Was in need of a replacement engine for an 8th gen Civic SI and opted to go for a K24 swap. I talked with the owner and made the trip from Middle TN on an icy Saturday and he made sure someone was there who quickly loaded my K24 up and had us on our way. With these import engines the mileage is basically a mystery but mine definitely looked low mileage internally. Car is up and running with loads of miles ahead of it again and couldnt be happier. If youre looking for a K24 give these guys a call.
DO NOT TRUST JDM Motor. If I could give zero stars, I would. They failed to pay their freight charges, which means I ended up having to deal with the freight company directly or risk being sued. The company even sent me the wrong engine initially, though they eventually sent the correct one.
What made things worse was how unhelpful Omar was on the phone. When I raised the unpaid freight issue, he told me to just “ignore” the debt collectors. That’s incredibly unprofessional and sketchy advice.
I contacted the freight company myself, and they confirmed JDM Motor did not pay the invoice. Even if Omar claims they did, it’s JDM Motor’s responsibility to make sure this serious issue is resolved not to tell customers to ignore it.
Now before Omar comments on how i was disrespectful, just know that I was respectful at first, but after being put at risk of legal action over $700 that JDM Motor owes, frustration understandably set in. If you don’t want to deal with unprofessional service, wrong shipments, and unpaid freight problems, look elsewhere.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company sent us the wrong engine, then failed to cover the shipping costs to return it and send the correct one. Now I am being contacted by a debt collector because the freight charges were never paid. When I called the business, they refused to take responsibility and told us to “ignore” the debt collectors. They also would not provide any documentation confirming that we do not owe anything.
Because they insisted it was “not their problem,” I had no choice but to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to protect myself from an invalid debt.
To make matters worse, the person who answered the phone became rude, swore at us, and hung up. This has been an unprofessional and stressful experience from start to finish.
Hi everyone! I just want to share my recent experience with JDM Motors in Memphis. I purchased an 3.5 Nissan engine, they told me that the engine has 55 to 75K, at the time One of my friends was close to that area so I did send her to pick it up for me, when I was ready to install the engine and still under the warranty, I pull the valve covers out to see the condition inside. and found some slugged and discoloration, (engine was not showing the mileage that they said), send picture to Omar, and he said just install the engine and is going to be ok, long story short.
put the engine back on and the car smoke like a crazy, by the time I finish the vehicle the warranty was expire for few day, but remember that I contact Omar, before I install the engine.
I call him back send him a video. He said I will contact my boss because is above my decision, and try to call him every week during two and half month after that, keep hearing the same answer my "boss has not reply and is above my decision".
finally I lost my patience, and after two and half months he was refuse to replace the engine. basically I flush over 2000 dollars on the toilet. I'm writing my experience to help others. last time to do business with this guys. and I give one start because I can't do minus 5 stars.
Ordered a 6 port manual rx8 engine. Website and employee both said that compression passes inspection, and compression on the engine received was good (see pictured).
Transport company was great, and the engine was wrapped/tied down very well.
One star removed as I did not receive the engine that was pictured; the one I did receive was significantly more dirty. I also did not get tracking information for the shipment and only got an email and call when it was already out for delivery.
Great service, they stand behind their warranty. Excellent price for a ready to install complete motor and transmission. Engine sounds and runs amazingly, transmission shifts very smoothly. Will be heading back to Memphis soon to purchase a second one. Thank you JDM Memphis for helping me to fix my car. Just put in my daughters new engine. Just wanted to add to my old review. Thank you Omar, Gallatin loves you. Both motors are running strong and no leaks. Thank you Omar for keeping our Coupes on the road. See ya soon, still have one more coupe to swap out.

I purchased a Honda 2.4 JDM engine for my 2005 Accord. The engine was very clean which allowed for a thorough inspection before purchasing. The people were very helpful and explained what parts would need to be swapped with original parts from my US engine. Everything went great with the engine swap and I’ve been driving it for over 2 weeks now. No oil leaks and the engines runs smooth and strong. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an affordable price and great service.
On July 7, 2025 I purchased a Mazda 6 engine through Omar @ Tennessee JDM motors and was impressed by his service. I drove down and picked it up myself and it was clean and appeared to be in great shape. Upon delivery to my mechanic he had it installed in 2 days since it was plug and go
Omar did express how tariffs are affecting his prices. He is providing great products and I hope he can stay in business.

At 225K mileage my 2003 Honda Element developed a leaking head gasket. Dealership wanted $3000 to fix. JDM engine cost around $850 and roughly the same to install. My Honda is back on the road again and the the engine runs so smoothly now. I really appreciate the work they did, how quickly they did it (three days), and how friendly they were entertaining any questions I had. Getting back out on the road for less than $2000 with a brand with a new JDM engine is a fantastic deal. I anticipate and hope it’ll last another 200,000 miles. Thanks guys.
I had my work done at Tennessee JDM Motors in Memphis on Homewood Road. There is apparently another building nearby on E. Brooks Rd. according to a business card I have, but I only dealt with the Homewood Road location.

