Jim and his staff were above and beyond gracious to me and my situation. I won't go into all of it but I ultimately was stuck for four days in Lake City, Florida due to a mechanical failure on a trailer I was towing. Everyone around town that I spoke with and mentioned JIM's place, they all had good things to say about him and his staff. People said their whole families had used JIM's for years. I'm sure if you're in that area and you need a tow or something fixed on your car or truck, they can help you. They even know where a nice lake is if you want to put your boat in! Lol Have a go for yourselves. Tell them the pontoon guy sent you.

Talked with the woman on the phone and she was extremely rude. She had an attitude with me from the start when I was just trying an older couple with a charging issue. I do not recommend dealing with this woman here.

We ran into car trouble on a road trip to Miami. Our check engine, AT Oil Temp, ABS, and traction control lights turned on, and would turn on every time we got on the highway. The team quickly helped to get a diagnostic, and while the part we needed was solely carried at a dealership, the whole team was helpful in coming up with possible solutions and also gave some advice as to how to avoid the problem in the future. I highly recommend this mechanic shop!! Thank you guys for your kindness, help, and up front honesty!!

I do not recommend. Staff was rude, and charged my wife almost 70 dollars plus the cost of wiper blades to change them. I get it, got to charge for your time, but it doesn't take 30 minutes to change wiper blades... Auto Zone does it for free and in about 3 minutes.

Recently had to have my car towed up to the body shop and the first driver they sent out refused to tow my car due to over hanging christmas lights over my driveway that I was unable to get home in time to take down so I had to wait 2 more days to have my car towed by them. The second driver (TOMMY) they sent out went above and beyond, Tommy removed the lights and refused to leave without my car loaded on his wrecker. He was amazing, respectful, answered any and all my questions and he even offered to rehang my christmas lights!! He made the entire experience from arriving to pick up my car to dropping it off at the body shop incredible and worry free!! It only let's me choose 5 stars but Tommy definitely, no doubt deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (10 stars) for his incredible services and if Jim's auto is toeing your vehicle I'd highly recommended requesting Tommy!!!

Jim’s saved the day for us when our motorhome blew a belt on I75. They came out quick, were incredibly friendly and honest!!! They got us back on the road in 1 business day!!! Their tow price was half the local competitors. They were easily able to work on our vintage 85 Chevy chassis and get the AC compressor in and cranking in hours. From the office ladies, to the tow truck driver to the birthday tech who let my dog clean his face, the most kind and helpful company. THANK YOU JIMS!

I called after I left auto zone ( I was checking their work) he got me right in for their diagnostic testing. It was around lunch time.they were busy but CJ went out of his way to get his 'other' diagnostic tester and test my stuff...he explained in layman's terms,was courteous, and did not charge me for the testing...I would definitely recommend them just on them being a small business owner and they got me in same day to do what I asked...thanks CJ..keep up the good work

Jim and the two employees who helped us at were a real a blessing. Our electric vehicle died in the middle of the highway and While most of the companies we called were unavailable or taking more than 4 hours they said it would take around 2 hours. I asked Jim some help since I had a kid with me and he said give me 45 mins , they took 42 mins and drove us to the next electric station. I connected the car but was not starting the charge. The guys helped me charging the battery and they didn’t leave the place until my car started charging properly. The went above and beyond! Thank you!!!!

Jims Towing helped us so much. I highly recommend them. We had our service truck break down, I called them and they were out to my truck within 30 mins. Amazing!!! The ladies in the office are extremely helpful and so nice to talk to. I will call them everytime I need a tow!!

Highly recommend Jim’s auto service. Had a great experience with Rob when our Tesla wasn’t starting after the Lake City Supercharger. Rob was knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. Good to note that Jim’s auto service is Tesla Certified so they know the proper ways to handle Teslas (winching, tow mode, and straps).

Jim's auto is the best in lake city fl. HANDS DOWN PERIOD!!! I have been going there for 30 +years ever since I moved here in 1991 and I have never posted a review before, and happened to be looking at the reviews on this place which is almost all 5 stars except for 2 to them I say you must have straight up lied are deserved the treatment you received. Jim's service staff was excellent! They diagnosed and repaired my car as quickly as possible after a hurricane hit the area the day before. I highly recommend them for their professionalism and compassion. Great work!!

I made an appointment, got there early and left my car. They called 4 hours later and said nothing was wrong with my car. I insisted there was and never heard back. When I got there at 4,,8 hours after I dropped the car off they told me I needed a fan, which they had not even tried to obtain. I had to wait 20 minutes more for them to put back together what they had taken apart and paid $88 for my car not to be fixed. Extremely disappointed.

