What clients say about NAPA Auto Parts in Norfolk (VA)
Recently had the misfortune of going into this store. I am not an automotive expert and this is why I felt I should be able to trust an auto parts store with the name NAPA. My dad was a parts manager for Ford eons ago, so I trust the name NAPA.
I suppose I should correct myself. I did trust that name until the visit a couple of weeks ago. I went in needing a belt and a few other minor parts for small repairs. First of all the lack of attention by the 2 females that are SUPPOSED to have at least some idea of what you're talking about. One heavy set lady was constantly looking at her phone and the one with the glasses and nose piercing didn't seem to know anything.
The store seemed in disarray, and the lack of knowledge of the people that work in there had me take my business elsewhere. If you're going to have females or males working in an automotive store they should at least have some basic knowledge about what you're asking or the parts they sell.
And to that I must give credit where credit is due I thank ORiellys down the street for being able to quickly locate the parts I needed and to understand what my needs were. I shared the experience I had at your store and I was told by them that they were hearing the same thing from a lot of their customers
It's unfortunate that with the name like NAPA that has been around for over 50 years would have such low standards. I was surprised by the fact that you have not even something simple like a dress code or a uniform or a name tag. A name tag would be helpful so I could communicate a person's name to you. Your store needs better management and better employees .
Recently came here to get some brakes looking for my faithful parts man Peanut only to find out he passed away. Not only was Kyle rude to me and other customers about it but he was talking down on peanut. I find this unacceptable especially towards a person who passed away. I’ve followed peanut around and I’ve always got my auto parts from him or had him do some work to my car. I will no longer use this Napa if Kyle is there. For anyone reading this go see Earl at the other Napa. He’s really good and a nice guy. For the owner of this Napa I hope you educate your employees, particularly Kyle because it is very unprofessional and I will be making a phone call about him and this situation as well.
I hate to say this because the problem is so fixable....But nevertheless...Here we go.....
Went there to get some brake calipers. I spoke with a lady on the phone 15 mins prior to say I was on the way.
And when I showed up there were 2 lady's working, and I asked if the one who greeted me was the one I spoke with earlier. She said it wasn't her.. She was in training. Another kinda similar looking girl came over rather rudely assisted her in putting in my order.
Was told that they should be in by that wed...But would call me that Thursday to let me know they were in.
Cool.
I actually kinda forget about the order...But my tech had an opening that sat and wanted to squeeze me in. So I call and a lady says it's there. I said why didn't anyone call me? She just gets defensive and says I'm sorry.
Show up walk in and I see one of the lady's and a guy on the phone. Heavy set white looking girl with red hair. I ask her in a friendly tone...Hey...We're you the trainee. She says...I don't know...Am I? Very condensingly.
I said...I don't know...That's why I'm asking.
Her response...I don't know...Am I?
Now I realize she has a lot of attitude and I dont need this from a girl who looks like a young Rossanne Barr!
She does this 3 more times...Then the guy stepped in and helps after he gets off the phone.
No one called me and then I get attitude from this chic. SMH. I'd drive to another NAPA to get anything I need.
It's a nice store...and they do sell AMSOIL...But to have to deal with that ladys attitude because her Magic the Gathering game got cancelled is not worth my time.
Customer Service kills alot of good business...And its killing this NAPA!
Get rid of her...Or an apology...Or an attitude adjustment and I'll come back to this store.
Went in for a part which they said they had in stock. Guy who was there was super nice and helpful. Pulled the part out of the box(ball joint) and we compared it. Very helpful and knowledgeable. So much better than the competition I have been to in this area. I was treated like a human. It was refreshing.
I had a very good experience at NAPA Auto Parts Store located at 1307 E. Little Creek Drive this morning. After purchasing an engine air filter and windshield wiper blades from Kevin, who was very helpful, 'Peanut' snapped on the windshield wipers and replace the air filter in my car. I was very grateful for this service! I will most likely return to this NAPA Auto Parts Store for this excellent customer service.
Mr. John helped me out very effectively and good paced. Very friendly environment here. They’re honest and wouldn’t want to steer you wrong. Thank you again for helping me get my brake pads.
The service was great! The information on the parts that I got they were very familiar with it and gave me excellent advice. I will be returning to get more parts from the store when it's needed.
Love this place. I like being able to walk In a parts store and have the person helping me know a general idea of what I'm talking about. I have worked on cars as long as I can remember and have been to every parts store you can think of. You don't get the run around and the people here know what they are talking about.
