Took my vehicle to Ed to have a transmission swapped in for me. My old one died and could not be rebuilt. He did an amazing job and was extremely professional. I have a 2500 Diesel truck that needed the clutch replaced. As I have the engine turned up a little, a factory replacement clutch would not work and slip immediately. I had already purchased an aftermarket clutch kit, but most shops wouldn't use customer supplied parts. Thankfully, it was no problem for Ed and his team! They replaced the factory clutch assembly with my upgraded South Bend clutch, replaced the rear main seal that was leaking badly, washed the transmission and inside of the bell housing. They also discovered a cracked clutch fork and replaced that with OEM part from local dealer. The work was done in a very timely manner (less than a week), and VERY reasonable priced. Other shops were much more expensive and many were at least a month out to even look at the truck. I would gladly return to their shop for future work.

Took a bmw with an auto ZF auto transmission and they got it up and running within a week. No other shop has the guts to even touch a ZF auto, but these guys swapped my transmission and even changed the valve body with a new one. While still being about $300 under other estimates. I flew in Tuesday morning, picked up the car, got a tune up, and drove 1,200 miles the same day! I trusted this shop's work and it really shined through. It's been 1 year since, 6 months past warranty, and this transmission has held up better than anything so far. Car was 300hp stock; it is now about 550whp and the transmission is still going strong! Just one quick tip Ed (: you were right that sometimes these transmissions don't require coding. But it will still cause communication between ecu and the transmission module. All that is needed is just a quick vin match to prevent further issues.

Ed and Rickie were very awesome! They rebuilt the transmissions for my 71 plymouth roadrunner and my 79 Trans AM. These guys are very knowledgeable and professional. My new go to place for any transmission needs! Thanks guys!!!

Can’t thank Ed enough for doing such a great job rebuilding my 2007 Ford Explorer transmission. Ed really goes above and beyond when doing his work and you can tell he really knows what he’s doing. Ed is the most honest guy I've met. After my usual Porsche guy said I needed a new transmission, I wanted to get a second opinion. I found Transmission Specialists on line with everyone giving it a 5 star rating with the exception of one goof ball. Ed took the time to check out my car and determined it wasn't my transmission. He installed new plugs and injectors and now my car runs great. I saved over 10k. This was about a year ago. I had a check engine come on yesterday and even though he was busy, he took the time to diagnose the problem and turned off the check engine light at no cost. Can't say enough good things about him.

This fool told me I have 3 year warranty on my transmission or 100,000 miles 2 years later my transmission having problems I told him the engine was replaced because it overheated he tells me to bring the car in one week later he tells me that due to my engine overheated warranty wasn't going to cover it 😂 I pick up my car as I was driving bunch of smoke comeing out the back got home and the transmission drain bolt was hella loose..... That same day I went and dropped the transmission oil pan come to find out Mr. Specialist didn't even put a filter on my transmission. I didn't even think twice about calling him it was not worth my time this guy is a joke ... Car is 2003 Mercedes E55 AMG

We took our car here. Mercedes was going to charge us an exuberant amount of money. But Ed said he'd work with our third party extended warranty. He had to fight tooth and nail but got it done for the most part! Our car was tricky because it was not only the transmission, it was the radiator and tork converter. We are glad we finally got it done and had to pay little out of pocket! Thanks again Ed for all your hard work and time. My husband and I greatly appreciate it! I would definitely continue to do business with Ed. Very honest, trustworthy man of his word.

I had my f250 diesel transmission rebuilt by Ed and his team a few weeks ago and can't be more pleased with the rebuild and customer service. I was kept up to date during the whole process and was sent pictures of the work being done, would highly recommend.

Had to get my transmission rebuilt, happened to drive by and get it checked out. Was helped by Ed (the owner) and he is VERY professional and honest. Same thing like the other reviews. Keeps dodging my calls and have assistants talk to me. But no problems ever resolve. What happened to this place? Beware people. They also give great warranty but when your car needs servicing....they won't honer it. What is the point of warranty?! No good. STAY AWAY!

