This place sucks, my friend who has no car only an electric bike wanted to scrap 4 rims he had, so I took the rims to city bark in my car, he rode his electric bike, and they wouldn't let him get the money cause he didnt bring them in the car I did, and I couldn't because I had lost my wallet a week before and didnt have an id. Plus I originally didnt even want to drive my car through the place cause I always get a nail in my tire going to those places and they wouldn't even let us walk up to the scale with the rims in hand. MADE me drive though the place. Crazy. Ill never go there again.

I was happy to find out that you can dispose of up to 4 yds of yard debris/ concrete per month. I appreciate businesses that help/recognize veterans! Only downside is the entrance is a little tight, but well worth it. Kudos to City Bark!!

Great place for all your gardening needs with a very helpful and friendly staff ?

I always have a pleasant encounter with City Bark and Recycling! I had a very smooth and easy experience. The delivery driver Robert delivered 3-way to my home and he was so kind. The young lady in the front that took my order was absolutely an angel!

I’ve been dumping chips here for years and yesterday I had 4rds to dump prior to next project. They wanted $40 per yrd!!!!! That’s just crazy talk. Went to H&H and it’s $18 per yrd. H&H people are way more professional and attitudes are great! The girl in City Bark office with Ring in her nose was not very pleasant? My thoughts

Today the line taking alot of time ..im just saying if people have to fill out paperwork or anything else they should just pay for they trash and move to the side so other drivers can do through........

I've been coming here for years, buying and dropping for various projects. I had a load of dirt to drop, and they had notified me earlier (during one of three prior trips) that I should make sure there weren't any ground coverings (weed blocks). I went through each, however, I'm not perfect and I missed a small bit. Instead of having someone inspect while we dumped, and have us remove it, which would be a sensible thing. Or maybe even just charged us more, if more was found, they said, "We have to send you on your way. I saw that one scrap which you just pulled out." The implication is clear - "You are a liar who filled your load with this material. Go away." Fine by me. Turns out there are other places in town that charge half the dump rate and aren't trying to find a way make life difficult. Cheers.

Yeah two times I've taken metal to City bark and both times they've closed early at about 20 to 5:00 when their website says they open till 5:00 really inconvenient when you have a load of scrap to take in and you're expecting them to be open till 5:00 and they tell you they're closed at 4:40 they should post that on their website that they're closed at 4:40 not 5:00 terrible terrible customer service

Dont waste your time at the metal recycle go anywhere else .. the guy that runs it should never deal with people period . Consistent jerk to be kind not just a bad day ..shur way is better place to dump debris for less also. I appreciate what they do for vets here and cant say anything about the rest of the employees ect . Im not a tweeker or a regular scrapper but treated like trash everytime ?

Best place for dry session firewood! Seeing we had a year of no burning. Pre,split

The women in the office have always been rude, lazy, and treat you as if your business is a bother to them. I could look past that if their disposal rates were more reasonable. Furthermore, they will grossly over “guess” how much material you are dumping so they can charge you whatever they want for it. I don’t think they understand how to calculate volume, so they won’t even bother trying to measure. They tried to charge me $128 to dump, went to Gro instead and paid $40.

I ordered 10 1/2 yards of organic plus. Great Quality for an Honest price. The driver, Chris did an amazing job.10/10 ?? He took his time make sure we were able to get it to garden area safely and correctly. Would highly recommended this company.

Every kind of soil, bark dust, rock, and sand available here. Yard debris, leaves, and construction material is accepted to be recycled. Although I believe the price is higher than other available businesses. Metals of all types can be recycled for cash back to you here. Steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper, tin, and batteries can be brought in and weighed for cash today at fair market value. Just check other local Recyclers for better prices as it might be very much worth your consideration.

Due to the extra costs incurred, we recently had to discontinue service for 2 or our 3 yard waste bins. After looking around for a less expensive way to drop off our yard debris, we came across this establishment and saw that they allow vets to drop off yard debris for free. During these hard times, you don't know how much it means to have something given for free without strings. Hard to come by anymore. Thank you! And GO NAVY!

Don't buy river rock here. I made the mistake of buying a yard of it, as they are only 5 minutes from the house.. The river rock turned out to be a 50/50 blend of rock and pea gravel. Called and explained the situation to CS- guy responded with a 'what's your question' remark... Its like I was being a bother to his operation...

