looked at my van for a buyers inspection, at the buyer request. After over two hours of inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic found a long list of issues and quoted over $4k to fix them. It didn't seem right since the van has low miles and not really that old. I brought the van to my mechanic, that I actually trust, to confirm these issues, and only two of them were valid. The repairs from my mechanic ended up being around $450, which included scheduled maintenance not even mentioned by Johnny's mechanic. When I read the quote from Johnny's, something didn't seem right. It felt as if they were trying to make up repairs there weren't needed to make money. The rates seemed inflated as well. I felt bad for the buyer that paid for this inspection. They did not do an honest inspection, and the buyer paid a lot for it. I would not recommend going here.

Took my vehicle there to get a bolt that was stripped, they spent an hour on it and didn't charge me a dime. Honest folks, will Def take my vehicle here in the future.

My transmission experience there was totally awesome. I made contact with Heather at the front counter, arranged to have my hummer H2 dropped off along with the transmission from streetsmart transmission service. When the transmission arrived I was contacted. I drop my vehicle off and in a matter of days my transmission was replaced. It’s only been a week or so and I am enjoying my driving experience as I did when I first purchase my hummer H2 back in 2008. I don’t know which technicians worked on my vehicle at the shop, however, they are gifted with awesome talent. Once again, I am truly appreciative and would recommend Johnny transmission as a go to shop for auto repair service.

CJ allowed me to talk about the electrical issue on my Ford Edge. This courtesy much appreciated since after a new alternator and many batteries later, no solution to battery drainage problem. They investigated for many days to find the ground fault. They even let me have the car over the weekend - really nice. On top, the price was super reasonable. I recommended Johnny's to my friends.

My husband and I had just started a 14 hour drive from Georgia to Houston, TX when we realized we had a check engine light on. We stopped and checked and it was in need of an immediate fix as it would have overheated - needed to replace the thermostat in the engine. We called around to find a mechanic and found Johnny’s was close to where we were. We called & explained we had to get to Houston same day and although they were very busy they fit us in. When we arrived we only waited 15 minutes before they started working on the car. They were friendly, professional and moved as quickly as they could to get us back on the road. The definitely went above and beyond and we would highly recommend for any of your car repair needs.

Office staff was very friendly and waiting area was nice. The mechanic working on my vehicle was great. I went in for an alignment on a lifted jeep after doing some suspension work and he informed me that I was missing 2 particular adjustment bolts that were not on the jeep from the factory and since the lift realigned the front axel were important in doing the job correctly. Mind you, this was after 2 previous shops performed alignments for me on the jeep. He also tightened up a few that I missed tightening up. Even though I didn't get the alignment complete, this is a shop that I will make the drive to have things done that I can't personally do myself and all future alignments. Can't speak highly enough. Great shop.

Highly recommend! I called after being close to stranded on I-75 from Tampa heading to Atlanta. I called them and was kindly greeted and encouraged to bring my van in right away. They quickly disagnosed the problem, had the new alternator in stock and replaced expeditiously. I was able to return to my trip up north with minimal down time. I hope I don't need their services again, but if I do THEY would be my first call! Thanks for the amazing service and friendly staff!

My diesel Truck broke down otw to 1st Street music. Had the beast towed to Johnny's on main. Diagnosed promptly and repaired in a timely manner with Reasonable pricing. 1st time using and will mos def return. Repairs needed were explained well and the payment process was painless.

Found Johnny’s after our truck was having AC issues in the middle of our cross-country road trip (this was during a Florida summer mind you). We came in, and they took care of us right away and got us out quick and in time for us to make it to our first road trip destination. These folks took such good care of us and were so efficient! No BS, only great work and reasonable prices!

Great operation. In one of those dreaded scenarios all travelers fear, of having a breakdown on an Interstate far from home, it finally happened to me. The flat bed driver (also a great guy) took my van here. Due to being right before closing time, and the nature of my breakdown, being a transmission, I rented another van, and continued my trip, and never returned. They were very thorough in their diagnosis, and offered me several options. All their recondmendations were fairly priced. They didn't charge me for the month that my vehicle sat there, before I made the "executive decision" to just sell it to a salvage yard. I noted they had many very nice classic cars in for service too. That's really all you need to know about any garage. Nice people.
