I went to Ed a few months back for a pre purchase vehicle inspection. Him & his team were extremely helpful . They advised me against purchasing a pretty lemon id found & gave me tips on picking a better quality, more reliable used vehicle. Weeks after my first visit, I came back to Ed & w/ a different vehicle & he gave me his version of a thumbs-up on it. I’m pleased with my car & I’m super thankful for Ed’s help. Also note: his rates were very reasonable. He genuinely seemed more interested in helping me make a good decision than simply making a buck. Highly recommend.

I came here in an emergency after my brakes locked up and my car made a nonstop beeping noise. Ed was absolutely wonderful to talk to and helped me diagnose the issue. He is so knowledgeable and such a fun person to be around.

This place was recommended to me by a friend, and it did not disappoint! From intake to service, everything was quick and efficient — truly a same-day, “Amazon Prime” type of experience with reliable results. I had a hole in my muffler and they created a reasonable, stable solution that was actually better than the stock system. What I appreciated most was their honesty. They fixed only what needed to be and didn’t try to upsell unnecessary parts or services. The staff was friendly and took the time to explain how everything worked, which I really appreciated. Compared to the rushed or dismissive attitude I’ve experienced at dealerships. The overall atmosphere of the shop is very down-to-earth & it honestly made me feel at home. I’ll definitely be returning and recommending them to anyone in need of quality, trustworthy auto service.

Just got a diagnostic done. Told me it'd be $30, only changed me $20 though. And had me in and out within 20 minutes 👍 good people

I got my brakes and rotors done on Thursday. I walked to the gas station walk back thinking I would still have to wait. They did it in less than an hour. Fast service very friendly very nice and they work with you. I will definitely come back again. Sincerely, Detroit

My experience at S&H auto repair was amazing everyone was very polite and respectful they helped me with my breaks and help me step by step so you know what’s going on and got to job done fast and efficient I really appreciate it and I will be coming back for more repairs come to S&H auto repair if you want it done right and for a good price.

I called the shop a few minutes before closing on 8/28. The owner of the shop not only allowed me to tow the car overnight, but he was very quick and detailed with inspecting my car the next morning. Over the phone, he was kind, responsive, and made sure to inform me about everything. I’m a student at Akron, and he’s been very understanding of my situation. If you’re a student or just need a mechanic you can trust, this is the place to go.

I’m rating this auto repair shop with 5 stars because they truly deserve it. Took my car to S&H Auto today for a noise I couldn’t get rid of coming from my car. My family and I have been taking our cars to this auto shop for years and Ed has this amazing way of making you feel comfortable and like family. Ed and his team are timely and precise with the work that they do and he’s always fair on pricing, he was the blessing that I needed today. Ed has been my go to mechanic for the last four years while my son has been in school at UofA. He is honest, reliable, and gets the job done on a timely basis. After my daughter had taken her car elsewhere to be fixed and figuring out that she was being taken advantage of and lied to, we had her car towed to S&H. S&H Auto Repair has taken care of my daughters car during her college years. They are always willing to help troubleshoot issues and fix items at a fraction of the cost of a dealer. Ed takes care of you and I fully recommend going to them with any car issues.

My car had been making noise for a while. I was able to schedule an appointment easily and quickly. Ed rode with me in the car to hear the sound. He was able to repair the car for a very good price. I recommend this mechanic to anyone, especially University of Akron students.

This is the first time I have ever given a positive review for a mechanic. Most of the time it's brutally negative. I called S&H auto to help out my son who is having car issues while at college. Ed who answered my called and took care of my sons brake caliper issue. Ed was accurate, price fairly, and went out of his way to explain everything. He checked the car over made another observation and found an immediate solution till my son returns from school. Ed went out of his busy day to schedule my son in and provided exceptional service. When your kid is miles away it feels so good that there are good people not trying to rip you off. So if you have car issues go see Dr. Ed....he the dr of cars instead of himans.!

A few years ago my catalytic converter was stolen out from underneath my 2011 Honda CR-V. S&H Auto straight pipes it for me because I didn’t have enough money for new parts. Fast forward to today I was able to get a new catalytic exhaust and piping and Ed and his team were excellent! Ed remembered exactly what was happening and came up with the plan to get new piping underneath. He bought good parts and his team was quick with the fix and all under budget! I highly recommend this shop!

Ed is amazing!!!!! Had a major issue with a check engine light and needed to pass e-check like yesterday. I called first and he told me some tips and to come to the shop if that didn't work. Called again later and got to his shop where he not only fixed the problem, gave tips to prevent something similar in the future. Even called after passing e-check today and still was kind enough to give advice. Really, really hard to find good honest people nowadays but Ed, you're a real one!! Thanks again!!!!

This place was amazing! Highly recommend having your car or truck looked at here especially if you are a student or live by Akron University. So I enjoy working on my car, however I was having series of unfortunate events with my Toyota and needed an expert diagnosis. Ed was more than willing to help me understand what was going on and work with me the whole way. He was even kind enough to explain how to prevent and fix this issue in the future. I sent a girlfriend of mine there knowing she wouldn’t be taken advantage of. Honestly just had a positive experience at this repair shop… I don’t usually get to say that!!!