Used to offer a discount to military and veterans on everything much like how Autozone and OReillys still do. Now it is only on select items. Shopped there today and ended up buying less than half of the items I went in for since they stopped having the discount. Will just go to Autozone first next time.

I went to purchase a wiper blade for my 1955 Packard Clipper Deluxe
The one they had would fit my car, but the design wouldn't match my other
one . David Lisa and Shaun took the time to retro fit the rubber to my existing blade. Lisa retro fitted the blade for me while David and Shaun assisted me in other areas. Thumbs up for the crew at this store. I will continue to be a loyal customer after this positive experience.
Very helpful staff, and I didn't feel like I was being talked down upon for being a woman, which can be common in auto shops. The covid measures were excellent and I was able to get in and get out quickly. Thanks Napa!
First time being in this store, very helpful. Tried to walk in and find what I needed, they saw I was lost of course. Assisted me by finding the part and ordering it for me.
I was amazed. Old people say shop around and is true. I am not saying everything they sell is cheaper than other stores but a lot thier stuff is in a reasonable price range.
I wish it was as easy as going on one website and seeing the prices for every thing from every auto parts store; sought of how it is with car insurance but is not like that with auto parts.
My catalytic converter had gone bad in my Pontiac G6. A lot of places sold both the front and back converters for a $1000 before taxes (direct fit). Then most of the mufler mechanic shops were going to charge between $550 to $750. The Pontiac dealership wanted $4300 for parts and labor.
I searched around and Napa Auto Parts had it cheapet than every store. This is the list of stores and prices:

Luckily enough I found a muffler shop willing to do the job for $160. Napa employees were nice and polite. The guy told me that the part had to be ordered and he took my number to call me the next day when the parts came in.
The part that I ordered online for in-store pickup was ready when I arrived. Two associates that I spoke with were friendly. The store looked clean and was well organized!
Super helpful and knowledgeable folks in here. I bought a 2 pack of blinker lightbulbs for $5 which they were able to verify as correct before I even bought them. They also recommended a healthier restoration kit that actually worked well. Shaun at Nappa was even nice enough to help me install new window wipers in addition to all the part verification/recommendation he did!
I needed help with a part and visited NAPA (east little creek road, Norfolk, Virginia) for a first class experience. A special shoutout to Lisa who went out of her way to help me solve a problem for my state inspection. She took the time to personally help me solve the problem. I've had good service before, but she gave me her business time to personally solve my car situation. My auto part angel. Thank you Lisa again, believe me I'll be back to spend my money at your business for now on.
Lisa,. The best .. you cannot beat her personality or her customer service. Skills .. she is on top of her.. I would advise you to ask for her when you call or go there to get the best. Service
I will never shop at a napa auto parts store again. They lie here just to get your money. They said my money would be refunded that day so I could have it back the following day in my account, but they haven't even released the money from napa. They screwed me over to make litterly 4.99. Its kool, I'll make sure no one I know shops here, unless they just want to give their money away. I'll strictly be shopping at o'riley. They actually care about their customers there.
I was looking for a specific part and I called on the phone prior to arriving in person and I asked the clerk what the nearest 'cross street' was since Little Creek Road is 20 miles long.... He replied, "what's a cross street?" After I explained that to him.... Which should've been the first clue that they don't have qualified people manning the store.... He kept bringing everything way too big regarding the O-rings needed....#stophiringdunces
Out of all the auto parts stores in the area, they always have what I need in stock, or get it very quickly, extremely knowledgeable and friendly service. Highly recommend.
Great knowledgeable people that work there. Manager has been in the business for 30+ yrs great part store. Unlike the other places they train people. And know what to do if it's not in a computer.
This is the best location serving the Hampton Roads area. I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Joe. Joe is very articulate and skillful at what he does. He demontrated tons of patience working with me to get my headlights back in working order. He also recommended two bottles to restore my headlights that left a shine way better than they have shines before. The atmosphere is very clean. The employees at this location exudes tons of professionalism and very genuine at heart. Please don't think of any other parts store to go to other than Napa Auto Parts at this location. I am officially a repeat customer from this point on!
My favorite parts store. The employees actually know information about cars and are car enthusiasts. If they don't know something, they know where to look for the information.
Not your normal parts store workers that will ask if my vehicle has 2 or 4 wheel drive when I'm looking to get a Window motor. They are knowledgeable.
In this day and age, finding an auto parts store with expertise and customer service is truly refreshing.There are quite a few auto part stores along Little Creek Road in this part of town, and this Napa store is heads and shoulders above the rest. It reminds me of the good old days. Genuine parts people instead of "clerks".
Eight months later, still the best around and getting better all the time.
