Absolutely DO NOT use this company. Extremely rude and unprofessional. They were called out to a bridge with ice on it to move my daughter’s car and proceeded to tell her it wasn’t drivable, which was a complete lie. Took the guy an hour to put her car on the tow truck, which was a flatbed. Look at the way he was pulling it up. That was a red flag and the tried to tell me we owed $660 to get it and have it moved to a repair shop to investigate. Let me be clear that my daughter pulled over to avoid sliding and watching people hitting one another and DID NOT wreck her car, so explain how it wasn’t drivable? Then the tow guy had my daughter move it and him as well but after he put it on the truck, our car has issues that appear to have been done by the improper hooking of her car. Completely rude and would not return my calls and thankfully I know the laws in SC with having cars towed and how much they can charge. It resulted in me having to involve the Columbia Police Department and the officer that was out there to protect us from their dishonesty. Finally having to have a family member who has his own tow company call them out on their incompetency and going to get the car, paying only $125. Complaint filed to have the removed from rotation with the police department so this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

The company picked up my car after an accident and said they would release it to the insurance company for inspection, Before subsequently disabling their phone lines so you couldn't even call them and the mailbox was full and rejecting the insurance company.
Rude and charged me for the day that I picked up my vehicle that was impounded. $250 plus $50 on Friday, $50 on Saturday, $50 on Sunday, and $50 on Monday saying after midnight it’s another day and I had to hunt my car down. My car was towed to a company that was closed on the weekend.
I want to say thank you very fast and friendly had been waiting almost 5 hours for other tow company than they canceled you was there in 25 min and had us home safe and sound highly recommended
Just had them pick up my car for another vendor and the lady in the call center was so nice telling me their ETA and David the driver was amazing and helpful and carried on a good conversation with me!!
They accepted a tow from my insurance company we waited about an hour and a half just for them to cancel on us. The next tow company came within 30 mins. I hope in the future they learn to only accept jobs when they know they have someone free to do the job.
Waited over 3.5 hours for this company to show up to tow my car. I called and was told that I was next. They never showed up, so I had to get someone else to help. Very unprofessional and terrible company. I should have looked at the reviews before attempting to do business with this company. Steer clear.
After my car was stolen, this is the tow company that was assigned to pick up my car. The owner is extremely disrespectful. He was so rude on the initial call to pick up my car. I don’t know how bad his business is struggling because the greed for money is ridiculous. I wouldn’t give this place a dime. The Better Business Bureau will hear about this. To anyone needing a tow company I suggest finding another one. The receptionist was also very unprofessional. Taking phone calls in front of customers is extremely unprofessional. I’m not the one to block anyone’s blessings but this place needs to be shut down. I have no respect for a man, older man at that, who talks to woman very nasty and ugly. So unorganized and just all over the place. Worst experience I’ve ever had with a tow company. I sat for two hours with my baby in the scorching heat waiting for my car only to be told to come back in the morning after they told me it was ready. Then to receive a call at 8pm to come get it as quickly as possible was just ridiculous. Save your money. They have no regard or professionalism.
If I could give zero stars, I would. This company is running a scam. During events at the Koger Center or Colonial Life Center, this company tries to find cars to tow. David with Sandy Run Towing removed cars from my property on Assembly Street, Columbia SC during a show at the Koger Center. My company gave permission for people to park in our lot. Sandy Run Towing removed the cars with out permission or notification of the owners of the lot. The parking spaces are labeled as to the owners of the lot. The ticket provided from the towed cars listed "illegal parking on private property without permission". The cars were parked on OUR private Property WITH permission. David at Sandy Run Towing had no authority to tow the cars on our property. To make it even worse, he charged EACH of the cars $280. He thought he could grab a quick $1,200 on a Saturday night. Do not use this company.
Had to give one star just to leave a comment… I’m the victim of incident where my car was shot up and the owner/operator of this company could care less about anything but making himself feel good about himself. I called asking legitimate questions about my situation and how I should go about doing things the right way and the attitude of this guy makes you feel like you’re the criminal almost immediately and you shouldn’t waste any of your time trying to figure things out; just call the police who gave you his number to begin with. Real loser…
They run a scam! We went to an event at the Township Auditorium, we’re directed to park in a lot, then came out and everyone who was directed to park there had been towed. Then the owner pulls up after the event refuses to give you the company name or address, will only let one person ride with him or bring your car back to you if you give him $280 cash only first. They refuse to give you any information until you pay them cash. Running a total scam.
They run a scam to tow cars downtown during events so be careful where you park, even if you're told you can park in a vacant lot. $280 cash only to get your car back AND they don't want you following them and they won't issue everyone a receipt. They want you to ride with the tow truck driver to the ATM and then go to the lot where your car is parked or they'll bring it to you. They stage the cars a block from the venue and block the entrances bc they don't have keys to the gate bc it's not an impound lot. Such a scam!
OMG… After reading the other posts, I am glad it wasn’t me imagining how rude and unprofessional Chuck was to me and my son. Chuck, who stated to be the owner of this company was all about the money and was very opinionated about his thoughts on our vehicle telling us it was no need to take it for repairs because it was trashed. He over charged us because he felt like he had to go out of his way and “waste his precious time” towing our car 3/5 miles from the accident site. His attitude was horrible. He tired to tow the car to a location that I didn’t mention and come to find out it was his place of business. If any police officers have to call you a tow truck and this company pulls up, please decline the service.
This towing company is the most unprofessional towing company I have ever witnessed. The owner used vulgar language with me and continued to act unprofessional after the prices they gave were outrageous! They don’t have any signs around the building stating no parking or no parking fee alerts stating how much it would be if you do park on their property. They also picked a car up with a person in the car and overcharged the people that owned the car. Where I’m from you are supposed to alert the person in the car not towed the person while they are sitting with their car. I would advise that this place gets shut down and nobody ever goes to this company for help their Incompetence shows. They also had a weapon in their possession and was ready to use on unarmed children. This place should never get the peoples support or Money.
These guys have saved me a lot of trouble and money three times in the last few years. The first was changing a tire when I had a flat and no jack. The second was a tow across town and the third was a jump when my battery went dead. They got to me fast each time I had a need.
Co-Owner, Mike Wallace, is extremely unprofessional and it’s because of that I wouldn’t recommend Sandy Run Garage to ANYONE! He has had my sons car since Feb./2021. And as of today, 08/27/2021, he still has it! The tow to the shop was done with no issues. However, since being diagnosed that it needed a new engine, we have paid for services that has yet to be rendered! I’m reviewing my legal options now. I will follow up with this review WHEN (IF) we get the car back, until then, PLEASE RUN!!!!
Best tow service ever! Reasonable price. Nice people. Very prompt and honest. We broke down between Canada and Florida but their helpfulness blessed us in so many ways.
I have never used them before but I doubt I would use a company who is okay with endangering other people's lives. Weaving in and out of traffic and riding on cars bumpers with a tow truck is never safe in my opinion. I actually screamed at one point because I thought he was going to hit a car. If I could have called and reported the exact truck then I would have but that is how fast the truck was going. Very very unsafe!!!
Was given the run around about a tow for over a week. Very unprofessional and serious lack of communication skills. Was called “ungrateful “ after my car was impounded because of them not picking the car up in a timely manner. Would not recommend.
Horrible Experience. They lie to you about the price and they steal things out of your car. My expensive Apple headphones, luxury purse, and Jordan’s were stolen out of my car. They are very unprofessional and liars. DONT EVER GO TO THIS PLACE!

