I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BODY SHOP. Update (GO TO EZ AUTOBODY ASK FOR EDDY, he will take care of you) This place is very fast when they hear insurance is paying but when its mistakes from their own irresponsibility they don’t care. My uncle had our car body work done here, and coincidently a year later my headlight stops working. Bad installation, bad parts, etc. i called and explained my situation my uncle who brought in the car had passed away since, front desk (TERESA) extremely rude about did not give two cent about it and kept pushing me to call my insurance rather than help. I called back 3 times DOES NOT PICK UP. I later on contacted the manager here (John Mcclintock) told him what was going on and he said he would help (gave me false hope) it is now 3 weeks later with NO RESPONSE. I even sent in two follow up emails. I waited 3 whole weeks to right this review. I feel more safe getting their poor job done somewhere else. I DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Save yourself the trouble, go to Top Gun they will take care of you regardless of situation.

I came into this shop back when it was Modern Auto Body in 2020 and got a bumper replaced for roughly $500. 6 years later I come in for the same thing, now under new ownership and get quoted double the price. I felt the quote was exaggerated for labor. The process for a bumper replacement is paint the new one, remove the old one with power tools and mount the new one with power tools. Without accounting for paint drying, this takes about an hour. 2hrs if you need to mix paint perhaps. I even requested the bumper be replaced without painting and was told that isn't an option. I ended up getting the bumper replaced and painted elsewhere for $575. On a positive note, the customer service was excellent! I was greeted at the receptionist desk and I received fast curteous service. No complaints with customer service.

Having issues with them fixing my vehicle. Their hours of operations on Google are also not accurate. I made the trip to only find out that they are closed on weekends after it showed that they were open

Not only did they do a phenomenal job fixing my car, but they kept me updated and they were extremely kind and just overall amazing! Thank you so much Arthur and John for all the work you guys did and the kindness that you showed. Also thank you for doing all you could to retrieve my car when my own insurance company couldn’t. What an experience! Went with my son to get an estimate for his car because someone backed into his car. Both of their estimators were busy so the GM offered to help us. He completed the estimate and went over it line by line with us so we understood the process. He explained everything thoroughly and we felt comfortable with the estimate. Needless to say, based on that experience I will have all my repairs done with Crash Champions. He made us feel comfortable and at ease with the process. Highly recommend!

I went in to have a dented rear bumper looked at and estimated. The service advisor was very professional and stated that he would have his immediate manager look at it and asked me to take a seat inside and he would write up an estimate. The next thing I noticed was my car being backed into the service bay ! To my delight Ronin , the technician had the dent repaired by the time I got to see the car !! What an incredible experience, John , the GM , stated to “me No Cost sir, you are a valued repeat customer and we want to thank you for your past business “ I could not believe this excellent service and professional work! I HIGHLY recommend seeing them , they will take excellent care of you from the front desk to the technician, advisor experience! I normally don’t do many reviews but this is an exception! (Update - A year after this took place the new General Manager called me to apologize for this experience - he was very genuine - they even refunded the 400$ storage fee I was hit with - yes a year after the fact. ) Often our reviews are based on experience with people - seems as though adults are back in charge at Crash Champions and while I hope never to need them again, if I do, actions like this would warrant me giving them another shot. - Thank you!!!). Brad Vehicle towed in for undercarriage tie rod and control arm damage. Customer pay claim - shop was very high and chose to remove out. Shop wouldn’t release without a 600$ payment for sitting 3 1/2 days 400$ storage 100 admin fee and 100$ to remove wheel locks and put on a lift (which I had no issue paying). When came to get vehicle the wheel and tire was not put back on (they claimed it wouldn’t) I said a spare would fit to get in on the flat bed. Refused to provide a larger jack and just wouldn’t acknowledge me after saying nothing they can do tech is done. had to put on spare while it was hanging in the air from the tow truck. Had two major repairs done when this shop was Modern AB - and was planning on returning here to have repair done on another vehicle. Beware if you aren’t going through insurance they will price hike you they made 600$ for about 15 minutes of work. I’ve been in the auto industry 30+ years - customer use at your own risk there are plenty of other good shops in Frederick to do business with. Attached are before photo of how they left the vehicle and had to place spare on myself while they sat in the shop. The 4.7 is deceiving most of these reviews are before modern auto body changed to crash champions, I had two vehicles previously fixed with modern and the service was fantastic. They still have retained the same front desk person who is very polite and professional, but as far as the rest of the experience goes, beware. 4 reviews since the change 2 of them 1 star. 🤔

