Home decor stuffs are pricey and nothing much to see if compared with other store of Goodwill from different states or thrift stores. Would be nice it improves to have more stuffs.
I tend to find some decent clothing items here, but the books section and kids section really needs to be expanded upon (especially toys!), and many of the home goods are WAY overpriced. I really only come here for clothes and go to other local thrift stores for other gems!
The canned excuse offered for their pricing is ludicrous. They have very little overhead. They pay nothing for their stock. There's no reason to overprice anything. I've shopped on many Goodwill stores and they were all better priced than this one.
Came in 12/12 4.45pm..Employees were very rude...didn't say hello...all behind counter laughing, Ignoring customers... Then when it was time to check out they were nowhere to be found...they saw us waiting and they decided to keep doing what they were doing instead...they wanted to be out of there before 5.55...store closes at 6..."Manager" who finally rang us out ... told us we weren't in the right register...told us move our stuff and there was no thank you at the end...Awful Staff....Do Better
Their prices on their home items have gone out of control. I was told the managers make up the prices for these items and clearly they need to be retrained and brought back down to reality. A plain white brand-less serving bowl that was well-used with scratches all over the inside was $39.99. Wall decor for over $100. There were items with their original store tag on them with a cheaper price than the goodwill price!!! $19.99 for a used glass pitcher with a $9.99 Walmart tag on the bottom. These prices are far above what the item even cost brand new. This store is an embarrassment for the Goodwill NYNJ industry. Their hours of operation are also getting shorter and shorter. What other clothing store opens at 10am and closes at 6pm? Do better Goodwill. This place is the worst.
Wow, I saw so much interesting stuff here priced really well. It was one of the most fun thrift experiences I've ever had. I recently moved here from a good area of California so I know what I'm talking about.

Went in there and saw a pair of sneakers that were worn and dirty, was gunna try to clean them up but they wanted $20!!! Ridiculous!!!! These people need to be retrained in pricing fairly! No bargain here!
I really enjoy coming to this store, I always find amazing things and exactly what I’m looking for. Plus the energy and assistance from the lovely ladies is always amazing. But I have noticed every weekend when I come in I feel bad for the poor ladies that are working with the young boy on the floor, as he stands around and gazes out the window while these girls are running around putting stuff away and picking up.
Prices are way too high! It’s ridiculous! This is a thrift shop and these items are used! The beauty of a thrift store is get a good deal especially for those less fortunate, this Goodwill prices items at retail price. And every time I look in there, people agree that the prices are insane.
They had some nice stuff spent a $$in there weekly and wont go back, as are they are so inconsiderate when selling items that are damaged and are priced same as reg stores even tho items are freely donated. Since they refuse to give even a credit or change item which would be respectful for a business .I will not go in there again as i was robbed for $25 as they tried to take item back even tho i paid for it.
I went to the Goodwell Store in Vestal NY tonight , 10/20/24 @ 5;40 . I had a question so I asked a girl Vicky (I think she said that was her name) if I can bring in bags for donation ? I didn’t know the back door for drop off for donations closes @ 5 and she said ofcourse with a nice tone & smile !
I went out to my car and she came out with a cart to help me , she was very nice & very helpful. She made my night after a crazy day.
Every time I shop at this location I hear several staff members talking negatively about others ( who aren't there). It's very unprofessional.
Also the prices are ridiculous for some items. The Sunday $1 color tag sale is fantastic!!
Absolute waste of time visiting. Insane pricing on old used goods. You can get the same items new for the same price on Amazon.
In short, unless you're looking for old kitchy stuff that is unique, avoid Goodwill.
Masks still required and I can't wear one. I'm not diseased scum. Also, dropped off a beautiful assortment of items in May and was treated rudely at the back. In the past, people were always friendly, offered to help and would say thanks. I was coldly told to leave the stuff on the floor before she hastily walked away and went back to her conversation with another woman. I will donate to the Salvation Army from now on.
Not happy shopping here. This is supposed to be a place to shop because you can't really afford a "regular " store. Many times including today I've found sneakers and dishes priced at the same price or more than Walmart very sad. Also it wouldn't take the staff any longer to size the adult clothes or at least have a plus size section. Most plus size people aren't happy about being plus size. I personally won't be back I don't have time to search through all the small sizes to find anything. And if you're going to charge 13 dollars for plastic dishes that I can get at Walmart for the same price or cheaper why would I shop here
I absolutely love the store and have found many treasures. The manager Kim is so sweet and helpful every time I have a question. Kim always greets me with a nice hello and lets me know what’s the color of the week is. I look forward to Tuesdays and the special sales. we lost our goodwill in Binghamton and then I found the Goodwill in Vestal, and all the professional and friendly people that work there make it a nice experience every time I go.