I had a great experience, I picked up a JDM K24a. I brought it home checked it over and swapped the jdm parts for usdm for my TSX. I received CLEAN MOTOR. It runs great.
Bought nissan versa engine from them and it had a blown head gasket from the jump. It would barely run and idle terribly before cutting out completely. Called to see bout warranty exchange and he insisted I had a bad catalytic converter. Buyer beware, they will not honor the warranty. This place sucks

I bought them on ebay, a transmission for a nissan versa, they sent it to me badly, in my complaints they gave me a thousand excuses and in the end they agreed to change it but that I covered the shipping, return, the purchase covered free return by default and shipping from Georgia costs me 480 dollars plus taxes, practically it is better to vote for it because they are going to send me another bad one. I lost the money from the purchase of materials and labor
Earlier this year I bought a vq35de engine for my 350z. Upon receiving the engine it was I noticed there was oil leaking from both the front main seal, and the the valve covers. It also appeared that someone had taken off the timing covers and put them back on with orange gasket maker. I reached out to JDM Tennessee and they assured me that was normal, and that they coat the engine with oil to prevent rusting. I still replaced both the front main seal, and the valve covers just to be safe. After that I had the engine swapped into my car, only to find that it burns oil! It goes through about 2-3 quarts of oil every 1000k miles. Aside from that the engine does appear to run fine, that is the reason for 2 stars.
If you look up quality in the dictionary you will find Omar's name under the definition. He is very professional and sells quality engines & transmissions. I purchased a 2zz-ge engine two years ago and it has run flawlessly. The cams were still silver in color and had no wear when I took the valve cover off to see the inside. I've recently purchased a transmission as well and it shifts smoothly and has given me no issues. I will be doing business with JDM memphis again in the future and recommend you should too if you need an engine for your japanese cars.
The wife's Subaru Tribeca needed a new H6 motor and after a day of searching and investigating I decided to go with these guys.

This place had the best price I could find on the JDM K24A high compression engine that I needed for my K swap. I bought mine for $850 while all the online sellers wanted more than that plus shipping. The engine is very clean inside and has almost no wear, so it either doesn't have many miles or was taken care of extremely well. The man who helped me was very friendly and helpful and loaded the engine onto my trailer for me. The only reason I can not give this place 5 stars is because the engine I bought had badly rusty camshafts and the man I talked to kept insisting that slight rust is normal because the engine has been sitting and it will run okay despite me telling him several times that I know what I am looking at and the rust is abnormally bad. I offered to send him pictures, but he didn't want them. He asked me how I know that the cams are rusty, so I told him that I took the valve cover off to adjust the valves before I installed it to make sure the adjustment was correct, which is Honda specified maintenance. His response was "What you are telling me is you voided your warranty. You aren't supposed to take the engine apart.". The receipt says nothing about this under their warranty policy and by his logic changing the oil also would void the warranty since it is also Honda specified maintenance. However, after arguing with him for a few minutes, he did eventually offer to take the camshafts to a machine shop to have them cleaned up and they are now in good condition and I can use them, so he did eventually honor his warranty even though it took a little arguing.
JDM Tennessee is a company that truly acts with their customers in mind and this is hard to come buy in today's modern society. When my engine arrived I immediately noticed it's pristine condition. I was so excited to get it put in my car, so I could quit paying for my rental. However, the wrong engine was ordered! I was so stressed and worried as to what I would do. I was scared that I wasn't going to be able to return the engine, but I called JDM Tennessee and they were understanding of my situation. They explained to me what they would do to help me and even tried to help me find the right engine! Their customer service is "EXTRAORDINARY"! It saddens me that the engine was not correct because it would have been amazing to support a business like JDM Tennessee!
I bought an engine from them 2 months ago. It arrived in very poor condition I called and spoke with a guy named Jason. He arranged to have the first motor picked up and sent out a very clean and nice one to replace the first one with. I was pretty upset at first but Jason made everything right. I work in the automotive industry as well and understand that sometimes things go wrong. Tennessee JDM are honest and will do what it takes to make their customers happy.
Very nice sales guy..the engine was here within two days and had installed a day later engine fired right up and has ran 350 miles like a sewing machine with no issues .with all the Altima pre cat failures this engine is a great budget friendly option...but remember to change flywheel the intake and thermostat housing. I used they power steering pump that was on the new engine with no issues (looked way better than my old one) but all in all this was a great experience and look forward to doing more business in the near future!

You can actually talk to them on the phone, they are very honest and very down to earth. They will do what it takes to satisfy their customers.
I recently purchased an engine and transmission combination from JDM Tennessee at a very reasonable price. The engine and transmission were in great condition, far better than others I have seen on EBay. The employee that helped me was very kind and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions and even offered further assistance after I bought the engine and transmission. He also tied the engine up nicely to a pallet, wrapped it neatly, and loaded it into our truck. In addition to that, I ran into an issue(not related to the engine and transmission) after buying the engine and had to return it. They were very understanding and I was able to return it with no problem. I definitely recommend them for your JDM needs.

Last week, I bought a low-mileage engine for my Nissan Sentra 2005 from the JDM Memphis, Tennessee, and it was really a very good engine, and even it was better than the description and pictures on the website. There was a discount on the engine, so the price was affordable. In addition, the guy on the front desk, Jason Jon, was very helpful and very quick in responding to my needs. He also helped me to load the engine to my personal car.