These people are a nightmare to work with. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate, and when I showed up at the scheduled time, was turned away because "he isn't here today." I was told someone was supposed to tell me and never did. Okay, no big deal. They say they'll follow up to reschedule. That never happened. Each time I call, they "transfer" me to the scheduler, which is 15 minutes of hold music and then a hang-up. Voicemails left, no return. I was quite literally the easiest sale they'd ever make (insurance money in hand), and they still couldn't pull it off.

I used them as modern auto body (before it was bought by crash champions). I took my car in 2 months ago for a $2000 repair. 2 months! They do not return phone calls, screen your calls and do not answer, they also do not have voicemails set up. I’ve had to threaten legal action. I was told my car would be ready today. I went to pick it up and I was told it needs calibration so it’s not ready. But you said it was finally ready and now it isn’t??? Great I just returned the rental I’ve had for 2 months! AWFUL! Do not use. They have also cycled through staff. No one who was originally there, is in the shop from when I dropped it off 2 months ago.

Side mirror was hit in the middle of night and came here to get an estimate. Had been here a year ago or so before staff changes. Ended up going with a local, quality body shop that charged us $523 less for the same job. We were quoted $1059 by Crash Champions (former Modern Auto Body) for parts, labor, and a pre/post scan ($370) to have the mirror be replaced. This is higher than we expected. They quoted us 90 minutes at $75/hr for labor, and 48 minutes at $75/hr for paint. We ended up getting other estimates. A local Hyundai dealership who does body work quoted us just under $800 and felt bad about the high cost when he told us. We ended up choosing local body shop who quoted us $536. Said the job would take 30 minutes all together.

I had a terrible experience with Crash Champions Auto Body Shop and cannot recommend their services. For what should have been a quick repair for minor damage, they took an excessively long time and repeatedly lied about the completion dates. They even blamed my insurance for being unresponsive, but it turned out they never submitted the necessary requests. When my insurance company reached out to them directly to resolve the issue, Crash Champions staff became upset rather than taking responsibility for their mistakes. When I finally picked up my car, the work was riddled with imperfections that I had to point out and have redone. Their lack of cleanliness was also unacceptable—my car wasn’t returned in good condition, and I discovered they had used my car’s tools during the repair process without asking. The lack of professionalism, poor communication, and failure to take responsibility made this an incredibly frustrating experience. I strongly advise against using this shop for your auto repair needs.

