I love my car. They treated her as if she was their own. Courteous and friendly, I felt like I was really being taken care of.

Just went in for a diagnostic test for my car. I had no intention in having Monro fix any issues because I've already heard terrible things. Gave me a quote of 1000 for something I can get done for half the price somewhere else. Tried charging me $400 for a part that only costs about $75. They saw a young woman alone and thought they could squeeze some money out of me. Absolutely do not recommend they are total scammers

Staff was very friendly and helped out by staying late to help me with a side wall blow out. They called a place 40 minutes away and a staff member went and picked up my tire and installed it. Very helpful and very friendly.

Needed a patch on my tire due to a slow leak. It was late that day, so to be safe, I set an appointment for 12pm the following day. Someone called out, i was stuck at work, so I called an hour BEFORE my appointment to reschedule. We set on 5:30pm same day. I was specifically told "you only need a patch? You can actually come at anytime, a patch is really not a big deal" .. I get there at 5pm. Told the guy I was early for a 5:30 appointment for a tire patch. He asked me if i could hang out for a little bit, I said of course, i know I'm early. There was another young lady sitting there. Time passes, I look up. It's 6:37pm. I ask the young lady how long had she been waiting, she said 3 hours! But they had her car since the day before😳. Couldn't find the guy to tell him I was leaving and ask about the next day.. Come back the next day at 3:45pm and spoke to the same slightly rude guy, and NOPE! They couldn't do it that day. Really?!? Luckily, it wasn't an emergency. It wasn't that big of a deal, but it definitely was an unfortunate waste of time.

Staff was very nice but it took way too long. The first day there I was there 8 hours. I had to go back the second day because what they did the first day didn’t fix the issue that zi was having. I was there 5 hrs the second day.

I went in for a front end alignment but after checking it out on the alignment machine they told me my car was great and did not need one after all. They are all just a great bunch of guys, and I never feel like they are taking advantage of me. Thank you

The mechanics and managers have been a pleasure to deal with and they often went above and beyond. I first made their acquaintance when my car needed an adjustment that was simple but required tools I didn't have: they did it without an appointment and didn't charge me. Since then I've invariably found them accommodating about time and reasonable about charges. After my recent brake repairs, I found that my car rattled and vibrated less than it had, and I believe they must have done some tightening and adjusting in addition to the billed job.

Got a screw in my tire. They patched my tire under 20 minutes professionally. Very helpful for my emergency to send me prepared for my holiday travel.

Monroe was overall amazing. They got us in for an appointment quickly, were fair and upfront with their pricing, and completed everything way earlier than we anticipated (a rarity!). I will definitely be visiting them again. Minus one star because when we did pick the car up it smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, and it took a whole day for the smell to subside. Other than that, super happy with the quality, service, and prices.

I called on a Friday morning to schedule a NYS Inspection, and was told over the phone I could drop it off anytime. When I came to drop it off, Monro had no clue who I was or what I was talking about, but was able to take my car in. Saturday afternoon I called for an update and couldn’t get through, just assumed they were busy. Sunday morning I called again around noon, and was told they had no record of my car but could come pick it up “sometime soon”. I got a callback immediately that my car was actually done on Saturday, but no one called. Terrible service, I will NEVER be taking my car here again.

They did good work and the brakes are now fine. The price was competitive. When I asked to reduce the amount of work to reduce the price they did so. The mechanic forgot to change the oil and I noticed the next day it was still dirty and the mainten, ance light was still on. So I went back in, verified my claim, and the oil was then changed and the mechanic also checked all fluid levels.