I believe that there's good in all things, with the understanding that sometimes you have to look for it. I think it's a great place conceptually. I believe that City Bark and its employees are environmentally conscious. As far as mother earth goes, City Bark has a positive impact, and if that's what you care about then this is the place for you. I had never been there before and had some questions. Now, technically my questions were answered but not to the degree I feel they could have been, and should have been answered. No one gets a second chance to make a first impression so a) Be kind b) Be harmless (Not helpfil) Written or implied, to me there's no difference. It's really is easy to 99.9% of the time put on a happy face. Anyone who's ever worked in customer service knows that being kind and harmless is in the job description, and if you cannot be both of those, you're in the wrong line of work. The following is what I experienced personally at City Bark and Recycling It was Friday afternoon and their hours of operation were listed as 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. I arrived at 4:40. I hate showing up to any business that close to closing time, but on that particular day it unavoidable. I waited in line outside for 10 minutes and when it was my turn i went inside and our conversation went as follows: Me: do you folks recycle copper? Her: yes, but he closed at 4:45. Me: not 5:00? Her: no 4:45. we're open until 5:00 but he shuts down at 4:45. We know the wrong hours are posted and we requested that Google change it. Me: bummer, I guess that'll learn me to get here earlier. Are you open tomorrow Her: yep, 7:00 am Me : well then I guess I'll see you in the morning Her: yep NEXT MORNING 7:35 Me: how are you? Remember me? I'm here to recycle some copper. Her: i remember, but he doesn't start till 9:00. Me: WHAT!? Not 7? Her: no, 9:00 the rest of the place is open at 7 Needless to say the third trip out there really got to me especially with the price of fuel. She knew what I was looking to do and what i was there for. I would have advised me to come in the next day between the hours of 9:15 a.m. and 4:30 pm My recycling was finally processed after making three trips to their location. Much to my dismay I was handed a slip of paper then advised to go back to the same young lady behind the counter at the front office and give the slip of paper to her Now mind you the whole time I've been on this endeavor I've been expecting cash money, but what I got was a slip of paper to scan at an ATM machine (similar to that which you'd see and on the floor at any casino and use to cash out your winnings) that was located right there in their lobby. Did I mention that they charged me an ATM fee of $2? or on that particular Saturday, they paid 80 cents less per lb than anywhere else in town? to summarize i walked away from this ordeal with $23. $45 for the recycling - $2 for their house AT&T fee -$20 my fuel costs $23 grand total I walked away with If I had chosen ANY other outfit in town, I would have walked away with closer to $65

My delivery order today was excellent! Rick delivered it right on time and he was able to dump the soil and bark dust exactly where I requested even though it took a little extra effort. My previous experience with Rick's delivery service was just as awesome. I really appreciate the great customer service!! Thanks!

I've been going here since they opened, but reconsidering whether they are the best choice. They have generally been more expensive than their competition, but location is conveinient and customer service people have been nice. Today I had one of the loaders give me grief about my trailer and that if it spills mulch in the street who is going to pay for that. I totally understand the position that City Bark faces with this in regards to the city. It was just the person's approach to this that really rubbed me the wrong way, obviously no customer service skills I have never had issues with spilling anything. Yes my trailer is older, but if I were to spill something I clean up my mess.

Wonderful service from the gal that we checked in with. She recommended 2 yards instead of just one yard of bark and we're so thankful that she encouraged us to get more. She said most people always wish they had gotten a little bit more. The price was right and we were very happy with the bark which was a medium size.

I fully appreciate the honor this establishment bestows on its military veterans. For it's location, you will save a ton of money on mulch, rocks, bark, and dirt compared to the cost per bag at Home Depot. You just need a trailer or truck they can drop it into.

I’ve been several times to get 1/2 yard loads of bark chips, rocks and sand. Two loads small bark last week. I unloaded 8+ carts from the first trip. The next load, I had almost 5 carts. I loaded the same amount every time in each cart. This was my third load this year. I still need a lot more . Last year I only needed two truck loads.? Also lots of gravel in bark chips and too many shells and wood chunks in fill sand. The product samples inside office are much cleaner than what you purchase. Time to check out other businesses?

