Horrible experience, my husband’s car needed what he thought was transmission repair. It happened a couple of days before Christmas, we really rely on this car for daily use so when we called and asked if they would take it with the holidays and they said yes we were thrilled. Our car was there for a week and a half which wasn’t bad given the holidays in some of the days BUT we received almost no communication, no calls saying “sorry we’re short staffed” or “your car is being worked on, we’ll have it done in x amount of days.” It really felt like our car was just sitting there, not being worked on, when we originally called they made it sound like they could get it done quickly. Anyhow, when they finally did get a diagnosis and working on it, it was the wrong issue which we later learned when the car started doing the same exact thing days later. It was $500 to fix and it didn’t even fix it, we later found out on our own that the tail lights were messing with the transmission on our Nissan, something I’d think a place that specializes in transmission would know. Ended up going somewhere else, but the lack of communication and $500 for nothing was not a good experience.
Cannot say enough good things about Al and his team at AJ's, they are true professionals and honest people. Their work speaks for itself and the turn around time is excellent.
Al was super helpful got my truck up and running, answered every question and was super efficient. Towed a 6k trailer the day after repair, truck performed the best since I’ve had it. Have never seen my transmission temps maintain as great as they did on the 4 hr trip, truck feels strong with every shift. Awesome shop!
Amazing! Had an unfortunate situation where I thought my transmission blew. There was transmission fluid everywhere my car wouldn’t change gears and it was smoking. Not only did they take care of my tow and just with that save me $300. They also found that valvoline charged me for the oil change and oil filter 2 weeks ago. But they DIDNT touch my car. They didn’t even give me a sticker….this shop FIXED their issue and got my car in and out in 5 hours. Oil change, oil filter, transmission fluid flush, and the sensor causing my car not to shift. Under $600…. I can’t even begin to say how grateful I am that I found this place. I had a bad day. And they cut me the biggest break I’ve ever gotten. They were so patient given we had a super ornery 2 year old and us adults we were in and out to hit our vapes and set off they’re dooralarm and had dude running up each time it went off cuz of us. Thank you for saving my day! Yall pick this place. I live an hour away ok. I will travel to do business here! 10 STARS!!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
These guys are great just got my truck back from them. Great customer service great timing. This Is the second time I’ve been here for transmission work the first time they rebuilt my transmission in my 2011 GMC Yukon Denali they did an excellent job no complaints very timely on service. The second time they did a cooler bypass and a transmission flush in my 2017 Chevy Silverado. I am very happy with their service and timely manners and it was great customer service both times I would suggest them to anybody for transmission work
I had my car there last year and just now got the problem fixed at another shop. This place had horrible and completely disorganized customer service. They couldn't even keep track of keys. They had my car for two weeks and still hadn't diagnosed the issue, and they overcharged me to fix about a third of the problem. Most of the updates I received during a two week period were because I called them and about half of those were inaccurate. The front desk worker, Brian, was extraordinarily rude in addition to being confused. The owner did eventually step in and try to solve the issue but ultimately I had to just pay for a partial repair to get my car back. If you're thinking about going here, I'd recommend avoiding it. It turned out to be a terrible waste of time and money for me, and a bad experience overall.
Thank you for rebuilding the transmission in my Suburban and replacing the body control module. AJs has been my go to mechanic for over 15 years. I rely on my car to get to work and to get my son to all his appointments, so to keep it running I rely on AJs Transmissions.
I had a great experience at AJ’s Transmissions. Al was very knowledgeable and listened to what I wanted in the repair. He also gave advice that was appreciated and benefited me and my business vehicle. Overall a great experience. Fixed my vehicle the way it should have been from the start. He also had it completed in the estimated timeframe he originally gave. Will be going here again when needed. A+
Absolutely recommend ajs. They always get us in fast no questions asked. Having a company with 14 box trucks it comes in really handy for our company. Will definitely continue to do business with them.
Had a emergency yesterday morning with my 2012 grand caravan had to have tow to AJ yesterday at this time and 24 hr later I'm back great speedy well done adorable rates would recommend him to any don't have to take my word for.it stop in and see yourself
I've used AJ's Transmission for years. I mostly use them for regular maintenance like oil changes, tire rotation, check engine lights, etc. Then, of course, transmission checks and repairs when needed. The shop has never oversold me, but always lets me know what's needed or not. I recommend them very highly. In this world of tight margins, and lack of responsible work....that is not the experience I have had with AJ's. The owner and team are not looking to make unwarranted profit off of me. Can't say that for so many other shops. Thanks for the great care you give my vehicle!
So I didn’t actually bring my car in for service but rather talked to Mike on the phone who told me that I’d be better off leaving my transmission alone at this point in my car’s life since it’s already at > 100k miles. His honesty and professionalism makes me wish I could give him 10 stars rather than 5.