BEWARE: David, the owner, is a liar and forced his employee to lie to me about work done to my car. From the beginning: Got into a minor accident that just left a crack on my bumper. My insurance recommended Modern Auto Body as their "preferred" shop so I went there for the repairs. Called me when my car was done (which took twice as long as they estimated) and I said Id pick up the next morning. Get there only to find out they weren't sure if a vendor completed a task so they had to call the vendor back out and will take 1-2 hours. meaning I could not take my car. I have my 3 yr old with me so this was inconvenient but ok, took my rental and went shopping to kill time. Come back 2 hours later, take my car home to find MOUSE DROPPING INSIDE MY CAR. My entire console was covered and inside the glove box. (Pictures attached) This is disgusting! How could they return a car to me with mouse droppings all over? I can understand that living near wooded areas may bring mice however how they handled it is awful. I call them to let them know what I found and receive hesitation about what "they can do for me". I was initially told they can vacuum it out. I said thats not enough. I will not drive my child around in a car with mouse droppings in the ventilation system potentially bc how else would they get in? I wanted 3 things, the car vacuumed and sanitized, the ventilation system and engine checked for damage and droppings and new cabin filter. Too much too ask? This is a 6 month old new car worth $60k. I did not trust my car in their care to have it returned with droppings from vermin inside. If you got this far, keep going. The good stuff is below. What happened next is shocking. I took the car back the same day after 2-3 phone calls back and forth, to be met with hesitation even though they told me to come back. I was told they checked everywhere for my filter and no one has it in stock so they cant do that. They are also waiting for the adjustor to "approve it". I asked approve what? My insurance is to pay for something that happened on the auto body shops property and for a $40 filter? Ridiculous! Tim tells me to wait while he takes it to the detailers to clean. 30 mins later or so comes back out to tell me "surprise, David ordered a filter and didn't tell me" so we were able to replace that. I was definitely hesitant to believe that bc Tim was initially adamant that there were no filters in stock but David managed to get one delivered in 30 mins? Tim takes me out to show me how they cleaned up the car and "on scouts honor" they replaced the cabin filter and checked the engine and found no further issues. I said ok, cool, but I would like my old filter back. Tim pulled out his phone to show me a picture. I said no, I want my old filter please. He said ok and went back to get it while I waited in my drivers seat. When Tim came back WITH David, empty handed, I knew they lied. David aggressively opens my passenger good and pulls the glove box open while having a massive attitude saying "If you want to go dig through the dumpster you can but were not" and offered to show me the filter in my car. I asked why he has a massive attitude and raising his voice when I have been super understanding even though it was my third time there today and he starts yelling again. I told him to get out of my car. Hind site, I wish I would have let him rip the filter out but I was not going to let him yell at me. He slammed the door and told Tim he is not allowed to talk to me anymore and they both started to walk away so I got out of my car and yelled across the car to let them know I know they are liars and Tim even said "scouts honor". Tim did turn around when I asked him if he lied to my face and told me he is just the messenger. So to my understanding, David told him to lie. Thats when David charged back at me with a waving finger in my face yelling at me (im a 5'2 small female in a parking lot with two men). My husband removed the "new filter" when I got home to find dirt and debris in it so clearly they lied. Pics attached. BEWARE!!

Modern Auto Body was super helpful and great to work with. We had to have some deer damage repaired and it looks like nothing happened. They were also quick and easily worked with our insurance.

I want to say what an amazing job your team did. Not only did the car look amazing but just the way your team facilitated everything was above and beyond. I run my own cleaning business & am a one man show at the moment, so I really appreciated that your office spoke directly to the insurance company, not requiring me to be the middleman when my time is already so limited. You all communicated so well everything while still keeping me in the loop. As a busy person, I really appreciated that & your customer service. I just wanted to take the time to say this. Thank you & have a wonderful year!

I’ve been using Modern Auto Body for almost 20 years. They are definitely my “go to” for body work. The several times I’ve used them, the work was performed flawlessly. The staff are professional, kind and courteous. They are always willing to help with insurance issues on my behalf. Highly recommend them.

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. I repeat, DO NOT USE MODERN AUTO BODY UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOSE MONEY. I am truly upset about how my insurance claim was handled here at Modern Auto Body. My truck got pretty banged up and needed the side body panel replaced as well as the right mirror and tail light. To get the vehicle legally drivable, I gave the go ahead to get the right mirror and tail light replaced. After speaking with Tori, I was informed that the right side panel would take about 5-6 months to get in. As I did not have the time to wait, I decided and told Tori I would be selling the vehicle. I sold the vehicle about a week later and was told the following week that the parts for the vehicle had arrived. The parts included the right side panel, which I gave the okay to get on the waitlist at least (#111 place in line), a bumper and a wheel liner (both of which I did not give approval for). I spoke with my agent who told me the shop would work on getting those items returned and there might be a small restock fee. Fine, no problem there. After waiting 3 weeks to hear anything back from the shop, I got informed today that the parts that had arrived were not returnable (30 day return period) and that this would count against my claim. How convenient. The shop took there sweet time, wasted 21 days of time and now the parts are not returnable. Not to mention, I called my agent 20+ times over the course of those 3 weeks to get updates & to make sure they were on it. So now what. I get the luxury of taking a $600.00 loss because Modern Auto Body was complacent and clearly did not care. Extremely disappointed and will not be using this company again. If you don't want to lose money, don't use Modern Auto Body. This entire experience dragged on for over a month for a stupid claim, and their lack of initiative cost me.