Jim's Towing was awesome. We had a steer tire blowout on our motorhome on the way home to Michigan. When Good Sam and our insurance company could not find a company to tow us, we started calling around. Jim's was the only company to say yes. Their driver, Will, was knowledgeable and professional. He explained exactly what he was going to do, so we were always informed. He even strapped up our mud flap so it would not get damaged during the tow. He towed us to a Freightliner repair shop (see another review) and backed us into an RV parking spot with an electrical hookup. He set our motorhome down on wood blocks that he left behind so that we could level and use the motorhome for the night. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience, while in a bad situation. We would highly recommend Jim's Towing. And, Will, a big THANK YOU.

Jim and everyone employed at Jim's Auto Service in Lake City, Florida are a blessing. Our car required towing and repair on a trip from Florida to Wisconsin. They went above and beyond what you would expect. When we had to wait until the next day for parts to arrive, Jim even drove us to a hotel and came back the next day after the car was fixed to pick us up. I can't say enough about how wonderful everyone was. Thank you so much to Jim's Auto for your kindness.

Lots of grateful I-75 marooned customers here. My story is similar to those with the five stars and good things to say. *Christmas Day* afternoon my fuel pump failed on the on-ramp out of Lake City. I used my phone and found Jim who answered, and he dispatched the wrecker arriving within 40 minutes, to take my old wagon baby to the shop. We had to wait a day on the pump but then it came in slightly earlier than expected. The call to me at hotel early this morning: "ready!" was such a relief as I have a job to do tomorrow. This adventure has been annoying, but I can't think of how it could have been expedited faster. Quick and sure diagnosis, good work with my new pump, the quick wrecker response... I'm very grateful! Thank you Jim's Auto! *Edit. Unfortunately, the fuel pump failed a week and a half later at home, right before another long trip. From what we can tell, this is not Jim's Auto's fault (labor, mechanic who installed it) however one component of the pump was suspect. Possible he could have caught it, but it's debatable. My local mechanic has an eagle eye and it's all the theory we have. It doesn't really matter, you do what you have to do and hope for cooperation. Jim's Auto proceeded to be very helpful on the phone with instructions for Napa parts/labor reimbursement. All this has turned out well, as good as can be expected. *end edit

Wow…JIM'S AUTO SERVICE was awesome. This place was so incredibly helpful. Jim and his staff made a very stressful situation PEACEFUL! Jim did some trouble shooting for my vehicle and it turns out I DID NOT NEED THE $6200 repair that Jeep said I did! You will be treated with kindness and professionalism. They were honest and genuinely concerned. Jim took the time to help us and made no money. That is what I call integrity. If you don’t need the repair they will tell you. If I lived here and needed ANY auto repairs I would only do business here.

Jim’s picked us up on the Interstate after a traumatic big truck crash. They treated us with care, compassion and then delivered us and our dog to a local hotel after dropping our totaled vehicle at their secure lot. They were gracious and waited with us as we removed our personal belongings from our vehicle the next day. If you meet Jim’s, you are not having a good day, but these folks are superior in treating with compassion and making sure that you are taken care of to the maximum of their ability. You leave feeling like you have new friends.

Waited a week and a half to take my car in to be checked for computer issues. After 2 days with no call I call them 3 times and they tell me the person I need to speak to is not there. Of course it was a Friday and they are closed on the weekends. I call Monday and the only thing they have done is start the car and drive it around wasting my gas and can't find anything wrong. I told them I was coming to pick it up. When I get there they tell me that they read the service ticket wrong and saw that it was reading several error codes and the ac is not working. I said that was the reason I brought it in the first place. Told them I can't wait anymore and need my car. The owner said they were checking the ac and have it hooked to a machine because everything was good on it but not getting power for some reason. Give them 10 minutes and I can go. The front desk person tries to charge me a bill of $80 for a diagnostic fee. I asked why they are charging me to tell me there's something wrong with the computer when I had already known that and was the reason I brought it to the. I waited for 45 minutes and still no car. They came to tell me that they had rolled 3 out of the 4 windows down and one of them would not roll back up. I said yes 2 of the windows are broken. I waited anther 3 hours for them to "fix" my window so that I could leave. The window will not work at all now and will not close all the way. I missed half of a days work just to pick up my cat that they didn't do any with except break it more than it was when I dropped it off. It was absolutely ridiculous.

These guys were absolute lifesavers. If you ever have automotive issues on Interstate 10 or 75 and say 40 miles from Lake City, these are the guys you want. I spent 5 hours on I-10 waiting for AAA to arrive. When they said it might not be until the next morning, I immediately called Jim's Auto and Towing service. The flatbed showed up 45 minutes later and the driver took great care to not so much even nudge my front bumper. Pretty soon, I was dropped off outside the gate in front of their shop late at night where I slept in the van and waited for the shop to open in the next morning. The shop has by far the largest waiting room I've ever seen at an automotive shop - very comfortable to be there and wait. Although they were very busy, they really worked hard to get me back on the road. Jim came out everytime when they found a little more information and was giving me frequent updates. In the end it was him who took it out for a test drive to make sure it was roadworthy again. A few hours later, I was good to go, and I made it back to South Florida that evening. AAA also sent me a reimbursement check, so even if you do have AAA just call them and get reimbursed later. I saw a lot of horror stories in these reviews about people waiting on the side of the road in this region for hours- not something you want to do in the Florida heat. The shop itself is AAA approved and you will get 10% off the labor up to a savings of $50 if you just show them your card.) Honest, trustworthy, and extremely competent is this shop. Thanks again, guys - you are awesome!