When I took my truck in for repairs they told me they'd have a diagnosis and estimate the same afternoon. They called me back that afternoon with a detailed description of the work and a price to make the repairs.
The work was finished the next day and the price was the same as the estimate. It was a stress free experience. I would recommend them for many if not all automotive repairs.
My experience with AJ's transmission was absolutely amazing. They were so kind from start to finish. They made sure they gave me updates every step of the way..I'm am so grateful I found them. The staff are amazing, excellent customer service. I am 100% satisfied with their work. I would 10/10 recommend this shop to anyone looking for repairs and they are a full service shop, so they do alot.
DO NOT USE THIS SHOP, I used them fall of 2021 and they rolled my truck out of the garage without a transmission. That next morning it was stollen at 5am and they didn’t let me know until 4 hours later. They refused to take responsibility and I was forced to cover the deductible myself. Terrible costumer service. They are not trust worthy, STAY AWAY
I’ve used AJ’s in the past and they always done a great job. When my transmission began to not work properly, I immediately called AJ’s without hesitation. Surprisingly he remembered who I was after all those years and took care of my truck at a reasonable price. Chose AJ’s for quality services and great pricing!
I came to a j's as a referral from a family member. My 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee was riding funny when I would pull off and it sounded rough changing gears at takeoff. One place told me it was possibly a ground wire issue or communication problem to the transfer case. Another place told me it was the transmission and I should sell the car asap. It would give a service AWD alarm, then show that there was a problem with the mode it should be in. AJ told me to bring it in . I did and he checked it out and showed me that it was a problem with this small computer. He changed it out and programmed it and I got it back as he promised. It runs like a dream and was a lot cheaper than buying a 6.9k transmission plus installation. It runs great 👍. Thanks AJ!
Alan and his crew are the best in the business. I won't take my personal or business vehicles anywhere else! I am a huge car guy and do not let anyone touch my personal stuff but when it comes to the crew at AJ's if I can't do it, they sure can! Couldn't recommend them with high enough regards. Take your vehicle here and you will not be disappointed.
I had them fix my transmission consistently over the course of a year. EVERYTIME they’d give it back, it would still be slipping into 3rd gear. They had my car from October 1st to December 12th and the problem still is occurring. On top of that I now have a leak somewhere in my car that wasn’t there before (picture shown below) and my car won’t start because they let it sit for so long!!!! I would not recommend this service to my worst enemy. If I could give it 0/5 stars I would. Terrible customer service also, EVERYTIME I call they’ll never tell me exactly what they’re fixing. And just keep extending the dates. The worst part is I’ve only had my car 1 year and in that that span I’ve only been able to drive it for 3 months because it’s always broken after they give it back to me. And this is the guy with the 2006 SS Monte Carlo, if you’re wondering who wrote this review!
Amazing service. We had to get our range selector switched changed we got our van to the shop on a Thursday by the next day he knew exactly the issue and had it done that Monday. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and will use again in the future.
Professional and above all integrity! Being my first winter back in the area, I accidentally turned on wipers which overextended beyond the windshield. Called Al explained the humming noise and was quoted a fair price if motor needed replaced.
The transmission in the linkage was repaired at less than half the quoted price. I highly recommend these timely and honest mechanics! Thank you AJs!
If you are looking for someone who knows their stuff, honest, Fast service, all around nice guy, TRUSTWORTHY, you need to see Al! We purchased a truck from Disels Direct (Don't recommend them) but we had to get the transmission rebuilt, plus some after we bought it and we found Al! He has been a godsend helping us out and getting it back on the road! We can't thank you enough Al! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! A++++ SERVICE!!
I would highly recommend Aj's transmission. Not only are they honest and upfront, but they are reasonable! The customer service is excellent! If any issues arise while working on your vehicle they call and let you know before continuing the work. They fixed my transmission in about a week. It's been working well ever since. Great service!! I took my Duramax to a transmission specialist in Zanesville because of a delayed 2 into 1 downshift problem I was having. They called and said I needed a new trany costing $4000. I found AJ's online and gave them a call. I took my truck in the following business day, Al drove it and instantly knew what the problem was. Ended up costing me $350. Honest service like this is hard to come by these days. Thanks again!!
I bought an SUV with over 140,000 miles. When it shifted gears, it wasn't as smooth as other vehicles I have driven. Every time I drove it, I was hyper sensitive about a problem with the transmission. I took it to AJ'S to have it serviced. Parts and labor were very reasonable. They changed the tranny fluid and filter. Now I feel so much better that all is well. It runs much better and the piece of mind is priceless. They took great care of me and my TriBeca. Love that guy and the shop.
