I want to give a huge shoutout to Dawn in the parts department at Rush Truck Centers at the Ashland, VA location. She is absolutely amazing. Every time I come in, she is incredibly helpful and always running around trying to get customers taken care of as quickly as possible. Her professionalism and customer service really stand out.
Honestly, Dawn is the ONLY reason I would give this place five stars. She truly busts her butt to help customers and goes out of her way to make sure people get what they need. You can tell she cares about doing a good job and helping everyone as quickly as possible.
I always call my parts in ahead of time, and when Dawn is there things move quickly and smoothly. When she isn’t there, unfortunately the experience can be very different and I’ve ended up waiting 30 minutes or more just trying to get assistance. Dawn is the one who really keeps things moving in that department.
She works incredibly hard and provides outstanding customer service. Rush is lucky to have someone like her.

Rush did some driveline work for our truck that had the transmission replaced. They got the angle wrong and burned up the transmission in about 6 months. They agreed to replace the transmission, but would not warranty their work. They STILL could not get the driveline angle correct and took months for me to get my truck back. I took it to another vendor who said the work as it was left by Rush was some of the most shoddy work they've seen in almost 20 years. Thanks for nothing Rush!
Casey Williams has never provided service short of excellence. Friendly, knowledgeable and determined are only a few words to describe my many experiences with him. I’ve never had a vendor bend over backwards for customer satisfaction like he has.
This service is very bad.
I stopped at this truck stop because I saw a problem with charging. Under load (heater and lights), the voltage drops below 12 volts. On the road, everything is fine — it holds 14 volts.
I came to this station and I have been here for three days already. I still do not have a clear answer. They say it is a wiring problem and want to keep the truck for six months.
I am 100% sure the problem is simple. It is most likely the voltage regulator on the alternator. The brush is stuck or broken. Because of this, the charging drops at idle. Replacing it takes about one hour, even with coffee and food.
But I am still here for the third day, waiting, and no one can tell me when my truck will be repaired.
This is unacceptable.
Traveling my normal route from Florida to Massachusetts when a warning light on my dash came on. Called Rush in Richmond and they told me to come on in and they would look at it. Long story short it ended up being a significant problem but Shawn and his mechanics worked hard to get me back on the road the same day. Awesome work from all. Thanks to Shawn’s diligence and care I will be coming back here for future work!!
I bought a aftermarket ac compressor part from here and broke after a week. We spent more than $2000 and the last mechanic said that this ac compressor part was bad and needed to be replaced. While selling the part, they said that it was under warranty and that it could be replaced at other locations of this brand, but the other locations did not accept it and tried to sell another one.
They always got what you need but boy they're pretty proud of it. They're parts, pricing and their filter pricing and stuff like that is absolutely through the roof...
I really like working with Rush Truck They are very Helpful and considerate and explain thing to me that I can understand. I am rating them 5+ Tyler Cole and Jay Lambert for the excellent service. I would recommend Rush Truck to anyone.

Well the company I used to work with had a lot of issues in dealing with Rush. For starters 8 years ago they took my truck in for a state inspection and they then slapped a rejection sticker on it for a burned out fog light . Why the hell wouldn’t you just replace the damn thing I dunno. Upon getting it fixed to take it back there for them to pass it, they wanted me to drop the damn thing off. Luckily I didn’t have to and after telling my boss they wanted me to drop off they went ahead and passed it. Then about 2 years ago my company had my truck dropped off for box work and they had it for barely a week and didn’t do a damn thing to fix it as all the same holes were in the corners of the back and front of the box. At the same time we had another guys truck dropped off for repair and they stole a brand new tire and rim right off of it replacing it with used ones. It seems to me you take your truck here and they charge you and don’t fix anything and steal parts too. I would recommend any individual or company to steer clear of the Rush in Ashland.
Came in with an issue on the truck. They said the Def tank needed to be flushed and cleaned. 2 days later it was complete. Got 25 miles down the road. Same codes same issues. Now we are at another shop and they're saying the same thing. Day 5 now. People that work here. Want tell you anything unless you ask them. Act like you're a problem for being there.
I am so pleased with the work that you guys have done on my truck again. I came in in such a short period of time and you guys were able to work on my truck asap. Everyone is super nice and the communication is amazing. I will definitely recommend Rush truck center. Thank you again rush truck center.