My experience with ed hitchcock was the most awful business experience I have ever had...(I AM WRITING THIS TO SHOW ED HITCHCOCKS CHARACTER ) I was a newly licensed California state contractor just starting out in business.I poured a concrete patio at his house in corona Ca. The patio had brick ribbons every 8 to 10 feet in each direction and a brick border around the entire edge..one of the concrete Bay's had a piece of rebar that was to close the top of the concrete and was sticking out...it was my fault 100 percent..I came back and removed that slab and re poured it...I get a call 2 weeks later and Ed said the slab did not match in color with the other concrete slabs. .which I believed him because we mixed that slab by hand...so I agreed to remove the slab one more time and re pour it.and I did do that as promised...the problem is I was in the middle of moving when all of this was going on...Ed filed a complaint with contractors state license. Board the day after we poured the first time...but I was not notified about the compliant because I never notified state license board with my new address...so he attacked my bond and received a check for almost 4000 dollars..he had the money from the bond company before I re poured the slab for the 3rd time and never told me about it.. I didn't know until 6 months later... I took a new transmission in my Chevy dually truck as payment for part of the concrete work.. which he charged me 1400 dollars for a stock turbo 400 transmission... the part that is hinky on Ed's part is he let me replace the slab two times knowing I was unaware of him receiving 4000 dollars from the bond company when I was doing the right thing by replacing the bad concrete work.. he made 600 dollars on the whole thing because the total job price was 3400.. he is a good business man but not a good person.. I never contracted again after this...thanks for reading.... Marty Nall

What can I say, Ed took care me. I have a 2003 Acura TL (not the S model), he rebuilt my transmission and it shifts like butter!! Thanks Ed!! this car previously was only repaired by Acura. Ed renewed my confidence in the small shops!!

I would recommend these guys over anyone else in the county! They rebuilt my beat up, unshiftable 4L70e on my SS Trailblazer to handle even more power and shift better than when it was brand new from the factory. I couldn't be happier. Call Ed for all your transmission needs!

These guys are awesome. My other "trusted" mechanic gave me a $1500 estimate for the repair on my transmission leak. I was about to auction the car for whatever I could get. I went to these guys just to get a second opinion, they kept the car overnight for diagnostics (No Charge!), the next day I call them to see how things are looking (expecting the same answer $1500) and they tell me that they have fixed the tranny for $95, seriously!!! that's amazing. the car drives way better then when I brought it here. Totally recommended, these guys are as good as it gets and they were able to accommodate me with tons of cars already in their garage. Ed has a cool demeanor!

These guys competently and quickly fixed our commercial dump truck's transmission. Ed is a kind and smart guy that clearly knows how to fix and rebuild transmissions. This is one less thing that I'll have to worry about if I have any mechanical issues with our Junk Studz commercial trucks. 5 STAR review is well deserved....thanks again guys!

Found the shop from Google. Ed was straight forward from the start. Took my car there, explain my transmission problems, and Ed gave me diagnostic and recommendation with alternative to fix my problems the next day. Picked my option, he went on to fix as we discussed. Few days later he consulted about something he needs to do, gave my permission, he proceeded. Everything was straight forward and headache free. If you want your transmission fixed without BS I would totally recommend Ed's shop. My high mileage car now running smoothly and with peace of mind since the rebuilt tranny comes with warranty too. BTW, Ed was very courteous, very knowledgeable and I got ZERO "shadiness" on dealing with him. Again, thanks for fixing my car, Ed!!

Took my F150 to Transmission Specialists & they took great care of my situation. Thought it was a transmission issue. Instead, they discovered it wasn't & instead of paying for work that wasn't necessary, they replaced a bracket that had broke.....only got charged for work that was necessary...Highly recommend...they took great care of me & will go back to them in the future.