Rarely leave reviews of anything but I would feel guilty if I didn’t document my experience with Monroe in Ithaca. I can only speak to my situation but from the general feeling of how this went down I imagine it is not limited to a single occurrence. I made an online appointment for 11pm to swap my existing summer tires for snow tires that I already owned. This swap was on a brand new vehicle with <2000 miles on it. When I made the appointment I checked the box that stated I would be waiting for the job to complete at their shop, as a job like this typically would take an hour tops. Once I handed over the keys I was informed that it would be 2-3 hours minimum until they would be done. Despite being on time for an 11pm appointment, and them being aware that I was planning to wait. I understand that jobs can get backed up and this can lead to increased wait times but to withhold that information until they have the keys in hand and agreement for services didn’t feel great. Not 2-3 but almost 4 hours later they completed the job and I was on my way. Only to realize after I got home that they threw out my perfectly good summer tires with <2000 miles on them when I stated I wanted to keep them. I immediately returned and had to look through their tire pile in the back of the shop to find them. I basically ended burning most of day to get a simple job done that most other places could have done in less time, with more care. It’s partly on me that I went to the cheapest place I could find, but the standard of service was below even the price point. It’s worth the extra money to get actual service and reliability in the area. Don’t go here if you can avoid it.

My experience With Monroe was varied. I was very happy with the service that was provided in store. I was very happy with the staff in the store. I was thoroughly frustrated with the customer support that I received from the call center. I was about to cancel my appointment and not even use Monroe due to my frustrations with the call center. I am glad that I did keep my appointment. In the future, I will definitely go there in person or make sure I speak with someone at the location, not through the call center.

Absolutely would not recommend Monro Auto in Ithaca! I first tried to book an appointment over the phone, but instead of talking with someone at the shop I had to talk to someone outsourced sitting in another country. This person then went on to quote me an outrageous price just to look at my van (I had a brake fluid leak). Initially I didn't even go to the shop; I only decided to go AFTER I couldn't get in anywhere else. It was a freezing cold day and I simply didn't have time to do it myself. I then get to the shop, and was quoted by a tech (after it had been looked at) that it was a simple rubber brake line and it would cost around $200 at most, and would be done within an hour. AWESOME right?! Oh no. I got called into the shop later by another tech who told me that he saw a leak in my back caliper (which I replaced a few months ago) and he was going to replace that and change the brakes (replaced a few months ago, they barely had wear on them). It wasn't until I said "Absolutely Not" to getting those replaced that my estimate jumped to $412, and they couldn't tell me when it would be done! But at this point I was so frustrated that I just had them do it. THE THING THAT UPSETS ME MOST IS THAT THESE GUYS ARE DOING THIS TO PEOPLE THAT ABSOLUTELY DON'T KNOW ANY BETTER! I'm talking the single mom who really doesn't have money to spare because she's trying to scrape up money to give her children a Christmas! Or the disabled guy who can't physically make the repairs or look at the vehicle on his own. I'm a disabled veteran, which is hard enough without places like this taking advantage of me. I will ABSOLUTELY never go to a Monro again. Disgusting.

I have been going to this shop for at least 6 years. The former shop steward Angel was extremely reliable and my degree of confidence was very high that I would receive honest, fast reliable service. I made an appointment to have snow tires installed on my vehicle. The new shop steward seemed confused about the order, kept asking for details about my car make and model, and took at least 10 minutes on the computer to find my tires. The appointment which should have taken maybe 30 minutes- change, balance and install new tires- took over 2 hours. I left for a 4 hour road trip to he next morning and as soon as I reached highway speeds my car started shaking violently. I called the shop and he said to stop asap and another Monro to check the tires. I stopped at the Binghamton NY shop. They were too busy to put my car up, but kindly made sure the lug nuts were tight. Upon visual inspection the shop steward and a mechanic told me he the tires had not been balanced - the weights were old. I subsequently had them balanced by another tire store and they informed me that the tires are not snow tires but all-season, and they are THE WRONG SIZE! I will be returning the tires and remain ding a full refund. Do not go to the Ithaca NY Monro store!!

The gentlemen at the front desk were very personable and treated me with the utmost respect. Made me feel at ease right away. Had some unexpected issues but the young men were very helpful with the issue. Definitely will be a returning customer!!

Stellar, fast and professional service! Very grateful that Monro was able to take my car in on a Sunday afternoon. They quickly fixed my tire emergency and I received the car back within hours. Amazing service and price.

As I waited for an inspection I observed the kindest customer service ever by Jeremy who carefully explained options to other customers- Jeremy obviously genuinely cared about the people! All was good for my inspection and they took pictures of things to be aware of down the road...I will be back, down the road! Thank you Jeremy!

