The facility is clean, bright, and secure. More important, customer service is excellent! Danielle was very clear and helpful. I appreciated that she was careful and double-checked important details.
Storage Sense on Danby Rd super close to Ithaca College campus made it very easy to set up a storage space for my daughter in college, as Jordan was super patient with my multiple phone calls and answering questions, until the contract was complete. She also made it very easy to acquire the lock, and assisted the first time visiting w/great service! Call direct to this location!
Management changed my building passcode without notice. They changed my access hours without notice. The building was frequently left open/ unlocked. They raised the price each year. My unit was over locked without cause, my account was paid and up to date. They have had no accountable for their mistakes.
The two representatives at the Ithaca location who helped me today with reserving a unit were thorough in explaining all the details of the rental, patient with all my questions, serious in trying to help me find the best solution for my circumstances, and above all, warm and friendly. The sincerity of their help made me comfortable about my choices.
My landscape/construction company completed work at this facility in spring of 2024 and we are still waiting on payment. Every time we follow up, we get promises of payment or excuses such as missing W9 or insurance information. We have the written records where all this information has been submitted to them. I was referred to by a friend, and to make sure I spoke to Courtney at Storage Sense 10 days ago. We spoke by phone and then in person at Storage Sense. She was extremely helpful and professional with all my questions. I am a senior and partially handicapped. Courtney showed me 3 different storage spaces that day. Two inside in a temperature controlled area ( a locker and a 5x5 space) snd one outside, which was the biggest 5x10, and most reasonable. Each unit was immaculate!
I had never rented a storage space and found I just had too much, as a caterer.
This was a no brainer. Courtney described the month to month contact and I received $50 off my 1st month, because I was a new customer as well as my friend who referred me. This was a no brainer! Also, I can move to another space inside if I wish or cancel.
I can’t say enough about the positive experience I had and the help moving in!

Spoke w rep on several occasions and reserved a unit. Called to reconfirm for college move out and they can’t find reservation. Terrible customer service and completely unreliable. Would never recommend this storage company for the stress they caused.
Storage Sense Ithaca epitomizes incompetence and indifference, displayed by their district manager, Melinda Hernandez. Her callous demeanor and utter lack of professionalism make her a disgrace to the industry. Not only did Storage Sense Ithaca continue to charge my account after I closed my unit, but they also had the audacity to blame a terminated employee for their own shortcomings. Not only do they not tell you or inform or post outside how to properly close your account, but they also refuse to admit their own wrongdoing.
Despite admitting fault, Hernandez refuses to rectify the situation, displaying a stunning lack of empathy towards struggling college students like myself. Even laughing on the phone when I expressed that I would like to further escalate this matter to a supervisor. It's clear that customer satisfaction means nothing to Storage Sense, as they prioritize their bottom line over basic decency.
In a world where customer service should be paramount, Storage Sense Ithaca and its manager, Melinda Hernandez, stand as shining examples of what not to do. Save yourself the headache and avoid this heartless establishment at all costs. She also refused to refund me for this month after formerly promising on the phone yesterday she would.
Every other employee at storage sense Ithaca is kind and decent.
Everything is great. Except they should've notified me a few days before monthly renewal about returning the keys/keeping the lock on. I paid for an extra month of storage that I didn't need.
Very good experience with lots of helpful information! Very responsive! I was able to reserve online and then meet in person at the office to get keys and be shown the unit. They immediately switched me to a new unit when they realized there was an issue with the first one I reserved, which I appreciated so much. They also sell moving & packing materials.
Good, safe, clean location and facilities! I have no worries about my belongings and feel comfortable having them there and accessing them.
Storage unit was clean, climate control was excellent, and it felt safe to use. Only complaint was the fact that online order and actual access code didn’t match - needed to work with local manager, whose hours are limited. But staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I rented my locker online, which was very convenient since I was 2 and a half hours away but needed to secure one pretty quickly.
This was the first time I have ever rented a storage unit, Travis was extremely helpful with my questions when I did go in. My unit was inside, the access was simple and still very close to a door for easy movement of my items. The temperature control was perfect and nice on the few hot days I was in and out.
Most importantly, I felt my belongings were safe and secure in this facility. It was clean and well kept.
As someone who has had some pretty horrible experiences with other storage units, I can confidently say your stuff will be safe here.
The store manager is super friendly and a genuinely nice person. There wasn’t a 30 day notice required which is fabulous.
Only thing I didn’t appreciate was their inability to prorate the price of the unit when I moved out a few days after the automatic payment went through.

Management team Terri and Douglas have gone above and beyond by providing considerate, clear communication and stellar customer service to meet our needs. We’re grateful to have found this option for temporary storage and highly recommend.
I’ve used Storage Sense for the 4 years, my son attended Ithaca College. It is well located, safe, clean and has on-site staff most hours. Highly recommend.
The unit was clean and remained weather proof for the 19 months we kept things in it. Staff was always very responsive. The one issue I had with the unit is that the door never fully closed, and as a result, the deadbolt and lock were very difficult to remove or insert. I believe their plan with this unit is to replace the locking mechanism before renting the space again, so hopefully this is not an issue for the next person. I'll also add that we rented TWO units from them, and the other one had no mechanical problems of any kind.
Terri was very helpful and kind, and took time out of her “day off” to help me. She even found a discount I wasn’t aware of. It was simple and quick to rent the unit.
Terri was the best! She checked in with me leading up to my reservation date, gave me info I needed, and made the whole renting experience so easy and smooth. The facility is really clean and my unit even had a little welcome card in it. I’m so happy with my choice!
My experience with storage sense was great! When I first came in to sign up for a storage unit, the person at the desk was friendly and very helpful with getting me other supplies I would need to make sure my clothes would stay okay during this time. The storages were very clean and spacious for everything to fit! I have recommended many friends and old work colleagues to get a unit at storage sense. It is very secured and in a good area.
I was a customer of this facility under previous ownership and I admit it was a bit unnerving being far away from Ithaca and hearing that it was being transitioned to Storage Sense. However, they quickly put my mind and ease and it was clear that the transition to new billing would be easy. The communication was really great.
More important, I had things in storage with them for more than a year without checking on it, so I placed a lot of trust in the company that the facility would be maintained and safe. When I did finally pick up my things and move out, everything was just as I left it and there was no evidence at all of any issues with water, pests, etc. I had a couple spider buddies but that was it.

Unbelievable on how clean this place is. The price is perfect, they even gave me a discount for the first month. The manager was so polite I took him back some cookies. I will always recommend this location. They also sell boxes and other moving supplies. The manager even brought me a cart to use while I was there.