My car broke down near here and after a 3 hour wait by AAA, I was towed to this place. It was a Friday and parts did not come into till Monday, so I had to stay in hotel for 4 days! This repair shop knew that and the owner, whom I spoke with on Friday stated that they would get the car done as fast as they could, since I was traveling. But, on Monday, I called to see if it was ready around 11 am, and was told that the shop manager had gone to lunch and had not made out my invoice. When picking up the car around 1:30 pm, after hotel graciously extended my room checkout, I saw that the invoice had the time on it at 11 am. They let me sit at hotel for an extra 2.5 hours, which put me in my destination around midnight!! They almost incurred me to pay for another night at hotel, delayed my arrival at destination and they were very much aware of all this, but didn't seem to care. I also see that they will deliver your car, but they never offered this to me and I ended up paying a hefty taxi fee to vet car!!!!

I had the fortune to end up at Jim’s when my truck broke down while I was heading home to North Carolina. There is nothing fancy about the place, which to my mind makes it perfect. Angela and Greg took their time making sure all my questions were answered and it quickly became obvious that Greg had done the repair countless times. The resident guard dog came by to let me pet him and he was a 100% purebred “goodboy”! After we got done talking and making plans for the repair I mentioned that I was going to call an Uber but they wouldn’t hear of it. So, I had the distinct pleasure of catching a ride to my hotel with the man himself - Jim! Jim was the very embodiment of the American way, and it was an honor to listen to his story for the few minutes it took to get to my hotel. After the stress of breaking down in a strange city, the ordeal of getting a tow truck and being separated from family everything is awful. But I left Jim’s Auto Service with a confident feeling and a renewed love of hard-working American men and women. I wish I were more eloquent so I could say all of this better. Just… give these people your business and remember it’s not their fault your car broke down and parts aren’t cheap.

Our car broke down while heading home to Michigan and our AAA tow driver suggest Jim's Auto Service and said we could trust they would do a great job. We debated between the dealership or Jim's and decided on Jim's. We had major engine problems, but they were able to get us back on the road within 3 days. The gal out front kept in touch with us once or twice a day, knowing we had to stay in a hotel and we were anxious. I would have all my vehicles worked if I lived in Lake City. Thanks to everyone who got us back on the road at the beginning of March, 2023.

Jim is outstanding! We were on the way home from Jacksonville to Warner Robins, GA on a Sunday afternoon. Our Class-A RV started smoking and powering steering gave out. A serpentine belt had broken. I googled towing places that provide auto repairs and Jim’s Automotive had great reviews, so we gave them a try. We were more than pleased with the service we got. They towed us to the shop where we stayed overnight in our RV. The next morning, Jim replaced the belt and we were on the road, back to Georgia. Jim is professional, honest and I would definitely use his shop again and recommend him to anyone.

Jim is a very helpful, knowledgeable, and great to hire for ANY car problems you may have. Office staff is extremely personable, professional, and sympathetic to everyone's particular situation and works things out to each party's satisfaction. I would recommend this place over & over. This place is awesome! The short version is that Chuck and the rest of the people at Jim's Auto took great care of me and my truck even though they knew I didn't live in the area, and would not be a repeat customer for that reason. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was able to finish my planned trip, and have my truck back to get back home. The long version: I broke down on I-75 on my way up to Georgia. The tow truck driver that I called recommended that we take my truck to Jim's Auto Service (I noticed one reviewer complained that Jim's charged $4 per mile to tow over the miles covered by insurance.... the tow company I called charged $5 per mile...). They were very busy, but said they would try to get the truck fixed that afternoon and get me back on the road. I decided to rent a car to finish my trip, and just come back to pick up my truck the next day on my way back home. Chuck, at Jim's Auto gave me the number for Enterprise (who came and picked me up), and he even offered to drive over to Enterprise the next day to pick me up (since Enterprise requires you to return the car to the actual rental office). Later that day, after I arrived in Georgia, I got a call from Chuck with a quote to fix my alternator. It sounded like a reasonable price, and I ok'd the repair. The next day I returned to pick up my truck, and not only was it working perfectly, but the actual cost was $100 less than what I had been quoted. I can't say enough good things about this place. Chuck should give training sessions on customer service to other businesses.

Jim's was called to change my trailer blowout and did a fantastic job. Our tech Nick was polite, well spoken, and fast. Arrived a full 30 minutes before estimate! I hope you never have a problem, but if you do, top notch all around. Oh and did I mention reasonably priced? ;-)