Worst Goodwill I have been to in my life, out here in Vestal Broome county New York. Horrible customer service all around and especially management. They have a billboard telling you what items cost and the categories that specify what an item costs. However, they do not stick to that price, they determine the price. No prices on clothing, so they make up what you will be charged depending on how or what they feel the item is to be categorized. However, 5 different price tags on shoes. I asked the cashier how much the shoes were and if they are all 9.99 as posted, she said yes. Once she hands me the receipt, I noticed I was charged 29.99 for the shoes. I told her that I did not want them for that price and was quoted 9.99. I was then told that since transaction was processed already, they can not do refunds and all sells are final. Why the hell do you give out receipts then. What’s the purpose in it. Management was the worse in speaking to me so rudely with disrespect, and dismissing while turning her back on me. Then rudely stating, there’s a tag on the shoe, can’t you see it. First of all, so disrespectful and secondly, your billboard sign states shoes are 9.99, and I was quoted that and told that what I would be charged. Terrible customer service and then not to refund an item that you clearly were misinformed of. Very disappointing to see such horrible, disgusting, disrespectful, management leading a Goodwill. I have never been to a Goodwill location with this type of service. Shame on you for your behavior and dishonesty, and ripping off your customers on top of that. I am sure I am not the only person who has experienced this type of theft from this Goodwill. I will never again visit this location, and will no longer be giving any of my donations over to your store.
Barely anything besides clothes. I found a backpack I liked and they wanted $10 for it, there was even a stain on it. That bag was donated to you for free and you charge $10? I've never been to a thrift store so expensive? What are low income people supposed to do when thrift stores become to expensive for us? :(
Went thrifting for clothes and accessories for the costume I wanted to put together this Halloween. What a successful venture! Liked the selection of stuff, though it was a little difficult to find the things I was looking for, but in the end, what a good time. Great service at the cashier and good place to come if you want to look for things at a good price.
Stopped by this location and purchased a keureg for our hotel room since we will be here for almost a month (due to a military move and our home is not ready yet) I figured it would be fine thinking they check and see the items are in working condition but apparently not...its leaks all over! So glad we didn't purchase the t.v my son wanted.
Will definitely not be returning to this location again.
This used to be a great thrift store. But, it seems like all of the better class items are being sold online and not in the community. (I asked an employee) Plus, the prices for donated items have shot up excessively. It's so disappointing.. Why bother the shop there when you can't find anything good anymore and the prices are close to full retail on used items. The only good thing
they still have going for them is their employees.
Used to be better pick wise. Now the college kids have discovered it so the finds arent as good. Plus they have upped their prices, which I understand, but it definitely more expensive than if you went to a Thrifty Shopper or Salvo. But the staff is really friendly, and store is clean!
I went to the goodwill today and can honestly say I will NEVER return . The employees need to learn customer service skills . They are down right rude . My mask slipped down my nose a bit and was only like that for a second or two and the lady came and yelled at me that I needed to cover my nose . She then proceeded to tell me we have been doing this for the past year now and I need to get with it . It was not a friendly atmosphere at all and their prices are outrageous!! I also watched her scold a elderly woman for her mask as she moved it for a second to take a breath
Customer service was really great. Jacob, the cashier, had a very personable conversation with me. He asked my major and we made small talk. Super nice and made my day just being friendly.
Love this store! The people their are so friendly and are always willing to help. Always have great things for great prices. Some even had actual store tags on them for nearly 80 percent of the actual cost.... what???? Yes I'll take that.

I am frequent shopper of the Goodwill. I always thought the prices were fair. On Monday July 31st the Goodwill increased all its prices on clothing. Shirts which were $3.49 are $5.99. Dress that were $7.49 are now $9.99 and so on. I think they are becoming greedy. I don't mind spending an extra .50 cents however, when you raise items by $2 you are going to upset a lot of people. If you shop the Goodwill, you will also be asked at the checkout if you would like to round your purchase price up to the nearest dollar. They say it's to help the needy. I'm beginning to wonder exactly who we are helping. My two cents.
