I needed a brake and light inspection for my 2003 Honda CRV. Orange County does not have many shops that will do this inspection, but if you find one it's not cheap! Some places charge for the inspection on top of a certificate fee and the waiting time is around 1-2 hours. And, not all places will do a free re-inspection. Don't waste your time or money! Not only is this place right across from the Santa Ana DMV, but they are pretty quick and charge around the same price as the other shops. Some shops just want your money, this place was willing to help me pass the inspection and they won't charge for a re-inspection. Trust this place! After everything that needs to be done for a salvage title, the last thing you need are sketchy shops just trying to make money off of you!

Another great experience! I can’t say enough good things about Santa Ana Smog and the owner Jerry. I brought in my Chrysler 300C which had some serious issues including a bad fuel pump, worn motor mounts, a much-needed brake fluid and radiator flush, plus a radiator hose replacement. Jerry and his team took care of everything with skill, honesty, and professionalism. What really stands out about this shop is their integrity. They don’t try to upsell you or gouge you with unnecessary repairs. That’s rare these days. Jerry genuinely cares about doing quality work and making sure your car is safe and running right. I’ve dealt with a lot of shops over the years, and it's hard to find mechanics you can trust. This is one of the few I do. They took care of me, showed me what was gonna happen to my vehicle and what’s wrong with it, and the work that they did, it was a refreshing and nice experience. I didn’t over pay and these guys know what they are doing.

I rode my bike down here yesterday from LA because I was told this was one of the only places that would accept my rear lights as I had them. Once I got here, Jose said back lights are fine, but he needs to speak to the Owner Jerry, who is on vacation) to see if the front ones are allowed. He even got on the computer and read some things to try to see if he could find information. While reading, confirmed that the back lights were fine to be flush. So it's just the front ones that have an issue. Since he couldn't find info on the front lights, we either had to wait for a response from the owner or I had to swap them out. I was told if I change them, and came back that it would all work. Great, I can easily fix the lights. He also did take my number in case the owner answered about the lights I came with so he could inform me. I came back today with my front lights as Jose asked of me, ready to get my paperwork, and of course, he says to me that the back lights are wrong! I was a bit taken aback by this information.. he tells me that he DID NOT say the back lights were okay yesterday. As if I was just going to come back down here if I didn't have everything fixed that he told me. I asked him why he didn't call me if he had this info, and said he was too busy. Haha, so seems like they are understaffed and the owner shouldn't be going on vacation and leaving his employees not knowing how to do their jobs! I am 100% certain of what we discussed and now regret not recording the interaction. Jose straight up lied to my face! So of course I'm not going to recommended this place. As they completely wasted my time and might do the same to you!

Jerry is one of the most honest and respected mechanics I’ve gone to for the last 5 years. From my 80 Chevy LUV, 90 NA Mx5- these guys rock. Trusted.

Very bad customer service. Went there for a regular smog check and Jerry took at least 7 people after me. I easily waited 45 minutes for him to get my car and drive it in and that never happened. I ended up grabbing my keys and left.

WATCH OUT !! Jerry is a CROOK BE CAREFUL, Jerry gave me an estimate too high but I already invested $90 for the inspection so I said go ahead but when I came back to pick up the car he said I need to pay him $300 more because they spent too much time more the estimated but I picked up the car at the time we agreed lol the DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE ME MY KEYS TILL I pay the extra $300 so AVOID GOING HERE ALSO another customer got an estimate for inspect brakes $50 (NOT TO REPLACE) to replace a brake light bulb $50 so absurd

Changed Front EOM Catalytic converter including labor over $1,600 in half day quickly and easily is my first impression. I’ll update later about its quality. Thanks for reading my thoughts.

I took my car in for an EVAP testing before it failed during smog inspection. They hooked up EVAP/smoke machine to find a leak. There's no leaks and they didn't try to upsell anything that I don't need. They did a good work and honestly. Everything is straight forward. Probably this is my go-to repair shop from now on. Just had my other car Smog check done today. Fast and easy.

Very polite gentleman that helped me with my car. Did not wait more than 15 minutes to get my car tested. He also called the DMV and gave them all of the info. Will do business with them again, thank you!!!

The manager or owner and worker I spoke to were both friendly, professional, and easy going. Those kinds of people are always nice to deal with, but even more so when dealing with potentially stressful or expensive situations! My work was both started and finished within the time estimates I was given. Very glad my friend recommended me here, and I enthusiastically do as well now!