Rush is fortunate to have both Chris Glass and Gordon Whitaker working together at the Ashland location, Chris gets out and respectfully stops by and checks to see if our needs are being exceeded, and Gordon sees to it that the parts we order are correct and are delivered to us on time and at the agreed-on prices every time. Even the delivery driver is very professional and sees to it that we are taken care of. Great parts team at Rush Truck Center Ashland, Virginia.

I have made a appointment thur Penske a few wks in advance. Dropped the trk off on last fri bc the appointment was on Monday of the next wk. I only needed a small box put on the trk were the steps went to get on the cat walk. I called Tuesday and they said it woukd be ready Thursday. Today came and they said it was ready but when I asked about the steps, and if they were in the trk. They said they put them in the trash bc no one told them to save them. Then they told me oh wait no the tkt is still open. Let's see, yes penske needs to pay for it before we can close the tkt out but they never called penske to let them know the trk was done. Then I called penske and they said that rush told them they just pulled the trk in the shop! Now how long does it take to put a box on a trk. Well it looks like for rush over a wk!! But thats what happens when u lie. U have to keep chging your story!
I work for AutoZone fleet maintenance, and Chris Glass is my aftermarket sales rep. Top notch! Every time I need a quote or a part, wether I text or call him, he responds! Chris ensures I get the best pricing available, and communicates thoroughly as far as delivery times are concerned. It makes my job a bit easier to also have Chris on my side!
Ashland RTC service staff is amazing. Joe, Jim and Shawn keep you updated on the progression of your service repair. I’ve been working with the crew since 2021.

Tyler is one of the best outside sales rep I have came in contact with . I have worked at many parts companies and he is by far the best with working to make sure we receive the best pricing , always going over and beyond to ensure the company needs are met and always welcomes you with a warm friendly greeting when he comes to do his weekly visits ! Called to find out about batteries for my Freightliner, told that they are on sale. I came to the dealership The friendly staff was helpful, quick transaction, and a sales rep even helped me to carry out a new battery and took the old one. Super service. Thank you.
Yesterday I ordered water pump , and this morning I trying to pick up my order , I came from fairfax va when I came Rush truck center in ashland , I gave my order number and they could not find my the water pump and I have to go back more than 100 miles away in fairfax VA , so donot buy any things and lost your time. Also let me tell you they donot put enough employee at work . You gonna be in line long time hours.
Went in for an oil leak. They seen more issues. Done an excellent job on all repairs. Although Rush in OKC didn’t do their job when they rebuilt my engine. Rush in Ashland went above to get it fixed. Awesome work from Service dept and the shop. I would recommend Rush in Ashland Va to anyone. Can’t say that about Rush in Oklahoma City. Once again awesome job done by Rush Trucks in Ashland Va Thanks to them.
Rush had our truck impounded while it was in their possession without notifying us. They offered to assist in selling our truck. Without saying anything, they impounded it and racked up a $23,000+ STORAGE fee for us to get it off the lot. (The truck is worth about $19-22k when it was working)To make matters worse, this was all while we were on the tail end of a 2 year process of buying a brand new truck from Rush. We communicated regularly. The day I picked up our new truck, our old truck was parked right next to it. Nothing was said about it being impounded a week or so later. In fact, I was told there was someone coming to look at the truck that week to potentially purchase it. I spoke with the regional manager ROB MULHOLLAND and he blamed the tow company that brought the truck to them for the lack of communication to us even though our company and contact information was on the initial service ticket quote. On the phone he said he would get everything squared away and get the storage fee wiped because they do tons of business with ANYTIME TOWING. Never heard back from him and my emails and calls are going unanswered. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and very bad business. STAY AWAY
I have to give a huge shout out to Heath Parrish, Gordon Whittaker, Tom Smart and the rest of the personal in the parts department, the fastest service around and I can promise you if they don't have what your looking for in-stock they will go above and beyond to find it. I have absolutely no complaints when dealing with this business and would not change anything about it. They have definitely earned and deserve 5 stars.