David and the team at Modern Auto Body were amazing with the utmost professionalism and communication. The frequent updates on status related to my vehicles progress was amazing. The work completed on my vehicle was flawless. Looks great. I could never tell the scratch ever occurred. They even performed a custom install of my rear hitch cover. I would definitely recommend this team to anybody. You come in and leave feeling like family.

After an auto accident, I started out with a shop that was closer to my home. This particular shop was late for our appointments and led me to believe that repair to my vehicle would have the paint looking different because it is a pearl color (my vehicle is a Toyota Prius in Windchill Pearl). Luckily, I continued to look and found MAB based on a recommendation. They have helpful, friendly, fast service, were respectful of my time and my vehicle, and I am beyond satisfied with their repair work. I worked with Chris who was wonderfully communicative and willing to answer all of my questions, and he had my car completed earlier than estimated, too! I am writing this review about a month after service and the repair continues to hold up exceptionally. Thank you for the great work and care!

After recently having our Chevy HHR involved in a collision, I took it to Modern Auto Body for the repair work. This included needing a new hood, bumper cover, fender, and lights. I could not have been happier with the very high-quality work performed and excellent customer service provided by everyone from the moment I called to make an appointment through the time I picked up the repaired car. A big shout out to Chris, who has exceptional customer service skills and did a wonderful job keeping us in the loop each step of the way. I am very happy with the repair and highly recommend Modern Auto Body.

Great service - expert knowledge, friendly staff, excellent communications, rapid results, and reasonable and competitive pricing. I needed a new headlight assembly and the associated electronics for my older car (2006 Toyota Avalon) and MAB took great care of me. I particularly appreciated the candid and expert knowledge and advice the team provided in assisting me with the safest and most cost effective solution. Safety was their first and most important priority. MAB will always be my first choice in the future - absolutely top notch. I unreservedly recommend Modern Auto Body.

Shawn and the Modern Auto Body Team did great work restoring my truck after someone hit its side. The work shows quality, it is evident that they cared for my truck while it was there, and they were on time with their prediction for work completion. I entered their doors at first for a basic estimate, as I shopped multiple body shops to see how they interacted with me and where I wanted to go. Shawn gave me confidence that Modern Auto Body was the right choice. He made a point of taking a detailed look at my doors, evaluated all potential needs for repair, and provided a thorough estimate...even catching problems that other shops missed (I didn't share their quotes). When it came time to proceed, I was confident that Shawn was going to...and did...advocate for correct repairs, even going back to the insurance adjusters for multiple corrections to their estimates. I don't have to get much body work, but Shawn made it seem so easy and simplified the process. He kept me in the loop, updating me often, and was responsive to any questions I had, usually within the hour. Also, Theresa provides pleasant greetings, is helpful and communicates well to support their team. Between Shawn and Theresa, they even helped me coordinate with my rental car. After comparing with other shops and what they included in their initial estimates, I'm glad I went to Modern Auto Body, because I'm sure that the job was done right.

Place did a fantastic job on my 2018 Honda Accord, the fit and finish turned out spot on. I only had to bring it back in once for a seal that was leaking a bit of air (had the driver door and fender repaired). No fuss or anything and they had it back out same day.

I have had work done on my car twice (from two separate accidents) at Modern Auto Body and I am beyond pleased with both of my experiences! I used to take the recommendation from the insurance company on where to have my repairs done and I would always have to take it back because it wasn't done completely. Since I've used Modern the last 2 times, I have had zero issues! They're attention to detail is great! And everyone I spoke with on the phone is super nice! I highly recommend Modern Auto Body for all body work needs!