Don’t go to this shop to get your Brakes and lights inspection for salvage certificate. Very dishonest owner and employees. No matter what they will find you a reason not to pass so you have a choice to fix it at their shop and get it done or go somewhere else and that after they charge the fees ahead of time. Before I paid them I asked them to look at the car from the outside and see if anything needed to be done. They said no and after they took the money they told me the fog lights need to be connected or removed completely. So I paid them an extra $75 just to remove the fog lights and put them back on.

Took our van in for oil/filter change and it was noted we needed 4 tires..as the 4 on our van were damn near bald. A good price was given and the tires were put on/balanced etc..in under an hour as promised. Jerry..the owner/mgr is always very helpful.

If you need to get certified brake and lamp inspection then you won't be disappointed. Jerry will see to it that you are taken care of properly. I am totally satisfied with my needs being met for DMV.

I DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL. AVOID this place at all cost if you could especially by a gentlemen with long hair he is just unprofessional. Took my truck for break and light inspection. He initially told me couple items I need to get repair (fog lights and lic plate lights which was fine not a problem). Then a few minutes later after fixing that he came back with more items just like if he was MONEY HUNGRY trying to get every little single item he could find to CHARGE MORE $. You supposed to do the inspection first, get ALL the items to get fix and then talk to the customer. I ended up paying $160 for the inspection + two license plate light bulbs and two fog lights removed and supposedly headlights adjustment. I do appreciate the person that actually got the work done at this place his name is *****Jessie***** outstanding customer service by him he is an employee but not his boss I believe his name is Jerry/Terry. VOID THIS PLACE!!!!

Jerry explained everything to me. The price was very fair. Courteous and professional service. They replaced my clutch on my Honda Civic and it drives like a new car now !

Very impressed with the manner in which the Smog test was conducted. Spoke to the manager over the phone prior to me visiting the business, he was very polite and courteous and gave me a clear turn around time for the completion of the test. Upon driving up to the business I was immediately greeted and checked in, I was informed that it will take 30 minutes at the most to complete. Time taken to finish the test was less than the estimated time provided. Service was quick and fast and customer service was outstanding. Would highly recommend this business and definitely convinced me frequent this place as a repeat customer.

Just wanted to let them know. There service was excellent. So grateful for them checking out my Honda pilot and letting me know what was wrong with it. The manager was so helpful and he even let me know the part that was broken on my car should still be cover under warranty through the dealer. He could have charged me and not have mentioned anything!!! Thank you and much appreciated

I had my car repaired here snd i just had to write a review. The owner was so helpful and honest and as a woman i dread having to deal with car repair issues but this was the first time i felt totally at ease and the work he did only cost me 110 bucks. The part alone was going to be expensive but they called around trying to find it used for much less and when my husband found it first at pick a part he happily agreed to put it in for us still and worked with the part not being perfect since it was used. Totally awesome experience. Fixed my car fast and it's running great now. I seriously couldn't be happier! Thank you guys! Job well done!! I will be recommending you to my family and friends and anyone who reads this trust me.. I'm a very picky person.. You should take your car here!

Awesome! Honest, and always right in his diagnosis. Extremely fair pricing, much better prices than I got other places when I was on the road. I drive 70 miles one way to go to Jerry because I won't let anyone else touch my car! He goes out of his way to serve. BTW- he is total car service even though the name says "Smog."

I have been going to this place since I got my first car when I was 16, I'm now 38 and I gotta say I've never trusted mechanics but Jerry is very honest and gives great prices and I wouldn't take it anywhere else, this is the place to go if you want it done right at an affordable price, I've been coming for years and will keep coming even tho I live in Los Angeles now he's the only one I trust to touch my cars it's worth the drive. Jerry is the best customer service man in this business. He's fair and does everything he can to help his customers. His prices are very fair and he keeps a very level head with everyone - even with "wilder" customers running in and out with questions. I will be coming back and referring people!

Jerry is awesome! I took my car to 5 other places (yes, FIVE!) and no one could help me pass a simple smog inspecting (something weird to do with sensors). These guys had me going in about two hours. Highly recommended!

Looking for a local smog shop, found these great reviews so gave them a call. Jerry answered the phone, was very professional and straight forward. Gave me a quote over the phone for a smog and muffer install. At the shop, he was very helpful, got us in, did the work, got us out. His pricing is excellent! The work is excellent! My Tundra 4x4 sounds fantastic! 5 stars!