Awesome, fast service! The mechanics were very knowledgeable and had great attitudes. We were in town visiting daughter at Cornell and took her car in to have the tire checked for a slow leak. Monro made us a priority, and had us in and out in 20 min!

I don't normally leave reviews, but the guys here were nothing short of great. They brought my car in right away and I was out of there in under an hour. Thanks again!

Went here to get my headlight changed. They got me in and out quickly and sent us on our way without asking for a dime. Everyone was super nice - they even had some good one liners.

My husband brought our Sprinter Van to have a tire patched and were very satisfied with the speed and professionalism of the Monro crew. They were very helpful and very reasonably priced. We live in Ithaca and will use them again as we have need.

They do good work, getting the job done… but 2 hour inspection with a booked appointment… took that long because of a $10 light bulb, that I could’ve walked across the street to the AutoZone and got… instead they had it delivered which took 2 hours… that’s definitely a work smarter not harder moment, and to make someone wait with a 2 year old for 2 hours for a $10 bulb that they told me they had in store already when I dropped the vehicle off, I told them I would walk across the street and get a bulb, guy said “we have one in stock” I thought that meant they had it on hand…

Came in for a slow leak for one of my back tires. Said they fixed / filled in the hole - but then I drove off, parked, and all of a sudden the tire was completely flat. I called very upset and one of their guys drove to me just as they were closing. He filled my tire with air, drove back with me, and fixed it (there was another hole). Though it was a frustrating experience they did right thing by coming after hours and not charging me again. 5 stars

Don't take them at their word and/or get a second opinion for any serious repairs. I brought a 1998 ford Taurus with 41K miles in for a basic state inspection. The car had no notable issues whatsoever, the ride was perfect, the brakes worked, no unusual sounds or complaints. Garage kept for 27 years with minimal surface rust. After inspecting, they told me a spring was "rusted through" and I was STUPID enough to take them at their word. They replaced both shock and spring assemblies and did an alignment for all of $1250. They provided no picture or real evidence the spring was so rusted it needed replacement. based on the ride height and how car drove, sounded and appeared on arrival, there's not a snowflake's chance in He11 a spring was completely rusted to the point that it had broken. Not a chance. 0. After replacement, I picked up the car and drove it a few miles home, as soon as I left the parking area I noticed the brakes had maybe 50% less stopping power and there were all sorts of insane grinding and scraping noises coming from the rear of the car. I brought it back a few days later to "fix" this problem. Well, I just picked it up, and guess what's still scraping and grinding as soon as I took a right turn out of the parking lot? Our car! Apparently it must have been so messed up from the first unnecessary repair attempt they couldn't even fix it! I'm not feeling great about dropping off a car with no issues whatsoever, being charged nearly $1300 and the car being much worse off than when we dropped it off. Don't walk, RUN from this place.

I had an urgent issue with my car and pulled in as they were still open. The guys were friendly and got me back on the road fast. Specially appreciative that I did not get "stupid girl" treatment. 10/10 do recommend

We came in last moment with a broken exhaust that no one else in town would fit us in for. Jeremy told us to come right on down. He didn't skip a beat from the moment he had our keys! Within moments we had our vehicle in the shop and just a couple moments after that he told us exactly what our options were for getting it fixed. He was truly professional and even gave us options for financing our exhaust and we got approved! The experience here was so pleasant and we'll be coming back at any chance we get!

GO ANYWHERE ELSE EXCEPT HERE! We came to do repairs on a muffler and brake pads, and ended up with a nightmare scenario. The Monro corporate office has gone above and beyond to provide awful customer service. This tire center installed a faulty tire rotor, which almost immediately proceeded to explode in a way that the mechanics said they had "never seen in all their years of work." We brought the car back in, they replaced the tire rotors, and when we asked if they knew how it happened or if they used a different lot to ensure quality they told us they had NO IDEA!! We asked for a refund to get the car repaired elsewhere, they agreed in the store, and then proceeded to delay, claim we do not have the proper paperwork, and otherwise make it appear that we were somehow at fault. This has taken several MONTHS of attempting to get a hold of customer service and have them respond to our refund request. I cannot believe a business like this can continue to operate in Ithaca.