in many cases extends favor without extra charge. Chuck is the most fair minded man I have ever met. He & his excellent staff perform fast, friendly service with a smile. There is no foul language used as mentioned in a previous review, have no idea where there people were, but not at Sandy Run Tire & Towing. Don't take my word, I may show favor since the owner is my favorite son-in-law, come in, check them out, buy some tires, align or balance your tires, need mechanical work, they can handle that, also excellent towing service. You will be glad you discovered this excellent, honest business in the Columbia area. Thank you,
Called and asked for a quote and guy tells me i would be best to get someone on to garners ferry to help me because hes on north main. Great customer service guy. Why have 8-2 hours as operation today if your guys don't want to work. Guess i should've really looked at these reviews and trusted them.
Need a short notice tow. They sent someone right over (big guy, buzz cut). He used a cheaper tow truck because he could with my car so I wasn't charged as much. He gave me a ride back to my house. Great professional and cares about customers, would recommend for towing and I will use again (if needed, but hopefully not)!
Do not buy tires from them! Sold me some jacked up tires. Said they had a seven day warranty. I tried over 4× in Those seven days to get the issue resolved. They kept saying your tires haven't came in yet. Then on day 8 they said your warranty up. The guy named Chuck has no people skills tried to talk to me any Kinda Way on day 8. Don't believe anything they say unless you get it in writing!

Tried to rip me off...but good towing company really good pricing on towing but DON'T USE THEIR SHOP!! They said one thing was wrong about my vehicle and then the next never got back to me. The second day i went over to talk with them and my car wasn't being worked on.....they said it wasn't what they thought was wrong and needed a break from my car. I ended up fixing my OWN VEHICLE...AT THEIR GARAGE in 5 minutes after doing some research. Then proceeded to charge over 400 DOLLARS FOR NOT EVEN FIXING MY CAR!!! AND THEY TRIED TO PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND MESSED UP MY INTERIOR AND GLASS AND PAINT!!!! Don't use their auto shop......not worth the hassle and damages to your vehicle. Towing section is great and friendly though.
I've been taking my car to these guys for a year. I'm very much thankful for these guys. Their honest and fair. And they don't charge for just a check up.
