Great place to get parts for your vehicle if they have them. Bring plenty of tools, some kind of oil resistant mat to lay/sit/kneel on and water for hydration
The customer service can be dodgy and sometimes they charge you a lot, possibly more than they should. Just an example, my car has the center console built into driver's seat, they wanted to charge me for the seat and the center console. Thankfully they charged me final sale, but from time to time they can be a bit extreme in their pricing.
Came here mostly to look around. Ended up with a new driver's seat in very good condition for $35. I really just expected to look but I found this seat already unbolted and ready for me to carry out. If I were still in town I would probably go back and find more things.
Great experience. I actually overpaid the entry fee by 50 cents and the clerk ran outside and gave me my change. I was there on a Friday and it wasn't busy at all. I found my part and was back on the road in 30 minutes for a third of the price. It was cold and windy, possibly the reason it wasn't busy.
It’s a good place to get bigger parts, for instance, when you find a car that has been wrecked in the back and you’re looking for motor parts or vice versa not the best place to get tiny items they’ll overcharge.
Cool place got some things I needed, and it was not overly expensive. The guy who checked me out was kind of a jerk, and at first, I thought he was being a jerk with me but then saw he was that way with everyone. He did give me a good price on my items, and who knows, maybe he was just having a bad day.
Just like all the others and it may be just me but the 5 cars I had available to look at 4 were just frames doors gone engine transmission windows suspension all gone. Time to get rid of some scrap.
I'd never been here before, but by helping a friend I saw how easy the business transaction was. We got a free learning lesson as we tried to pull the part; lesson by trial and error. There was no hassle and the staff I encountered were all friendly.
The picture is the stamp they put on my arm after I paid to get in. Very cheap admission $2.00. Bring your own tools. Very large inventory and well laid out for customers to find where to go. If you need a part check website and go get a part.
Friendly staff good prices only thing that concerns me is how when I need leaf springs or certain suspension parts alot of these cars are not being held up by the frame I wish they would make that a for sure thing that all these vehicles are being held up by their frame!
I had a disappointing experience at this place. I went in with the expectation of getting a good deal on a mirror, but after factoring in the $2 I saved compared to buying it new, it didn’t feel worth it at all. I had already paid to get in and had to pull the part myself, so in the end, I realized I should’ve just bought a new one. The staff was also unfriendly and rude, which only added to my frustration. Considering the parts are used and we do all the work ourselves, I was hoping for a much lower price. If you're thinking of coming here to score a better deal than buying new, be careful—it might not turn out as expected.
Great place for used parts but they are now charging an environmental fee to counter their fees that have to be paid as a business. Legally they are allowed to do this, but also legally they need to make customers are that they are charging this fee. They didn't have any signs up and hoping people just didn't notice when they cash out. Also non-english speakers will not have a clue. This is why the low review is being posted.
Overall I have to say that Abq's u-pull-&-pay is an awesome place for anybody that's looking for a great deal on car parts. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the lot is organized and has A LOT of vehicle's to pull parts from. Definitely recommend this place.
I've got a 2007 MAZDASPEED 3, turbo, 6 speed manual transmission. So it's already extremely hard to find cars like mine here, however it's still a great experience checking-out all the cars. The staff are helpful.
Sad, I found some parts not as good as eBay, but they were used OEM, but this place wanted more than what I could get it on eBay. I did find a door seal at a great price.
Pretty cool place, staff helpful, tons of cars. I needed a window switch and i found it , managed to remove it but got it hone and didn't work not by the fault of the junkyard but probably my faulty car. Did find a doughnut in perfect shape. I did nt have one so bonus!! Prices were.... meh better than new I guess. Worth checking if you need a part.
They offered me the best deal out of anyone in town for my 2000 Subaru. Came same day to pick it up and paid cash. Jon who drove the tow truck was incredibly kind. Thank you guys for what you do!
First timer. Had a pleasant experience. Everyone was friendly. The kid who checked me in was definitely helpful. I’m just glad I had an easy part to pull, and more than fair pricing. Thanks guys!
Slowly realizing that the prices are ridiculous. Every time I’ve gone out, pulled my own parts and then paid, I later realize I could’ve ordered the same thing, brand-new for the same price or just a few dollars more. Junkyard parts are usually worn out and of course no guarantee if they’ll work, or even last. So I just don’t understand paying the same you would for new parts, but also $2 to get in and to go pull them yourself. Talk about feeling silly.
I don’t usually leave a bad review but today’s experience was pretty sh$&y (bad). First, after hauling a car from Rio Rancho to the junk yard Liz was giving me a hard time about the title. After a few back and forth they finally bought the car. I asked for assistance on unloading the car. Liz said that they couldn’t do that. I told her that ive been there before and that they helped me in the past. Then she said that they were out for lunch. I said no problem I would unload myself. When I drove back the tractor was clearly not out for lunch (See Pics). This is more like a heads up in case you haul a car make sure you are completely prepared. Specially if you’re hauling from far distance.
I love this place. The seats i needed for my econo cutaway were $200 each + shipping online. I got some good condition seats PLUS a console for my rv for $75. And when we didnt have the right tool there were friendly people there to help out. Its always an adventure roaming the yard too. lol
So horrible customer service, BUT you stumble upon pretty good finds from time to time! Got a driveshaft for my car as a temp and it works great. Also found a pretty sought after grill which is why the three stars. On the other hand some of the employees are sorta rude and act like your an inconvenience to they're day but still there are others that seem nice enough. Also if you have to return anything you only get store credit.
I was a bit intimidated when I first walked in, but I guess that's the junkyard culture. Was a great experience once employees warmed up to me. Huge selection that churns rapidly so if you don't find what you're looking for one day, come back in a few days. Try to get in as early as possible for the best selection.