City bark is a great place but commonly misunderstood! They are big supporter of our nation's veterans. The allow them to dump for free all year long! The deal with a lot of people daily . The staff here is always really friendly and will help you the best way they can . I read a review about a guy coming in to get his bark that was "over a month old "but in reality the ticket was a year old so it was understandable that the staff turned him away . Also the Manger was pregnant. I can see why the staff were rolling their eyes at a man who only care about himself and threw a fit like a child.

Manager was rude and unwilling to help. I bought 3 yards of material this winter and nobody explained to me that there was a 30 day time limit on picking the material up. I came back a couple months later and tried to pick up some material, with my receipt, and I was laughed at by the little girl running the register. I asked to speak to the manager and she (the manager) acted like I was an inconvenience and wasting her time and was was unwilling to help. I was even told by the girl running the register that the manager would have to “walk down the stairs” to come see me as she was rolling her eyes. Any business that cares about their customers would not treat a return customer like this. They all acted like I was an inconvenience to them and like I was trying to steal dirt. I will never be returning to this place again. I recommend anybody reading this take your business over to Yard ‘n Garden Land or H&H for better customer service and quality of material. They were rude and willing to trade a lifelong customer for a truckload of dirt. I have spent thousands of dollars in this place and in the future they will not see a dime of my money, my friends and families money, or any business that I can talk to about my experience.

Always helpful and friendly with reasonable pricing and pay out for scrap is accurate and the guy that handles the scrap is super helpful and knows his stuff and not out to cheat ya! I like the new atm that pays out your tickets to redeem for cash also super user friendly and convenient and they have a good location and hours of operation are great for business. No masks were required but you still have the plexiglass between you and the office help! For those still wanting to be extra cautious! Ample parking as well!

This place is amazing and I don’t know why it has 3.7 stars. From the office lady (Jessica) and to our truck driver David who delivered our minus rock, they’re all so sweet. And what a plus that they’re all about supporting our veterans. We will be using them again and again in the future. Thank you city bark and thank you David for being such a pro at dropping loads off!! Makes our big projects a little less daunting!

"MISLEAD" AND PRICE GOUGED. I do not recommend taking anything except "green" (grass and leaves) to this place. I called multiple times before we came here to confirm prices to bring pine branches from freshly fallen trees and was told by multiple people that it would be $11 a yard (50% of the usually $22 due to a special) or $7 if it was just chips. When my husband arrived with around 6 yards of branches he was told something completely different and charged $157. I am leaving a 1 star review because when I called to speak to the manager about the discrepancy they simply told me that we were charged the correct price and we had been "mislead" into thinking it was going to cost the yard debris price. They made zero effort to account for the lack of training (managers job) and the fact that multiple people quoted us this price. They didn't apologize for their disorganized customer service, this place is profiting off of it so beware. Quoted price can't be trusted.

I did have an unpleasant experience once when we did not make a transaction. We got there and their doors were open. We went in a man told us they were close. Now i don’t mind turning around, your close, I understand. What I cant stand is the authority that you let off and tell us to turn around and go to Portland. Portland? Why would I waste gas and go to Portland. Instead of been humble and helpful his aura felt very macho like and unpleasant. Now when going in to purchase there is only young lady in the front that’s nice, they do have some variety and good price. Despite that horrible encounter the daily staff is way nicer. Be the judge for yourself.

Great customer service here. I went in to the office to look at the different materials they have for sale (gravel, sand, etc) and determined that crushed concrete was the way to go for my patio. The load arrived as scheduled but was composed of significantly larger pieces than were shown as samples in the office. I mentioned this to the delivery driver, Brent, who made a call, and City Bark & Recycling brought me an additional two yards of material that would work for my project, free of charge. I will definitely be coming back here in the future when I order more gravel, more wood chips, and more sand for my other projects. Thanks again guys.

I've been stopping in here and there recently getting sand, gravel, 3-way and mulch for a bunch of projects we have going on the yard. My experiences have been great! The woman at the desk is always nice, the price for yards and 1/2 yards is great and the product has been good as well. I'll always come here when I need yard materials.

Bought 20 yards of dark fine bark. Very courteous staff. The driver called ahead so I would have my spot ready. He placed it exactly where I needed it, no overflowing off tarps or on the gravel. Dark fines were a very nice clean product. I will use them again!
